Cafe Plaisir - Baron (part 2)
#10 of Cafe Plaisir
Here's the follow up to Baron part 1. There's no sex here, but there's a little drama.
So, little confessing to do:
When I wrote the first part, it was just sort of me going for it, trying to get back into writing. But, now that I've been more immersed in the current Cafe Plaisir world, and decided I wanted to do some different stuff with Baron, I sort of back-pedaled a little on his story. So, this part might be a little jarring. But, Baron is getting another story featuring him from someone else, so I'll let ya'll know when that happens.
For now, hopefully you enjoy this little part (that honestly should have been at the end of the first part. It's kind of short.)
Baron Part 2
A midnight Lycanroc carrying a Vaporeon through the halls of Cafe Plaisir wasn't the strangest sight the place had ever seen, but it was interesting enough that everyone that saw them took notice as they passed. They garnered a few snickers and chuckles as well from some of the employees that knew Baron. Baron decided to take the back way to Captivate as to avoid the main bar, out through the covered walkway.
He stopped at the side entrance to the hall and sat Reyka down on the ground. He pulled one door open and held it, allowing her to slip inside first before he followed. Baron had figured there wouldn't be anything going on, since it was still only about 10:30 in the morning. But, there were still Pokemon scurrying about, preparing the stage for whatever act they had planned for that night.
"This is Captivate," Baron explained to Reyka, sitting down at a table close to the entrance to the large, open room. The high ceilings and specialized wood paneling made the place echo quite a bit when there were so few people inside, thanks to the great acoustics. "There's not much going on now, but there's always great acts here in the afternoon."
"It's certainly a very beautiful room," Reyka commented, panning her head to take in the whole of the hall.
"They did a great job when they built this place. I heard they got some master concert hall builders to plan the area out so that it could have this big open floor and all the tables, but still have great acoustics like you might find in a classical music hall. Also, the poles are for... well, I'm sure you can guess," he chuckled. They sat and watched Pokemon scurry about the place, cleaning tables and putting up decorations.
After a little bit, Reyka turned to Baron, "You sound like you know what you're talking about, there," she said curiously.
"Yeah, I took music lessons for several years after I evolved. I haven't played in quite a while," he said, looking up to the stage.
"What did you play?"
"Piano. I took lessons I think for four or five years. I was sort of okay, I guess. Didn't have lots of natural talent, so I just had to work extra hard."
The Vaporeon smiled, giving his side a gentle thump with her tail. "I've always heard that people who work harder are typically more successful than those who have talent and waste it."
"My teacher always said the same thing." He pondered for a moment, before saying, "I've been considering getting a cheap keyboard for my bedroom and getting back into it."
"Well, what would be stopping you?"
"I don't know, to be honest." He got up and stretched, prompting the Vaporeon to hop down from her chair. "I guess I don't really have a good excuse, really."
"Well, I'd love to hear you play sometime!" Reyka said, nuzzling up to Baron's leg like a cat does. Baron was positive by that this particular Vaporeon acted much more cat-like than dog or fox. Maybe it was a breeding thing?
"Well, hopefully you get the chance to some time." As he made that comment, he reached down to pick up the Vaporeon again, deflecting any further conversation on the subject. "Now, I'm going to take you to see Dark Pulse. It's probably closed, but I think I can get in with my employee key."
He left through the front door of the large room. They made a couple turns, eventually coming to a stairwell leading downwards. He skipped quickly down the steps, making sure not to fall and eat shit with the Vap in his arms. That'd be a mood killer for sure, he figured. At the bottom, a dark colored double door prevented them from going further. A sign above the door read "Dark Pulse."
"One second." Baron sat Reyka down on the ground, pulling a key ring from inside his apron. It was a good thing he had remembered to at least put that back on when he left the room that morning. He had only three keys on the ring, and the one he tried slid easily into the lock on one of the doors. He turned it and gently pushed the door open. The door opened to an unknown empty blackness. Reyka poked her head in, and he could hear her sniffing the air inside.
"Yeah, you'll get used to that," he said, chuckling slightly as he slipped inside and flipped a switch. They heard a solid *thunk* as the lights all switched on, giving a dim glow to what was a room larger than Reyka had first thought, not being able to see anything. The lights were all dark colored, making sure the area stayed true to its name. There were massive speakers hanging from several places all around the room, and a stage for a DJ sat at the far end of the room.
"Welcome to Dark Pulse, the Cafe's nightclub."
