Rejection
#2 of Are you there?
Hmm well this parts kind of lame. (Mental Note: You can not do emotional scenes) It also is completely yiff free. Personally I think it's crap, but it took me a few hours to write up, so I may as well put it up as the next part. Anyway I promise some more intimate things in the next chappie, sorry guys.
Chapter 2
Voice: "Are you there?"
Sunao: "Ray?"
Voice: "Are you there?"
Sunao: "Oh, it's you, I'm here..... I think"
Voice: "..."
Sunao: "..."
Voice: ".... Liar"
Sunao: "What?"
Voice: "..."
Sunao: "Wait, come back, what do you mean?"
Sunao opened his eyes and looked around, it was still dark. "Liar huh?" he whispered to himself. Picking himself of the bed, he padded over to the window. His body felt light, his mind felt empty, his heart care free. Yet there was no motivation to do anything. He clenched his fist digging his nails into his palms, but it didn't hurt. Looking around his bare room, a crumpled note caught his eye. "Ray?" he slowly walked over and picked the note up. His hands must be numb, since he couldn't feel the paper. He slowly read the note aloud. Something inside his chest seared with pain for a split second, then vanished. Sunao closed his eyes trying to picture the wolf. But nothing came to mind. He opened his eyes and read through it for the fifth time. This time there was no reaction, He looked at the note again, and making sure there was no reaction, he scrunched the paper up, and threw it in the corner. Slumping himself against the bed, he stared blankly at his paws.

Morning

The door opened and someone stood in the doorway, "Hey sweetie, your ball of fur hasn't gone to school yet." Sunao's ear twitched. "Oh it's only him." Footsteps could be heard from somewhere and soon a woman came running into the room. "Stupid boy, your late, go go go!" The woman dragged him to his feet and shoved him down the stairs. Miraculously he hadn't stumble and made it down the stairs unharmed. "Get going kid" the man shouted. Sunao obliged. Wandering out the door he headed for school.
As he started on the second flight of stairs, he glimpsed the wolf standing at the top waiting for him. But when he reached the top, the corridor was deserted. He stared down the corridor, he could see his classroom from here. He guessed he was about an hour or so late. But honestly didn't care if he was late. He opened the door, and everyone's attention shifted to him. Everyone except the dark wolf. His English teacher stared at him expectantly, a tall blonde ferret that swished her tail and slim hips around as she walked. "I've heard about your disruptive behavior from Mrs. Cambridge, Your 2 hours late, what do you have to say for yourself?" the ferret growled angrily, Sunao looked up making eye contact with the teacher. "Sorry" he whispered nearly inaudibly. Everyones attention was re-directed at the wolf, expecting him to stand up and save the fox from the wrath of his teachers. But the wolf remained staring out the window. Sunao not hearing a response from the teacher decided he'd been excused, and took his seat. The class one again re-directed their attention towards the teacher, expecting her to explode. "Umm yes, err now where were we? Ah yes Sarah, could you please keep reading from the top of page 48?" Sunao just sat in his seat and stared at his desk throughout the lesson. Even if he had been amongst the land of the living, he hadn't brought his bag or it's contents.
The lesson ended and the chime went, signaling the beginning of recess, the Beagle whined quietly and kept it's distance. Understanding that Sunao was best left alone. But someone else was completely oblivious of how Sunao was feeling. "Hey new kid, I heard your friend ignored you after I left yesterday." Sunao didn't even bother to look up. So the girl continued "Your not really that great a friend if he wont even bother talking to you, don't you think?" Again Sunao just stared at his desk. "Hey, are you really friends, or did you just say that to show off?" Sunao clenched his fist, but no one seemed to have noticed. No one except a single red eye. "Say, do you even have any friends? Or are you just one of those attention seekers?" Sunao unclenched his fist and looked up to face the girl. "Didn't think you....what?" she asked sarcastically. "Stop looking at me like that, your freaking me out." Sunao, just stared at her blankly. "Don't look at me freak!" She shouted as she turned around to go back to her group of friends. Taking that as his cue, the wolf stood up and grabbed the white foxes wrist. But Sunao refused to move. "Sunao I need to talk to you" the wolf mumbled coldly. Sunao felt the ice cold grip, but it didn't seem as cold as it was yesterday. He stared at the hand for a moment, then swiped at the fingers that held him with his other paw.
A drop of blood fell to the neatly polished wooden floor board, followed by another, then another. "Oh my god" someone shouted, but neither Sunao or Ray took any notice. The wolf still refused to let go. Sunao looked down at the bleeding fingers, blood was seeping out rapidly, must have cut deep he thought to himself, he looked up at the wolf's red eyes and quoted the letter.
"It would be appreciated if you stop trying to make contact with me."
Ray removed his hand as the chime went signaling the end of recess. Silence filled the class and then the door opened. As the Maths teacher came in. "what's going on here" she yelled as she approached the white fox. "B-b-blood?" she stammered as she saw the wound. She took a few steps back and screeched at an unbelievable pitch "Get out, get out, get out!" Sunao stood up and shuffled out of the class, "Detention! No suspension! No expulsion! Just don't come back here" the parrot screeched. As Sunao shuffled down the corridor, it seemed every teacher in the school had given their students permission to see what the commotion was about. A few students who were still not in their class backed away from his blood covered paws. Slowly descending the stairs he departed from the school.
