Pokemon - To Catch Them All - Route 12, 13 and 14
#9 of Pokemon - To Catch Them All
Leo makes his way through Routes 12, 13 and 14, having new encounters along the way
I left the Celadon Gym, my new Rainbow Badge in hand and returned to the Pokemon centre to heal my Venusaur, Golbat and Charmeleon all who had battled hard winning me my badge. Once I got to the centre I handed my team to Nurse Joy and she began healing them and while she did this I contacted my mother. "Mum its me Leo" I greeted her and mum was happy to hear from me. "Leo, how have you been, since your calling me, I presume your in Celadon City, have you already won your gym badge?" I nodded, "yes, not too long ago, I'm planning on making my way to Fuchsia City next." Mother however remembered something, "oh before you plan on leaving Celadon. Have you been in the department store there? I hear they sell all sorts of useful items for trainers, potions, evolution stones and more. If you haven't been I highly suggest visiting and seeing what you can buy there!" It sounded like a very good idea and so we said our goodbyes and I made my way to the department store.
When I found the department store, I probably should have expected it too be a large building perhaps the largest building in the city. Boy did I not expect it too be so enormous, many floors as well. Upon entering I saw many people exploring the department, studying the different stalls to see what was on offer. The second floor had the generic items trainers needed, basically what could be found in any Pokemart. I did take the opportunity to buy some more healing items and Pokeballs as well for the journey ahead, no doubt there were more Pokemon to catch before I reach the next gym. The next floor wasn't off any interest to me at all so I continued upwards.
This floor was very important to me, the clerk sold all sorts of evolutionary stones and since I had some Pokemon who evolved through needing a stone I wanted to buy those for the future. I already had several Moon Stones thanks to Nidorino enough to evolve him, Nidorina and Clefairy. I bought one more to evolve my Jigglypuff into Wigglytuff as well. I bought three Fire Stones as well, one for Growlithe another for Vulpix and for when I caught an Eevee that would then evolve into a Flareon. I also bought four Water Stones, all for the future though as none of my current Pokemon evolved using a Water Stone. Those would be Eevee into a Vaporeon, Poliwhirl into a Poliwrath, Shellder into a Closyter and finally Staryu into Starmie. I bought three Thunder Stones, one would be for my current Pikachu to evolve into Raichu. However a second would be for another Pikachu which I would one day evolve into Raichu over in the Alola region. The final Thunder Stone would be used on an Eevee to evolve it into a Jolteon.
I bought three Leaf Stones to evolve one of my Gloom's into a Vileplume, my Weepinbell into a Victreebel and finally an Exeggcute into a Exeggutor whenever I managed to catch one. I did buy one Sun Stone to evolve my other Gloom into a Bellossom as well. That was a busy purchase but I bought all the evolutionary stones I needed for the current time. When I eventually reached other regions I would buy other evolutionary stones to evolve the respective Pokemon that I catch there. I continued up the stairs to see if there was anything else that would be of use to me. On this floor there were accessories available if trainers or Pokemon wanted to wear them as they travelled around. Perhaps they would be good if they were competing in contests but I wasn't so they weren't of any practical use to me. Heading upstairs once more, I reached the roof, where you could relax and breathe some fresh air after going on a shopping spree like I had done. For a while I did just that, resting my aching feet from exploring the entire department store but it had been a brilliant idea. I must remember when I next contact my mother to thank her extensively if she had not mentioned the department store having essential items then I may have never even gone here.
Eventually I had rested enough and headed down to the entrance and exited the department store, with my evolutionary stones in hand I released several of my Pokemon which could evolve to see what they wanted to do. "Come out Nidorina and Nidorino!" The two Pokemon appeared and looked up at me curiously. "I know it's been a while, but I've been shopping in the department store and wondered how you felt about one day evolving into your next form?" The two Pokemon seemed to ponder and speak with one another, if only I could understand what they were saying that would be a blessing. The two Pokemon eventually turned back to me and before I could even ask what they had agreed upon. The two Pokemon grabbed the Moon Stones and began evolving.
