The air was crisp and cold that night as the lion got out of his car, holding his parka close as the heavy flakes of snow first began to fall down on the already-white landscape. "I knew I should have come earlier," he said as he walked past the rows of cars that had already parked on the private street for the night, making his way up to the only house that was in the area. It was perched up on a hill and resembled a small lodge you might find at a ski resort. He knew that no one was there for skiing, though, as he finally got up to the door and rang the bell.

The lion waited for about half a minute before it opened, a male bighorn sheep standing there with a half-full cup. "Well hello there!" he said as he ushered his latest guest in and closed the door behind him. "Welcome to the party, Rajara!"

"Thanks, Belier!" Rajara replied as he shook the snow out of his mane and shook his hand. "Sorry for taking so long, I didn't think there would be this many people for such a thing. I'm not too late, am I?"

The sheep chuckled and nodded, helping him put his coat in a room with all the others before leading him to the kitchen. "Don't worry, my friend," Belier told him as he pointed out all the various refreshments. "Feel free to help yourself to the food and drink as much as you want, we're all playing a cell phone game in the living room, feel free to join in once you're done packing in. The main event will start in about half an hour now that you're here, so make sure you eat all you can, you never know what you're going to enjoy once we're done!"

The lion nodded and walked into the kitchen, passing by a draconic sabrewolf who nodded his head to him as he passed before walking up to Belier. "That was the last one, right?" he asked as he refilled his drink, Belier nodding. "Alright then, I guess I'll get everything set up and ready to go. A shame really, I had just won two in a row and now they're going to think I'm bowing out because I'm on top."

"Can't be helped I guess," Belier replied. "Are you sure this is going to work the way you said it would, Serathin? I have to admit when I saw what was being offered I wasn't sure whether or not it was a gimmick."

"Don't worry, it'll work," Serathin replied as he finished mixing his drink and looked back at him. "Its SHIFT Institute tech, I use it every day for work, so I can vouch that it's all top of the line and state of the art and all that good stuff. And given what you had me program into it, I think we're all in for quite a treat."

The bighorn sheep nodded, though in the pit of his stomach he still felt a bit nervous about doing such a thing as what they were about to do. He admitted when he talked to the draconic sabrewolf and came up with what they were now calling the White Elephant Variant he didn't think that the strange creature could actually deliver what he had promised. Part of him thought that it would be some sort of themed party game where party guests pretended to be other people and they would have to guess or something like that, but when he came into the house that Belier had rented for the event with a moving truck's worth of stuff, he knew it was going to actually happen. Most of the equipment was out of sight in the basement that had since been locked, partially so no one could fiddle with the settings and mostly because the saberwolf was adamant that the technology used today would have to be kept top secret.

Serathin seemed to sense the apprehension of the other male and grinned as he began to forage through the various food items once again. "I can tell you're a little nervous about what I claimed that machine could do," he said, the bighorn sheep nodding as he watched the hybrid put a few legs of chicken on the plate he had grabbed. "I told you this is completely safe, there are a bunch of safeguards in place that are going to shut the whole thing down if someone doesn't like what they see. But I've been to something like this before, once this thing gets started there's no stopping it."

Belier nodded at the reassurance and returned to the attentions of all his party guests, which at this point was a full house now that everyone was there. The first two that had arrived were Newlyn and Khari, the former was an easy-going snow leopard guy that was gracious to be there while Khari was a slightly chubby brown hyena that came in less than a minute later. It was so close together that the bighorn sheep had almost asked if they had come together before they started talking to one another as though they hadn't met before. At the moment they were talking to Serith, a gold-scaled male eastern dragon that, despite the cold, wore clothing that showed off his physique while he talked to them.

In the dining room Banzai was still hovering around the various platters of food, the purple-furred fruit bat picking pineapple pieces out of the punch bowl while talking to a male wolf named Grey. Grey had been one of the later people to the party, nervously shaking Belier's hand when his metal prosthetic arm before hurrying inside. Now that he'd had a chance to get comfortable he seemed to start to get more open with people as the night went on. Also hovering around the two was another male canine who introduced himself as Hans, the Iberian wolf shyer than Grey, but still making strides at conversation with the others around the party.

