New Beginnings (Male POV)
#1 of New Beginnings (Male POV)
Male point of view for this story, 3 chapters so far might do a 4th if I get around to it.
Luke had just finished moving into town; it was a small, quiet town but he liked that. Luke was in his early 20s, and moved to the town for work. He had brown hair that lightened to an almost blond in the sun, and striking blue-green eyes. There was a solid week and a half left before he started his new job, and he spent it mostly indoors finishing unpacking, but partially on getting his bearings around town. His small house that he rented was in the down town area and there was a good selection of small cafes and shops to visit. It was just starting to warm up for spring, small chunks of snow still littered the walk ways, but were pushed aside and starting to melt with the changing of the seasons. Luke was walking down to the local pet store considering getting a cat or dog to keep him company. He was taking a short cut through an alleyway, when he heard a strange sound... The leathery snap of a bat's wings flapping as he looked up just in time to narrowly avoid this large bat from hitting him in the head as it descended. He looked to where it landed, crumbled into a heap in a large pile of snow on the ground. It looked dazed, its eyes looking at him but not really appearing to see him. It was a large bat with a body the size of a cat, and wings that easily spanned an entire meter and a half. Its fur ranged from a vibrant orange around the neck to a dark brown most everywhere else. It had amber eyes that seemed to make direct eye contact with Luke's. Luke might have been new to the states, but he knew he would have heard something if this was a common occurrence here. Surely someone would have told him: "Watch out for the giant bats" if it was an issue. That wasn't something one glossed over so easily. He knelt down, inspecting the creature for damage. At least it seemed like it would not be getting up and flying at him any time soon. Miraculously the thin bones in its arms did not seem to be all that damaged. He saw a little blood on its side, and a cut across its chest. The cut almost looked like it had been cauterized at the edges, burnt and irritated. He wondered what cruel person decided to use some kind of heated metal blade on the creature. He looked down at the medium carrier he held with him, it was all ready for the new cat or dog he would be picking out... but something about the way this creature's eyes looked at him... Surely it would die if he did not take it in from the cold. He cautiously reached a gloved hand towards the creature. He had thick leather gloves and was at least a little re-assured that if it tried to bite him it would be unable to get through the thick material to his skin. But the creature did not fight, it almost looked like it understood he was trying to help. He carefully lifted it, and it folded its wings against itself, covering the wound. It was mostly limp weight in his hands as he placed it onto the cushion in the bottom of the carrier. He would just leave it in there and call animal control when they were open tomorrow.
Luke arrived back at home, without a new pet but perhaps with a life saved... assuming the creature lived through the night. He could hear a soft whining coming from the carrier, and he looked in. The creature was limp and motionless inside. He considered opening the cage to try and clean the thing's wound.. but he also worried it would fly around his house and break things or worse hurt itself more.
"Hey there.." he tried in a soothing voice, trying to calm the creature down and let it know that he was there so it wouldn't be startled. He saw its eyes open, bleary and unfocussed on a point in the distance, looking through him again.
"I'm going to try and get you cleaned up, ok?" he felt silly talking to an animal, but he knew it was more the tone of voice then what he actually said that would matter to it. He put back on the thick leather gloves, and carefully unlatched the carrier door. Immediately the creature seemed to become more alert, though as he reached in it did not snap at him, allowing itself to be picked up. It tentatively stretched its wing out of the way to allow him to see, the outstretched wing shaking with pain as the creature moved. He could see something shiny in the wound.. Whoever had stabbed this bat had broken off the tip of the blade inside it. "I'm going to need to pull this out, ok? It will probably hurt a lot but we can't have you healing with sharp bits inside.."
He reached for it with tweezers, finding purchase and pulling. There was a slight sizzling sound as the blade pulled away from the wound, previously raw places it bumped into gained that same cauterized burned look that the edges of the wound had. Luke looked at the blade curiously, confused as to how it would still be hot. He put his hand near it... nothing. He touched it through the glove and looked at the glove, none of it was charred or burnt. He pulled the glove off, tentatively touched it with a fingertip. It was just a normal bit of metal blade, cool to the touch. He saw some sort of symbol carved into one face of it. He dropped it into a plastic bag, not eager to touch it any more after that. He turned his attention back to the large bat, its breathing now more even and steady. He could swear it looked thankful. He took some hydrogen peroxide, and though the creature squeaked at the pain of the wound being cleaned it did not fight him. It did not act like a normal animal.. maybe it was just so defeated and weak at this point that it could not. He placed it back on the pad in the carrier and latched the door. It was starting to get dark at this point, Luke could see the moonless night sky through the windows as he closed the blinds for the night. He rinsed the bat's blood off of the blade, and went over to his computer. He was curious about the symbol carved into the side of the blade.
He got distracted reading a few articles trying to find what language it was for, before eventually determining it was an old biblical symbol for "holy". Then after that point all he could find was boring bible verses that happened to use this symbol in them. At this point it was quite late and so he went to sleep. It was a restless night, Luke had a nightmare about being hunted..
