First Day On The Job.txt
Kory apprehensively buttoned the buttons of his crisp new police uniform. He made sure his pants were free of wrinkles and his badge was polished so it shimmered in the light. Today was his first day on the Chicago Police Force. He wanted to make sure he made a great impression on his first day. The gray wolf looked in his bedroom mirror and smoothed his uniform shirt out. He had just turned twenty-three this month, enabling him to become part of the police force after a few months of training. Kory had passed the tests with flying colors, but he still could not help feeling uneasy as he stepped over all of the boxes that littered his apartment floor. He looked at the mess in his living room and sighed. There were still many boxes he needed to unpack. He decided, as he stepped into his car,to unpack them after his first day. As Kory drove through the city, his uneasiness increased. Chicago was a big city with a good amount of crime. Would he ever have to shoot someone? Would he even be able to do it?
Kory pushed the thoughts out of his head. He was ready. As long as he remembered his training, he would be fine. Besides, what were the chances of having to use your gun on the first day in the force? Kory stared at the Chicago Police Station as it loomed into view. There were several squad cars already leaving for the morning patrol. Trying to calm his breathing, Kory slowly turned into the back of the building, showed the fox his security clearance card in the security booth, then proceeded to park his car in one of the available parking spaces. Making sure to not wrinkle his uniform, Kory carefully slid out of his car and started walking to the main entrance of the building. His heart was beatting rapidly in his chest. He opened the doors carefully and walked up to the desk that sat in the middle of the room.
"May I help you?" The squirrel asked at the desk without looking up from the computer's monitor.
"Um, my name's Kory-Kory Henderson." He stammered slightly. The squirrel made no intention to look up or respond. "Uh, I'm the new guy...it's my first day on the job." Kory said, his tail flicking nervously.
The squirrel finally looked up, her eyes raised in surprise.
"Oh I'm so sorry!" She apologized quickly. "I didn't know you'd be here this early."
Kory laughed nervously.
"Yeah well, better early then being late." He replied.
"Of course, of course." Th squirrel said with a smile. "Anyways, my name is Carly. I'm the receptionist here."
Kory smiled as he nodded and offered his paw to Carly.
"Nice to meet you." He said as he shook Carly's paw. "So, do you know where I go?"
"You can stay right here." Carly replied as she turned to her phone on the desk. "I'll page chief to come up here."
"Oh okay, thank you." Kory said as he nervously smoothed his uniform.
He looked down at his pants and made sure they were spotless. His tail wagged nervously, and he tried to force himself to calm down. He stood up straight as a very handsome husky walked into the room. The husky looked to only be about a year older than Kory. He had pictured the chief to be older. Was this even the chief? Still, Kory remained still and did not let his knees relax. The husky glanced at Kory, then turned to Carly. He whispered to her, then turned his attention to Kory again. Kory held his breath and stared at the husky.
"Chief is not feeling well today, so he put me in charge to train you." The husky said, his bright blue eyes examining from head to tail. "My name is Josh Shepherd. I'll be responsible for training you today."
Kory was about to open his muzzle to say something, but stopped when Josh put his face close to his so that their muzzles were almost touching.
"If you think I'm excited about training you today, think again." Josh growled. "I don't want you to think that you're gonna do something heroic today and make the newspaper. No, you are a recruit today. You will learn the basics of being an officer, and I don't want any screw-ups at all. Understand?"
Kory nodded slightly, his breath caught in his throat.
"Great." Josh replied as he leaned back. "Come with me now, outside."
His heart beating rapidly, Kory followed the husky throught the doors and outside to the street. The morning traffic was now beginning to flood the streets of the city. He watched as Josh unlocked what he guessed was his police cruiser. Kory already knew that he was not going to enjoy being trained by Josh. To his surprise, Josh turned around to face Kory, a wide grin spread across his face.
"Sorry about that. I always have to put on a show for the chief." Josh said, his bright blue eyes staring right into Kory's.
"You mean he was watching us?" Kory asked in disbelief.
Josh shrugged, still grinning.
"Yeah, he always does. He wants us to be rough with the new recruits to see how they respond to a higher officer."
"Are you the sergeant or lieutenant here?" Kory asked, his eyes gazing slowly over the husky's lean and muscular body.
Josh shook his head.
"Nah. I'm still an officer just like you, except I've been here for about a year now." He replied as he opened the door to the police cruiser. "Come on. I'll show you our patrol route, partner."