Further away from the three sat a rather unusual creature named Xeldin, whom when Belier asked identified himself as a Vu'Thir. The best approximation that the sheep had was that he was a cross somewhere between a bat and a western dragon, possessing winged arms and a rather alien eyeless face. Despite his lack of sight he appeared to be more than capable of navigating around the party with ease, though he currently talked to a male rabbit who called himself Mataeus Devailo. Though the conversation was cordial enough the small male leaned back ever so slightly, especially when the Vu'Thir leaned his head in close.

As Belier's gaze moved from the dining room to the living room he could see Xena and Nystre talking to one another on the couch that wasn't occupied by those playing a game. Both of them were species that he had never heard of before, either, Xena identifying herself as a species called the Jakkai. She was a short little thing with big ears that game up to Belier's waist and seemed a bit nervous as she walked right in and parked herself on the smaller couch. It was a stark contrast to Nystre, who said they were something called a jamcat, which they said got their name from the fact she was filled with blueberry jam that Belier could believe as she had watched the cartoonishly-proportioned feline literally squish in her skin as she was hugged by another.

While those two took up the other couch there were three males that took up the main one, all of them intently playing a game on the big screen that hung above the fireplace. The first was Matrim, a wolf with feathery wings behind him that he had managed to curl around Belier as he walked in before he moved on after giving him a wink. The second was a jaguar named Variun, or Vinny as he said to call him, who appeared to be in the lead as he pumped his fists up in the air of triumph while the other two shook their heads. As the last male fell back on the couch Belier remembered he was also one of the most curious, Erakir being a species called a Moogle that, while the bighorn sheep swore he had heard of somewhere before, he couldn't remember just where from.

As the three started up a new game they asked Serathin if he wanted to play, the draconic sabrewolf shaking his head as he continued to hook up wires to various devices. While the two had made contact before and Belier had pitched the idea it was the hybrid who had put everything together. Serathin had said that he liked what the male bighorn sheep had as an idea, and for a small fee put the party together. All Belier had to do was put the guest list together, which included the two of them on it even though they were technically also hosting.

That left only two more guests, one of them being the late lion that had just gotten himself settled in. Rajara seemed like your typical muscular lion, and as he brushed the snow out of his mane looked like someone who prided themselves on their appearance, but also had an easygoing nature about them. He was currently pouring himself a drink and talking to Ted, the one and only human that had come to his party. It was a curious addition, one that Belier was looking forward to see what will come of it as he went to the bar himself and made his own drink to join in the festivities.

About half an hour later all sixteen guests that had been invited by the bighorn sheep had been gathered around the television as the last of the empty plates and other trash were cleared away. While the space was big enough for everyone the couches and other loungers only held so many, the rest either in chairs pulled in from the kitchen or sitting on the floor. The only two that still stood in the half-circle that still stood were Belier and Serathin, Belier in front hosting the party while Serathin continued to work on a tablet behind the couch. Belier got everyone's attention and waited until the screen on the television changed from the game that they had been playing to one that displayed the words White Elephant Exchange.

"Thank you all for coming to my party," Belier said with a smile on his face as he motioned towards the display screen. "It's time for the night's main event, the White Elephant Exchange! Now I know the invitation that you didn't have to bring a gift, and that's because tonight your form is the gift! We're going to be playing a variant of the traditional game in that when it's your turn to get a gift the computer will decide randomly whose form you're going to get, as well as one or two other special little treats that will be randomly sprinkled in, and then that gets to be your form for the next year. Any questions so far?"

Belier scanned the room and then pointed at the first hand he saw get raised, calling out the name Banzai. "So if we're these forms for an entire year won't that be kind of a pain?" he asked. "As fun as it may be, if I get pulled over there's no way that they're going

to believe my license if I'm a wolf or a dragon. Plus, what about our jobs and such?"

