An excerpt from a little experimentation pieces that's a crossover between Furry, superheroes, and magic of filmmaker David Lynch. Note: This is just a rough idea not sure if this'll be the one, but to be honest, I like this pretty good. Reviews and suggestions welcomed.

CamoK-9

I

CamoK-9 sprawled on top of the roof peering down into an alley at the bull punks who were pushing a young wolf around in a circle. “Jason, do you see what I see?"

“It's live and up in the monitor back home. My word, it would seem that this gang won't let up in their little fun."

CamoK-9 chuckled. “Fun? At the expense of someone who was just taking a short cut to get to the grocery store?"

“You do know that I was joking, right, sir?"

“Yeah, I know, but I'm not one for dark humor."

“Just approach with caution sir."

“Understood."

CamoK-9 ended his transmission. He took a small silver ball and dropped it below. His tool rolled and hit the shoe of one of the bulls. An earsplitting screech filled the air. Everyone, but CamoK-9 covered their ears, for he'd put in his ear plugs quickly. CamoK-9 dropped into the alley and kicked out the punks one by one. He then picked up his device, shut it off, and pocketed it. CamoK-9 went invisible again with his suit, but, as he was turning to leave, he felt someone grab him. He turned, wondering if it was one of the punks, and saw it was the wolf.

“Please, don't go, he's expecting you."

CamoK-9 froze. “What are you…" He felt a prick, saw a needle, and collapsed.

II

CamoK-9 felt his head throbbing like he'd rammed right into a brick wall. He looked around and found that the space he was in was dimly lit. From what he could see there was no window, only a wooden door, and the walls were solid concrete. Up above his eyes caught the ceiling glow that was giving illumination. It was circular, hanging by a string, swaying back and forth like a pendulum. CamoK-9 nearly became hypnotic to the sway, for, to be honest, it relaxed him deep inside. It made him forget his hardships as a hero for his city. A cold shiver made him snap to and shift to see ahead was a brown wooden desk. The desk was rotting away with termites crawling in and out of it. A name plate sat on it, but, there was no name on it.

“I'd like to hear your story," CamoK-9 shifted his head up to see a heavy man with short, slicked back brown hair staring at him. He held a small cube shaped case, that once he opened it, revealed a typewriter. “You've got quite the life Tyrone. I mean, you're a husky, but you're parents are of the cat breed. It's nothing offensive. I just find it intriguing is all. However, with what you've done thus far in your life, I'd like to make a small publication for my friends."

CamoK-9 looked over the man noticing this human was decked top to bottom in a grey suit with dress clothes to fit a reporter yet his shoes were that of sports sneakers like you'd wear to a gym. “Why are you interested in me? I'm not special. I go to work at a hospital and…"

The man sighed. “Seriously, we both know the other side of the coin," the man set his typewriter on the desk, reached into his pocket and retrieved a flask. “Life as a protector must be hard. I know the weight is heavy. You've dedicated your life to making sure the streets stay safe ever since that day. You know, when your best friend was tortured and killed before your eyes."

CamoK-9 growled. “Look, where am I, and what in the world do you want?"

III

The man reached into his desk and pulled out a metronome. He pulled it back gently and then let go of it. The device began to swing back and forth. For a minute the man didn't respond and it really ticked off CamoK-9. What the hell is this guy up to? Is he attempting to drive me mad and win some sort of game? CamoK-9 voiced inside his head. I don't know what he wants me to talk about, but I've got nothing for him. My life and its times belong to me. However, I get the feeling he won't let me go unless I give him something, which, if that's the case, I guess I could give the usual bit of the good, old sob story, but, I'll make sure not to reveal too much.

“Listen, before you open your mouth," the man said. “I have to tell you I already know everything about you. For goodness sakes one could argue I know you better than you."

“You a spy, or something?"

“No, Tyrone, I'm someone, who's just a big fan and wants a story to take to his friends."

“Alright, I'll bite. Ask me five questions and let me go."

“First question, have you ever lost sight of your motivation to do justice?"

“I can't say I have. I mean, ever since what I saw of my friend, my desire, it keeps getting stronger and stronger to make sure life for others, not just myself, is good."

“Second question, do you like help?"

“Only one other helps. He, or she will remain nameless."

“Third question, could you tell me, what are your dreams like?"

CamoK-9 scowled. “They're dark. I never sleep well which is why I work at night."