The last word Josh spoke made Kory's ears lift up in surprise.
"Did you say-"
"Partner? Yes I did." Josh replied with a laugh. He motioned with his finger to get into the police cruiser. "Chief wants us to be partners."
"That's great!" Kory said as he quickly climbed into the vehicle. Making sure he did not shut his tail in the door, Kory closed the crusier's door as Josh started the engine.
"So what made you interested in becoming a cop?" Josh asked casually as he adjusted his sideview mirrors.
"My dad was the chief of the NYPD when I was a boy." Kory replied as he stared out of the window. "I guess I just wanted to follow in his footsteps."
Josh nodded as he backed the cruiser out of the parking space and started driving.
"What about you?" Kory asked Josh. "How did you get interested in law enforcement?"
Josh smiled and shrugged.
"I always wanted to be a cop when I was a kid." The husky replied. "I guess the idea stuck with me throughout college."
Kpry smiled at the thought of Josh as a young husky. Josh noticed his smile and turned to him.
"What's so funny?" Josh asked with a grin, his blue eyes sparkling in the sunlight.
"Oh, nothing." Kory replied with a wave of his paw. "So what are you going to teach me today?"
"Just some basic stuff." Josh replied as they came to a red light. "Pretty much, our patrol route is a complete circle. You start at the department, drive up 28th Street for about two miles, then make a left onto Union Avenue. You stay on that for about three miles, then make a turn onto Wallace. The you stay on that until you get back to the department. It's about an hour drive."
"Okay cool." Kory replied. "What about responding to calls?"
"If the dispatcher reports us about something within our route, then it's our job to investigate whatever is going on." Josh replied as his ear twitched. "If no one is within a region but you're the closest one to the reported area, then you're the one who goes."
"Okay got it." Kory replied as he continued staring out of the window.
He found his eyes gazing back to the husky who sat next to him, his uniform shirt tight across his broad chest and the lines of his muscles easily visible through the fabric. Kory had no idea he was staring at Josh's body until Josh turned to look at him. Embarrassed, Kory quickly looked away when Josh made eye contact.
"So how long have you lived here in the city?" Josh asked, his eyes focused on the congested traffic.
"I actually just moved here last week." Kory replied. "I haven't even finished moving into my apartment yet."
"Would you like some help unpacking?" Josh asked as he turned to look at the wolf.
Kory opened his mouth to say no, that he could handle unpacking his stuff by himself, but the husky's soft blue eyes and his warm smile made Kory say "Sure."
Josh smiled. "Great! I'll come over tonight after our shift. Does that sound okay?"
Kory found himself returning the husky's smile.
"Yeah of course," Kory paused. "and maybe we can get dinner or something? Like, maybe order in?"
"Of course! Oh there's this amazing Chinese take-out restaurant I know of." Josh replied excitedly. "They seriously have the best Chinese food in the entire city."
"I love Chinese!" Kory said with a grin. "That sounds great."
"Perfect!" Josh replied, his tail wagging in his seat. "So let's say I'll be at your apartment around eight tonight?"
"That's good for me." Kory replied.
Josh was about to reply when his smile suddenly disappeared, replaced by a stern look. He slowed the car down.
"What is it?" Kory asked as he looked out the window.
"That tiger and the horse over there." Josh said as he pointed over to the sidewalk.
A tiger and a horse were standing on the sidewalk in front of a small cafe, both were yelling at each other. Josh pulled the cruiser over into a parking spot on the side of the road.
"You ready for your first public disturbance?" Josh asked with a grin as he climbed out of the crusier.
"Uh, yeah." Kory replied nervously.
The husky winked at him, sending a sense of relief through Kory's body.
"Don't worry about anything. Just follow my lead, and if things get out of control, don't lose your cool."
"Right." Kory whispered to himself as he followed Josh. "Don't lose your cool."
He watched as Josh strode up to the arguing couple, his back and tail straight with confidence.
"Excuse me gentlemen? Is there something wrong?" Josh asked the tiger and horse.
Kory walked up next to the husky, trying to look as confident. He was really shaking inside.
"Yeah! Of course I have a problem!" The tiger yelled as he jabbed his paw at the horse. "Tell this guy that he has no right of accusing me for looking at his girlfriend!"
"Don't lie!" The horse yelled back. "I saw you staring at her in line! Then you had the nerve to wink at her?!"