"It's... very intimidating," Reyka commented, walking slowly and seemingly cautiously into the upper floor of the room. She slowly made her way to the railing that looked down to the dance floor. Baron closed the door behind them and followed her.
"You should see it when it's occupied. I'm not really about this kind of nightlife myself, but I did visit one time, just to see what it was like. I think I got my fill that night for the rest of my life." She wasn't looking, and had missed him shiver remembering all the acts of debauchery he bore witness to that night.
"You make it almost seem like one big orgy happens down here," she said, a hint of amusement and... disgust?... in her voice.
"Well... that's not too uncommon," he said, once again shivering. He HAD come here that one night, but he didn't stay long. He made sure to shower extra hard that night, though.
"I don't like it here," Reyka said, retreating back to the door. Baron nodded, flicking the lights back off behind them and following her out. He locked the door and the two plodded back up the staircase.
"If you want, I can show you the rooftop terrace. You get a pretty nice view of the surrounding area from up there, including the central garden."
"We actually went up there yesterday when we were waiting for you. We also went to the main bar area for a little bit. I wouldn't be against seeing them both again, though," she said, flicking her tail behind her.
"Hmm... I have an idea. We're going back roading." Before she could ask what he meant, he picked her up once again and pranced excitedly up the stairs. They finally saw sunlight again from outside pouring in through the windows, as opposed to the dark, dim lighting down in Dark Pulse. He took Reyka by the main kitchen hallway and around a few more corners, and then found the door he was looking for. It was an exit door, and when he pushed it open, they found themselves outside, back behind the Cafe. From the little nook that they were in, you couldn't see either parking lot, but you could see the field in which the Cafe sat in sprawling out before them.
They both took a second to take in the nice, sunny, late October day. It was still pretty warm, as Baron had learned pretty quickly about this part of the country. Tomorrow, it could be snowing. No one really could tell, except maybe a few Absols running around the Cafe. There was actually a bench set into the concrete slab the cafe sat on, and Baron sat down with Reyka in his lap.
"This is the place I come to sometimes when I want to get away from stuff. It's a nice, quiet area, and I don't know of anyone else that knows it's here really. It's almost a little too perfect, what with this bench being here." He let out a comfy sigh, his paws running down Reyka's back and sides. She purred happily, scooting around and making herself comfortable in the Lycanroc's chest fluff that poked from atop his apron.
"It is quite nice, I agree. How did you find it?" she asked, lazily flicking her tail around behind her.
"I explored a lot of this place the first week or so I was here. Before I had my TV or game console, I didn't have much else to do, so I just walked around to see what I could stick my nose in. Found this one day, and thought it nice and pleasant." They sat in silence for a minute or so, gazing out to the nice view and enjoying the breeze.
"So, puppy dog. Tell me more about your music days." Reyka's voice, while not teasing and seductive as the night before, was still very smooth and musical. Baron loved her accent.
"Well, I honestly wasn't that great, even with practicing. It takes a lot of effort and time. I probably couldn't sit down and play anything anymore." He looked at his paws that were petting the smooth Eon, pondering for a moment. "I always felt it was my paws holding me back, but I've seen stranger Pokemon play stranger instruments."
"In my country, artists are highly revered. A large amount of people love to sing and read poetry. Those who can play instruments are very well celebrated. I find it a little sad you don't use what talent you do have." Baron sighed softly. Maybe now that he'd have some extra cash to throw around, he would get a keyboard and get back to practicing again.
"Yeah," he said, answering his own thoughts out loud more than answering her. "Yeah, I think I will. Next paycheck, I'll get a keyboard and get back to practicing." He started to get excited, thinking back to his days of lessons. It'd take a while to get back to where he was skill wise, but it'd be something productive to do, rather than playing Mario Kart. He smiled to himself, and the Vaporeon noticed, smiling as well.
"You'll have to play for me someday," she said, leaning lazily on his side.
"Maybe," he replied simply. It would certainly take a while before he felt comfortable playing for anyone, though. He let out a sigh, fidgeting in his seat a little. While the area and view out back were nice, the bench was quite uncomfortable as usual. That meant he never stayed out here too long. He also felt that having a Vaporeon on top of him made it even worse.
"Hey, you ready to go see my room? It's nice out here, but this bench is very uncomfortable," he said, giving her cheek a scritch.
"That sounds fine to me." She stood up and stretched, allowing herself to be once again hoisted up into Baron's arms. She was going to be spoiled by getting carried everywhere.
