Chapter 8: Spring Breaking.

Alex had never felt so warm in all his life. He nuzzled closer to the warmth enveloping him and yawned, but soon found himself coughing as he inhaled a stray hair. Blinking away the sleep from his eye's and getting a better sense of his surrounding's he looked up to see that Loona's face was inches from his own, and to his horror what he thought was a nice pillow was in fact her breasts. His face went white as a sheet as he began to panic, wondering just how he'd ended up in this precarious position. Quickly glancing around he was thankful for everyone else still being asleep.
"Ok think, think, what happened last night?" His mind drifted to the previous night's events and he remembered falling asleep in his chair.
"Ok, but how did I get here?" He wondered to himself. He looked around and saw that Loona had him in her firm grasp and this picture slowly began to take shape in his mind. He slowly began to peel Loona's arms from around his waist, she stirred a little bit as he did so but settled down once he had extracted himself from her clutches.
"Ok." he looked around to see everyone else still asleep. "Dodged that bullet." He said as his heart rate went back to normal. He entered the bathroom and decided to get himself cleaned up for the day. Starting off with his teeth he took around two minutes to brush over every surface. Then he decided to take a shower.
Loona woke up to the sound of water running, and while she wasn't as mad as she thought she'd be, a slight frown made it's way across her muzzle. She was about to go back to sleep when she felt that Alex was gone. Looking around she saw that the other's were asleep
"Thank Satan." she muttered as she looked around. Her eye's and ears turned towards the bathroom, where she knew Alex to be, seeing as he was nowhere else in the hotel room. Loona thought about pulling prank, her muzzle sliding into a grin as she got up, but upon further thinking about it, with his injures, she really didn't want to be responsible for making him wait even longer to fully recover. Shrugging to herself she stretched, got up, and went over to the kitchen to see what was in the fridge.
"Let's see." She rummaged around the electronic appliance until she found the rest of her Wendy's from yesterday. Grabbing it, she went over to the coffee machine and turned it on. Sitting down to her meal, she began to think about how fast her life had changed. Several months ago she would've never even thought about other people, let alone her co-workers. Looking over to Moxxie and Millie, made her smile, Blitz was a no brainer seeing as he was the only family she had left to even call family. And now here she was doing her best to make sure some human man was looked after, Yeah he saved her life, and that was important to her, but now she was beginning to wonder if she was being too nice. Letting out a huff of annoyance did little to get her closer to an answer. As she thought about it she heard the shower stop and frowned as the door opened.
"Hey." Alex jumped as he heard her voice, making him lose his towel as he spun around to face her. She got a face full of his manly meat as blitz would put it and was now so red in the face that she couldn't even speak. He too was paralyzed with fear, but soon they both got their motor functions back as Alex bent over and grabbed his towel, while Loona passed out from lack of oxygen to her brain.
"Oh shit! "Said as he grabbed some underwear from his dresser and ran back over to see if Loona was all right. Luckily she was still breathing, and her head had managed to not take the brunt of her fall. Over next to the window Blitz began to stir, and soon after so did Moxxie and Millie. Moxxie had gotten the sleep from his eye's first and saw a mostly necked Alex standing over an unconscious Loona.
"Um what happened?" He asked causing Alex to jump. He turned over to Moxxie and sighed as his face lit up again.
"Yeah, I may or may not have accidentally flashed Loona as I was coming out of the bathroom." Moxxie just sat there for a second before he burst out laughing.
"Oh, oh crumbs that's hilarious!" He sat there laughing as Millie woke up even more, while Blitz was off in his own little corner clutching his head in pain.
"Moxxie for the love all things sinful and unclean I will murder you here and now if you don't stop pounding your wife against that headboard." Millie gave out a squeak as Moxxie went speechless instantly, while Alex picked Loona up off the floor and gently lay her down on the couch. He then went and got a cool cloth and wrapped her head in it, just in case. He then went back into the bathroom to get the rest of his clothes on. Afterward, he went and felt around Loona's head for any signs of bruising. Finding none he chuckled.
"Well I guess she must have a very thick head." He muttered to himself as Loona Slowly came to.
"I'm not deaf you know." She grumbled holding a hand to her head as Alex went and got her a glass of water and then handed her some pain meds as well.
"Thanks." She said knocking the pills back as she took a deep gulp of water. Alex was sweating now as he gave her another once over to make sure she was alright.
"I'm fine, "She grumbled as Alex backed off. Seeing him back off made her huff in annoyance.
"Look, I-." She cursed her inability to properly speak about her feelings out loud. She took a deep breath, winced at the pain going through her skull, and gave Alex a stern look.
"I'm sorry," she saw Alex visibly relax at this but went on.
"Sorry for last night, for snapping at you and Millie." She said as the imp in question walked past her. Millie came over and gave her a hug, to which she tolerated without so much as a snarl.
"It's ok Loony, I may have taken things a little too far." She giggled as Loona rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, you did." She then grinned as Alex once more swept a hand along her forehead,
"But it's not all bad." She gave her a wink as Alex was satisfied with his examination. Millie giggled to herself as she went and got herself and Moxxie some coffee.