"Bullshit!" The tiger snapped back angrily. "I didn't do shit! She looked at me first!"
The two went back and forth a few more times before Josh finally cut into the argument to silence them.
"Okay, okay, okay," Josh interrupted as he raised his paws. He turned to face the tiger. "Did you look at his girlfriend and wink at her?"
"No!" The tiger exclaimed. Josh raised an eyebrow at the tiger. "Well, I mean, I didn't wink at her. All I did was smile at her when she made eye contact with me."
Josh still looked at the tiger suspiciously.
"Really officer. That's all I did. Nothing else, I swear."
Finally, Josh shrugged and turned to the horse.
"Is that confession good enough for you?" He asked.
The horse nodded and scratched the back of his head.
"Yeah. I guess I just overreacted." He mumbled.
"Okay good. So everything's all worked out now, right?" Josh asked with a slight smile. The horse and tiger nodded. "Great! Glad to help. I better not hear that you guys went at it again though."
"Don't worry officer." The tiger replied, and the horse nodded in agreement.
"Glad to hear it." Josh said with a smile as he walked back to the police crusier and climbed in. "Have a good day."
Kory turned and got into the car.
"You did a great job." Kory said as they started to drive away.
"Ah it was nothing." The husky said with a grin. "I have to deal with people like that almost every day."
"Well still, you handled that really well." Kory replied.
Josh turned to look into Kory's eyes. He suddenly felt a warm paw grip and lightly squeeze his, sending chills down Kory's back.
"I appreciate your compliments." Josh said, still holding his paw.
Kory felt his ears flush red, and he folded them down in embarrassment. Josh let go of Kory's paw, and Kory fought the urge to not reach over and grip the husky's paw again.
"So, it's almost time for lunch." Josh commented as he focused on the road.
Kory looked at his watch and was suprised how fast time seemed to be passing. It was already twelve thirty, and now that Kory thought about it, he was getting hungry.
"Well you know this city more than I do." Kory replied with a chuckle. "I'll go wherever you usually go for lunch."
"I just usually go to this cafe at the corner of this street." Josh said. "They have awesome sandwiches and coffee."
"Sounds good to me." Kory said, his stomach growling hungrily.
The husky smiled as he pulled the police cruiser over on the side of the road in front of the cafe. Kory opened the door and stepped out onto the sidewalk, the tempting smells of rich coffee and fresh baked bread wafted through his nostrils.
"After you." Josh said as he opened the door for Kory.
Kory smiled and walked into the cafe. The place was not terribly busy. There were a few tables scattered around the room. Kory took a seat in one of them as Josh strolled up to the counter and started chatting with the fox behind it. Kory leaned his head in his paw and smiled, enjoying the back view of the husky. His long fluffy tail lazily twitched back and forth behind him. All Kory wanted to do was rub his paws through it. He snapped out of his trance as Josh turned around and sat across from him.
"I hope you don't mind, but I ordered the sandwich that I usually get for you." Josh said.
"I'm sure I'll like it if you like it." Kory replied with a smile. "What did you get?"
"BLT." Josh replied with a shy smile. "It's probably their best sandwich. I just hope that I ordered something that you like."
Kory stared at the husky's paw. Half of his mind screamed at him to slide his paw across the table and squeeze it. The other half told him to wait until he knew the husky was interested in him. But what if Josh was waiting for Kory to make a move?
Kory hesitated, then decided to not make a move.
"Of course that's fine." Kory replied with a smile. "BLTs are my favorite."
Josh's ears perked up.
"Okay great!" He replied happily.
Kory kept on smiling, but deep down inside, he was really beating himself up for being such a coward. How hard was it to just slide his paw over and place it on top of Josh's?
The fox arrived with the two sandwiches and two lemonades, which Kory eagerly downed in minutes.
"Wow, I guess you were hungry." Josh laughed as he finished his sandwich shortly after Kory did.
Kory wiped his muzzle with his napkin and leaned back in his chair.
"What can I say? All of today's excitement drained all the energy out of me."
Josh laughed and stood up.
"Come on. We still have about six hours left until our shift is over." Josh said as he glanced at his watch.
Kory bid the fox farewell and followed Josh out onto the sidewalk.. He stretched, enjoying the warm summer air. He glanced over at Josh and saw him staring suspiciously at two teenage foxes at the corner of the street.
"Who are they?" Kory whispered.
