Its Aces birthday ttime for things to go tits up this year.
The morning dawned as Snowball began his usua; routine of starting the coffee. Ace shuffled out of his room like a caffiene deprived zombie. "Happy Birthday you old mutt" he said "Thanks man coming to dinner tonight?" Ace asked "Sorry man i couldnt get someone to cover my shift and I need Zella to help me into the booth anyways. Sorry again." "Eh we still have 2 other friends so it won't be a big loss." Snowball went into the living rom=om and threw an unrapped present in a bag at Ace. He took the t-shirt out of the bag an ac/dc tshirt he saw in the local recrd store and loved "Happy Birthday figured you'd want this didnt get time to wrap it though" Anowball said leaning on hisi arm crutch sipping his coffee. "THanks man appreciate itl."
The day went as normal Ace off to work as Snowball spent his afternoon with z ON HER BREAK AT WORK. Til the evening came/Naomi said shd meet them at the resturant and Ace was first to arrive followed by Shemoni holinga bit wrapped package in her arms. She sat it down next to her as she in turn sat now "Happy birthday Ace. Where is everyone?" "You're brother couldnt take his shift off so he and zzerll are at the studio. And i have noidea where Kenji and Naomi are. Assime they'll be along shortly." he said
But the two of them were still ast the store deciding what to get him.
What about a console?" Kenji asked. "No shemoni got him a switch already dont want to steal her thunder." came her response."What about....." picking a cd he asked well started to until Naomi cut him off and said "I know you want that boxed set and the answer is no. We need something thats him something that says we care about him." "He's got that its called you. And I dont swing that way myself." Kenji said picking up a toy lightsaber and swinging it around. "En garde" Naomi said swinging her own saber at him and connecting. So there they were having a lightsaber fight in Walmarts toy aisle suddenly forgtetting what theywere there for. Well they say yiou can take the adult out of the kid but not the kid out of the adult and some people just can't redidt being 7 again.
Meanwhile about an hour in Ace and Shemoni were sitting there at the table wondering where the others were. "Naomi should have been here by now at bare minimum iexpected her to remember it was my birthday." He was getting huffy now. is joking demeanor not a joke anymore. "Ace hro relax maybe they hit traffic or there was an accident." she said. "No wat she'd call if that werw the case." Just than the waiter approached "It seems are you ready to order aolmopst an hour after you arrived?" Ace sighed, "the surf n turf please." "Ill have the stuffed flounder. and 2 glasses of chardonday please." Shemoni said. The waiter bowed and took the order to the back.
Later In The Night....
A burst of laughter was heard as the two of them cracked up. "He never saw it coming. he was too focus on Sonya and hit the pole head on.: :Oh man your brother never told me that." Ace said. "He didnt eve tell me. I had to force it out of him. Actually Sonya told me everything. And a lot more too." Shemoni said. After the two had finish their desert the areed to just go back home since the others were clearly not coming.
When they got home Kenji had pulled up and dropped Naomi off. They realized they lost track of time and just headed for home. She met them in the garage. "Happy Birthday Ace." She said trying to smooth over her fuck up. "Yeah wasnt it the two friends i counted on to come and you guys flaked on me. Only Shemoni showed. Snowball and Zella at least hada valid reason. What was my girlfriend doing all night!?" Ace was getting huffed. Naomi chased him up the stairs as he huffed away "Sorry. Kenji and I lost track of time and it was too late. I didn't mean too." "Didn't mean too she says. Her noyfriend wasnt important and she didn't mean to. You know how that makes you sound and look?!" A rare moment where Ace lost his cool and his senses were dangerously next. "I thought you loved me never thought you'd yell at me." she said. "I do just not your actions sometimes. I dont know what you guys did but it was pretty selfish. Id at least have called if it was me." Ace began to cool down his voice starting to retrn to nomal. "I made a mistake. We all make them but hanging it over my head is foolish. I didnt think andit wasnt intentiion to get distraft and ignore your birthday. Kenji and I were looking for a birthday gift for you and we got distracted and had a lightsaber fight." she said. "You," hr dsif with a puzzled look , "Had a lightsaber fight..... with Kenji..... in Walmart....." and he started laughing at the thought. "Whats so funny!?" She demaned "You now get in here." as het gesturedtoward his bedroom and she followed him in.
Lesson learned that even the biggest mistakes can be sorted out with wordsnot anger.