“Last question, a fifth isn't needed, will you pass on the duties to protect when you die?"

CamoK-9 sighed. “No, I don't want another's life to become entangled in mine."

IV

The man reached into his desk and pulled out a small slip of paper. He then retrieved a small pen and placed it on top of the paper. “Before your eyes, Tyrone, is a paper that states I have spoken to you, that the answer to these questions, although, written down by me, came from your mouth. All you have to do is sign the slip of paper and then we'll be all set to get you out of here."

CamoK-9 grabbed the pen and was about to sign, but stopped. “Where's the wolf?"

“You mean my puppet?"

“'Puppet?'"

“Yes, I merely controlled him, and got him to knock you out, so I could transport you safely to this space, for you see, to get here is quite…dangerous."

CamoK-9 signed the form and narrowed his eyes. “Will you let me go?"

“First I need to notarize this paper, pack everything up, and then you can leave here."

CamoK-9 watched the whole process. First a stamp was taken out and stamped on top of the paper. It was packed away in the box, followed by the typewriter, and the man reached into his desk, withdrawing a syringe from his desk. CamoK-9 didn't budge, for, if that's how he got here, drugs, then back that way he must go. It was risky for the human could be lying, but the only other option was the door, yet something told him time would be wasted going to it. Yet…

“Where does that door lead?" CamoK-9 asked.

The man yawned. “It leads out into the halls of my complex, which, resides in a world that you could never become accustomed to, no matter how hard you tried. It's improbable."

“R…" CamoK-9 felt the stick, shifted his head, but fell from his seat, onto the floor.

V

CamoK-9 opened his eyes to the sound of sirens. He found he was invisible, camouflaged with the ground, and saw the wolf lying on the ground beside him. CamoK-9 sat up catching the sights of cops bringing the punks into cop cars, for earlier, the bullying had been seen from afar by another passerby. CamoK-9 luckily hadn't been spotted with his actions of beating the tar out of the little turds. He jumped to the roof and overheard that his noise device had been picked up though. CamoK-9 groaned softly and took off running heading for home via rooftop.

He jumped rooftop after rooftop until he landed on the outskirts of the city. His base of operations, or his mansion on the hills was in the distance, but, stashed in the bushes was his motorcycle. He hopped on it, turning off his camo suit, and drove off towards his home. The road was dirt, but would become mud because of the rain that was beginning to fall from the sky way up high. Yes, it would seem that the news was correct. Tonight there'd be a heavy storm, but how long would it last? Well, it was estimated around early morning, which stunk, but, get some shelter and it won't be bad. CamoK-9 heard the splashes of the mud that the road was making.

“I need to get home fast. My bike isn't built for this kind of terrain," said CamoK-9. “It needs to be upgraded. I'll have a look at it tomorrow for sure."

“Sir, are you there?"

“I'm here, Jason, I'm on my way home."

“I tried to reach you earlier, are you ok?"

CamoK-9 didn't reply right away. “What do you mean?"

“Get back to the house and I'll explain."

“Understood."

VI

CamoK-9 put on his night shorts and t-shirt then exited his room. I can't believe I didn't pick up any word from Jason. Was that place blocking out anyway? Must've, but why so?

CamoK-9 walked down his hallway, turned left, and went down the steps into the main hall of his mansion. He then turned right, went into the dining room, and grabbed a seat where his meal was waiting for him. He grabbed his eating utensils and dug into his meal eagerly.

“Sir, is it good?"

“Yes, it's delicious…" CamoK-9 paused, recalling the matter at hand. “What…you said you tried to call me?"

“Yes, your monitor, my view of you went static, and so did your ear piece. What happened?"

CamoK-9 stared at his food. “I don't know. First I took the criminals down with ease, and then, I showed up in this strange space with a human."

“You were with a human? What did he want?"

“Just to ask me questions. He said…he knew everything about me…"

“Sir, stay here, I'm going to…"

“The strangest thing was there was this door, which according to him led to his world, that he said I could never become accustomed to."

Jason took a seat beside CamoK-9. “Forgive me for my seating, but, I must advise. We should put a tracking signal, so that if this happens again, I can come get you, for you."

CamoK-9 rubbed his head. “A feeling says you can't help. Don't know why I've got that, but, this guy, this human. His place, it's too far for us. All I can do is monitor back and be ready."