Josh did not reply, but only motioned Kory to follow. Confused, he fell into step behind the husky.
"Marcus? Sam? What did I tell you guys about hanging out here?" Josh asked seriously as he approached the two foxes.
The foxes looked up in suprise, saw Josh and Kory, then turned and bolted down one of the alleys.
"Hey!" Josh yelled as he pursued them.
Kory follwed, his heart pounding. He saw the two foxes separate at a fork in the alley.
"You go after Marcus!" Josh shouted as he ran down the left side of the alley.
Kory did not hesitate for a second. His heart beating rapidly, Kory ran down the right side of the alley after the fox. The fox was faster than Kory and lighter on his feet. Gasping for breath, Kory growled and pushed himself to run faster. The fox started pushing down garbage cans and old boxes in Kory's path. With his long legs, Kory was able to jump over them with ease. He could tell the fox was getting tired. The fox turned a corner and Kory followed shortly. He looked ahead and saw a large brick wall. Dead end. The fox came to a halt, his wide eyes looking up at the wall. Kory came to a halt, panting for air.
"There! Dead end bud. You better come with me." Kory said as caught his breath.
The fox suddenly pulled something out from the back of his shorts. Kory instinctively set his paw on his handgun, but the fox was faster. Kory found himself staring at the barrel of a small handgun that trembled in the fox's paws. Kory froze where he was.
"Whoa," Kory said as he stared at the fox. "okay, there's no need for you to use that. Just put the gun down, and no one has to get hurt, okay?"
The fox did not answer. His paws still trembled as he kept the gun aimed at Kory.
"Listen, uh Marcus? Is that your name? Listen Marcus, I wasn't going to hurt you. Josh just wants to talk to you, okay? That's it. There's no need to point a gun at me."
Kory tried to take a step forward, but froze as Marcus snapped the gun up and aimed it at Kory's head. Kory felt his heart hammering inside his chest. He knew that the fox was scared out of his mind, One false move, and the fox would pull the trigger without thinking of what he was doing. Kory took a deep breath and stepped back, his paws still raised in front of him.
"Kory?!" Kory heard Josh's voice echo down the alley.
Marcus looked up from his gun's sights, distracted. That was all Kory needed. He immediately unbuckled his holster on his hip and slid his own handgun out in one fluid motion. By the time Marcus looked back at Kory, Kory had his gun aimed at the fox. Marcus froze, but only for a second. He raised his gun at Kory again.
"Listen to me Marcus," Kory said sternly, his finger hovering towards the trigger on his gun. "I don't want to shoot you, but I will if you shoot me first."
The fox still kept his gun aimed at Kory. Tears started streaming from the fox's scared eyes.
"I know you're scared." Kory said, his voice starting to tremble. "Just please Marcus. I'm begging you to put the gun down. This is my first day on the job and I really, really don't want to shoot you okay? Just please put the gun down."
"Hey Kory? You get him?" Kory heard Josh's voice echo down the alley.
Kory froze. Josh could not see Marcus from where he was. He saw Marcus's eyes dart past Kory in fear.
"Josh, don't-" Kory started to say.
He heard Josh freeze where he was.
"Holy shit." He heard Josh mutter as he heard the click of a hammer being pulled back on a gun.
"No Josh!" Kory exclaimed, but it was too late.
Marcus closed his eyes and pulled the trigger. The gun's barrel flashed, and Kory felt something hot tear through his right shoulder. Kory felt himself fall back onto the pavement. He winced as another gunshot rang out, and he heard something crumple to the ground.
"Oh shit!" Kory heard Josh yell. "Shit, shit, shit, shit!"
Now Kory was aware of an intense burning pain in his right shoulder. He touched his shoulder where it hurt, and his paw came away bloody. He saw Josh lean over him.
"Kory! Listen, stay with me okay?! You're going to be fine! I'm calling an ambulance right now!"
He heard the hiss of Josh's radio.
"Dispatch, this is Officer Josh Connor! I have a 10-108, I repeat, a 10-108! I have an officer down in the alley between South Broad Street and Hamilton Street! Requesting an ambulance..."
Kory noticed Josh's voice seemed to be drifting away. He shook his head and tried to clear his senses.
"I'm okay." Kory coughed as he tried to sit up. The pain in his shoulder increased.
"Whoa stay down there." Josh said as he placed his paw on Kory's chest.
Kory coughed again and heard sirens wailing in the distance.
