Okay so this part is actually kind of boring, but bear with me I think that it should be in the next section something major happens (once again assuming no side plot gets me distracted but I don't foresee one). Like I said kind of boring so don't have your hopes really high up but I think that I need this section more as a connector and to give a little background for some other stuff as well it may not make it even into the final draft after I have everything written and get some feed back. I would like to thank all the people that have been criticizing, favouriting, rating, and just commenting on how much you like the story it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I question if anyone even reads these so platypus. One final thing initially I was going to try and thank everyone for commenting etc. personally but then I realized I am much too lazy to do that so sorry if you don't get a personal thank you don't think I hate you or something but you may get a personal response if you provide me with a really great comment or suggestion and I feel that it warrants special attention. I do read every comment though and if you just want to talk give me a shout. Thanks as always constant reader (no one has yet to guess who the author is that I am making a reference to so 5 points still up for grabs)

Recognizing that they had really finished their talk Will and Jake exited the vehicle. Will missing the closeness of the car walked over and took Jakes hand as they walked up the sidewalk to his house. With a bit of a struggle the wolf managed to get a proper grip on his house key and slide it into the lock without releasing Jakes paw. As he turned the key he heard the lock slide back; with a single fluid motion he pulled the key from the lock and opened the door.

Will walked in first pulling the fox along behind him, who in turn pulled the door closed. "Wow this place is huge. Now I have a question for you how are your roommates going to feel about you bring a guy home." Said Jake hoping that is wasn't too soon to tease Will about his reaction earlier. The playful jibe stung a little, but Will knew it was Jake just trying to be good-humoured so he didn't say anything.

"Well actually I live alone" said Will feeling the colour rise in his cheeks, "my parents rent the whole house for me."

"Your folks must be loaded if they rent his whole house just for you. You didn't tell me that you were rich. What else aren't who telling me?" questioned Jake, lifting his eyebrows playfully.

"Nope my lips are sealed. Remember I don't have to tell you about me until dessert, and that is still a movie and a short walk away," said Will glad to be able to tease Jake for once.

"Fine" said Jake rolling his eyes "but please pick a short movie the suspense is killing me"

"Okay, follow me to the living room and we will find something short to watch" said Will turning to lead the way to the living room, but still making sure to let his tail brush Jake's chest, just to tease him.

Jake sat down on the couch and began to watch Will go through the DVDs looking for something short. While he sat there Jake couldn't help but stare at the sexy wolf butt swaying unintentionally as Will examined and rejected each movie that he picked up. Finally the wolf selected a movie, much to Jake's disappointment.

"How about we watch this one now because it is short and comedic and after we get ice cream we can watch something a little scarier?" enquired the wolf.

"Okay, but you have to promise to cuddle me to keep me from getting too scared when we watch the horror movie." Replied Jake with a grin that suggested the film wasn't the real reason he wanted to cuddle.

"I think I can arrange that" said Will bending over to put the DVD in the tray and purposely trying to giving Jake a nice view of his sexy ass. He succeeded in giving Jake a nice little show, and the fox could feel a stirring in his pants as he began to poke out of his sheath. Will stood up and began to walk over to sit with Jake on the couch.

"After that little show you gave me I don't think any movie could live up" joked Jake. Will just blushed and sat down next to Jake and let his hand find its way to his boyfriend's thigh.

Jake could feel the warmth of Will's hand through his jeans and it only served to make him even harder. He knew what he wanted to do with the wolf but was also very aware that if he moved to fast he could scare him off, since Will still wasn't fully comfortable with the fact that he was gay.

Jake snuggled up close to Will and let his head rest on the wolf's shoulder. Closing his eyes Jake let the fullness of his stomach and the comforting warmth of Will's body lull him off to sleep. Will knew that Jake had gone to sleep as soon as the fox's breathing levelled out into a steady rhythm of in and out. He didn't really mind but he was increasingly aware of how hard he was getting with Jake pressed close to him. Knowing there was nothing he could do right now about the throbbing in his boxers, Will placed a kiss on the top of the fox's head and let himself rest his own head on top of Jake's. Will didn't really pay much attention to the movie; he was more enthralled by the steady rhythm of breathing coming from the fox that he was increasingly sure that he loved.

As the movie ended the screen faded to black and the credits began to roll. Will figured that he better wake the sleeping beauty on his shoulder or he would probably be given hell for letting him keep sleeping. Feeling somewhat naughty Will began to tug on Jake's ears to wake him up. He started gently but as the fox refused to wake up, he began to tug harder and harder until success! Jake was pulled from his deep sleep.