"I can answer that question, actually," Serathin spoke up from the back. "This particular software comes with preceptilink technology, so whatever happens to you will ripple into reality and change everything about your life so they always thought you were that form, and it will also produce new identification so that you know exactly where and when to go if there's no mental shifting. Then once the year is up the ripple condenses back to its original reality and everything will go back to normal."

"That's right," Belier said with a grin. "So whatever happens to you just go with it and enjoy yourselves, especially since you may experience some mental changes or changes to your preference. But I've been assured that the machine is able to recognize what you would and wouldn't be comfortable with, so don't worry about going through the year and then being nauseated at what you did and with who. I'd also like to point out that things may get a little lewd, and though we're all adults, I wanted to make sure that was clear that the transformations involved might cause people to get a little... frisky."

There was a momentary pause from everyone as they looked at each other before Banzai turned back to the sabrewolf. "Where exactly did you get this software from?" he asked.

"That's a very handsome question," Serathin replied before he looked up at Belier and tossed him the tablet. "Everything is good to go Belier, all you gotta do is press start and the first person on the list gets to roll the dice and see what form they receive."

"Sounds good to me!" Belier said as he caught the tablet and pressed start, the screen on the television changing to all of their portraits. "Now remember just because someone becomes you doesn't mean that you'll become them. It's all the luck of the draw! Speaking of, let's see who gets to be our lucky first contestant!"

******************************************

A green box bounced around on the screen amongst the pictures before it began to slow down, everyone in the party leaning forward in anticipation as they looked to see who the first victim would be. It looked like it was going to land on the wolf marked with the name Grey, but then with one last shift it highlighted the one at the top named Belier instead. Everyone let out a whoop as their host got picked first, and when the bighorn sheep looked at Serathin as though to ask if he did that on purpose he just shook his head and motioned to look back at the screen. With the first portrait chosen Belier's picture went to the upper left portion of the screen, next to an arrow that pointed towards a second, blank box that was about to be picked.

"Any preferences?" a winged wolf whose portrait on the screen read Matrim said with a grin on his face. Belier just shook his head and waited to see as the roulette that was the computer's selection process once again chose for them. This time it landed on the picture of a snow leopard near the top of the screen, which expanded to fill it as the name Newlyn flashed on the bottom before it shrank and the portrait landed in the blank space on the other side of the arrow.

Before Belier could ask if the process was automatic of if he had to do anything the portraits of all the creatures on the screen vanished and the top part pulled down until it showed Belier, Newlyn, and the arrow between them. They watched in interest both at the screen and at their host as more words flashed indicating that the program was adding a random modifier to the process. It only lasted for a few seconds, and then in bold letters announced that the first White Elephant Variant exchange was about to begin.

Belier quickly set the tablet back down on the floor as he began to feel a strange sensation in his stomach, like he had just eaten a big meal as the coloration on his fur began to change slightly, a pattern of black fur beginning to emerge as everyone looked at the bighorn in awe of what was happening to him. "Holy cow it's real," a male rabbit that had been sitting back in the couch said as he suddenly leaned forward. "We're really swapping forms, aren't we?"

"I told you," Belier replied with a grin as he felt a strange reverse pressure in his skull. When he reached up with his hands he felt his horns getting sucked into his head and the extra mass seemed to be dispersing through the rest of his body as he continued to change. It was an unreal sensation, but as he described the changes for the others it was like sinking into a hot bath as his skin started to tingle everywhere. The pigmentation change on his skin became more apparent as his muzzle flattened slightly, though as it did everyone's face turned to one of shock as they stared at him.

"What?" Belier asked before he felt something drip down from his nose to his lip, and when he put his hand to it and looked at it in question he saw what appeared to be silver liquid latex that began to spread across his fingers. "Well that's something different." Everyone turned from Belier to the real Newlyn who looked at everyone staring at him before he shrugged his shoulders. At the same time the changing male felt himself begin to sweat and felt the need to take off his clothes, stripping down for everyone without a care in the world of who was looking at him as several jaws dropped slightly.

"Something you're not telling us there, Newlyn?" A male moogle that had introduced himself earlier as Erakir said as he looked at the snow leopard with a smirk.

