Under The Fireworks
This is a story that I thought of a while ago while I writing the other series and here it is on the fourth of july which is the day I wanted it to be on Enjoy! :)

"Mom can I please!" the young wolf begged on his knees. He had asked his mother if he could invite a friend over for when they go to downtown and watch the fireworks. "Um....... What's the word I'm looking for oh yeah that's right NO!" she shouted giving her son an angry glare but she knew deep inside that everything was falling into plan. "But mom... NO BUTTS! Now off to your room. The young wolf's ears fell down as a sign of defeat and walked off upstairs to his room. The older wolf smiles as she grabbed the cordless phone and called her son's friend mother.
In the room the young wolf was sitting on his bed sulking having just been beaten by his mother. The young wolf name was Michael he was a grey wolf that stood 5'5 and he was eight years old he had all the distinct features of a grey wolf his eyes were blue and filled with tears of sorrow. He had tried to convince his mother to let his friend sleepover today since the fourth of July was tomorrow. Michael exhaled and laid down on his bed. Just then there was a knock at the door downstairs. Michael groaned and got up off the bed to walk downstairs.
But just as soon as he opened the door the was a flash of blue fur and then starts. He had just been knocked down by his best friend. When he regained his senses he realized it was his friend. "Hey don't scare me like that.... Wait a minute what are you doing here! He yelled excitedly. "Well you're mom called my mom and she said it was okay if we had a sleepover." he said with a hint of giggle. "She also said that it was all her idea and that you didn't know a thing about it. He frowned after hearing something like that. His mother always had been playful especially when dad died she promised that she was going to take care of her son.
"Well since all your stuff is here there's only one thing to do" he said with a devious smile.
"And what would be that" he said with a hint of laughter
"Oh I don't know how about GETTING OFF ME! Michael said as he slip from under his friend, stood up and put him into a headlock.
Michael's mom heard a thud upstairs and sighed "well there they go at it again well I should bring a stop to this." "Let them play" said a blue vixen that was sitting on the couch. "No not what happen the last time they broke the bed up their wrestling. "Oh now I remember that's why he was acting weird when he came home last time."
"Boys no fighting don't make me have to come up there." This put an immediate stop to the wrestling act and the boys stood there facing each other. His friend that he knew ever since he was in kindergarten stood in front of him. Jaelenn. They met when and 3rd grader try to bully Jaelenn and of course Michael stepped in to help him. He had always been courageous type out of the two and since then the pair had been inseparable. A blue fox of course he never would had thought to see one in his life but he could never have a better. He only stood half an inch above him. The wolf grinned deviously "Race you downstairs" he said as he took off running.
While the wolf ran out of the room the young fox's eyes were glue to the his friend's furry bottom. He had a secret that he was gay nobody knew that he was gay except for the school's guidance counselor. He told her to never tell anyone even his parents. She told him the she would never tell a soul. Back to the present the young fox was sighing he had always had a crush on the wolf but would never tell him.
He decided to tell him during the fireworks tomorrow. This would give him the whole day to build up confidence and to have fun as always. He ran out of the room, down the stairs to find his friend already waiting for him. "So what was taking you slowpoke" he said with a triumphant smile. "Oh nothing its just that you're just to fast" he said sarcastically knowing that he would beat in a second. "Well come on downstairs son so I can say goodbye to you" the young fox mother said.
Jaelenn walked downstairs, gave his mother a hug, and waved to her goodbye as she was walking out the door. "Have fun during the fireworks son." "Don't worry I will" he said happily. "Well now since your hear you can take your stuff and go upstairs dinner will be ready in a minute" Jaelenn grab his bags and walked upstairs being accompanied by his friend, walked into room and dropped his stuff, and walked back downstairs. They sat at the table both hungry, muzzles watering, and tummy grumbling as the pasta was being cooked.
