It was 6 O'clock in the evening when flight 101 landed in Sydney Australia's airport. Kappy a young otter from Canada was on his first trip. The otter had been excited for weeks. One day while sitting on his front lawn, the otter had been listening to the radio, when to his surprise the local radio show was giving away two tickets for a trip for two to Austaria. Over and over he told himself, that there was no point in entering. Aside from having nobody to go with, he had never been out of Canada in his life. What would he do, he wondered. Who would he take. These were all questions that he could not possibly answer. The radio announcer comes on.
"Come on ladies and gentlement, the lucky phone number is..." The long pause was killing him, if it was one thing the otter hated it was waiting. Even though Kappy knew it was next to impossible to win, he simply had to know.
After a few commercials the announcer returned. "And Heeere I goooo, dial dial diiiaal!"
Suddenly, Kappy's phone began to ring. Perhaps somebody was playing a joke on him, maybe his brothers. Kappy reached into his pocket, grabbing his vibrating phone, pressing the answer button. "H.. Hello?" The bewildered otter says answering his phone.
The announcer's bells go off. "Congratulations You're our lucky winner!"
Kappy's mind goes blank. He of all his years, hadn't won a thing in his life. "I.. I can't believe it." The otter replies, almost dropping his phone.
"Believe it, stay on the line while we take your address." The announcer says.
And now here he was standing in an airport full of strange people, strange smells, and most of all.
"Hallo there."
Kappy's thought's were soon cut off short by a strange voice. The otter spun around, only to bump smack dab into, a kangaroo. "Brady's ma name pleased to meet ya."
Kappy couldn't believe his eyes, not only was the kangaroo gorgeous, but his acccent nearly drove the otter completely insane. Kappy simply loved Australian accents, ever since he'd watch different movies with the likes in them.
Brady stood there watching the otter, what a strange fellow this was to just stand there and glare at him. It was seriously creeping him out.
"Look, if ya want me to go I'll go" Brady said, almost hopping away.
The otter's mind snapped to. "N.. no wait!" He called to Brady, grabbing a hold of his shirt.
"I'm sorry, Brady was it?" The otter smiled warmly, offering the kangaroo a paw.
"I'm Kappy." The otter said.
Brady's expression changed, as he reached out to grab the cute otter's paw giving it a firm shake. "Pleasure mate, I'll be your guide while you're in Australia." The kangaroo tells him.
Kappy was quite an impressive sight to the kangaroo, most otters he'd met were scrawny and thin looking. Kappy wasn't like that at all. He had to be at least 5'8" and from the of his legs, under them shorts, and his chest sticking out from his Hawaiian shirt, he was at least toned. Brady instantly liked Kappy, bud decided he wouldn't act a pon it. After all he was sure that he'd just scare him away.
It took the otter a bit of time to realize that Brady was staring at him. "Are you okay Brady?" The otter asked thoughtfully.
Brady smiled, "Right of we go then." He stopped in mid step.
"Aren't there supposed to be two of you?" The kangaroo asked.
Kappy shook his head, resting both of his paws at his sides. "I couldn't find anyone to bring, so I came anyway."
The otter looked down ashamedly. "I guess nobody really likes me back home." He said.
Brady's heart skipped a beat, he felt the otter's sadness reaching out to him. "Look mate, since you came alone it would be my honor to show you a good time."
The otter blushes deeply, glancing into Brady's hazel hued orbs, his own green ones seemed to sparkle at his new friends words. "Thank you Brady, that means a lot."
Brady lead the otter into to his vehicle. "Now, on to your suite."
After what seemed like an hour, the car pulled into a huge resort hotel which didn't really look like a hotel more like a few cabins by the ocean, it was actually pretty breathtaking. The otter, after climbing out of the car stood glancing over the ocean. Taking a big deep breath in.
"Wow, this is amazing!" Exclaimed the otter, Brady of course could not help himself from laughing.
The kangaroo stepped away from his car, carrying Kappy's bags. "That's nothin' Mate, you should see it from ova there."
The otter looked off into the direction that Brady was pointing. A huge cliff, farther than what the otter could see, stood just off the shoreline. First impressions were everything to him, he hated show offs more than anything in the world. Thinking back, a wolf by the name of Scott came to mind, always pushing people around. The otter wasn't in high school anymore, but he still had memories of when he did.
It was easy to tell that Brady had impressed the otter, first being that he was taller then the otter at about 6'2" and was muscular in tone. Because of where the kangaroo lived it was easy to see that his brown fur, had a few patches of sun kisses on it, light golden hairs that seemed to shimmer in the light. The otter couldn't help but blush when Brady began moving closer.
Brady wanted to show Kappy everything he possibly could. The kangaroo moved closer, grabbing Kappy's bags. Heading towards the building Brady looks back.
"Come on mate, time to get you registered." The kangaroo said.
His paw came to rest on a wooden door frame, the otter glances over it briefly before taking a step inside. The building was pretty cool, there was definitely airconditioning in here. One thing that the otter noticed was that outside was hot. The otter wasn't quite used to the heat yet, so he stood in the lobby panting and trying to get his breath back.
Brady placed the otter's bags down, tapping the service bell on the counter, a hotel rep came running into the room.
"Sorry sorry, g'day Brady, what can I do for you?" Asked the dingo.
"For one thing mate. y'can be at your desk when you're supposed to be workin." The kangaroo gave him a stern look.
The otter giggled as he watched the kangaroo. It had been some time since the otter had laughed that good. Brady on the other hand did not see the humor, he glanced at Kappy. "Oi!, what's so funny?"
"Listen, Bucko! I ain't got time for no messing around." Brady exclaims, pressing his nose against the otter.
Kappy blushes, pushing the kangaroo back. "Hey, I just thought it was funny geeze take it easy."
Knowing quite well that he had freaked the otter out, Brady smirks. "Got ya mate, come I'll help you get settled in."
