Unexpected Love - Chapter 2 - Your welcome to stay!
Eliseo got to his car just in time to hear a pair of feet following behind. He stopped and the steps behind him stopped. He turned around to see the fox. After about one minute of silence "My name is Quiri" she blurted out. "Eliseo" he responded with a casual wave. "I do have a problem" she continued with a sigh. "You need a ride? because I'd be happy to help you out. "Thank you" is all she could say as Eliseo unlocked the doors of his car remotely.
After opening the door for her and getting in himself, they departed. They were just exiting the airport as it began to rain. "So, where to?" He asked. "Well... I actually have no place to go." she replied. "What? then why did you buy a ticket to Earth with no place to go?" he asked shocked. "As you may know" she started "with the rebellion uprising on Terran a lot of the confrontations have been in suburban areas, and a lot of civilians have already been killed. I just grabbed what I could and left it all behind". "That's horrible, well then do you need a place to stay?" he said. "I'm sorry for asking again, but why"? "Because I care." Is all he said as they pulled into his driveway.
He pulled the key out of the ignition, got out and helped his new guest with her luggage. He led her inside, and she couldn't help but marvel at everything in the house. After about ten minutes she sniffed around a bit and was led into the kitchen by a mixture of aromas. There was a bowl of fresh fruit on the counter which she stared at; she was amazed by the colors, shapes, and smells of these fruits. "Would you like some?" Eliseo said breaking the silence. She nodded, as Eliseo rummaged around the drawers for a knife. After finding one he grabbed an apple and began slicing it with great precision. All Quiri could do is watch in amazement as he made the excellent cuts as if it was second nature to him. "Here" he said handing her a slice. She took in her hand and studied it for a while before raising it to her muzzle and taking a bite. Her eyes opened wide "Its sweet" she said with a smile.
After they were done with their snack, it had already gotten late. So Eliseo led Quiri to the guest room. Having no nightwear he gave her one of his shirts to use as a night shirt. It fit her nice, 4 inches above the knee. "If you need anything, I'm two doors down, bathroom is first door down. Good night." He said as he left towards his room.
That night a storm was building, with pretty loud thunder and bright lightning to match. Eliseo didn't care much, he always stares at the ceiling for about an hour before drifting off to sleep. And as he was about to drift off, he was awoken by the sound of two paws coming down the hallway. He looked up to see Quiri standing in the doorway. "I can't sleep, the thunder frightens me" she said in a worried voice. "Can I sleep with you"? She asked. The question caught him off guard, but all he could say was "sure". She quickly slipped under the covers and fell asleep in no time. Eliseo still didn't know what to think of this, and as he was thinking Quiri still asleep subconsciously rolled over wrapped her arm around him, her tail twisted around one of his legs, and her muzzle on his chest. She sniffed a lot; there was something about his scent that she found comforting. Eliseo didn't mind, it actually felt pretty good. And before he could think on this anymore he was lulled to sleep by her peaceful breathing.
