A/N: Yeah, it's been awhile. Not a lot of free time to do much anymore, but I'm managing to get done what I can. Anyways I hope you like this new story I made. Okay, to avoid anything, I read this comic where two furs meet their end by a nuke. Tragic I know, but in my story, it's COMPLETELY different, just to be on the safe side. Anyways, criticism, and suggestion are welcome. Flames are not. Anyways, enjoy this new story?

Chapter 1 - A New hope

It was peaceful and serene January 1st Night and everyone in Airborne City, Illinois was enjoying the celebration of the New Year of 2099. Yes, Furkind have just entered the teleportation age, the Hover Car had already been invented, just in case you're wondering. Anyways, Far off, about 14 miles south, there was a small, two story cabin, surrounded by trees, and nearby was a 200 Maiximus model, Black hover car. But never mind that. *Skipping ahead after the Snow Leopard and Lioness had *Played*, It was now dark out and the stars were shining brighter now. In the cabin Master bedroom, a fur stirred from its sleep, making grunt noises, and by the way they sounded, it was a male.

Markus had awoken from his slumber after his little excavation with his girlfriend, Alexandra. Not being able to resist, he leaned down and kissed her on the cheek, causing her to let out a purr of appreciation. Taking great care, he slowly pulled himself of her being careful not to disturb her; she gasped in her sleep, snuggled into the pillow, purred happily and continued to sleep. Markus let out a small chuckle at the little scene. He quickly, carefully, precisely got out of the covers, and off the bed. As he stood up, he suddenly remembered that he was still nude. As much as he liked being in all his furry glory, he bent down and pulled his pants up, making his appearance decent, even though it was just him and Lover there.

Now that he was clothed, he carefully made his way out of the bed, being careful not to bump into anything, seeing as how it was still dark. Along his way, his toe claws clicked with each step on the tiled floor making a light -click click- patter. He growled to himself, worried that Alex would wake from her sleep. He made a mental note to trim his claws later.

Now, he arrived at his destination, the kitchen. Markus made his way over the fridge; he rubbed eyes, trying to shake of the sleepiness that still plagued him. He leaned over slightly, placed his paw on the door handle, gripped it, and pulled. As he pulled the door open, he flinched and hid his eyes, blocking the light that jumped out of the fridge and on to him, making his shadow behind him grow, till head was on the ceiling.

'Hmm, what to eat...' Markus thought, while letting his eyes travel up and down the shelves. 'Well, I could have some sausage... on second thought, I REALLY don't want to be in the bathroom for the next two hours. Steak, maybe... Nah, last time I had leftover steak, nearly lost a tooth... Guess I'll have a beer.' He reached in and grabbed the green bottle. As he pulled it out, he closed the door, reached for the light switch, and flicked the lights on.

"That's better, didn't see why I didn't think of that in the first place." Markus said to himself while popping the top. Placing the tip of the opening to his lips he took a sip and let the cool liquid slid down his throat. The moment it went past, the Snow Leopard let out a purr of satisfaction.

"Ahhhh, MUCH better, not a good as cunt juices, but still, delicious." Markus said to himself while leaving the kitchen; turning off the light.

Now, that he was in the living, he plopped on to the couch, and continued to drink his beer. As he continued to drink, he only looked out the window of the cabin, seeing the distant lights threw a narrow path of trees. As he continued to stare, he didn't the light pitter patter of someone walking in on him.

"That was rather rude of you, leaving me in the room alone, jerk.' A feminine voice joked from behind him. Markus jumped a bit in his seat from the sudden brake in the silence, but smirked at who it was that was behind him.

"Sorry Alex, I didn't mean to take that long away from you." The Snow Leopard said, not bothering to turn around. He didn't have to either; Alexandra now placed her paws on his shoulders, and slid them downwards till they connected at his waist. She now nestled her muzzle on the side of his neck, and purred loudly. Markus just chuckled.

"Well well. Looks like someone is eager" Markus commented while placing the half empty beer bottle on the table next to him, and leaned back, sharing in her warmth. In a fluent motion, Alex moved around the couch, and took a seat next to him, and rested herself against the snow leopard.

"Well, that's just great, now I can't sleep." Markus said, turning to look at the lioness that was now next to him. She was in a slick, see-through dress. That gave a good view of her breast. They were a perfect D-cup, although the nipples were covered by some fur.

"Well I know of a way, which can help get back to sleep..." She slurred while now moving to her paws and knees, leaning forward.

