Warning: Dumbification
A piercing light shone through the dark room as a door to the astral realm was ripped open - what was once a small rift between worlds now wide enough for the cloaked figure to enter - his dull brown clothes and cloak concealing his body as it vanished in the bright blinding void. A full minute would pass until the glow had finally died down, the white never quite fading as the entire void around him aside from a few distant specks of grey reflected with an unseen source of light.
The old man would pull down his hood to reveal an old wrinkled face, an uncharacteristic smile across it as two ears slowly perked from beneath his wiry white hair. A snap of his fingers would finally dispel his disguise, revealing the form of a lithe fox beneath - pink ornamental robes replacing the dull brown as four fluffy tails popped from her rump - swishing behind her as her feet hovered over the ethereal ground.
"At last! That form was getting so annoying."
"I wonder if this 'god' of theirs will be as gullible as they were...one can hope~" The kitsune chuckled as an evil glimmer shone in her clever eyes - a golden cord tethering behind her as she started to drift forward.
This realm seemed to let her mind go free as her thoughts powered her motion forward, her body feeling weightless as she headed towards the closest speck off in the distance, its form growing quickly as the seconds quickly passed away. Time had little meaning here, though, only her thoughts seeming to provide any influence as she could soon make out a crude stairway carved into the body of what once might've been a god - now lost and forgotten, died and drained of all power in his realm.
Her eyes would look around as she started to float up the steps - taking note of the barren rock all around - the remains of a dead god long forgotten by the mortals of every realm. She could see shimmering stones shining through cracks, holding ancient power locked away by whatever passed for time in this strange place. It would've been a tempting catch had she not come for something even more valuable to her, something she had sought for most of her life - centuries of treasure; jewels, gems, magic, some as old as the god this being had usurped.
With her keen mind it would only take her a few more minutes to reach her destination - the entrance to the temple the dragon resided within standing before her. She'd paused again here, taking a moment to peer into its dimly lit depths. She could see no dragon, only the distant glint that called to her - beckoning her forward towards the goal she had worked so hard for.
It would be a temptation she couldn't resist as she willed herself forward, passing behind the entrance to the temple into a large cavern that slowly descended into the depths of the dead god, the stone giving way more and more to those same glimmering rocks. It wouldn't be until she came across a large open chamber that she would finally have found her final destination - a large white egg, a huge crack in the side with treasures pouring out across a barren floor.
"At last...at last..." The words left as a repeated whisper as she drifted forward, giggling with glee. "So much...so much..."
Her giggles would echo around the egg as she started to fill her bag with as much as its arcane depths would hold - gems, jewels, coins - magic items from ages past all disappearing into the small sac. She would forget what she had came to search for as the greed filled her mind. It wouldn't be until an odd feeling started to creep up her spine that her normal thoughts would return, the glimmer of wealth that blinded her vision suddenly growing slightly dimmer.
Slowly, her ears perked, eyes going wide as she slowly turned around. She hadn't notice the dragon enter - too intoxicated by the thoughts of endless riches to have heard his gentle breathing or the subtle sound of his body as it gently floated through the air. She was left speechless, heart starting to race in her chest as it was now almost face-to-face with her.
"Mortal...you must have a death wish." The words seemed to be spoken directly into the thief's ears, the kitsune slowly pushing herself back towards the far edge of the thick egg as the dragon moved to close off her route of escape. "Stealing from a god..."
"N-no, m-my lord, I merely came to h--"
"Do you take me for a fool!? Your mind betrays you." A growl rocked the egg as his head tilted back, suddenly flinging forward as a cloud of thick sweet air was forced towards her.
She tried to hold her breath, a small whiff of that breath enough to make her cough and choke. She could feel the tingle in her head from even that small gasp of air - the dragon's weapon a potent thing, designed to rob people of their mind in a realm that relied on thought. She would just barely be able to will herself back, nearly slamming into the side of the egg before she stopped herself, eyes widening as the dragon curled itself up to lunge at her.