"Why did you have to pull of my ears?" mumbled Jake still partially asleep.

"Well, the movie ended and I figured you would want me to wake you up so we could go and get some ice cream, and so I could tell you all about me." said Will trying to sound as innocent and sweet as possible.

"Okay yeah I get why I was woken up, but I still ask you why by the ears?" said Jake now awake enough to catch onto the little game that Will was playing.

"Well to be honest it was just that they were too cute for me to resist" replied Will.

"Okay, okay your right, but next time a little nudge might work just as well" he said smiling.

"Alright I will try and remember that for next time" said Will and with that Jake leaned over and kissed Will.

As their muzzles met Will opened his lips inviting Jakes tongue to come and explore the cavern of his mouth. Jake let his tongue dance with Will's caressing it teasing it for a moment before he moved it on, allowing it to trace the sharp outcroppings of the wolf's teeth and lightly caress Will's upper pallet applying just enough pressure to cause a gentle tickling. Will wrapped his arms around Jake's middle and let them slide down so that he could cup the fox's firm ass. Will pulled Jake in and under him as he leaned forward the pair now lay on the sofa a mass of caressing and rubbing. Will was fully erect and could feel the throbbing of Jake's penis pressing against him through his jeans. He could feel the pulsating rhythm of his own wolf cock crying out for Jakes caress. As if in response to his thoughts he felt Jake's hand at the waistband of his jeans groping blindly for the button so that he could gain entry. Will let his hand slide down and gently pulled the paw away.

"Not yet" murred Will as he broke their kiss.

"Too soon?" questioned Jake trying to sound understanding while hiding his disappointment.

"Nope, just too early" softly replied the wolf with what sounded like a bit of regret at his decision. Will stood up and helped Jake get to his feet. They stood looking at each other and smiling at the ruffled fur and bulging jeans, knowing that they must look the same.

"So now what are we supposed to do" asked Jake.

"Well how about we go and try and tame our wild fur, then we can go for ice cream and come back here and watch a horror movie" replied Will "and once that is over we can pick up where we left off." He finished raising an eyebrow.

"

You know you're evil right" teased Jake.

"Yeah but you know you love it" teased Will right back.

Will led Jake to the bathroom upstairs so that they could try and straighten up their fur a little before they went out. For the most part they succeeded but Will was having some problems getting a particularly stubborn patch to flatten out.

"I think it looks kind of cute" said Jake after watching Will try for the fifteenth time to flatten out his fur. "I say just leave it, it will act as a reminder as to where we were before we took our little break" he continued. Will just cocked his head to the side and looked at Jake with his blue eyes. "Fix it if you want but I am ready to go and I might just leave you behind" threatened Jake light heartedly.

"Alright, let's go" said Will exasperatedly. Jake walked out of the bathroom and Will made one more futile attempt to flatten his fur before giving up and following the fox.

Hand in hand the couple walked down the stairs to the front entry letting their tails intertwine in a mix of silver and red. Will grabbed his wallet and keys as they strolled out of the house. Jake waited patiently, while he watched the wolf struggle to lock the door one handed. Triumphantly Will pulled the key from the lock and began to lead Jake down the path towards the sidewalk. Turning left the couple began their short walk to the ice cream store, the last rays of the setting sun behind them, gently warming their backs.

"So I guess it is my turn to tell you all about me?" asked Will not really expecting an answer. "Well let's see, like you I am an only child" continued Will "my parents have money and"

"Have money is an understatement" interrupted Jake, "your family must be loaded if they rent and entire house just for you"

"If you are done interrupting my story can I continue?" asked Will feigning annoyance at the fox. Jake mimed zipping his lips and nodded to encourage Will to continue his story. "Where was I? My parents are both corporate lawyers so I never really see them, but I don't really mind they are pretty uptight about everything so them not being around just means I get more freedom. I just came out, well sort of, I told Sarah and I'm dating you but I haven't really told anyone else and my parents have no idea. You are my first boyfriend and I think probably the best relationship I have ever been in. I knew I was gay in high school but I was able to lie to myself until I saw you sitting in front of me in history class. Let's see Sarah is basically my only real friend, we have been friends since we before we can remember, I hang out with some other people on occasion, but for the most part it is just Sarah and I. That is really all I can think to tell you about me, at least all that's important" finished Will.

"Wow I think that you are more boring than me" said Jake.

