"Sir, you need to see this." The officer stated when he walked up to the detective. Grant looked up, still holding Lisa who was wrapped in the bed covers. "Alright, excuse me a second Grant". And the detective walked out of the living room into the bedroom. Grant looked down at Lisa, "Hey, how are you doing?" Lisa looked at him as if to say "How do you think I'm doing?" But all she said was "fine".

Grant shook his head. What a mess. The detective had already called Lisa's work for her. He'd been nice, but Grant could tell he wanted to dig deeper. It was just his job. Problem was, Grant had nothing to tell him. What was he going to say? No one would believe him. The best he could do was keep to his story.

"Must have had the wrong house?" The detective looked at Grant sideways and raised an eyebrow. "This guy has a custom made Walther P99 fitted with a silencer, hand load sub-sonic shattering bullets that leave no trace once they hit something and he's not carying any ID. We took his fingerprints and he doesn't exist in the system. People like this don't get the wrong house!" Grant shrugged "He must have, who would want me dead?" The detective pulled a card from his pocket. "Hey, I can't help you until you help me. So take this, and if you think of anything, call me"

How about the fact that this assassin knew Grant by his other name. A name that Grant himself didn't know until a couple days ago. How about Lisa, who has now called him by both names. Oh, and he woke up fucking her. The guy with no head left? Yeah he called me an old friend. What in the fuck was he supposed to tell a detective?

"Hey detective, we have a problem." The officer sounded urgent. As he said this, 3 guys walked into the house, smartly dressed in suits and ties. "Hey, badges please" The detective was visibly upset. One of the men stepped up to the detective and flashed some sort of badge. "And that's supposed to mean what exactly?" The detective asked, standing his ground. "It means you fuck off and we take over, or do you want to do this the hard way?" The man on the left stated, not even looking at the detective. "Oh please, lets try the hard way, I'm a glutten for punishment." The detective snapped. At that moment, the detective's phone rang. "You might want to get that." the man on the right said as he stepped past the detective. As the detective answered the phone, the middle man started rounding up the police officers in the house.

"Detective Tabbett. Yeah I'm at the house. No these fuckers came in here and started taking.... No I don't care what.... they have no..... Sir, do you even know who they are? I've never seen a badge like that. Never heard of them. No I.... sir I don't.... No I get it, I just... I'm not trying to do your job sir. No I guess not. Alright, fine. Ok. Yeah. Ok."

The detective hung up the phone. Defete was writen all over him. The 3 suits didn't even look at him, but continued to escort the other officers out of the house. Grant didn't like this. He was very nervous. Lisa was looking at him in horror. "What is going on" she whispered. One of the suits walked over, and sat down in front of both of them.

"Are you aware?" He asked Grant.

"What the fuck are you talking about, who are you?"

"Drop guard, 51179. Are you aware?"

"What?"

"Shit, sir he's not aware."

Grant leaned back, one of the other suits came over and looked down at the two of them sitting on the couch. "How in the fuck did he servive?"

"Harvark."

"Um, yeah I think so"

"Harvark, what does that mean to you?"

"Um," Grant thought quickly "That uh, dead guy in there, called me that before he tried to kill me"

"And you've never heard it from anywhere else?"

"Nope that's the uh, first time I've heard it."

"Try again."

Grant couldn't hide his fear, but he also couldn't hide his anger building from not knowing what was going on. "Fuck you! Some fucking stranger just came in here and tried to kill me and now here you are, taking over her house and -"

"This is her house?"

"Yes, and now you expect me to --"

"Harvark stop. I have something to show you."

The man pulled out a small DVD player, and opened it up. He turned the power on, and hit play, then turned it around and gave it to Grant. It was security footate. Grant recognized it instantly. It was the parking lot where he'd attacked the 3 men. The footage was already rolling. He watched for the first time as the man punched him in the face. He remembered that part perfectly. But then, suddenly, nothing seemed the way he remembered it. As he watched, the image of him distorted, it was as if he became out of focus. The footage was at the part where the third man ran. As Grant watched himself, he gasped. As his figure crouched, the human outline changed, his legs lengthened, his body faded, and he leaped. He pounced. He saw paws, outstretched. The video went frame by frame, showing every movement possible. As Grant leaped through the air, he transformed, becoming cat-like. He didn't just cover a car's distance, he covered 20 ft. at least.

Grant looked up, confused, horrified. The man watched with interest, and looked at Lisa.

"Avralain, drop guard 878211"

"You fuckers, you were supposed to be watching us" Lisa stood up, tossing the blankets aside.

"I'm sorry ma'am, I don't know how he slipped by us."

"You were lucky! Harvark was lucky! This would all be for nothing if he hadn't shifted when he did and heard the assassin come in!" Lisa nodded at Grant.

Grant looked down at the DVD player, and hit the back button. He watched again, and as the room fell silent, he picked up on something he hadn't seen before. He watched the security footage again, and this time he wasn't watching himself. He was watching Lisa. As he watched, he saw himself let Lisa go to confront the man who had just hit Tim. She had stumbled to a nearby car. Grant leaned in, and as the video went frame by frame, at the moment he'd been punched in the face, Lisa had shifted into the feline he'd seen before.

Grant looked up, numb from head to toe. All 4 of them were looking down at him. "Lisa?" Grant stammered, and Lisa smiled down at him. "Hey lover." As he watched, Lisa slowly morphed into the creature he'd seen, soft white fur covered her entire feline body. "Mr. Harvark, sir." One of the men said "We need to go, you aren't safe here."