Nidorina, evolved first into Nidoqueen, "Nidoqueen has been registered to your Pokedex. Nidoqueen the Drill Pokemon a Poison Ground Type. It pacifies offspring by placing them in the gaps between spines on its back. The spines will never secrete poison whenever the young are present." Nidoqueen roared as soon as she evolved and seemed to be getting used to her new body. My attention was turned away when Nidoking appeared. "Nidoking has been registered to your Pokedex. Nidoking the Drill Pokemon a Poison and Ground Type. Nidoking prides itself on its strength. Its forceful and spirited in battle, making full use of its thick tail and diamond - crushing horn." I hadn't expected the two Pokemon to be so happy at evolving when they leaned down to my level and both gave me a crushing hug, probably not yet realising their increased physical strength but eventually they released me and I returned them to their Pokeballs.
Next up I sent out Clefairy who when he saw the Moon Stone in my hand, eagerly took it without me even speaking. Turns out Clefairy seeing the Moon Stone had sparked some primal desire to evolve. "Clefable has been registered to your Pokedex. Clefable the Fairy Pokemon a Fairy Type. Their ears are sensitive enough to hear a pin drop from over a mile away, so they're usually found in quiet places." I guess that made sense, Clefable could be found where I caught Clefairy, but they must have been either extremely rare or deeper inside the network of caves where people and Pokemon rarely visited and so it was quiet enough for them to live peacefully.
The next two I sent out were Growlithe and Vulpix and when presented with the choice to evolve, both didn't mind evolving, staying as they were now was alright, but evolving would help them protect their trainer whom raised them with such love and care. As such both mutually decided evolving would be best, I watched as Vulpix evolved into a Ninetales and was enamoured with his beauty. "Ninetales has been registered to your Pokedex. Ninetales the Fox Pokemon a Fire Type. Very smart and very vengeful. Grabbing one of its many tails could result in a 1,000 year curse." I'd heard the legends of that curse where if you touched a Ninetales tail, even by accident Ninetales would curse you for your actions. My musing was turned away when I felt a nose brush against my face. It surprised and tickled me, laughing I tried to push away the forceful and happy Arcanine. "Arcanine has been registered to your Pokedex. Arcanine the Legendary Pokemon a Fire Type. A Pokemon that has been long since admired for its beauty. It runs agilely as if on wings." Eventually I managed to get Ninetales and Arcanine to stop giving me such affection and returned them to their Pokeballs.
Not forgetting Jigglypuff I sent him out to see how he felt about evolving but he also didn't seem to mind, thanking me for bothering to ask. Jigglypuff took the Moon Stone and began evolving. "Wigglytuff has been registered to your Pokedex. Wigglytuff the Balloon Pokemon a Normal and Fairy Type. It's proud of its fur, which is fine and delicate. In particular the curl on its forehead has a texture that's perfectly heavenly." Wigglytuff soon allowed me to touch that curl and I couldn't put into words just how heavenly the feeling was. Wigglytuff definitely seemed proud of getting me to feel so heavenly.
The next Pokemon I had that could evolve was Pikachu who needed a Thunder Stone. When Pikachu was given the opportunity he knew that I wanted to complete the Pokedex, but also knew that I wanted to respect his wishes. As such, Pikachu decided there was no real harm on evolving, as his trainer would still love him the same. "Raichu has been registered to your Pokedex. Raichu the Mouse Pokemon a Electric Type. If its electric pouches run empty, it raises its tail to gather electricity from the atmosphere." I leaned down and petted Raichu, whose most prominent feature now was his much larger tail. Raichu still looked just as cute, if not cuter than his pre evolved form as well.
I bought out my two Gloom and Weepinbell and placed two Leaf Stones down and one Sun Stone down. The two Gloom communicated about which one wanted to evolve and it was ultimately decided that the first Gloom I caught would be the one to evolve into a Vileplume and my second chose to become a Bellossom. "Vileplume has been registered to your Pokedex. Vileplume the Flower Pokemon a Grass and Poison Type. It has the worlds largest petals. With every step, the petals shake out heavy clouds of toxic pollen." Then my attention was turned to Bellossom. "Bellossom has been registered to your Pokedex. Bellossom the Flower Pokemon a Grass Type. Bellossom gather at times and appear to dance. They say that the dance is a ritual to summon the sun. Finally as if feeling slightly forgotten Weepinbell began evolving into Victreebel. "Victreebel has been registered to your Pokedex. Victreebel the Flycatcher Pokemon a Grass and Poison Type. Lures prey with the sweet aroma of honey. Swallowed whole, the prey is dissolved in a day, bones and all."