With a speed she couldn't hope to match it came towards her, its tail whipping around its long slender body to fling her into the ground, another burst of that sweet-smelling breath hitting her as the air was knocked from her lungs. She wouldn't be able to stop herself from taking a deep breath of it - mind tingling even more as a slight haze started to hang over her thoughts - memories and experiences started to grow fuzzy as she held her hand over her muzzle to force herself not to take in any more as she pushed herself back.
Even with her movement slowing she could just barely clear it - fear helping to keep her mind clear enough to summon a burst of blue flames that shot from her hands towards the dragon. She couldn't help but smirk as she heard him growl loudly - rumbling the entire temple as the embers trickled up his body to engulf his entire form. The small moment of reprieve would be short-lived though as she heard another booming voice in her mind.
"Foolish girl..." The dragon brushed off the flames, his body flowing through them as easily as the air as he came up to the kitsune once more, his arms gripping tightly around her shoulder and head, lifting her up to him. "Do you take me for a petty whelp?!"
The thief would yelp in pain as his claws dug into her flesh, ripping through her robes as his angry growls rumbled through her body. This was an enemy she hadn't prepared to face, hadn't wanted to - and couldn't. The fear grew and grew through her hazy thoughts as she struggled against him, eyes going wide again as she felt his tongue pushed open her mouth, his lips puckering to wrap around her own as best they could.
"I have the perfect punishment for such insolence...an eternity as my toy."
The words rumbled through head - the last coherent thought the vixen would have before feeling her lungs forced open - a powerful burst of that intellect-robbing breath filling her. All she could do was uselessly beat her hands against the dragon as she felt it go to work - her thoughts dripping away as if the breath had bored holes in her mind.
"Feel that? Such a fragile mind you have." The dragon made sure to torment her thought, the flow of breath barely enough to take all at once too quickly, amusement beaming in his eyes as she shot a glance up at him. He could read her thoughts, see into her very soul - and he enjoyed every second of watching her slowly fade into nothing but a dumb animal.
With a sudden burst of desperation, she was finally able to pry herself from the dragon's tight grip, his face curling into a grin as she slumped onto the floor in a heap. She would struggle to pick herself up, body moving slowly, as slow as her thoughts as the last few tingles of the breath's effects continued to take hold.
The dragon would watch with delight as her face curled in confusion, jaw going lax as her tongue lolled out while she leaned forward, almost falling before her body slowly started to drift towards the exit - slurred words leaving her lips as she struggled to keep her tongue within her mouth. She wouldn't be able to get very far, especially not with the dragon hovering just over her, following and waiting and watching.
Just as she reached beyond the egg he'd dive down to coil himself around her in a wide berth, stopping her in her tracks as she absent-mindedly looked ahead, only trying to take on a half-hearted defensive stance when she saw the gleam of his eyes. He could see her try to use magic, arcane sparks fluttering from her hands onto the coins and gems below as her mind was too muddled and hazed to tap into the knowledge it once held.
His hands would wrap around her again, pulling her up into another kiss as she felt the breath once again force its way into her lungs. This time though she wouldn't put up any resistance, letting the sweet breath tingle across her body and mind - robbing her of the last bits of her old self as it left only the primal instinct behind that clung tightly to the bottom of her mind. The dragon's own beaming bright white eyes would stare intently into hers as they started to fade - color leaving them as her soul was left as barely a husk of its former self. The last bit of resistance from the once proud thief would be a few jerks of her tails as the last few bits of her mind drained away completely, to leave nothing but a dumb fox behind in its wake.
A minute would pass before the dragon finally broke the kiss on his own, letting her drop to the floor onto his horde, his chuckles echoing through her empty mind as he flew above her in triumph. Her mind gone, she was now nothing more than a toy, nothing more than a immortal pawn for the dragon to use as he pleased - his own thoughts slowly becoming her own, the golden cord still tethered to her body his key to use his new vessel to its fullest.
