Chapter 7: Spring Healing.

Alex stretched out across the couch at the hotel and sighed in contentment.
"This is really nice." He looked over to see Moxxie snoring away in his bed while Millie had a book about torture in her hand and was slowly reading through it, scribbling little notes in the margin.
"All right folks beer is here!" Blitz shouted as he through the door to their room open with gusto. Loona looked up from her phone and smiled as Tex followed her father into the room, the hell hound giving Alex a look of curiosity, one that Alex just smiled and waved at.
"So it's true then," He said as he hauled in a beer keg, setting it down gently on the floor. Alex looked over from his own book and gave Tex a curious glance. He smirked and then elaborated.
"New spread that a human was spotted in hell, and then Stolas just went and got a living voucher for you, so it wasn't the best kept secret." Alex looked concerned.
"Is is that going to be an issue? Like it's not going to cause any problem for you guys?" He asked Blitz and the others.
"If it is then I can leave." He said getting to his feet. Blitz walked over and threw an arm around his waist and set him back down.
"Don't worry, Stolas vouched for you, that's, means that if anyone tried to pull some shit, they'll not only have to go through us," He panned around to all of I.M.P, Millie gave him a thumbs up, Moxxie was still asleep, and Loona gave him a smirk, "But they'll also have to contend with a thirsty owl, who's also a prince of hell." Blitz gave him a pat on the back.
"So don't worry, we're on vacation, your a part of our crew whether they like it or not," He went over to a keg and began to pour himself a drink.
"And we're so going to get raging hangovers!" He then downed the glass of beer in one chug and went to grab another. Alex just laughed, he was extremely grateful for this job, and he really didn't want to ruin it for his friends. However, if there wasn't an issue with him working for them then he wasn't going to stress over it. Loona let out a huff as she looked around the room, and gave Alex a look of curiosity.
"Hey Blitz, I'ma go see about getting that swimsuit." She grabbed her phone while Blitz gave Alex a nod, he got to his feet and stretched, while Loona rolled her eye's, a slight smirk pulling at the edge of her muzzle as she used her magic to throw up her human disguise. Blitz walked over to his daughter.
"Remember what I said about freaks drooling over you?" Loona smiled as she sent a glance Alex's way. Blitz smiled as he waved it off.
"Yeah well, he's a Christian and you know how pious and pure they are." He gave her a hug.
"Besides that means that I don't have to worry about him trying to pull anything." His eyes lit up for a second.
"Because if he did then, well I'd have to hurt him worse than he is now." Loona just grinned nervously as she gave Alex a head tilt, thinking about what she'd do if he did try anything. Blitz just smiled however as s thought entered his head.
"He is black so you know what that mean's eh, Loona." He gave his daughter a nudge, Loona was lost.
"Uh. no." Blitz smiled as Alex got finished gathering his Phone, wallet, and keys.
"It means he has that big dick energy!" He said shoving his daughter towards Alex, who caught her and for the second time in a week the two locked eyes. Alex now red in the face quickly helped stand her back up, meanwhile, she was glaring daggers at her father.
"Ok, so yeah I'll be back later, see ya." She quickly left the room with Alex in tow. Millie just giggled as Blitz smiled.
"You know Sir if I didn't know any better I'd say you wanted those two to get together." Moxxie said as he got out of bed and went over to the coffee machine. Blitz just chuckled.
"Eh I wouldn't be opposed to it, all things considered." He flopped onto his own bed, which was actually a futon.
"At least then she'd have a chance at having a better life." He muttered under his breath, a look of somber realization hitting him in the gut. A flash later and his smile was back.
"Well, not like that will happen anyway. Loona isn't into nerds remember?" He wiggled his eyebrows, while Millie giggled.
"Really could've fooled me with how protective she is of him." Blitz just shrugged.
"Eh that's more to do with the fact that he saved her life. She feels like she owes him." He took another big gulp of his beer glass.
"Just as long as he protects her with his life, I'll be happy, whatever they do on their off time is of no concern to me." He smirked as he brought his phone to his face, a little blinking dot letting him know where his baby girl was at all times. Millie just shook her head.
"Well I do hope our little hell hound continues to mellow out some." She smiled as she looked over towards the doorway.
"It's nice not having her be grumpy all the time." She went back to her book of torture while Moxxie just sat back and drank his coffee. Blitz offered Moxxie some beer to which he polity but sternly declined.
"No thank you, sir. The last time I ingested that vile concoction I nearly ended up fish food." He gave a look of disgust at the very thought. Blitz just shrugged.
"Soot yourself, more for me!" He then filled up several glasses full of beer and began to chug them all down like no tomorrow.
Meanwhile Alex and Loona were in his car and driving down to the mall. As they pulled into the parking lot Loona winced seeing the damage caused by there last visit here.
