Tango's Parents Chapter 1
#1 of Tango’s Parents
This is a backstory for my character, Tango. Yes, I know it's shit. The next chapters get longer but this is an overall short story.
"Hi, honey! How was your day?" Blu asks cheerfully.
"..." He says nothing. He has this kind of nervous look on his face.
"What...what is it? Don't tell me you got fired..."
"..." He hangs his head in shame.
"Ohhh, honey. Was it for the same reason?" She has a compassionate tone in her voice.
"Yeah..." Nate is a bit depressed at his inability to keep a steady job.
"Honey, you need to find something where you don't have to deal with people."
"But...the ones that pay the most are ones that deal with people..."
"They aren't gonna pay you at all if you get fired within a week."
Her words sadden him but they're true.
"We need some sort of income, Nate. You can't keep losing jobs like this. And what if you go too far?"
"Go too far? You aren't suggesting..."
He gets cut off.
"I am. You know how you are when you're like that. You always need someone else. You know you can't stop yourself."
He stays silent for a moment. He doesn't want to accept this reality.
"I don't know why I'm like this..."
"Ohhh it's ok honey..."
"Can you give me one more chance?" He looks at her, hopeful.
"Nate I..."
"Pleeeaaassseee?" He tries his best to look cute. As cute as a 6 foot 11 dragon can look.
"_Sigh _Fine. How about this, you can get whatever job you want, BUT! I will also work there. I'll always be by your side and keep you out of trouble."
He smiles big at her.
"I'd love that."
He hugs her. They embrace each other for a few more moments.
"Well, dinner is ready. Let's eat."