At those evolutions I was once again swarmed by the new evolutions as Bellossom danced happily, Vileplume didn't dance but attempted to get as close as possible. Victreebel almost tried to swallow me in an affectionate hug, but obviously didn't even intend on swallowing me. That was almost disastrous even though I knew my Pokemon would never even dream of harming me. With all those new evolutions, I decided to see how many Pokemon I had currently registered to my Pokedex and was excited to see that I had registered a total of 80.
I felt impressed with myself at catching so many Pokemon and then evolving them as well, after that was all done, I headed on the road once again and returned to Lavender Town. When I arrived, I remembered the whole ghost inside the Tower. I didn't know what it was completely, but the locals had mentioned briefly of a Mr Fuji who had entered the tower in order to calm a ghost of a Pokemon that he claimed needed help passing on. However, he still hadn't returned and the locals were concerned for his safety. Since I wanted to understand the tower and the apparent ghost I headed up the tower and found the ghost once again. However, this time a man, who I could only presume was Mr Fuji seemed to be in communication with the ghost. It seems as though, in the apparent time Mr Fuji had been in the tower, he had been attempting to calm this ghost down. When I approached, he seemed to have finished whatever he was doing and turned to face me.
"Oh hello there young man, I'm Mr Fuji. I must say, it's nice of you to come here and pay your respects to the Pokemon that have fallen. I'm certain that they all accept your kindness. Speaking off you see this ghost behind me?" He turned to face the ghost. "That ghost is actually the ghost of a Marowak that was once captured by Team Rocket and has been enraged. However, I've managed to help calm down the Marowak and seeing trainers such as yourself treating Pokemon with such care and dedication seems to have helped this Marowak understand that not all people are bad." At that the ghost disappeared in a cloud of light and Mr Fuji smiled.
"Mr Fuji, the locals were concerned that something had happened to you, you've been gone a long time." I said and Mr Fuji seemed surprised, "oh my, I completely lost track of time. I was so dedicated and enraptured with helping that Marowak that I forgot about everything else." Mr Fuji smiled once more, "I thank you once again young man, please follow me to my home, I have something I'd like to give you. Think of it as my payment to you for helping me." Even though I hadn't really done anything I followed Mr Fuji out of the tower and to his home. The people around seemed happy and relieved that Mr Fuji was alright and thanked me profusely.
Once we entered his home, Mr Fuji sat down on a chair and grabbed a flute of some kind. "Here you are young man, this here is the Poke Flute, use this whenever you come across a sleeping Pokemon blocking your way and they'll spring awake." I thanked Mr Fuji, knowing that this flute would come in handy as in several locations I had heard of Snorlax's blocking the way, one south of my current location and one in Celadon City. At that I headed south down Route 12 and came across some trainers who wanted to have battles against me.
The first trainer was a Fisherman who sent out a Staryu and I sent out my newly evolved Raichu, whose powered up Thunderbolt defeated Staryu with a single hit. A second hiker followed up with a Poliwhirl but this time I sent out my Vileplume, whose Petal Dance powered through and defeated Poliwhirl. I was beginning to see that evolving my Pokemon was definitely the right thing to do. A third Fisherman challenged me with firstly a Magikarp which I defeated with Victreebel whose Power Whip did massive damage. The second Pokemon sent out was a Seaking and I substituted instead for my Bellossom, whose Petal Dance like Vileplume's defeated Seaking. The final Pokemon sent out was a Poliwag. I decided to substitute and send out Parasect, who used Mega Drain and powered through the Poliwag.
Continuing onwards I was challenged by another Fisherman who sent out a Gyarados and I sent out my Raichu's whose Thunderbolt knocked out Gyarados, since it was super effective. The second Pokemon sent out was a Magikarp, who was similarly defeated by another Thunderbolt. The next trainer was an ace trainer who sent out a Lickitung, against Lickitung I chose to send out Charmeleon, who used Fire Fang and ended the battle before it could be drawn out, like Erika had done. However, after claiming the win, Charmeleon began glowing, signalling his evolution. "Charizard has been registered to your Pokedex. Charizard the Flame Pokemon, a Fire and Flying Type. Its wings can carry this Pokemon close to an altitude of 4,600 feet. It blows out fire at very high temperatures." I was very happy that Charizard had evolved and saw in him an extreme fiery passion that loved battling. The second Pokemon sent out was an Onix and against a newly evolved Charizard that wouldn't end well, even if I knew Charizard was extremely powerful.