"Feel's strange being back here again." She remarked getting out of the vehicle. Alex just grinned.
"Yeah well, hopefully, we won't have another shootout or anything like that." Loona just smirked.
"Oh, don't worry those cherubs haven't tried anything in a while, probably laying low in some shitty motel or something." Alex was curious about that.
"So what exactly happened there?" He asked as the two walked towards the mall's entrance. Loona gave it some thought.
"From what Blitz, Moxxie, and Millie tell me they were hired by some excentric scientist to kill his best friend. Long story short, those three assholes tried to interfere with our job and they ended up killing the guy we were hired to off." Alex let out a whistle, to which Loona's ears pinned back.
"Oh, sorry," He said giving a nervous chuckle earning a small growl from Loona. She shook her head to clear out the ringing and looked around the mall. Spotting a map Loona made her way over to it with Alex following behind.
"So do you happen to know where a store that sell's bathing suits would be?" she asked studying the map, which while it reminded her of the mall's in hell, there was a distinct lack of blood, and screaming. Alex gave it a look over and saw a Hot Topic, while he thought she would love that they didn't sell swimsuits, as far as he knew.
"Hmm, well, we can try American Eagle." He pointed to the picture of the store and what they offered. Loona gave it a once over and smirked.
"Ok then, lead the way." She then followed Alex through the maze of a building and when they reached their destination she let out a tither.
"Well you defiantly know how to pick 'em." Not sure if that was good or bad, Alex decided to take it as a compliment and followed Loona into the store. The two then spent the next few hours looking around with Loona picking out a variety of different outfits. She then went to the dressing rooms and dragged Alex along.
"So what do you think?" She said stepping out of the changing room showing off a flowing black skirt with an equally flowing crop top, the material wasn't quite see through but it did leave little to the imagination. Alex stammered out his response, Loona taking that as a sign that it was defiantly going to turn heads out and about on the beach, which is exactly what she wanted. She laughed as Alex's face went bright red and he then started looking anywhere else but at her.
"So, that's one down," She smirked as she went back into the changing room to get another outfit. In the end, she left the store with the bathing skirt, they then went over to Hot Topic where she found a nice studded red leather jacket to wear over her normal outfit and she even stopped by Victoria's Secret for a little more teasing fun. All in all, she bought three separate outfits, Alex being the gentleman he was offering to carry them all, Loona obliging his request. The two decided to stop by a small fast food joint for lunch.
"Hello, Welcome to Wendy's how can I help you?" The cashier asked as he took their orders. When they were satisfied with their food they made their way back to the entrance they had come through, with Loona remarking that, "getting through the mall without incident felt very refreshing for once." Alex just laughed as he thought about something on their way to his car.
"Say Loona do you know how to drive?" He asked causing her to top and process his question. Her ear's twitched but eventually, she fixed him with a grin.
"Of course I do." He threw her his keys and hopped into the passenger's seat.
"Awesome, I'll drive shotgun then." He carefully packed Loona's bags into his trunk and hopped in. Loona was stoked, it had been a while since she had driven anything but she still remembered the basics. One death defying trip later Alex shakily got out of his vehicle while Loona felt as energized as only an adrenaline junky could be.
"Wow, that was, exhilarating!" She tossed Alex his key's which hit him in the face and then slid down his shirt, and onto the ground. Alex bent down to pick them up, but with his shaky legs, he quickly stumbled and fell to the ground.
"Oh shit." He based himself on his one good hand and luckily didn't break it as his legs buckled. Loona was at his side ready to help him up, her ears pinned back in embarrassment.
"It wasn't that bad was it?" She grinned as Alex just smirked.
"Honestly no, just a little more than I was expecting, I know of very few people that can drive like that, and it's been awhile since I was in a car with them." He wrapped an arm around her shoulder as she hauled him to his feet. When she was certain he wasn't going to fall again he insisted that she go on ahead while he unload the car. She however just grabbed the three bags of cloths and help hobble him to the door.
"Hey come on now, what are friends for?" Alex just smiled as he knocked on the door, which opened to a sight he was genuinely happy to see. Blitz was passed out on the floor, while Tex and Millie were busy having an arm wrestling contest and Moxxie was watching an episode of cops, while relaxing on the bed that he had set for massage mode. Millie gave out yell of triumph as she pinned Tex's arm to the table.
"Ah yeah, who's bad? Millie, Millie!" she chanted as Tex just chuckled. Seeing the two other's enter the room however made Millie pause as she shot over to Loona and demanded to see what she had bought. Loona shook her head and laughed as she handed the bags over to Millie who went over to her bed and dumped the contents of them out all over it. Alex meanwhile went over to the fridge and grabbed a beer.