"I just might take you up on that offer." He responded while taking both of her cheeks in his paws and pulled her into a kiss. Alexandra murred deeply, and placed both her paws on his around his neck and pressed herself against him, pushing him back on to the couch. As the pair giggled, and continued to kiss one another, a distant boom was heard through the walls of a cabin. The feline couple, stopped what they were doing, and looked up to see what that noise was. Both Markus and Alexandra made their way to the window only to see a bright flash of white in the distant. The flash was so bright, both feline covered their eyes. A sudden realization just hit Markus. And if he was right, the collision would hit in the next 20 seconds!

"Alex, Get Down!"

"What?"

"Don't ask, Just Do It!" Markus commanded while pulling her down, on to him. Thanks to her being lighter than him, she fell onto him pretty easily. Just as they hit the ground, the glass imploded inwards causing them to fly into the cabin not only that, but the roof of the cabin was now blown off completely. Alex shrieked from the crackling sound of breaking class, and splintering wood snapping and clung to Markus's body, trying to avoid the flying glass and any falling debris from the roof. Markus in turn held her close to him, as some of the glass landed on them.

After waiting a bit, they got up and dusted off the glass that fell on them. Now shaken and scared, Alexandra turned to Markus with a look of fear.

"Markus, W-what was that?" she asked while holding on to his arm.

"That Alex was the first wave of a nuclear bomb." Markus said calmly while looking out of the use to be window.

"A Nuke, How?!" she asked while moving closer to him, while hanging on to his arm. "There was no bomb and If that's so, then wouldn't of we been evacuated a long time ago?" she asked.

"I know, but that's the thing, there was never a bomb in the first place, and even if there was, the news would have alerted us." He said while biting the tip of his claw. "But how is that possible, how could the bomb squad NOT have known this?!"

Not being able to answer he just continued to think, but his train of thought was cut short when he heard another boom, this time it sounded louder than the last. "Another one?!" he asked, while looking horrified. He turned his attention to Alexandra, only to see a horror stricken look now plastered on her face.

"Alex, what is it?" he asked.

She didn't answer she only pointed out the window, her lip quiver all the while! He turned his attention to the outside, only to see a column of red fire rise into the sky, and part the clouds apart, and expand outwards into a mushroom like appearance. The city disappeared in the light of rising fire, as did the trees near it. The range got larger, and larger and larger still. Alexandra was screaming and covering her ears from the sound. Whereas Markus only looked on, and his pupils began to grow smaller, and a sweat drop fell down the side of his head. He fears were confirmed, and he knows what type of nuke it was...

...It was a Megaton Bomb!

And if this was the second blast than he knew that the air blast would be faster. Not bothering to hesitate, he grabs her by the wrist, and pulled her down with him and just in time too. The airwave ripped through top half of the cabin, causing it to fly off.

Markus looked like he was staring death in the face, his face went pale with realization, there was NO WAY a megaton bomb could be THAT strong, it just wasn't possible!

'That's impossible! A Megaton bomb can't do that, unless..." when he came to the conclusion, all the color left his face. 'Dear God, help us...'

"Markus..." Alexandra voice called out to him, it was quivering, full of fear. "Are- are we... going to.... Die..." she choked out, tears falling from her face onto his.

"As much as I hate to admit it, but, without a miracle, I'm afraid so." He said while looking into her eyes.

Hearing those words come from his muzzle, she knew that their fates were sealed. "I see... well, if we do die, than, I would like for you to know that..." she bit her lip before continuing, "I've always loved you. Ever since we were 5 year old kittens."

The confession, made him smile.

"I've always loved you too." He admitted.

Even in the midst of what was going on, they felt at peace.

"Before we die... kiss me, one more time." She begged.

Markus only smiled and brought her muzzle to his, and they engaged in a passionate lip-lock, completely ignoring the destruction all around. As they continued to kiss, the sky turned a blood red color. After a solid 2 minutes, they broke off and smiled, while they just lay there, a sudden noxious smell filled the air, causing them both to cough and gag. The Oder was so strong; Alex was the first to pass out from the odor. Markus on the other paw, his head fell to the side and his eye lids began to fall slowly, as he continued to try to stay conscious, he began to think over and over, about why this was happening.

'Dammit, Dammit, Dammit! Why? Why did this have to happen, there's still so much I want to do... I... wanna live, I WANT TO LIVE!' he shouted in his mind. Just as he thought that, a pair of white foot paws suddenly appeared in front of him. He tried to look up with what little strength he had, but the temptation of sleep was too strong to resist any longer, just when he saw that it was leaning down, he blacked out into silent darkness, but before he unconscious completely, he heard a voice call out to him. "Ask, and you shall receive, Markus.

