The British countryside, full of charm and delight... that's until gay celebrity author Marcus Lane arrives back from San Francisco to fix his parents' house up and sell it.

His arrival in the village, combined with that of a famous film star in town to shoot a movie inspires jealously from a bored local teenager with a crush on both of them and the curiosity of Marcus' first ex which leads to a trail of comedic destruction.

Chapter Thirty Four

Marcus

Marcus followed Frank as they made their way back to Honeysuckle Lodge.

He felt relieved to have made it out of the Mansfield house alive twice in a row.

"Can we trust Gareth to spy on Anthony?" he asked.

"Well, he's already made a career as a housebreaker," Frank shrugged. "Spying on his step-dad should come easy to him."

"True," Marcus nodded as he opened the front door.

Ralph and Gunnar were still in the living room.

"What happened?" Ralph asked as he got to his hind-paws.

"I think we convinced the crazy old vixen who lives in the house," Marcus said. "With the help of our little thief."

"Well, I guess he's proved useful for something," Ralph shrugged. "I hope he brings my clothes back."

"We asked him to do that, and he's still under the threat of spanking so I reckon he'll behave from now on," Frank reasoned.

"Good," Ralph replied before casting a regretful glance around the room. "I need to return to the set sadly, and I'll park the car up there for now before finding someone genuine to look after it." Marcus felt a pang of sadness as the Doberman wrapped his muscular arms around him. "Be well," he said, giving Marcus a kiss on his cheek fluff.

Gunnar walked forwards and also hugged Marcus.

"I hope we get to meet again soon," the Elkhound said.

"Me too."

"And thanks for looking out for him," Ralph added to Frank who nodded politely.

Marcus followed Ralph and Gunnar to the front door.

"I'll be back, I promise," the Doberman said. "Technically we're neighbours while I'm here."

"Indeed," Marcus replied with a smile.

Ralph and Gunnar made their way down the path. Marcus waved as they drove off before closing the front door.

"Not as sad as last time he left?" Frank called.

"Not quite," Marcus said as he made his way back to the living room. "He said he'd be back and I believe him."

Frank was in the kitchen, glancing in the fridge.

"Sorry, I probably shouldn't be so nosy," he said with a nervous laugh. "I was wondering what to make for dinner."

"We could order pizza?" Marcus asked hopefully.

"Sadly most deliver apps don't work out here," Frank sighed. "We'll have to call the place over in Fildown and pick it up."

"Yeesh, no wonder teenagers get bored around here," Marcus grumbled.

"It's only a short drive," Frank reasoned. "Or, I could make us something? Let's see, we have a lot of meat."

"I don't suppose you want another meat sandwich?" Marcus teased.

"You know, I'm good thanks," Frank laughed.

"What? You didn't like the last one."

"Oh, it was nice, it just wasn't what I'm in the mood for right now."

"How about I make dinner?" Marcus offered.

"If you have something in mind," Frank replied.

Marcus stepped up to the fridge and glanced at the content. In truth, he wasn't sure what he could make.

Frank had sat himself at the table and was gazing out of the window.

"I'm at a loss too," Marcus eventually sighed. "Maybe driving somewhere else to get pizza would be a good idea." He sat down at the table and put a paw on Frank's arm. "Sorry I'm not better stocked, despite having haul that big cooler box up to the door."

"It's okay," Frank shrugged.

Marcus paused and then grinned as he slid himself into Frank's lap. The wolf looked a little taken aback but he didn't protest.

"I remember when I used to sit with you like this when we watched a movie together," Marcus grinned.

"So do I," Frank replied, putting an arm around Marcus.

"Did you miss it?"

"I did," Frank admitted. "Sometimes there are things only unique to one person that are hard to replicate."

Marcus nodded and they sat in silence for a minute. He wanted to enjoy Frank's company without words. The light outside was growing dimmer, but Marcus forgot about eating as he settled himself against Frank's chest.

"I bet you didn't imagine this a few weeks ago?" he teased.

"Nope."

"I imagine you're going to make a joke about me being a fox and getting with lots of guys in a short space of time," Marcus said with a nervous chuckle.