"So how's was everyone's day?" he asked as Moxxie and Tex filled him in on the event's of the afternoon. Meanwhile Loona had went over to Millie's bed and rearranged the various cloths into the proper outfits. When Millie saw the three finished outfits she let out a low whistle and smirked at Loona who simply stood there trying to not let a smirk of her own cross her muzzle.
"What?" She demanded with a false anger that Millie saw straight through. Millie nodded over to Alex, who was still in conversation with Moxxie, and wiggled her eyebrows.
"So I take it he got to see you in all of these?" She said as Loona's ear's burned.
"What? NO!" she shouted covering her mouth a second later as all eye's in the room went to her. She just let out a nervous giggle as they all returned to what they were doing before hand. She then gave Millie a stern look that didn't deter the smirk from her face one bit. Loona rolled her eyes and stood there,arms crossed.
"He only got to see me in the swim suit, ok" Her muzzle burning now as Millie let out a gasp.
"Oh, ho, ho, pretty risque for someone who doesn't like wearing and underwear." She winked as Loona's face heated up again. She then growled as Millie began to laugh at her friends exspence.
"Hey, he didn't see anything," She let out a huff as her arms crossed once more. "He was to busy looking everywhere else.' Millie just giggled as she went over to her dresser and pulled out a small flier.
"Well then it's a good thing we'll be heading over to the beach tomorrow then won't it?" She asked as Loona took the brochure and frowned, then she let out an annoyed sigh and handed it back to Millie.
"Look it doesn't matter ok." She gave Alex smirk as he began to arm wrestle with Tex.
"He's not my type." She flipped back her hair and smiled over at Millie.
"He's a good friend, that's all." She stated with a finality that just made Millie giggle again.
"Sure hun, keep telling yourself that." Loona just growled as her word were yet again blown off by her co-worker.
"And you guy's wonder why I don't like talking all that much." She muttered as she gathered up her cloths and packed them away neatly in her own dresser. Millie just gave a tither as she saw Loona being extra careful with her new cloths.
"Hey nothing wrong with wanting to look sexy for your boy toy." This however struck a nerve with Loona.
"He's not my boy toy!" She snapped at Millie drawing everyone's attention to her now. She let out a growl as she slammed her drawer shut and stormed off towards the door to outside.
"I need to go for a walk." She was just at the door when she felt a hand on her shoulder. Whipping her head around she felt Alex recoil as well as saw the look of fear run across his face.
"Alone," She barked and then slammed the door on her way out. Millie looked from Alex to the door and then back to her brochure.
"I-" She was at a loss for words, so instead she just huddled there with her legs pulled close to her chest. Moxxie went over to comfort his wife while Alex just stood there conflicted. His job was to guard Loona whenever she left, bu she did need some time to herself right now. Sighing in resignation he said a quick prayer for her safe return and then went back to his beer, positioning his chair so that he could watch the door and if necessary reach it quickly.
Loona just took a drag of her cigarette, held the smoke in for a few seconds and then let it out.
"Stupid." She huffed as she held her knees close to her chest. Looking out into the night sky helped calm her nerves. It still did little to calm her anger.
"Why am I even angry?" She thought to herself. She snickered as she thought about Millie's comment.
"So what? He's not my boy toy, hell he's not even my type." She snorted as she thought about what Millie was even insinuating.
"Please, like he'd even go for a bitch like me." She took another drag of her cigarette and then threw away the rest of it, stomping the butt out so as to not cause another fire. She stretched out, her tail giving a satisfying pop as endorphins flushed throughout her body. Letting out a breath she collected her thoughts and made her way back to the room. Seeing that the lights were out she slowly opened the door and peeked inside. Her night vision picked up Moxxie and Millie in one bed, while Tex had evidently left, leaving Blitz passed out on his bed. Alex had fallen asleep in his chair. She let out a sigh as she looked around the room and then back to Alex
"Idiot." She muttered to herself as she went over to his still form and hefted him up in her arms. He was surprisingly light weight, and she had no trouble getting him onto the couch. Seeing him shiver made her frown however, looking around, she soon realized that there were no other blankets in the room seeing as Blitz had hogged most of them. Sighing in defeat she decided to do something that she had never done before.
"I swear to god you better be asleep or I will strangle you." She muttered to Alex as she lifted him up and got underneath him, holding him to her chest as she got comfortable. Unbeknownst to her Millie gave a little smile as she watched the scene unfold before her. Feeling something cold touch her belly Loona grasped it and saw that it was his cross. She stared at it for a few seconds more before she realized what it was and let it drop back to Alex's side. Looking over her hand she was greatly surprised to see it wasn't even singed. Giving it a curious glance she just huffed and got comfortable once more.
"Good night, dumbass." she muttered slowly drifting off to sleep.