Guessing his mother would have left the house to go bed her boyfriend by now, he decided he might as well go home. It was a good thing it was a working day, since there wasn't too many furs about. The few that were just looked at him funny, while others jumped into the nearest vehicle or store to get away. One raccoon he passed, probably a college student was so startled and afraid he ran into the closest store, which just happened to be a store that specialized in lingerie. Something told him it was funny, but he didn't think it was. He noticed a small park up ahead. And decided he'd spend the some time there. 2 mothers and their children were playing happily in the sand pit, but as soon as Sunao took a seat at a nearby bench then picked their children up and hurried away. "People hate me that much huh?" he though dully. As he stared of into nothingness.
Voice: "..."
Sunao: "..."
Voice: "..."
Sunao: "..."
Voice: "Just cause I don't wanna have sex!"
Sunao: "?"
Voice: "Don't mean I'm having an affair, dammit!"
Sunao: "???"
Voice: "Hey a cute little foxy woxy"
Sunao opened his eyes, the street lamps had turned on, and it had become pretty dark. "Heylo foxy woxy!" someone called from the darkness. Sunao looked blankly at the outline of an approaching figure. "Aww he's all alone, poor little foxy woxy." Was the figure making fun of him? "Want little old me to keep you company?" the blonde ferret asked as she came into the light. "Miss Duran?" Sunao asked questioningly, the ferret smilied, "Aww he knows me" she whined seductively. Sunao looked at her a slight shimmer of curiosity revealing itself. "But just call me baby, or bitch if you're giving it to me from behind" she whispered in Sunao ear as she put her arm around him. A strong scent hit his nostrils. "Miss?" The woman grabbed his paw "Aww what's this did the little foxy woxy hurt himself, let me lick it up for you. "Miss?" Sunao tried again. "Don't worry just had a few bloody Mary's, I wonder if bloody foxy woxy tastes the same?" Sunao shook his hand free of the ferrets grip, "Stop" he said quietly. "Aww does foxy woxy want a kissy wissy then?" the ferret placed her face right in front of Sunao's a slight bump was all it would take. Something flashed, and Sunao jumped up, "Get off me miss" he snarled angrily. The woman looked at him seductively one last time, "Finally, she whispered as she jumped of the bench and walked away two paces from the fox."What?" Sunao asked confused. The woman turned smiled and wagged her tail behind her as she knelt over. "You
finally showed an emotion" she said happily. "Umm what?" he asked confused. The woman smiled again, "I was beginning to think you were a heartless robot like that wolf that sits next to you in class."
Sunao flinched and then looked down at his paw, the blood had dried. "Hey hey hey, don't go back to zombie mode, you cuter when your alive." Sunao looked sadly at the ground. The teacher fell silent then walked up to him. "Are you there?" she whispered. Sunao snapped his head up, expecting her to be nothing more then a ownerless voice. But was somewhat relieved to see her still standing there. "Yoohoo little foxy woxy, don't make me go all drunk on you again" she sang in a happy sing-song voice. Waving and snapping her paws infront of him as if he were blind.
Sunao looked up at the smiling ferret then back at his paw. "Did I....?" he asked the woman as tears began to well up in his eyes. The woman smile wavered a bit, "well you didn't mean too and..."
"Just tell me!" he shouted, louder then he intended too. "The injury wasn't as bad as it looked" she continued. "Shut up! I don't deserve words of comfort!"
The woman's smile disappeared, "You sliced his paw up enough for him not to be able to write for at least a few weeks."
Sunao felt the strength leave his legs "no."
"He'll be spending a good few days in hospital because of your temper"
It was starting to hurt to breathe, "stop"
"Of course, it'll leave a permanent scar that he'll have to live with for the rest of his life"
Blue cerulean eyes were transformed into twin waterfalls, "I didn't mean to...." his legs gave ways as he collapsed miserably on the floor."That's what you get got telling me to shut up" the ferret snarled. Sunao couldn't care less about what the woman had said, he wouldn't mind if he wasn't beaten to death in atonement for his actions. "And" the woman continued. Sunao didn't want to hear anymore, he'd have told her to stop had he been able to pull himself out of the ocean of misery. "that's what you get for acting stronger then you really are" she whispered. As she offered her shoulder for him to cry on. Sunao clung to his older ferret like a lost pup that had just found his mother, as he cried his heart out. "There, there, take your time, I'll drive you home when your finished"
The ride home so far had been a quick silent one. Not a single word had been exchanged between the two. He felt somehow relieved that everyone hadn't shunned him completely. He promised himself over and over again, to go see the wolf as soon as school was over tomorrow. School.... now there was a scary thought. He would have skipped, but Miss Duran refused to give him any details on the hospital. Despite his english teachers assurance that it would be alright he still wasn't certain he was welcome there anymore. "So you really like him that much huh?"
Sunao was startled by the sudden question. "Well I feel responsible for... you know" he whined. The thought of facing the wolf was even more intimidating. "Well I'm going to have to do something about the teachers, want me to put in a word or two to the students while I'm at it?" Sunao smiled a bit, "Thanks, but anything I get I deserve." he said matter of factly. "Yeah, yeah, I thought I told you to stop acting all macho, anyway here we are my little homo, your humble abode"
Smiling at the comment, he got out of the car, "Firstly I'm not yours, secondly..." he said as he closed the door behind him, "you have no right to call me a homo." Winding down the window the ferret smiled, "and why is that?" she said as seductively as she could. Sunao smiled, your left breast, it's out of place" Sunao winked as he walked off.
