The Guilded Cage, It's Pronounced "Cameo"
#5 of The Guilded Cage
It's almost time to prepare for The Guilded Cage's prologues, but first, and important step: THE CAMEO ANNOUNCEMENT!
As is the established tradition for reader-driven stories, ONE of the following characters will be introduced into the Guilded Cage story. All of these characters are from different IPs of mine and the winner of reader votes will be given a role to play in the upcoming tale. What follows are the identities of the characters up for your votes, the story in which they originally appeared, and their proposed identity in this story should they be accepted.
Readers may vote for one character out of the following list they'd like to have appear in The Guilded Cage.
Voting is now open and will close as of midnight (PST) on Friday, December 18th.
This story is known as The Guilded Cage (yes, Guilded and not Gilded) and it differs from the prior ones I've presented here because it will be played as a D&D (3.5 edition) campaign at the same time by a group of players.
Interested in helping to guide the campaign? Just keep watch here for more details about The Guilded Cage and opportunities to vote.
Interested in playing as a player? Send me a message and I'll provide you a group invite! (warning: chat is nsfw).
The campaign will feature a variety of characters, both PC and NPC, and will feature a drop-in-drop-out style of participation with games being held on Sundays, 12-4pm (Pacific Time, UTC-7).
Updates to the storyline here will likely be every other week, with a week long vote every week or every other week.
I'm looking forward to presenting the first reader-driven decision for The Guilded Cage, coming soon! As always, thanks for reading and I hope you decide to join in!
Warning: This story may contain adult elements including but not limited to violence, drug use, sex, sexual situations, and profanity.
Arthur Smith, Blacksmith (Originally from Reforged)
Male Human
Arthur is the main character in my D&D adventure story Reforged. He is a blacksmith in the small town of Hearthbridge and the adopted father for three humanoid orphans who he adopts. In The Guilded Cage, Arthur will still be a blacksmith, and the owner of The Hearthforge, a well-regarded, busy blacksmithy located in the Tradesman's Quarter of St. Almar. If selected for the cameo, he will serve as a vendor, information contact, quest-giver, an possible love interest(?).
Dorias Freeman, Library Servant (Originally From the Sorrani Chronicles)
Male Yak Beast-Kin
Dorias is a supporting character in my book series the Sorrani Chronicles; he was originally introduced as a slave in the first book of the series, Slave Trade and continues to serve as a sidekick/mentor for main characters. In Guilded Cage, he will be one of several workers at the St. Almar Library who assist the librarian with keeping things clean and organized. If selected for the cameo, he will serve as an information contact, possible ally, and possible love interest.
Jack the Celestial, Herald of the Divine (Originally from The Gift)
Male Guardinal - Gryphonel
Jack is one of the main spirit companions for the human main character in my reader-driven visual-novel inspired story "The Gift". In The Gift he is a spirit who takes the form of a humanoid Gryphon, visible only to a select few, gifted individuals but in The Guilded Cage, if selected by readers, he will be an Outsider visiting the Prime Material Plane from Celestia-- specifically, a very rare Lion/Eagle Guardinal known as a Gryphonel. If selected for the cameo, he may serve as a possible ally, perhaps an antagonist, and/or maybe a love interest.
Majh Blackpaw, Captain-Commander of the Watch (Originally from Zion: Light of the New Moon)
Female Gnoll(?)
Majh made quite a splash when she appeared in my second reader-driven story known as "Zion" where she was a high priestess and captain of the city guards for a city. She will serve a similar purpose if she joins in on The Guilded Cage, working as a Captain-Commander of the Watch, assigned to Slums. In this capacity, Majh will almost certainly run into the main characters at some point. If selected for the cameo, Majh may be an information contact and could also be a possibly ally, a possible antagonist, or even both at the same time-- it's pronounced "dichotomy", dear reader.
Pip the Herald, Town Crier (Originally from Eternyte)
Male Kobold
A minor character in service to Lord Etherborn as the unofficial mayor of Cragglecrawl (CRAGGLECRAWL!) in my isekai story Eternyte, Pip may be stepping out of everyone's shadows and joining The Guilded Cage as a side character in his own right! Still "just a Kobold", Pip will have the esteemed job of serving as the Town Crier for The Slums, wherein he may be a source of information and a possible ally, or even a backstabbing, double-dealing Kobold. This is presuming, of course, if he is chosen by readers for the cameo.
Okay-- let the votes begin!