Still, I believed it would be safer and so substituted my Charizard and instead sent out Wartortle, who I assumed was also close to evolving, he just hadn't had many battles compared to the other starters. Wartortle's Water Pulse wrapped the battle up nicely and he was rewarded by also evolving as well. "Blastoise has been registered to your Pokedex. Blastoise the Shellfish Pokemon a Water Type. The rocket cannons on its shell fire jets of water capable of punching holes through thick steel." At evolving Blastoise and Charizard both fist bumped each other grinning confidently. They then turned their attention back to me, the one who had helped them achieve their evolutions and as such they grabbed me in a hug and refused to release me at least until they had thanked me extensively which eventually they did.
After that battle, I headed south and soon came across the road block that stopped me previously, it was the Snorlax sleeping soundly blissfully unaware of anything going on around it. Grabbing the Poke Flute Mr Fuji had given me, I begun to play the flute. Even though I had never before played a flute or any musical instrument, it seemed as though the flute was quite easy to play, by no means was I an expert though. However the flute seemed to work and the Snorlax's eyes sprung open before it slowly stood up and looked down at me the trainer who had awoken it. Snorlax seemed to want a battle, before it went back to sleep in the exact same place, which I wasn't allowing. "Come on out Machoke!" Machoke appeared looking at the giant staring him down. Machoke turned to me looking confident and by no means nervous.
"Machoke, use Karate Chop!" Machoke struck the Snorlax with a Karate Chop, while the Snorlax merely yawned, the attack did damage, but the Yawn seemed to make Machoke drowsy. "Machoke slow it down, use Low Sweep!" Since Machoke was struggling to stay awake, his Low Sweep wasn't as powerful nor was it as effective, but Snorlax, using his immense bulk, used a Body Slam and pinned the Machoke beneath him. Since Machoke was asleep, he was blissfuly unaware of what was even happening. "Return for now Machoke" I grabbed Primeape's Pokeball next, "I need your help Primeape!" Primeape appeared punching repeatedly staring up at the behemoth which hadn't technically defeated Machoke, but had tactically put him to sleep.
I did have a plan, Primeape had the ability Vital Spirit which meant he couldn't be put to sleep and so when Snorlax used Yawn, Primeape looked unfazed, "now Primeape use Low Kick!" When the attack hit, Snorlax collapsed to the ground, the damage it had previously taken against Machoke and now the powerful Low Kick which dealt more damage depending on how much a Pokemon weighed meant Snorlax was exhausted. Taking the opportunity I threw a Pokeball and watched as it shook once, twice, three times before the capture was complete.
"Snorlax has been registered to your Pokedex. Snorlax the Sleeping Pokemon a Normal Type. This Pokemon's stomach is so strong, even eating mouldy or rotten food will not affect it." I released Snorlax and saw that he was already asleep and decided when next he awoke, we could see how much of a bond we could create together. Though something told me, I was going to have to increase the amount of food shopping I do, after all a Snorlax is never not hungry and they seemed to have a bottomless stomach compared to most other Pokemon and people too. Still I was happy to have yet another new friend on the team as well.
After that, I continued south and was challenged by another fisherman who sent out a Tentacool and I sent out my Mr Mime, whose Psybeam hit for super effective damage. As such, the fisherman returned his defeated Pokemon and instead sent out a Kingler and I substituted instead for my Raichu, whose Thunderbolt won me the battle.
Continuing south I came across a camper who challenged me to a battle, they sent out a Nidoran male and I sent out my Psyduck, who used Water Pulse to knock the Nidoran out in a single hit. The second Pokemon sent out was a Nidorino, who put up slightly more of a fight, by Psyduck still managed to win with a super effective Aqua Tail. As a result of his win, Psyduck began glowing as he still had his head in his hands confused. When the glow faded it revealed I now had a Golduck. "Golduck has been registered to your Pokedex. Golduck the Duck Pokemon a Water Type. This Pokemon lives in gently flowing rivers. It paddles through the water with its long limbs, putting its graceful swimming skills on display." Golduck grinned at me confidence exuding through him and it seemed as though he didn't suffer from chronic headaches anymore thank goodness. I was so relieved and happy for him and he seemed just as happy if not more than me.