"Well boys it seems that you've made it here record time" she said as she was filling their plates with spaghetti. After that they began to attack their food. "Mmmm I love you mom's cooking how is it so good." he said muffled with food in his mouth. Michael's mother smiled at this she loved cooking. The wolf stop eating "well she isn't the head chef at a five star restaurant for nothing." he said returning to attack his food. "Who want seconds!" yelled his mother. "I do" said both simultaneously
After them finishing their food they ran upstairs into Michael's room to play games. "So what do you want to play." Reading all the game titles the young fox pulled out Little Big Planet. They started right away the rest of the day was filled with laughter and yells of success to completing levels and working together. But all good things have to come to an end as the wolf's mother yelled upstairs that it was time to get ready to go to bed. They turned the game off and got into their nightclothes, brushed their teeth and went off to bed
They both slept in the same bed and the both fell into slumber. The next morning Jaelenn woke up first with morning wood and blushed. He didn't want his friend to see him with a stiffy so he decided to walked into the bathroom and splash some cold water on his face to calm down and that seem to do the trick since it died down. He walked into the room and sighed. This would be the day he told his friend the big secret. He walked over to the bed and shook his friend awake. "Time to wake up sleepy head" he said pulling the covers off of him.
"Just one more minute mom" he said groggily starting to wake up. The fox giggled and walked over to his bag to pick out some clothes for the day and went off to take a shower. He had spent countless nights over there before and they didn't mind him using the shower every time he came over. He knew where everything was so he got all the essentials out and put them on the floor.
He turned on the shower to the desired temperature got in, washed himself, and got out. He didn't like to take long showers at someone else's house and started to dry off. At this point in time Michael was now starting to get dressed before he realized that he needed to take a shower for the day. So he stripped down naked, grabbed a towel and walked over to the bathroom.
Now Michael has a bad habit of knocking before opening the door and that's just what he did today. His eyes were now laid upon the his friend also naked. They gazed at each other for what seemed like hours until Michael had gained enough courage to talk. "Um.. I-I didn't know anyone was in here." Jaelenn was still staring at him not letting his gaze move off his crotch until he tore his gaze away. Until he realized that he was staring he grabbed his clothes, and ran out of the room and closed the door to his friend room.
The wolf still taken aback realized that he had a stiffy and decided not to worry about it and take his own shower. Since the fox had taken a shower earlier the shower wasn't that hot anymore so he got out early to. Back in the room the fox had put his clothes on but had a tent in his shorts due to the scene that happen earlier. The image stuck in his head didn't help him any bit then their was a knock at the door. This scared the young fox but thankfully it scared enough that there wasn't a tent in his shorts. Michael walked in with eyes looking down in a sorrowful manner. "I'm sorry about what just happened earlier" he said feeling like he was going to cry.
"Don't worry about that let's just forget about" he said while hearing a sigh of happiness. "Kids breakfast" yelled his mother and they both remembered how hungry they were and ran downstairs the fill the tummies up. They both sat a the table to find stacks of pancakes, bacon, eggs, sausages, and hash browns. They didn't waste now time in devouring everything is sight leaving them both with tummy aches. The older female shook her head in disappointment "Now don't go ruining your day already remember today is a big day we'll be seeing the fireworks today. We are going to leave at 7:30 sharp so be ready." They both groaned and walked upstairs to endure the rest of the torment that their bellies gave them.
"So do you want to finish the game of Little Big Planet" he asked. "Of course." he yelled. The day was practically just best friends playing together both getting into the game. Until the digital clock was flashing 7:15 on the clock they turned the game off and walked downstairs. As they were waiting for his mom to come downstairs to tell him. "Uh M-M-M-Michael can- can I tell you something" he said stuttering feeling scared of the reaction that his friend might give him. "Yea what is Jay" he had always called him that since kindergarten but rarely used it but he wanted to use it right now. The other fox became even more scared as to what his might think and started. "Well I wanted to- to tell you that I am-" that all he had to say before Michael's mother yelled "who's ready to go.