"Really, I'm okay." Kory said again as he tried to sit up.
Josh pushed him down again.
"You're losing a lot of blood." Josh said, his blue eyes stared at Kory worriedly. "You need to stay down. I'm going to apply pressure to your wound to stop the bleeding. It's gonna hurt though."
Kory clenched his teeth as he felt Josh's paws press down firmly on Kory's shoulder. His vision started to blur. Kory knew he was slipping into shock. He tried to focus on Josh's face, on his deep blue eyes that stared at him with deep concern.
"Kory, listen to me. Focus on me! Don't you dare give up on me!" Josh shouted as the sirens came closer. "The ambulance is here. They're gonna pick you up and get you patched up in no time. And then we'll get dinner tonight."
Kory tried to reply, but his mouth was dry. He tried to keep his eyes open.
"No Kory! Damn it! Stay awake! You hear me?!" Josh screamed as he saw Kory's eyelids flutter.
Josh felt tears swell up in his eyes. He grasped the wolf's limp paw in his own and squeezed it as the paramedics arrived at the scene. Josh let go of Kory's paw and stepped back to let the paramedics do their job. He watched through tearful eyes as they loaded Kory onto a gurney and slid him into the ambulance. Kory's eyes flutterd open just to see Josh jump in the ambulance with him. Then the ambulance doors slammed shut. The last thing Kory remembered was feeling the husky's paw in his paw.
Kory slowly woke up from his deep sleep and realized he was in a bed. The second thing he realized was the warm fur he felt in his paw. He turned and saw Josh sitting in a chair beside his bed, a slight smile spread across his muzzle.
"Welcome back." Josh said, his tail wagging.
Kory smiled and squeezed the husky's paw. He tried to move his shoulder, but found that it was tightly bandaged.
"The bullet had gone straight through your lower shoulder." Josh said with a grimace. "You were lucky it didn't hit your heart or anything else."
"Yeah." Kory coughed as he sat up from the hospital bed. "How long was I out?"
"For about eight hours." Josh replied.
"Eight hours?!" Kory exclaimed. "What about our dinner? And you helping me unpack?"
Josh gave him a confused look.
"You really shouldn't be doing anything with an injury like that." Josh said as he motioned towards Kory's shoulder. "Besides, we can do that another night."
"Bullshit. I'm perfectly fine." Kory mumbled as he unhooked the IV from his arm and swung his legs over the side of the bed.
Josh made no intention to stop him. Kory then looked down at himself and realized he was completely naked. Embarrassed, he quickly tried to cover himself with the bed sheet.
"Could you hand me my clothes?" Kory asked shyly, his ears flattened against his head.
Josh laughed as he stood up and retrieved Kory's clothes.
"Actually, I think you look pretty cute without any clothes on." He whispered into Kory's ear.
Kory smiled as he slipped his boxers on, then a pair of shorts and a plain white T-shirt.
"Let me help you out to the car." Josh said as he slipped his arm around Kory's waist.
Kory wrapped his good arm around Josh's neck and started walking. His shoulder was not hurting that much. After Josh had signed Kory out of the hospital, he helped him into the police crusier and started to drive to Kory's apartment.
"So what happened?" Kory asked as he stared out of the window at the night sky.
"Well, Marcus, the fox you were chasing, was rushed to the hospital too for a bullet to the chest. Luckily, it hadn't hit any vital organs, but he's not gonna be able to do anything for awhile." Josh said. "Sam turned himself in after he heard that Marcus was in the hospital."
"So why exactly did we chase them?" Kory asked as he winced. It hurt to breathe.
"Sam and Marcus have been arrested on multiple counts of illegal possession of drugs and weapons." Josh said, his eyes staring at the road. "They're just kids though, that's the worse part of it. They're just doing whatever they can to get some money for food."
"Sad." Kory said as they came to a stop in front of Kory's apartment.
Josh did not reply, but instead sighed and settled back in his seat.
"Listen Kory, I just wanted to say...that I'm sorry."
Kory looked at the husky, his ears twitching in confusion.
"What are you sorry for?" Kory asked.
"I'm sorry for this whole entire mess." Josh replied, his voice starting to tremble. "It's just...it's my fault that you got hurt today. I wasn't thinking right. I was too focused on impressing you that I forgot the most important rule of being someone's partner."
Kory leaned over to the husky and saw the tears slide down his face.