"Oh shut up" said Will giving Jake a purposeful bump with his hip. The pair walked the last block to the ice cream shop without another word.

Will and Jake stood outside the store. "This is it then" said Jake, "I mean a pink and white stripped awning?"

"I know it is a bit stupid, but it's close and being a bit garish adds to the fun of the place" replied Will, "This is also only the second time I have ever come here". With no further delay the couple walked up and pulled open the door.

A jingle from the bell on the door frame announced their presence to the female husky behind the counter. Will led Jake up to the glass topped freezer so that they could decide what to get. Before them, sealed away in icy prisons lay an expanse of colours each labelled with a flavour.

"Hiyah!" said the husky, "did you guys know what you want yet or do you need a couple of seconds to decide?"

"Uhm I think that I know what I want" said Will slightly flustered by the cheery nature of the counter girl, "How about you Jake, have you picked something?"

"Yeah I think so, I will have a scoop of the raspberry cheese cake" replied Jake

"And I think I will have the same" said Will to the husky.

"Okie dokie" confirmed the girl as she began to busy herself scooping their ice creams into cones. Will looked around, the black and white tiled floors gleaming, the tables topped in a horrid shade of orange.

'Yup the place hadn't changed a bit since the first time he and Sarah had come here' thought Will. It had been a couple of years since they had been here, they had come right after he had moved into his place, and yet everything in here told a lie, telling him it was only yesterday. The husky handed him and Jake their cones, and Will handed over some money.

"So how long have you two been together if you don't mind me asking?" questioned the girl as she was grabbing Will's change.

"Oh, this is actually our first date" answered Will noticing that Jake had already begun to stuff his face with ice cream.

"Well you guys make a really cute couple I hope things go well for you" said the husky as she sat back down on her stool behind the counter.

"Uh thanks," said Will slightly taken aback by the kind reception that they were receiving,

"Have a good night" said the girl as she began to look down at her book.

"Yeah you too" said Will as he led Jake back outside. The sun had almost entirely disappeared and the soft glow of the fluorescent streetlights had begun to fill the mild night air. Will was still in slight shock over how nice that girl had been.

"I told you" gloated Jake finally pulling his muzzle away from his ice cream.

"Told me what?" asked Will

"That not everyone is as huge of an asshole as the waiter at the restaurant" replied the fox.

Will just leaned in and licked the fox's nose "Sorry but you had a little ice cream on your face and I couldn't resist."

"That's alright" said Jake as he leaned over a planted a small kiss his boyfriend's lips, "Sorry but you are just so cute that I couldn't resist." Will repressing a giggle, just smiled and kept on walking and eating his ice cream. Both finished their ice creams before they had reached the end of the block and merely walked in silence savouring each other's warmth. The very last light of the day had faded while they were in the shop, and they found themselves making frequent pauses just to plant soft kisses on each other's lips. The quite of the night was punctuated only by the sound of an occasionally passing car. During one particularly long kiss Will knew that this is what it meant to truly be happy, as he savoured the flavours of the ice cream and his boyfriend.

As they passed under a streetlamp Will heard another car go by, only that wasn't quite right he thought to himself. He had seen the headlights as the car drove towards them, but he didn't hear fading sound of an engine drive away. It didn't take him any time to realize what was going on as soon as he heard that voice cut like a knife through the cooling air.

"Hey you fucking fur fags" shouted a lion from the rolled down window of the car that had stopped next to them. Will wanted so badly just to drop Jake's paw but knew that he couldn't do that to him, not again, not tonight, so instead he just tightened his grip. "If you like sucking cock so much we have four in here that could use a little attention" taunted the lion. Will could feel his heart racing and hear the blood pounding in his ears.

"It is okay, just keep walking and they will leave us alone" whispered Jake. Will let the fox lead him, he had been right of course as they continued to walk they didn't hear the sound of car doors opening and closing, as Will feared they would, but only the sound of an engine revving as it drove away.

"I am really proud of how you handled yourself back there. I know that can't have been easy to keep holding my hand. I know how self-conscious you are about being gay but you kept true to yourself and didn't let them stop you being who you are, even if you did crush my hand" said Jake.

"You were right before, it was easier this time" said Will, "I think that the girl at the ice cream shop being so nice also helped me realize that people are okay with me being gay, and I guess I also relied pretty heavily on you to give me that support that I needed, as I'm sure your paw can corroborate." Neither spoke for the rest of the walk back to Will's house. The playful mood they had been in was gone, but they were still holding on to each other as they walked on in silence.