"No!" To everyone's surprise both Belier and Newlyn said it at the same time, everyone looking at the half-changed bighorn sheep as he put his hands to his mouth in sudden realization before he began to speak. "I mean... there are additional features that we programmed into the system, and one of them is that it's going to add things to you that weren't there before. What's the good of transforming technology if you can't spice it up a little?"

The others looked at each other and nodded in agreement, though all eyes were on Belier as he pulled his hands away and revealed he had smeared the still-dripping latex all over his face. Wherever the thick substance had touched it had gone from sheep to snep, though when he felt up to where his horns should have been he realized that while he still had a pair they were now very different in nature. Belier looked around before he saw the first mirror he could find and looked at the new appendages, which came straight up behind his newly-rounded ears and twisted slightly.

It was clear to both the transforming Belier and the rest of the guests that the game wasn't finished there as a pair of rubber horns began to sprout from his skull, causing him to groan as the tip of his rubber tail flared out into a spaded tip. When his teeth clenched in a grin they could see the fangs grow down past his lips and a forked latex tongue poke out as he flexed his new body continued to shift. Not only did he physically change but he also seemed to gain an aura about him, a swagger he didn't have before that went well with the new incubus nature that he seemed to have gained from the game.

As he stared at himself in the mirror Belier's look of shock slowly turned to a fanged grin as the tendrils of latex crossed over his eyes, the material that assimilated them glowing slightly as fangs began to poke out of a muzzle that had slowly began to curl up into a grin. "Uh... Belier?" Khari, the male hyena that sat on the comforter closest to the changing male, asked. "Hey Belier... you still with us there? Belier?"

Several more called out his name and finally the latex snow leopard headed male turned to face them, eyes shining with a blue light that caused them all to pause. "Okay, that is definitely not me," Newlyn said as Belier slowly moved back to the front of the room, his walk changing slightly as the latex continued to spread down his neck and chest. At the same time more of the liquid substance began to spread out from the bighorn sheep's tailhole and groin, his tail extending out with the rubber until it had reached Newlyn's length.

Belier groaned slightly as the rubber continued to assimilate his body, feeling strange new desires and feelings come to the surface as he rubbed his latex hands over his new skin. He no longer felt any shame about being naked in front of the group of people that Belier had invited to the party... the last thought caused the transforming male to pause slightly as he realized that sounded wrong in his head, but as he accidentally brushed against his latex-covered length a shudder of pleasure caused him to forget where that line of thought was going... clothes, he wondered why he even needed him, latex snow leopard incubi like him had no need for such things as he chuckled to himself.

"Well this definitely got more interesting," a gold-scaled eastern dragon said with a chuckle. "I envy the person that gets my body, you know? So who's next on the docket, Belier?"

The latex snow leopard looked at the dragon with his glowing eyes, tilting his head in slight confusion as the liquid rubber cascaded over his toes and turned them into a set of grabby paws that could manipulate things just as easily as his hands. "Who's Belier?" the rubberized creature asked, which caused others to look at one another. "I thought I already introduced myself to you Serith, my name is Newlyn and I'm your host for this White Elephant party."

Several people slowly turned around and looked at Serathin, who had sat down in one of the chairs and was drinking his mixed drink until he stopped mid-swallow when he realized everyone was looking at him. "Just how strong is that reality warping software you were boasting about?" The large-eared furred creature asked.

Serathin finished the last of his drink before he wiped his mouth and looked at the demonic rubber Newlyn. "Oh, that?" he replied. "That's not from the reality software, that's sometimes part of the program. I told you he wanted to put in all sorts of goodies and such. Don't worry, though, you aren't going to go off and do something that you'd never do as you, there's safeguards in place to prevent that. Anything else, though... well... that depends on how open you are to your new personality."

The others looked at one another and then back to the new Newlyn, who gave his lithe form one last stroke down his latex body with a loud purr before he picked up the tablet once again. "Let's see who's next, shall we?" he said with a fanged grin as he pushed the button that would choose the next gift recipient.