They headed back through the door and into the walls of the Cafe. The Lycanroc made his way through the winding hallways, eventually heading down a staircase that lead to the basement level where most of the employee bedrooms were. The hallways were quite simple in construction, being set with solid concrete walls and carpeted floors throughout. That made the bottom level of the Cafe very safe in case of storms, and made sure each employee had a safe place to go in such events. He found his door, shifting Reyka as to hold her with one arm. He reached inside his apron for his keys once again, unlocking his bedroom and opening the door.
As soon as he closed the door, he leapt on his back into the bed, squeezing the Vaporeon tight as he did so, eliciting a lovely squeal from her. They giggled as he rolled onto his side, bringing her with him. He pulled her soft body into his fur, wrapping both arms around her and licking her head fin. He could feel the deep purrs coming from her throat more than he could hear them. The blue, vibrating Eon snuggled her body as far into his as she possibly could, murring as well when Baron gently massaged her sides.
Between the purring and the gentle thumps of Reyka's tail on the bed, Baron found himself getting sleepy just laying there. He closed his red eyes, letting the warmth of their embrace take him wherever it would. But, as he was really starting to get comfy, Reyka leaned in and planted her lips on his. While shocked at first, he allowed her to do so. After a few seconds of kissing, he could feel her hips starting to rub up against his lower belly. He broke the kiss, panting lightly.
"W-wait, Reyka. I uh... wasn't really feeling like doing that right now," he said, a little hesitant to impose.
"Aww... Are you sure, puppy dog? I'd really like to have one more session before I have to leave. I certainly won't force you, but it would be nice." She put on a puppy dog face that tugged at his heart. He didn't want to tell her no, but he really didn't want to have sex then. He was just enjoying the cuddling.
"I mean... if you really want to, I guess we can, but I was just enjoying the embrace." He was trying to not offend her by telling her no. He was sure he succeeded, but at the cost of losing his own will over the situation.
"Come on, I'm sure you really wouldn't mind just one more quick round, would you?" He felt the thick softness of her tail brush back and forth across his sheath through the thin fabric of his apron, causing a soft moan to escape his lips. That, combined with that same, sultry voice she used the night before, caused blood to rush downwards to his nethers. He felt his tip start to rub against her tail, which sped up the process considerably.
Surprisingly to him, the more she did this, the less he really wanted to do it. Unlike the previous night, that sensation against his private parts felt wrong, and they made him uncomfortable. He was hoping he and she could simply relax together for the rest of their time, and this was not relaxing at all. It completely killed the mood he was in.
He closed his eyes, groaning in his mixed feelings. She could tell he wasn't feeling comfortable, and stopped. Her facial expression was a mix of concern, confusion, and disappointment. She crawled off of him and laid off to the side.
"What's the matter?" she asked. He opened one eye, finally noticing her look she was giving him. It wasn't a particularly comforting one.
"I don't know, I just... I don't really want to do that right now," he said, avoiding eye contact. She huffed a little bit.
"Your body certainly disagrees with you," she said, gesturing with her head to his half-mast erection poking at the inside of his apron. He blushed, feeling even more uncomfortable now that his body had betrayed him.
"I mean, my brain doesn't control it. I can't help it when you rub me the way you were..." He sat up in the bed, his erection sliding back into his sheath because of the situation. He wasn't in the mood before, and now he really wasn't. "I'm sorry I don't want to. I just... don't." He could see Reyka looking very disappointed.
"We only paid for one night, so I can't force you. But I wonder why such a sudden change of heart from last night?" she asked.
"I could ask the same. You seemed so genuine last night, and what you just did felt out of character." Baron's heart was thumping heavily in his chest. He wasn't used to confrontation like this, and he hated it. But, he didn't want to get bullied into having sex. That was out of the question.
Reyka was slightly stunned at the words. She eyed him intently, her tail swishing uncomfortably back and forth. "What do you mean by genuine, Baron?"
"Last night, I told you how I really started to feel for you. You said you felt the same way." He had to stop his voice from catching in his throat. This was a weird emotion he was feeling. It wasn't quite anger, but it had the same sort of effect on him. He was moving constantly on his spot on the bed, feeling incredibly uncomfortable in his own skin at that moment.
"I thought you were just saying that. Isn't that what people do here? They say nice things to make you feel good about your one night stand?" He could hear the defensiveness in her voice, not wanting to be pinned as the bad guy. That made him question himself; was this his fault? He felt his heart sink in his chest. He really had royally screwed up.
"N-no! I wouldn't say that if I didn't mean it..." His voice trailed off, as did the eye contact he was making with Reyka.
"You should be more careful about what you say to people. I found it cute last night, but you can't actually fall in love with someone in a couple hours."
