School For the Special CH 3

"Well you are, the staff here don't lie. Not permitted." I took a deep breath as he turned back forward. I took a shaky step back and turned around. No way in hell I was cute! And especially not loveable! I was outside, trees and shrubs galore. There was a platform made of wood, and the monorail doors were open. It was considerably small. Three cars including the engine car. Each was ten feet long and had double doors on each side. I took a step in, and saw that there three rows, each looking comfy and soft. I took a seat in one and I felt a lurch. I started forwards, and I looked out the window.
Trees were zooming by at an alarming rate. At this point it would take at least ten minutes to reach the dorms. I dug my MP3 player out of my backpack and put in my earphones. I hit shuffle and started humming. I pat my paws to the beat against the chairs.
Four songs later it stopped and I stood up. I walked out with my backpack and suitcase. I sighed and shook my head. It was a one story building, brightly painted with colorful hues. The size was unknown to me, but I yawned. Better get going. Those visions do take a lot of energy up.
I found a door and used my ID card to open it. I wondered where my dorm was, and I looked around. I saw multiple doors, and various numbers. Mine had a number right? I think it was 1102 right? Might as well try. It was a long hallway with multiple doors.
I heard laughing coming my way. I frantically looked around and saw my dorm. I wanted to not meet those who were laughing, so I hurried over to the apd and unlocked it. I opened the door and I heard scuffling. I rounded a corner and saw the room was especially spacious and neat. Two beds were apparent, and one was slept in. I am so glad I had the left side, away from a window, with strangely a city landscape. I shook my head and put my stuff on my bed. I put in my headphones and sat gingerly on the bed. It had emerald green sheets, and pillowcases. How did they know my favorite color? This was turning to downright stalking! I leaned my head against the pillow and yawned. I closed my eyes and let sleep overcome my mind as the music turned into a soft droning.
I awoke after what it seemed like an eternity. I groaned and looked around. It did look a little darker, but a light was still on. I groggily sat up and looked over to the other bed. It had purple bedding, and a figure seemed to be sleeping. My left arm burned terribly, and I groaned. I clutched it, and I took out my headphones and heard a quiet sharp breath, as if someone was crying. I staggered to my feet and walked to the bed and put my paw on his head. I didn't know where this protectiveness was coming from, but it didn't feel right if I left him to sob.
I placed my left paw on his neck, and pain flared up. It felt like fire was coursing in my veins. Yet on the outside, it felt like ice was being pressed against my arm. It didn't feel right at all and I didn't like it.
I yelped and jumped back. I tripped over nothing and fell on my rump. I groaned and clutched my burning arm. I growled and looked at the figure in the bed. I noticed something familiar, and it made the pain even worse. I was suddenly filled with this hate, and I didn't know where it came from.
"You damned bastard! What the hell did you do to me?" In truth, the pain melted away, but with that pain gone, it fueled the hate even more. "Well answer me!"
He turned around and I noticed his fur was startlingly orange. And his eyes were red. And puffy. It was the damned wolf who tried to help me in the first place! I growled and stood up, his gaze following me.
"W-What are you talking about? I never did anything!" His voice sounded phlegmy and stuffed up. He panted and I growled.
"Don't give me that crap." I hunched over and my claws were outstretched. I was really sick of that crap! I hated liars, and he was the only one who had ever touched me, and when he did, that's when the pain started..
"What the hell is your problem?" He growled and staggered out of his bed. "I did nothing! How the hell did you even end up as my roommate? Last time I saw you, you were on the floor!"
I rolled my eyes and shifted my weight to my left leg. "So, your Joshua Vermillion? Can't say I'm not surprised that you're here. I heard about your family. I heard it was full of dishonorable fools who can't seem to know the difference between work and fun!" I didn't know where all of this anger was coming from, but I knew I had to hate this guy, I don't know why, but this guy made me angry.
His gaze soften and he sat on the bed. "Just what I would expect to hear from a Cadoree dog! Tell me, when did your family decide to disown you? Tell me when they treated you like crap? I heard about your abuse! Do not tell me my family is dishonorable! Especially when your family does worse!" He looked like he was seething! He was bigger than me, but I had a natural aptitude for any close combat situation. I just hope I was strong enough.
I growled and took a step back. I lost focus and a memory surfaced. My father kicking me into the dirt, laughing. I shook that thought away and my paws started to shake. I would not let a vision take hold, not now. I tried to will it away and it almost worked. But he had to keep talking.
"You failed the test eight times! You have no talent or anything! The only reason you're even bunking with me is because you made a lucky guess!" He was standing now and he was a head taller than me, he was looking down.
I quivered and squeezed my eyes shut. "Shut u-up! You don't know about anything I went t-through!" He was making it worse, but how the vision felt different. How it was taking hold was odd. Instead of it slipping under my mental barriers, it decided to hammer and chisel it away. I flattened my ears and dropped to my knees, covering them with my paws.
I took a shaky breath and pressed my forehead to the wooden planks. It hurt. I couldn't fight it, but all I could do was actually defend myself. I felt a paw on my shoulder and I screamed. "Get the hell away from me!" I scrambled to my feet and dashed out the door, without my ID card. I didn't care at the time, I only wanted to escape the nightmare. I slid into a wall trying to turn left and I slipped. I didn't know whether he would follow but at the time, I didn't want him to though.
I burst through the exit of the building and just ran ahead. I ran through trees and shrubs, crashing through the underbrush. It felt like it would still take hold, and I stopped. I dropped to my knees and hugged myself. Tears spilled from my eyes, watering the ground. I felt my body go numb, my vision darkening. I felt my left leg twitched, my claws digging into my arms. I gasped and let out a howl.
I heard someone yelling my name, but I couldn't call out. My voice wouldn't work anymore. I collapsed and hit the ground, my eyes closing as the vision I was being thrown into took hold.