" Jaelenn sighed just he was about to tell him but on the other side he was happy because he couldn't ruin the rest of the day with a secret like that. So he decided to go with it and tell him at the end of the fireworks. They were all ready and excited to see the fireworks but they left early to get a better view since it was going to swarming with furs. The car ride there wasn't that long only 15 minutes but there was silence in the car except for the radio playing songs. Usually if the boys were together you could not get them to shut up until they were pooped but now they weren't even looking at each other. The older wolf thought something was wrong and probably they had a fight. But they would probably make up after the fireworks.
When they got their they started to get all the stuff out the cars like picnic basket, blanket to lay on, some of their on fireworks to shoot off and some sodas. When they got their it was not crowded that was a score for us since it was getting dark soon and that's when people started to come. They pick a hill that had tree on top of it which was a great place to go since it was a cool breeze in the air. "This is the best spot from miles" the older wolf said. The younger furs nodded their heads in agreement as they were setting up the place.
Now it was officially dark and the announcers were saying that it would start in five minutes. Everyone was quiet just waiting for the first fireworks to display in pattern in the night sky. Michael's mother had to make a run to the car to get her phone which was in the glove compartment. Jaelenn thought that this was now or never and decided to tell. Thankfully nobody was in view see what was going to happen between the boys.
"Hey um Michael" with a hint of fear in his voice
"Yeah what is it Jay" and there it was again that nickname that he had gave him really started to take affect on him which caused him to blush. Which showed up purple on his blue fur.
"Remember what I was trying to say earlier"
"Yeah what was that all about what were you trying to say"
"Well I wanted to tell you that-that I-" he was really struggling to say this and started to break down crying.
"Oh my gosh what's wrong" he said in a protective tone
"I'm gay" he whispered lowly that no one else could hear.
"What did you say"
"I'm gay Mike I'm so sorry"
Michael facial expression change to a look of surprise as he was cradling the young fox in his arms as his sob were calming down. "Why are you saying sorry for Jay" with a look of confusion. "Because I know you'll never be my friend again." he said bringing more tears to his eyes. "No I will never stop being your friend remember we were friends since kindergarten and that will never change." Jaelenn heart skipped a beat as he heard this and sat up and hugged him. "Thank you" he whispered into his ear
"Oh yeah can I tell you another secret."
"And what wou-" he cut-off by lips being pressed against his lips in a kiss. Michael was shocked from this action that his friend had just done. He never knew that he had a crush on him. But know it was as if he was falling in love with him. The wolf responded by kiss back then he noticed there was something poking at his lips. Michael gasped it was his tongue. This gave Jaelenn the opportunity to slip his tongue in to meet his. The wolf sighed when he felt the tongue reach his and their tongue began wrestling for what seem like hours but in reality it was only a minute
Michael broke the kiss and they both had a strand of saliva connecting their mouths together. Both gasping for breath "Wow I never knew you liked me that way Jay" he said panting in between breaths. Jaelenn giggled "I've always liked it when you called me that and likewise to you to." They both sat their staring into each others eyes until Michael's mother came back very out of breath it seemed that she had parked to far away. As soon as she sat down the fireworks starting going off in the night sky. All patterns of blue, red, green, purple, yellow, and pink were up in the night sky.
Everyone oohs and aahs as they watch the night sky exploding with colors. Michael and Jaelenn secretly loving each other hugged each other throughout the entire night. Michael's mother thought it was so heartwarming that they finally set aside their differences. After 2 hours of spectacular fireworks in the sky it came to a rest and everyone was starting to head home including them. The ride home was better than the ride there as they the two friends now mates were chatting about which one was the best comparing to them.
When they reach home it time for everyone to hit the sack as they all climbed the stairs to the respected rooms. Michael and Jaelenn now knowing about the love that they have for each other slept together again but unlike last time they stayed up for an hour of just kissing each other, and cuddling together in the bed until they both fell into the deep sleep knowing that the next day they would be together forever.