"But that's exactly the opposite of what you said before!"
"It was an act, Baron!" Both Pokemons' voices were growing louder and louder. After that, Baron was breathing heavily; that feeling from before had grown into full-blown anger. He didn't think he was angry at Reyka specifically, but just at the situation he found himself in.
"H-how can you just act that? How could we have that special of a moment, and you not feel anything?"
"It was just sex!" She was standing on all fours now, her teeth slightly bared. She was feeling attacked, so it would be natural that she also was feeling angry. In her mind, Baron thought, she had done nothing wrong and was being accused of leading him on. He was just being too emotional about the whole thing. It was just sex.
"Last night was great. I loved every single minute of it. You did a fantastic job for your first time. But it was just sex. I'm sorry, Baron, but I can't just fall for you like that." Her chest was rising and falling quickly from the argument. She eventually let out a big sigh, and he could see the anger slowly starting to drain from her face. What was left was concern, but also a forced placidity.
Baron sat still, having averted his eyes from her and staring down at the bed between his legs. He had nothing to say at this moment. He felt awful for expecting this other Pokemon to share the exact same feelings he did from a single sex session. He was a novice to it all, and let it get to his head. This was his fault, and he knew it. Baron closed his eyes, feeling a twitch in in the edges of his lips. He let out a very mechanical sigh, not letting the welling up of emotions inside of him escape. He felt his eyes begin to haze a little bit as well, and he refused to blink, knowing that would send the moisture down his cheek. He would not cry in front of her.
"I'm sorry," is all he managed to say. He didn't look up at her, even as she leaned in to kiss him on the cheek before hopping off his bed.
She slowly plodded across the room, opening his door to step out. Halfway through, she paused, turned around, and said, "Goodbye, Baron." The door thunked shut, leaving Baron alone in his room. The silence immediately began to drill at his brain, but it didn't last very long. He laid back, flipped onto his belly, and cried into his pillow. He felt absolutely pathetic.
How could he have known he'd have gotten so attached to a Cafe Plaisir customer on just his first time? He hated that he did. He didn't think he could work as a bedroom waiter after this. He wasn't sure the Cafe's training would be able to change his mind about the intimacy sex held with him. He had always imagined sex being such a personal thing between two people. When he experienced it, he brought that expectation with him, without realizing that others wouldn't share his feelings. He didn't know what his pay raise would be, but he wasn't sure it would be worth the emptiness he was feeling. He felt so hollow.
He forced himself to stop crying after about ten minutes, sitting back up and rubbing his eyes with the backs of his paws. He hated crying. It never made him feel better, and it just wasted his time. He sat there for a moment, slowing his breathing down to a normal rate. He needed to get up and do something, because laying in bed would just lead to him crying again.
He got up and got himself a bottle of water from his mini fridge he kept under his desk, chugging the whole thing down in one go. He let out a loud sigh, thumping his fist quite harshly into his bedroom wall. The ringing pain that shot up his arm a few seconds afterwards was a good mental wake up, and it helped to clear his mind. He wasn't going to mope around all day. It was only about 11:30 or so at this point, and he still had the rest of the day off. He needed to get out and do something.
His first thought was to get some food. He had eaten in the guest room earlier, but it wasn't much. Baron was a big breakfast eater, so he was still pretty hungry -- especially after walking around the Cafe all morning. He took his apron off and threw it onto his bed. He checked his mirror, straighted his bowtie, and used a rag to dry his tear-stained cheeks. When he looked presentable, he threw on a side bag to keep his keys in, and headed out to the main bar area.
When he stepped into the bar, the atmosphere made him feel a little better. It wasn't terribly crowded at this time, but there were several people and Pokemon walking about, their mixed conversations filling the space with an easy, relaxed tone. Baron sat down at the main bar, ordering himself a full English and some tea. It was a little late for breakfast, but he didn't really care. Jack was bartending at the time, and when he brought the tea, he noticed Baron's down look. He poured a cup and slid it to him.
"What's got you lookin' so low there, ay?" The Typhlosion leaned over the countertop a little bit, resting one paw on the other.
"It's nothing." Baron was not a good liar, and Jack was a fantastic judge of that sort of stuff. He was not fooled.
"Hrm. Did things not go well with that Vaporeon last night?"
Baron almost spat out his tea. "H-how did you know?" he asked, befuddled that he could somehow know about that so quickly. Had he talked to her when they left? They'd have had to left through the bar, he figured.
"What? Ya' think I don't know the inner-workings of my own place, eh?"