"Tempting, but I won't," Frank shrugged before fixing Marcus a smile. "How about we have some wine?"

"Hmm, I think I'm good for now. I want to enjoy moments like this sober rather than do something impulsive drunk," Marcus replied before fixing Frank a grin. "Let's have wine after."

"Good idea."

Marcus hesitated and then leant up to nuzzle himself against Frank's neck fluff. The wolf looked a little surprised, but he smiled and allowed Marcus to keep nuzzling.

He could hear birds singing pleasantly outside. A family of bluejays were nesting in the tree close to the treehouse and as Marcus watched, a robin briefly sat at the kitchen window, chirped a song and flew off again.

"You know, the more I think about it, this place isn't actually that bad," Marcus reasoned. "I mean, if I get rid of all the annoying childhood memories, it's quite pretty."

"It is," Frank agreed. "That's what I came to think. The birds are all doing one last forage before the night draws in."

"Since when did you learn about nature?"

"Oh, I'm always learning new things," Frank shrugged. "It's never too late to learn."

Marcus nodded in agreement, and then started to wonder what he had learned.

"You know, rather than write that coming out story, I'm feeling more inclined to do something related to the topic on learning new stuff," he mused out loud.

"Hmm, coming out is a story people can relate to," Frank replied. "Why not combine the two, coming out with what you have learnt about life since?"

"You know that's not a bad shout," Marcus said, weighing up the idea in his mind. "What have I discovered though? I like writing, getting drunk and being with lots of men."

"Is there anything else in there that's more substantial?"

"I don't know," Marcus sighed.

It had almost grown dark outside and the evening almost looked like winter as opposed to summer.

"One thing I haven't missed about England is the long winter nights," Marcus sighed.

"Well, we have a month or so before those start drawing in," Frank said. "I don't think they're so bad. We have fur for a reason. You can go to the pub for a glass of red wine, walk home, and then cuddle up in a blanket beside a log fire with a cup of hot chocolate."

"That does sound nice," Marcus agreed. "Did you do that while I was away?"

"Yeah, although it would have been nicer to have someone to do it with," Frank lamented.

"Well, now maybe you do," Marcus grinned.

"Okay, I am going to have to comment on you going from Ralph to me in quick succession!" Frank laughed.

"Hey, you didn't resist the other night," Marcus countered.

"True, although the wine may have had something to do with that."

Marcus looked up at Frank and the urge to kiss the wolf flashed through his mind. Frank had his muzzle angled up as if he was expecting it.

Come on, you went far enough yesterday with no problems.

He mentally took a deep breath and gave Frank a small peck on his cheek fluff.

Frank looked taken aback for a moment and then he started laughing.

"Hey!" Marcus protested. "Look, I'm sorry, the way you were sitting made it look like you wanted a kiss."

"It's not the kiss itself," Frank chuckled. "In fact, I was expecting more than that."

"Oh, were you now?" Marcus said, his anxiety was replaced by a sly grin. He readjusted himself in Frank's lap, causing the wolf to yelp and wince. "What happened?"

"You just elbowed me in the balls, I do want to keep my ability to have cubs," Frank groaned.

"Sorry, I sure know how to be romantic," Marcus sighed.

"It's okay," Frank said, regaining his composure. "Why don't we sit on the sofa or lay down, so my balls don't get crushed?"

Marcus slid off Frank's lap to allow the wolf to stand up. Frank got to his hind-paws and Marcus couldn't help but smile as the wolf took his paw.

They walked to the living room and sat down on the sofa.

"Music?" Marcus suggested.

"Sure."

"Hmm, what is in my dad's taste that used to embarrass me, but is now perfect for a nostalgia trip?" Marcus thought aloud as he browsed through the vinyl discus. "Aha!"

"A-ha?" Frank replied. "I didn't think you had a copy of them?"

"Gosh, you're too young to make dad jokes, but then again you're almost thirty," Marcus grinned as he put the disc on the turntable.

"I'll pretend I didn't hear that," Frank grumbled.

"And no, I found one of my dad's favourites, suitably uncool, now a fond memory," Marcus announced.