Markus awoke with a sudden jolt, when he felt coldness on his bare back, only to see a darkened sky with stars, and white fluffs of snow falling gently onto him. A sudden realization came to him in a heartbeat.

He was alive...

He sat up, and began to examine his physical features.

"Okay, I'm alive. Now let's see, arms?" He stood up, and moved his arms around.

"Okay, I still have my arms. Next, the legs..."

He moved his legs to see they were still attached.

"Okay, Legs still work. Now for the tail..." moved his tail around, feeling it still there.

"Alright, old fluffy is still there." He said while breathing out in relief. Just as he let out a breath a sudden common knowledge suddenly hit him.

Alexandra was missing.

He frantically began looking around for his girlfriend calling her name. Just when he looked to the left of him, he saw her body, lying there. In an instant he was down on his knees beside her and shaking her to wake up.

"Alex, Alex! Hey, wake up!" he called out trying to wake her. In response, her eyes squinted, and then slowly opened her eyes, seeing who was waking her up.

"Mark, do you have to be so loud? C'mon let me- Markus!" she said while sitting up quickly, seeing her boyfriend right before her. "A-are we... alive?" she asked while expecting herself. Making sure that everything was intact.

"It would seem so, I mean, look at us, we're perfectly still intact." Markus said while turning around in front of her.

"I guess we are." She said while standing up, expecting herself once more to make sure that nothing was missing. "But how, we were staring death right in the face. How could we have survived that blast?" She asked while looking at him directly.

"Got me." Markus replied while shrugging his bare shoulders. "But that's the weird part. Even though we survived, shouldn't we have radiation poisoning?"

"What?" Alex asked in a panicked voice while looking over herself; checking to see if anything was missing or messed up.

"Well, I don't see anything wrong, nor do I feel anything wrong. You?" he asked.

"Nothing, same as you." Alex replied while letting out a breath of relief "But still, How did we live through that?" she asked.

Oh good, you're awake, that's good to know." Said a cheery voice.

Both felines quickly turned around to see and figure sitting on a log, just sitting here, while smiling.

Markus jumped in front of Alex, ready to defend her from the shady character.

"Whoa whoa, easy man. I'm no enemy. Slow your roll." Said the figure holding up both paws in defense.

As Markus began to relax, he was inspecting the figure over. He, clearly because of his partially deep voice, was a cross breed, consisting of both Leonine, and Snow Leopard traits. Although he had the tail turf of a lion, he also had the spots of a snow leopard which were clearly evident on his face. There really wasn't much to say about his outfit, all it really was, was just a long white cloak, with a hood on the end, and long sleeves which ended at his paws. He had a turf of white head fur, which was in opposition of his light brown fur and spots. They couldn't see his eyes, because they were blocked by a funky looking goggle, they had lines on the side, which were flashing from a sky blue, to an indigo color.

"Right, so tell us, who are you, what are you and what are you doing here?" Markus asked.

"Well, in order, my Name is Line, please to meet cha'. As for what I am, I'm a Snow Lion. And in case you are wondering, I'm a crossbreed resulting from a Male Snow Leopard and a Lioness, as you can see" he said.

"So are there many of your kind?" Alexandra asked. "Oh yeah, we're all over the place, we're just really good at hiding. And as for why I'm here..." he paused. Causing them to look at him questioning. "You really wanna know?" he asked.

"That's what I asked." Markus replied, slightly irritated.

"Well, I suppose I can tell you THAT much." Line responded.

"What do you mean?" Alex asked.

"uh, nothin. Anyways, in case you're wondering" he paused, then gave them a serious, no-nonsense look. I'm the one who saved you from that megaton bomb blast.

"What?!" they both said in unison.

That's right. I'm the guy who saved ya." He said.

"Wait, if that's true, then how did you escape the blast radius? With us too." Alex asked. Line looked around to make sure that no one was listening in on them, then again... how could anyone, when it was just the three of them.

"Listen, I can't tell you guys 'Why?' or 'How?' right now. Currently, it's too dangerous here as it is. And even if I did, I doubt that you would believe me." Line replied while standing up from the log.

"what makes you think that we won't believe you?" Alex asked.

Because, I rather show and tell, rather than just tell. Besides, talking would take WAAAAY too long." Line replied while stepping over the log. "Come on, just follow me and all will be explained, well... not everything really." Line said while leading the way.

Not seeing any options left, Markus and Alexandra just looked at each other, shrug, and followed the Snow Lion.

*A/N: So ,what did you think? I know, I know. The sudden rescue by a Snow Lion was a little unexpected. As for HOW he saved them, I'll leave that for the later chapters. Well, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Look forward to more. Till then, Laters.