"N-no! Not at all! I just figured you had better things to do than wonder what a 6-month employee was doing." Baron had always heard from the others at the Cafe that Jack knew everything that went on in the building. He had always assumed they were just being dramatic, but now he was convinced.
"You think I didn't know about the table waiter becomin' a bedroom waiter for a night?" He chuckled heartily, pouring himself a cup of tea from the pot and sipping from it. Being from Ireland, he understood that a pot of tea was best shared. "I do know. I also fig'r that you got too attached to the Vap, mmm?" The intensity that Jack's red eyes looked into Baron's made the Lycanroc slightly uneasy. He gulped, nodding slowly.
Jack let out a sigh, the intensity leaving immediately, replaced by a look of knowing and understanding. "Aye. Ah'm sure Ahryzel thought that you'd do fine. From what I 'eard, you DID do jus' fine. The trainin'd'a helped ya' out certainly, but some Pokemon like yerself are jus' too damn nice." He chuckled again, sipping from his tea cup.
"I just... It was my first time. I'd always thought of sex as something that meant something, you know? I guess not everyone looks at it the same way I do." He stared down into his cup of dark, steamy liquid.
"It's a feelin' that doesn't go away. Ya' just have ta' get used to the fact that others are people with their own thoughts 'n feelin's. Yer here to provide a service for them, aye?" One more sip from his tea allowed him to think for a second. "Ah've known a lot of Pokemon go through here that felt much the same way you do about that stuff. Before ya' decide that the bedroom waitin' ain't for you, though, ya' might want to go check with Coco about your bonus check." He finished his cup of tea, having drunk the whole thing when it was still almost too hot for Baron to even sip. He slipped back away from the counter, and Baron didn't see him again until he came back with his plate packed full of food.
"Aye, here's yer Full English. I know ya' feel terrible right now, but I think the Full English was a good call on yer part. Can't feel too bad with a belly full a' that!" He gave the Lycanroc a wave and started tending to another couple customers who had just sat down at the bar. The encounter had made him feel better. He still felt crummy, but the emotions had dulled. He dug his attention into his plate of sausage, bacon, eggs, beans, fried bread, and a tomato.
Jack was mostly right. With a full stomach, he was able think clearer about everything. He still wasn't sure he'd want to switch over to the lewd side of the Cafe Plaisir, but he didn't think his meeting with Reyka would ruin his sexual experience forever either. Again, he still felt pretty crummy, and probably wouldn't be over it for a couple days, but he could be sure he'd be over it eventually.
Right after eating, Baron decided the best idea was to go talk to Coco about his check and training. He tipped Jack extra (pondering afterwards for a second about the thought of tipping his boss), and made his way upstairs to Coco's office. He went through the waiter's lounge, seeing his Rampardos friend making something in the kitchen. Gideon hadn't noticed him, so he continued onwards. He didn't want to talk to his friends right now -- especially the one that had just gone on a date the night before.
He continued on around the corner, stopping in front of Coco's door. He took a deep breath, preparing what he would say to the Vulpix about not wanting to continue as a bedroom waiter. He knocked on the door, and heard the small voice of the female Vulpix from the other side, "Come in!"
He stepped into her well-furnished office, taking a second to admire the coziness. "Ah, Baron, come in!" She said, spinning her chair to meet him eye to eye. He mosied over to one of her chairs and took a seat. She reached behind her to grab an envelope and turned back to him.
"Hey, Coco, I need to-"
"Real quick, let me give you this. It's your check for filling in last night. I got a fantastic review from the client, and they said you were well worth it! I just finished writing this up." He grabbed the envelope from the Vulpix, opening it up and pulling out the check. His red eyes went wide when he saw the number on the check.
"I-I think there's a mistake on this check," he said flatly, his jaw hanging open a little bit.
"There's no error there, Baron. I double checked it myself," she said, a big smile on her face. "Welcome to the adult side of the Cafe Plaisir. Customers pay very well for our services, and you cost extra, considering you weren't on the menu, quite literally." She giggled and turned back to her computer. "I do hope you're happy with the amount."
"I-I'm amazed. This is more than twice as much as I would normally get in a week!" He just stared at the number. There was an extra place in that number he wasn't used to seeing.
"After you get trained, it won't be quite so much as that, but it's not far off. It was only an extra 10% more. Now, what did you come to tell me?" she asked, crossing her paws on the desk.
"I... never mind. When does training start?" If all he had to do was suffer through emotional struggle every night to make this much money, he would have signed up as an adult waiter months ago.