"And what is that?" Kory asked as he wiped Josh's eyes and took his paw into his paw.
"Always watch out for your partner." Josh whispered as he gently squeezed Kory's paw. "And I failed at that today."
Kory closed his eyes and moved closer to Josh, his muzzle almost touching Josh's nose.
"I understand if you don't want to...you know...be partners-" Kory silenced Josh by putting a finger up to Josh's mouth.
"I want to be more than partners." Kory whispered as he touched his muzzle to Josh's muzzle.
Josh's eyes became wide in the dim light from the streetlight overhead. Kory pressed his lips up against Josh's. Then they kissed. It was a deep passionate kiss, and Kory felt felt his arousal increase. They kept the kiss going until Josh broke away, panting for air.
"That was amazing." Josh whispered, his blue eyes sparkling in the low light.
Kory could tell by the bulge in the husky's pants that he definitely enjoyed it.
"How about we take this inside my place?" Kory whispered as he slid his paw up Josh's shirt, feeling the muscles flex from his touch. "It'll be way more comfortable."
"Are you sure?" Josh panted as he pressed up against Kory's paw.
"Of course." Kory smiled.
Josh stepped out of the car and took Kory into his arms. Kory yelped in suprise when he felt himself lifted off of the car's seat. Josh just chuckled and carried him up to his door. Kory slid the key into the lock and opened the door.
"I can walk, you know." Kory said with a grin.
Josh licked the tip of his nose.
"You shouldn't be walking. You should be lying in bed right now." He replied with a smile.
"Bed's upstairs." Kory replied. "Don't trip over any boxes though. I don't want to have to call the ambulance for you now."
Josh laughed as he walked up the stairs. When the two had closed the bedroom door behind them, Kory's arousal immediately returned. He quickly stripped off his shirt and then his shorts. Josh admired the wolf's muscular build. Kory then slipped his paw up Josh's shirt and removed it. Josh started breathing heavily as Kory removed his pants too.
"You know, I fell in love with you right when I saw you standing in the department's lobby." Josh confessed as he reclined back onto Kory's bed.
Kory slipped his paw down Josh's boxers. He gazed into his eyes and brushed his paw against the husky's maleness. Josh closed his eyes and leaned forward. He kissed Kory again, then reached up and grabbed the waistband of Kory's boxers and slid them down, revealing the wolf's centerpiece. Josh wrapped his paw around Kory's manhood and started rubbing it, slowly at first. Kory started panting and slid the husky's boxers down too. He brought his paw up and started doing the same. They both worked in unison, their breath coming out in short gasps. After a while, Kory felt pressure building up inside of him. His breath started coming out faster and harder, but it was Josh who jerked his hips against Kory's paw first. He felt something warm and sticky coat his paw, and the husky's musk filled his nostrils. Josh moaned as he climaxed, but he still kept his paw working on Kory. Soon enough, Kory moaned as the husky brought him off.
For a moment, they both just relaxed on the bed. Josh was the first to talk..
"So," He said, "are we still partners?"
Kory laughed and turned over to hug the husky. He nuzzled him as Josh licked him on the nose.
"Of course we are. I'd rather have you as a partner than anyone else in the entire police force." Kory replied as he stroked his paw throught the husky's fur.
"You're unbelievably sweet, you know that?" Josh asked as he stroked the fur on Kory's chest.
Kory giggled.
"I guess we should get cleaned up?" Kory suggested as he felt the matted and sticky fur on him.
"Yeah we should." Josh said as he sat up and helped Kory to the bathroom.
In the shower, they took turns washing each other's parts that needed to be cleaned. The feel of soapy paws-on-body only aroused Kory again, and they ended up making a mess again in the shower. They cleaned themselves off again, then exhausted, climbed into Kory's bed. Kory snuggled up close to Josh as he settled underneath the covers.
"So, what did you think of your first day on the job?" Josh whispered as he stroked his paw through Kory's slightly damp fur.
Kory chuckled tiredly.
"Well I got to see the city today, had my first taste of action, and I even got shot and lived to tell about it," Kory paused. "but most importantly, I met a handsome and brave husky who I'm honored to be partners with."
Josh smiled and leaned in to kiss Kory again.
"So, a pretty good first day?" Josh asked.
Kory smiled and hugged the husky tigher.
"Not bad for my first day on the job." Kory replied as he drifted off to sleep, the husky breathing heavily in his arms.