A rocker then challenged me with an Electabuzz, a Electric Type I hadn't yet come across but I knew it's weaknesses well enough and so I sent out my Dugtrio, whose Bulldoze knocked out Electabuzz with a single super effective hit. A coach trainer then challenged me with firstly a Butterfree and I sent out my Arcanine, who use Flamethrower and defeated Butterfree quickly. The second Pokemon sent out was a Clefable and so I instead substituted my Arcanine for Nidoking, whose Poison Jab was super effective showing off far more power than when he was a Nidorino.
Heading south, I ran into a patch of grass next to the ocean, the area seemed rather isolated, but I did see the occasional Pokemon running around, what interested me the most was seeing a rare Pokemon, Farfetcht'd. Since I hadn't yet caught one I decided to go and battle it. "Come on out Butterfree!" Butterfree may have been at a type advantage but I was confident he was the best choice for weakening the Farfetch'd. "Butterfree use Sleep Powder!" Butterfree gently blew a powder over to the Farfetch'd who looked confused at the sudden powder before it's eyes closed and it slumped down to the ground blissfully asleep. "Butterfree Psybeam!" Psybeam scored a direct hit on the sleeping Farfetch'd and so I threw a Pokeball and watched as it shook, once, twice, three times before the capture was confirmed.
"Farfetch'd has been registered to your Pokedex. Farfetch'd the Wild Duck Pokemon a Normal and Flying Type. It can't live without the stalk it holds. That's why it defends the stalk from attackers with its life." I released Ducklett and grabbed an awakening from my bag as well as a potion and sprayed both items on the sleeping Pokemon. Farfetch'd slowly awoke confused before realising he had been captured and seemed rather okay with his capture. He wasn't disappointed or angry he had been captured, but rather seemed to think that having a trainer would help him grow stronger than he already was. Before leaving the area of grass I caught Farfetch'd me and Farfetch'd did some training together, to create a strong bond with one another. We were already becoming quite the powerful team, though he still had some catching up to do with everyone else.
Heading onwards, I reached Route 13 and was challenged by a camper who sent out a Sandshrew and I sent out my Blastoise, for his first battle in his new form. Blastoise had a easy time, using a powerful Water Pulse to defeat the Sandshrew. The second Pokemon sent out was a Sandslash which was defeated much in the same way as its predecessor. A second camper was next and challenged me with a Jigglypuff and I sent out my Nidoqueen who used Sludge Bomb and knocked out Jigglypuff. The next Pokemon sent out was a Weepinbell and I sent out my Charizard for his first battle in his final form. A single Flamethrower was powerful enough to knock out Weepinbell.
The next opponent was a beauty who sent out a Chansey and I used my Machoke, whose Low Sweep knocked Chansey out. The next trainer was a ace trainer who first sent out a Graveler. I chose my Golduck, who used a powered up Water Pulse to knock Graveler out. The next Pokemon sent out was a Magneton and I sent out Ninetales whose Flamethrower defeated Magneton. The final Pokemon sent out was a Haunter, who was also defeated by Ninetales Extrasensory.
I was then challenged to a battle by a bug catcher, who first sent out a Scyther, a Bug and Flying Type, which looked awesome, I couldn't wait to catch one and then have a Scizor. Remembering I was in a battle I sent out my Onix, who used Rock Tomb and defeated Scyther. The second Pokemon sent out was a Pinsir, another awesome Bug Pokemon, this bug catcher had good taste. Onix continued on and used another Rock Tomb defeating Pinsir. Then a beauty challenged me with an Eevee and I sent out Primeape and had him use Karate Chop and knock Eevee out. The second Pokemon sent out was a Persian and I continued battling with my Primeape and another Karate Chop was enough to win the battle.
The next opponent was a bird keeper, who sent out Doduo and I sent out Graveler, who used Rock Tomb to wrap the battle up. The second Pokemon sent out was a Pidgeotto and Graveler used Rock Tomb again and won the battle. The next trainer was a camper who sent out a Growlithe and I chose my Gyarados to battle. Gyarados used a super effective Aqua Tail which knocked Growlithe out. The next Pokemon chosen was a Nidorino and I substituted for Hypno. Hypno used Psychic and it was super effective against Nidorino.