The sound of Never Let Her Slip Away by Andrew Gold filled the room.

"This song is cool," Frank laughed. "I always thought so anyway, and there was me thinking you were going to play Lonely Boy?"

"That's the song I would have played when I first arrived in Little Hartbrook," Marcus said as he sat back down next to Frank.

They sat in silence and listened to the music.

Marcus remembered his father playing the record while he sat in the armchair in the corner, smoking a cigar or drinking a glass of whiskey while he read the newspaper.

A fleeting memory of when he was nine or so entered his mind.

Those record sleeves look so cool. I want to touch one!

"Marcus, put that down, you'll break it!" his father had sighed. "Janice, why is Marcus downstairs? I thought it was past his bedtime."

"Not now Jeremy, I'm trying to finish off this trifle I promised I'd take to the Harrison's party tomorrow!"

As Marcus had gotten older his father became less finicky about him pulling out a record sleeve to examine, in fact he rarely looked up from his newspaper as Marcus carefully flipped through them.

And now a few years later he was now sitting on the sofa with Frank listening to them, something they had never actually done when they were mated.

Trying new things together, this is interesting.

The record eventually came to an end and was replaced by the dull clicking sound to show this.

Marcus let out a yawn.

"Bedtime?" Frank laughed.

"Probably," Marcus replied.

He wondered whether to shower, but another yawn rattled through his body. He stood up before undressing to his underwear and settling himself down on the airbed. Frank also stripped down to his briefs and followed Marcus onto the bed, but without saying anything he reached out and pulled his phone from his pile of clothes.

"Looking at your phone in bed? That's not very tactful," Marcus teased.

"Oh, Gareth had messaged me," Frank explained. "It's funny, he has no news but wanted to message to tell me he's okay, like someone would do to their dad."

"Aww, so are you signing the adoption papers already," Marcus grinned.

"Only if you want an unruly teenager in your life."

"Ugh, no thanks."

They laughed and Marcus felt himself relax as Frank settled down beside him.

"Speaking of looking after people, I ought to stop by the Mansfield place tomorrow to check the old vixen is okay," Frank said.

"I think an ancient vixen armed with a shotgun who has lived in that house all her life should be able to take care of herself," Marcus laughed.

"Don't be rude," Frank replied with a wry grin.

"I'm not, I'm just stating a fact!" Marcus retorted. He was about to add more but he cocked his ear as he heard the sound of faint jangling outside. "What's that?"

Frank frowned as he listened out.

"Oh that's probably the village morris dancers," the wolf shrugged. "They're rehearsing for the upcoming festival."

"I like how you're so matter of fact when you say that," Marcus chuckled. "I remember them, bunch of weirdos, haha!"

"Eh, it's quite a nice tradition to have," Frank yawned. "Even if people think it's weird."

"You try to appreciate everything, don't you," Marcus said.

"Yeah, is that a bad thing?"

"No, it's just not many guys do that," Marcus reasoned.

"Well, I'm glad you see it as a positive thing," Frank nodded. "Now, I'd better turn out the light."

Marcus watched as Frank stood to turn the light off. He couldn't help but admire the sight of the wolf's butt in his underwear.

I remember when I used to slap it sometimes. Is that such a good idea?

Before Marcus knew what he was doing, he reached out and gave Frank's rump a hearty slap.

Frank whipped around and looked shocked.

"Sorry, was that bad?" Marcus asked with a nervous smile.

"I remember when you did that, and I can't say I missed it," Frank replied with something close to a grin as he turned the light off.

The wolf set himself down on the bed and Marcus was almost bounced off.

"Careful!" he protested.

"Sorry," Frank grinned in the darkness.

Marcus sighed and rolled over to face Frank. The wolf was laying on his back and Marcus could see his chest gently rising and falling.

He reached over a put a paw on Frank's chest to feel the wolf's breathing.

"That's not a touch I've felt in a long time," Frank whispered.

The wolf rolled over to face Marcus and fixed him a faint smile.

"You never thought you'd feel it again?" he asked.

"Nope."

