Twenty-six: Calendars

Wolford chuckled in amusement as he looked to the lion in his lime green speedos that was looking petrified. Wolford had been quite sure that Delgato would have been a little more eager in this moment, he was not normally shy but lately... lately it was clear to see how he and Priti were getting along and Wolford was amused. "Some reason you're worried about Priti's opinion..."

"What? Wait... no..." Delgato grumbled, sounding more like a spoilt child before pouting and giving that embarrassed look of a guy that was starting to feel something for another. It made Wolford give a soft snort of amusement as he stretched his paw out to pat at Delgato's shoulder with a happy smile before sticking out his tongue and then giving his backside a clap to make him jump in shock.

"You look fantastic... show off what you've got and you might be surprised by the result!" Wolford chuckled as Delgato blushed, but standing nearby, Higgins was giving a sudden heavy grunt and clearing his throat very loudly. Wolford and Delgato both turned to look at him as he gave a curious shake of his head and Wolford lifted his head, his ears dropping as he gave a groan of frustration before then giving a sigh as Delgato gave a grimace. Clearly, Higgins had thought that Wolford was acting a little 'gay' in doing what he'd just done and yet if it had been any of the other members of the squad, that would not have been the case. He was quiet on the matter though, even if Delgato gave a groan.

"I can't believe Hopps and Wilde both outed you at that dinner, I mean... yeah some of us knew but... it was a bit dumb right... these older boys don't really do well with trying to understand anything like that..." Delgato growled in irritation, but Wolford was not too worried by it, he knew how to deal with it all and nothing was going to stop him from just being himself. But quickly, the girl were beckoned away, the area cleared and the next scene set up before the two of them were beckoned over for make-up to make sure their fur and faces were showing the right expression. They'd been told that this was to ensure that wen the photo was taken the light would appear as sunlight and the image would be slightly warped to give a bit more distance as Wolford was put to the front with Delgato standing behind, looking as if he were talking to civilians about some crimes going on around them.

"I'm pretty sure the lifeguards are supposed to do this stuff, you don't generally see the police on a beach unless there's a..." Delgato was about to state a body, but he was quickly shushed down by the others who were about to take the pictures. Steadily, the photographs were taken and Wolford had to try not to blush as he was told certain poses to try and felt even more embarrassed when they finally asked him to turn about and face Delgato. With that over, everyone stepped together and they went out for a drink, calmly enjoying a meal and discussing which pictures they thought were going to get in the calendar. It was quiet enough that Nick was curious about how much he could ask and talk about, but Wolford had to admit that he was quite scared of Nick and Finnick saying anything about his previous behaviour. He'd had two inappropriate incidents with Finnick that could easily get him not only to lose his job but to get his ass in jail! Nick didn't think of anything like that and instead just looked at Wolford curiously before then opening his mouth with a gentle whisper.

"So... is Xander like... the one do you think? I mean... I know you and Finn were F-Buddies... but like, you're not going to play the field anymore?" Nick questioned, though Wolford tilted his head to the side in confusion. He'd never actually thought of himself as a player of having fuck buddies but damn, thinking back wasn't that what every relationship he'd ever had turned into? It was damn embarrassing and certainly he'd been a real easy guy at the club... he was regretful of his actions but, what could he do? It took time and experience to learn when you found the right partner and when you were being played yourself.

"I really was bad wasn't I?" Wolford grunted, almost wanting to tell his backside off for being so damn horny, but Nick gave him an oddly sympathetic expression. Perhaps there was a little understanding between them that meant he was not going to be laughed at or commented on. Its getting to be less of a 'think' statement these days. But there are things I still worry about you know..."

"What about Sandy and Finnick? You going to let them stay and have him move in with you?" Nick questioned, but Wolford certainly had not thought that far. He was not sure what he was going to figure out with that because it would all depend on Xander. In fact, a lot was resting on how far Xander was really comfortable considering his work... a fox on daytime television was hard enough to accomplish but, a gay one too? It might be a bit much for animals, but he was certainly willing to accept whatever Xander was willing to do and it certainly didn't mean he'd kick Sandy out.

"I wouldn't kick them out, you know that... Xander's situation means it might never be possible for us to share the same household...." Wolford stated, but Nick was looking at him curiously for a moment, almost as if he was looking at him to test him. Was it because Nick was testing him out, questioning his resolve and maybe finding out if he was going to give up on Finnick.

"How'd you feel about them getting married?" Nick questioned, but Wolford didn't skip a beat, why should he when he had given up on the Fennec that had never even accepted their situation.

"I'd be very happy for them."

Nick was a lot more talkative with Wolford these days and he came to visit the household with Judith quite a lot. Some might question their relationship, but not Wolford and lately everyone was building up for the calendar. They were all waiting to know which of the pictures would be chosen and Wolford was terrified about it when he and Xander were lounging with one another in Xander's household and he was explaining what he'd have to do as Xander had burst into laughter!

"You're joking? Half-way through they told you turn around and then wouldn't stop talking about my babe's toosh?" "I'm bringing it out... I will say that there will be hot and cold so you might hurt your teeth if I don't mix this right." Xander stated anxiously, stepping over to Wolford's side and then gently laying down a plate. He was grinning in delight, not sure what Wolford was going to think of him for doing this when it might seem a total tease. He'd made fresh doughnuts, but had made bread earlier to cover the smell and then he'd added some home-made vanilla ice cream onto it when it was hot enough to melt slightly. He also then put (dog-safe) chocolate sauce onto the ice cream, some hazelnut and fudge pieces and then brought it over... it was a Brown Derby, something he'd always enjoyed himself as a kid and had been hoping to see what Wolford would think of it. "Now... open wide..."

With a grin, Xander then used a spoon to chop a section of the ring doughnut, and scooped up the ice cream, the sauce and some of the pieces and brought it to Wolford's mouth. Gently, Wolford closed his mouth slowly over the spoon and immediately he gave a whimper at the taste of chocolate, only for Xander to quickly reassure him that it was dog-friendly and so he relaxed as he closed his mouth calmly. Then, he pulled the cold ice cream in before feeling that hot, soft doughnut practically melting in with it as his ears drooped back and he gave a whimper of pure delight as he chewed, swallowed and then gave a soft gasp of pleasure. Xander took off the blindfold and then sat back to show off the dessert.

"It's a Brown Derby... I had a feeling you'd probably never had dog-friendly chocolate before and... you may say it's a stereotype but I do know how much you love your doughnuts. The calendar worried you so, you needed something as comforting as a kiss from me..." Xander grinned, blushing slightly and looking as incredibly cute as Wolford placed the spoon down and then wrapped his arms around Xander. He pulled him to his chest, kissing him lovingly as the pair of them chuckled together before Xander settled down beside him and patted Wolford's thigh. "Eat up... I feel bad I've got an early start tomorrow and you've got work tonight..."

"Don't feel bad, just sitting with you is refreshing enough for me." Wolford chuckled softly, wrapping his arms around Xander as the pair cuddled together for a moment. They nuzzled together, kissing a little more before relaxing back to share their dessert, giggling and slowly feeding each other the doughnut together. They were beaming in delight, kissing between to share the taste and snort when a few crushed nuts were stuck to their lips. It made them both snort in amusement before they finished up eating in delight before then lounging back onto the sofa again.

Xander clambered up onto Wolford's lap, sitting comfortably onto him and stretching his arms out, wrapping them around Wolford's neck. They kissed one another lovingly, Wolford's arms wrapping behind Xander to keep him comfortable upon his lap.