A camper then challenged me with a Raticate, but Machoke ended that battle with a Karate Chop. The next opponent was a Golduck and I substituted for my Bellossom who used Giga Drain and defeated Golduck. The final opponent before I reached the next route was a punk who sent out a Golbat and I sent out my Mr. Mime who used Psybeam and knocked Golbat out. At that I continued on the road and eventually reached Route 14 and was almost immediately challenged by a camper who sent out a Psyduck, who went down to Vileplume's Giga Drain. The next opponent was a Dugtrio and I continued battling with Vileplume using another Giga Drain to defeat Dugtrio.
The next camper sent out a Flareon, the Fire Type evolved form of Eevee, I sent out Golduck who used Aqua Tail while avoiding Flareon's Take Down, winning the battle. The next trainer was a bird keeper who sent out Pidgeotto, while I decided to send out Kangaskhan if only because she hadn't had much battling yet. Kangaskhan showed extreme strength and knocked Pidgeotto out with a rapid Double Hit. Fearow was up next and I continued the same strategy having Kangaskhan use another Double Hit knocking Fearow out. A second bird keeper challenged me with another Fearow and I sent out Raichu who used Thunderbolt knocking Fearow out. The second Pokemon sent out was a Pidgeot which I was interested at battling. Pidgeot still couldn't withstand Thunderbolt making me wonder if it was caught early.
The next trainer was an ace trainer who sent out a Vaporeon, I sent out my Raichu once more and had him use Thunderbolt knocking Vaporeon out. The second Pokemon sent out was a Dodrio and I substituted for Onix who used Rock Tomb and defeated Dodrio. The final Pokemon sent out was a Sandslash and I substituted for my Blastoise who used Water Pulse knocking Sandslash out. Heading upwards I was challenged my a punk who sent out a Raticate but Machoke handled the battle with a Karate Chop. The second Pokemon sent out was another Raticate who was defeated the same way.
The next punk guy challenged me with a Rhyhorn and I used my Venusaur and had him use Seed Bomb which knocked out Rhyhorn. The next punk sent out a Magmar and I sent out my Sandslash and had him use Bulldoze to knock Magmar out. Another punk then challenged me with a Weezing a Poison Type and I sent out my Kadabra and had him use a powerful Psychic to knock Weezing out. At the very end of the punks a roughneck challenged me with a Machoke and I sent out my Pidgeotto and with a few well placed Wing Attacks Machoke was beaten. Luckily Machoke didn't have any Rock Type moves they would have hurt.
As a result of winning Pidgeotto had started to evolve, "Pidgeot has been registered to your Pokedex. Pidgeot the Bird Pokemon a Normal and Flying Type. By flapping its wings with all its might, Pidgeot can make a gust of wind capable of bending tall tress." Pidgeot was ecstatic about reaching his final evolved form and wrapped he in his wings happily hugging me as best as he could as a bird Pokemon. Still I congratulated him nonetheless and we continued on our way through the route.
At the end of these punks and the roughneck there was a patch of grass that had some interesting new Pokemon, my Rotom Phone informed me that living around here were Tauros a Normal Type, Scyther a Bug and Flying Type and Pinsir a Bug Type. These were all some very impressive Pokemon that I would like to catch. Exploring through the grass at first all I found was Venonat and the occasional Venomoth. But I knew that these Pokemon were likely rare and didn't come out often. Patience was key, when it came to searching for the rare Pokemon.
My patience was eventually rewarded when after dealing with a persistent Venomoth, a Tauros almost charged directly into me. Luckily, Primeape was quick to react and blocked Tauros and like that the battle had begun. "Primeape use Low Kick!" Primeape darted between Tauros and landed a powerful heavy kick against Tauros. However, Tauros didn't take the move lying down and countered, by raising his hooves and using a powerful Stomp to inflict big damage. Primeape seemed fine however and I continued on, "Primeape finish it up with Karate Chop!" Tauros again showed impressive determination and countered again with an equally powerful Take Down, even pushing Primeape back. Primeape wasn't one to back down though and pushed back eventually forcing Tauros into the ground. At that Primeape gestured for me to throw a Pokeball and I did.