"So how big was it?" She asked causing Alex to drop his bag of food.
"Oh no, we're not going there!" He demanded, as soon as he turned his back however Loona gave a general estimation with her hands, which made Millie blush and giggle at the same time.
As Alex was ruthlessly getting embarrassed by his friends Sophia was busy teaching herself the finer points of earth's magic. Coming back to an empty apartment did little to soothe her foul mood, but once she had gotten a hold of every book on magic she could find in her local area she felt slightly less foul. Spreading them all out on her bed she once more began to pour over them, going over the list of titles she had found.
"Voodoo and You, Reiki Energy Medicine, Internal Martial Arts, Demon Summoning and Binding." She smiled as her eyes glanced at the last book in her collection.
"The Demon's Encyclopedia, A List of all things Spooky and Evil within the Supernatural world." Looking over at her phone she glanced at her own app and glared. From what she could hear Alex was still in that hotel room with his co-workers. Right now Loona was laughing at something he had said and it made her blood boil.
"Don't worry Alex, I'll save you from that bitch and the rest of those freaks as well." she then pulled out one last book from her own collection at home.
"ESP: A History of Psychic Phenomena." She then began to concentrate and focus as the book had taught her. All of her attention and will power was devoted to the tool the book had recommended, a small feather held in a copper dish. As she poured all of her hatred and anger into the task at hand, she scrunched up her face in fixation on a single goal. So focused was she on her task that she didn't see the tiny feather shift a little bit, floating into the air ever so slightly.
After hours of reading and cross referencing Sophia was burned out, her anger only able to take her so far, she soon collapsed as exhaustion set in, tempering her anger, but never diminishing it. She was just about to fall asleep when she heard her phone ring. Glancing over at it she took one look at it and scrambled over to answer as she saw the caller ID.
"Hello? Alex? Hey!" She said all in one breath as Alex took the phone from his ear and held it out at arm's length.
"Hey, there you are, I've been trying to call you all day." He said sounding worried. Sophia took a look at her phone and saw that he had indeed left several messages for her. She blushed in embarrassment but regained her voice as she let out a giggle.
"Oh well, when you know how it is when you're researching a new subject and all that." She let out a nervous laugh, one that Alex snickered at,
"Well do you think you'll be able to put all that research on hold to come out to the beach with us tomorrow?" He asked and Sophia's heart skipped a beat.
"T-t-t-tom-marrow?" She asked as Alex gave a nod.
"Uh, huh." He looked over to the other's who all had smile's on there faces, all except for Loona who wore a small frown.
"YES!" Sophia shouted as she quickly began to pack her bags.
"I'll be there first thing in the mourning!" She shouted and then hung up.
Alex just snickered as he shook his head. Moxxie however was confused.
"How is she going to get here? She didn't even ask for directions?" Loona cut Alex off.
"That bitch has some kind of tracking device on him." She growled as Alex nodded.
"Yeah she hacks into my phone and turns on the GPS." He stated causing the other employees to cringe.
"Isn't that considered stalking?" Alex gave another nod.
"Yes, but I don't really have any other options seeing as she's got the lowest rent around for miles." He sighed as he thought about how he and Sophia first met. He was brought back to the present however by a punch to the shoulder.
"You seriously need to make her cut that shit out." Loona advised. Alex just got nervous but he didn't disagree with her. He nodded as he thought about it.
"I know." He said as he got his bag packed for the beach tomorrow. Loona gave out an annoyed sigh but a smirk adorned her muzzle once more as she saw Alex look over his pistol, only to put it back in his holster and then pull out a second revolver from a shoulder holster he had hidden underneath his shirt. She gave the snub nose a look of curiosity when Alex spotted her.
"Never know when something might go wrong, and honestly my Single action is nice but I really don't want my colt to get any sand in it." He checked his cylinder to make sure it was full of the five round it could hold and put it back under his shoulder. Loona smiled as she made sure she had all of her gear for tomorrow as well.
"Ok folks we need to hit the hay early so we can get up nice and early for the beach tomorrow." Blitz ordered as he threw himself into his bed. Moxxie and Millie did the same, while Loona began to fiddle with her night gown she had gotten earlier that day.
"Hey Alex?" She asked. He poked his head out of the bathroom.
"Yes?" Loona thought about what she was going to say next and quickly blurted it out before her nerves could stop her.
"Do you think I could ever be considered attractive?" Her face went bright red as Alex stood there. His own face went red as he gave her a once over.
"Well, yeah, I mean it's not like you aren't attractive right now-"He stopped himself as he heard what he'd just said aloud. Loona was definitely blushing now, a small smirk adorning her face as she looked away from Alex's cherry expression.
"Uh, ok thanks for being honest," She said hurrying to her own bed where she quickly got under the cover's to hide her haunted face. Alex just stood there hoping he'd said the right thing.
"Why do I always have to get awkward!?" He scolded himself as he continued taking his nightly shower.