Marcus traced his paw gently up and down Frank's stomach. The wolf let out something that sounded like an appreciative growl. He kept tracing his paw lower until he reached the waistband of Frank's underwear.

"I'm not even drunk," Marcus chuckled to himself.

"You're basically implying something else about yourself," Frank replied.

"Charming!" Marcus laughed as he put his paw over the outline of Frank's sheath.

Frank remained still as Marcus continued feeling him up through his briefs. The tip of the wolf's cock was already protruding free of its sheath and Marcus gently eased Frank's sheath down further through the fabric of his underwear.

"So, after the awkwardness of last night we're now back to this again," he said.

Marcus' paw retreated.

"Is that bad?" Marcus asked cautiously.

"I'm not really a one, or two night stand kind of guy," the wolf sighed.

"Maybe it doesn't have to be," Marcus reasoned.

Frank hesitated.

"Maybe not," he eventually said.

Marcus grinned as he continued feeling Frank, gently stroking the tip of the wolf's cock through his briefs. He rolled over to press his muzzle to the wolf's bulge, but he bounced on the airbed and head-butted Frank in the stomach.

"Ouch!"

"Sorry," Marcus said sheepishly. He reached out and eased Frank's underwear down. The wolf's semi-erect cock flopped out. Marcus gripped it in his paw and began stroking the shaft. "Want more?"

"I guess so."

"I can tell you want more given how it's behaving in my paw," Marcus grinned. He repositioned himself to close his lips around the tip but Frank simultaneously shifted and Marcus was bounced off the bed. "Ouch!" he exclaimed as he hit the floor.

"You know, if you're really this horny we could do this on the bed upstairs?" Frank suggested.

"Okay," Marcus sighed as he tried climbing back onto the airbed only for Frank to bounce him off again as he sat up. "Some people say size difference is sexy, it's not when you're trying to do it on this thing."

Frank chuckled and shook his head as Marcus followed him up the stairs.

"I know you have a phobia of the bed upstairs, but it won't toss us out if we move on it."

"Let me change the sheets first," Marcus insisted.

He hurried out of the bedroom and found a spare set in the airing cupboard.

"You're the last person I'd expect to insist on something so fastidious before having sex," Frank sighed.

"Keep your erection up!" Marcus called back as a bunch of sheets became dislodged and fell on top of him. "You're a wolf after all," he added in a muffled tone as he dug himself out.

"If you have a stash of porn around here that might help," Frank said sarcastically.

"Okay, fine, I'll keep the old sheets!"

Marcus hurried back into the bedroom to find Frank idly stroking his dick.

"Ready?" the wolf sighed.

"Yes, now get on the bed."

Frank climbed onto the bed and Marcus' paws began venturing up his hind-paws. The wolf's underwear were still covering his balls and butt, but Marcus tugged them down further before lapping his tongue at Frank's balls.

The wolf stirred and let out a low growl as Marcus kept licking.

Gosh, those growls are deeper than the ones he used to do.

Marcus kept licking earnestly before he closed his muzzle around Frank's shaft again. He worked his way up and down, gripping Frank's dick at the base. He teased the tip with his tongue while jerking at Frank's shaft.

Frank let out another low growl before putting a paw behind Marcus' head to keep him in place.

Marcus felt the wolf buck forwards and a second later his muzzle was filled with a warm load. He remained in place, making sure he got all of it before collapsing beside Frank and panting.

"How was that?" Marcus asked, licking his lips.

"You've gotten skilled, that's for sure," Frank chuckled.

Marcus grinned before rolling onto his side to face Frank.

"I can't believe you've not had a serious relationship since me," Marcus said, propping himself up on his elbow.

"Hmm." Frank replied in a neutral tone.

A look of sadness clouded the wolf's eyes and Marcus felt a pang of guilt. Keeping himself propped on his elbow, he leaned over to give Frank a kiss, but the wolf suddenly rolled over as his phone buzzed, causing Marcus to lose his balance and almost fall on top of Frank.

"Ever the romantic," Marcus muttered to himself as Frank read the message.

"Gareth has news it seems," Frank said. "Let's see what it is."