I watched as the Pokeball shook, once, twice, three times before the capture was confirmed. "Tauros has been registered to your Pokedex. Tauros the Wild Bull Pokemon a Normal Type. The Tauros of the Galar region are volatile in nature, and they won't allow people to ride on their backs." This Tauros seemed way different, as a wild Pokemon he eagerly challenged me to a battle to see my capabilities as a trainer and see how powerful my Pokemon were. Upon being defeated by Primeape Tauros was impressed and was eager to train with me.
While training with Tauros, I was also searching thoroughly for Scyther and Pinsir and several minutes later, I managed to find a Pinsir, scuttling around the Grass. I was planning on battling with Charizard to weaken Pinsir. However, Tauros wanted to show his new trainer, just how powerful he was and so battled the Pinsir himself. "Tauros use Take Down!" Take Down was a powerful move but it had its drawbacks. When dealing damage, Take Down would also damage the user slightly as well. However, Tauros seemed unfazed by the damage he would take.
Speaking of Pinsir though, upon being struck by a powerful Take Down, he turned and glared at the Tauros and charged forward using X-Scissor. "Tauros are you alright?" I asked concerned as that Pinsir looked like a powerful opponent, but Tauros shook his head before dragging his hooves showing he was more than battle ready. Pinsir again charged with another X-Scissor. "Counter that with Take Down once more!" Both Pokemon collided and pushed against the other trying to overpower the other. They seemed evenly matched until Tauros dug in his heel and pushed forward with renewed strength and bashed right into Pinsir.
Pinsir collapsed down to the ground, I took a chance and threw a Pokeball, it shook once, twice but then broke open, Pinsir smirked at me, he wasn't going to be caught easily that's for sure. "Tauros use Zen Headbutt instead!" Tauros' head glowed blue before exuding power as he charged once more to Pinsir, who again countered with a Double Hit a good Normal Type move. Again the Pokemon met halfway, but this time the exhausted Pinsir couldn't stand against the power of Tauros and was knocked to the ground once more.
Once more, I threw a Pokeball and watched as it shook once, twice, three times before the capture was confirmed. "Pinsir has been registered to your Pokedex. Pinsir the Stag Beetle Pokemon a Bug Type. It grips prey with its pincers until the prey is torn apart. What it can't tear it tosses far away." I released Pinsir and gave him a Potion to heal him up from the battle and gave Tauros one as well. The two Pokemon seemed to size one another up with upon doing some research made sense. Both Tauros and Pinsir were judged on the size of their horns. It seemed as though they were seeing who had the best horns. It seemed they came to a mutual understanding and got a long well with each other.
When they had finished conversing with one another, I returned them to their Pokeballs so they could get some rest and began searching for a Scyther. Upon doing some research, I began searching the nearby trees, to see if any Scyther's had slashed the trees as a way of showing they owned territory. It didn't take long and I saw some very impressive gauges in the tree and began following them. Little did I know the Scyther was aware of my presence and had been for quite some time. This Scyther had been closely observing me and my Pokemon, watching the battle I had when catching Tauros and Pinsir and had been wondering if I was a good enough trainer to wield his power. Scyther seemed to have made his judgment and jumped down the tree landing right in front of the surprised trainer.
I recognised that the Scyther was challenging me and I grabbed one of my newer Pokemon, Farfetch'd had hadn't much battling, so this would be a good way to see if our bond was just as strong as with any of my other Pokemon. Scyther started out by sending an Air Slash to Farfetch'd, "Farfetch'd use Agility and dodge them!" Farfetch'd easily dodged the Air Slash before making his way behind Scyther, using his speed effectively. Scyther wasn't so easily fooled and turned around using Slash to try and score a direct hit. "Farfetch'd counter that with Air Slash!" With his increased speed, Farfetch'd unleashed a super effective Air Slash, quicker than Scyther could dodge or block and as such. Scyther was struck repeatedly by Air Slash weakening him dramatically.
Scyther slumped to the ground weakened by the super effective move, while Farfecth'd awaited me to throw a Pokeball. Eventually I threw a Pokeball and watched as it shook, once, twice, three times before the capture was confirmed. "Scyther has been registered to your Pokedex. Scyther the Mantis Pokemon a Bug and Flying Type. It is nearly impossible to parry its attacking scythes. Its movements are like a ninjas." I then released Scyther and sprayed him with a potion and congratulated him on such a good fight as did Farfetch'd. Scyther knew he had picked a powerful trainer to work with and couldn't be happier.