Luke was standing in an alley way, backed into a corner against a thug with a knife. The man wore silver face mask, smooth and metallic with eye holes. His outfit was similarly heavily studded with metal strategically to offer protection. The knife practically glowed with the light of a nearby street light, as it flashed through the air making jabs at him. A blinding pain in his side as he was suddenly flying up and away from the man in the alley. The blade must have been poisoned, he could feel the throbbing burning heat through his side as his blood pushed the toxins through his body until his muscles locked and he fell.
Luke woke suddenly, when in the dream his crumpled body hit the ground, sitting straight up in a cold sweat.
He laid there for a good half hour trying to fall back asleep, eventually deciding to get up and check on his guest. As he made his way into the living room where he left the carrier. He flipped on the light, seeing some movement inside the cage. He swore he had seen the bat's long wing finger poking through the grate at the front of the cage fiddling with the lock. He walked over, looking inside, the bat sitting there looking up at him with its large eyes. He got his gloves on again, it had been almost half a day since he had looked at the bat. He tentatively undid the lock, opening the gate.
"I'm just going to make sure it looks ok, and you can go back to sleep Mr. Bat."
He pulled the bat out of the cage, again it did not struggle though it definitely seemed capable of it now. Its eyes looked brighter, clearer and it looked around the room curiously. Luke tried to nudge the bat's wing out of the way, but the bat refused to unfurl its wing on its own. "Come on, let me see please.."
With enough persistence the bat did move its wing, and what Luke found did not make sense... where a large open gash was before, now was a half healed closed gash. It was still an angry red color, but it no longer oozed, or was open. It had been only about 12 hours since he last saw it. There was no way it was already this far healed. Perhaps he just imaged that the wound was that bad. Luke carried the bat over to the window. "Sorry.. I guess it is Mrs. Bat. Should I just let you go? But you surely don't live here, do you?" Luke decided to check with animal control tomorrow, perhaps a nearby zoo reported a bat missing, as this one seemed entirely too tame to be wild.
When he went to go put the bat in the carrier, he swore it squeaked sadly when he locked the door into place. "It'll be ok, you don't have to stay there long. We'll get you home in the morning, ok?" The bats ears stood up like it was listening to his words.
Luke finally managed to fall back asleep when he was awoken by a large thud. He got up from bed, grabbing the heavy, long handled flashlight he kept by his bed that doubled as both light and a weapon in a pinch. His first thought was that the bat had knocked its carrier off of the table. He crept down the stairs, looking around for a possible intruder flashlight raised defensively. Scattered across the floor was the two halves of the carrier, as if something had broken its way out from inside. Lying on the ground was the form of a woman, looking very startled eyes darting around the room. She was not wearing any clothes. She looked around, and looked down as if noticing this fact for the first time, before she grabbed a blanket off the nearby couch and pulled it around herself. Not before Luke managed to notice the long scar on her side. She looked around in a panic, eyes settling on the window and she ran for it, wrenching it open as the cold near winter air hit her in the face. "Wait... are you ok?" Luke sat the flashlight down on his way over, almost feeling bad for brandishing it.
"I will be ok.." Her voice was slightly rusty with lack of use, or maybe sickness. She slid the window back down into place, stopping the cold air from bursting into the small room. She looked especially pale, legs unsteady and shivering, whether from fear or the cold Luke wasn't sure.
"You should sit down.. you don't look well. Where did you.. uh.. come from?-" Luke asked hesitantly. He wanted answers but he didn't want to frighten her either, she didn't seem like a robber but what was she doing in his home? And why was she naked?
Her eyes darted to the carrier, and again Luke thought about where the bat was... until nagging thoughts started creeping into his mind. Impossible thoughts. Luke turned on the overhead light, leading the woman to the couch. In the light he could finally see, her eyes were the same dark brown with a slight orange tint to them that the bat had. Her hair was a dark brown, the tips of which faded into a light reddish orange color. "-And what are you?"
She looked at the floor, avoiding eye contact. "Please... Promise you won't tell anyone..." her voice sounded on the verge of tears. "If they find where I am... Well, I'm not exactly in fighting shape right now; they'd kill me."
"Who will kill you?" Luke probed, still just wanting answers.
"The Coven. They hunt the supernatural. They don't like the idea that there are things out there that cannot be explained." Her voice dropped to a whisper like she wasn't sure who might be able to overhear.
"Are you... supernatural?" he was pretty sure he knew the answer... but at the same time needed to know for sure. This sounded crazy, it had to be crazy. People didn't turn into bats, people didn't appear in the house with no signs of a break in.
"I'm a.. lycanthrope.. but I won't bite, Promise." She was now wringing her hands nervously, as if waiting to be cast out into the cold for what she admitted. Or worse.
Suddenly Luke also needed to sit down. A lycanthrope... the supernatural... existed?
She must have seen the shell shocked look on his face, as if the world he lived in was suddenly no longer what he thought it was. "There's not many of us left. Most of us were hunted down and killed. The world is actually decently safe, if you're not one." She added wryly.
"Well, you can lay low here for a while. You can call me Luke by the way." There was an awkwardly long pause before she got the cue to also give her name.
"Oh.. Just Kat is fine." She pulled the blanket around herself tighter, before the movement caused her to wince. "Sorry... it still hurts. I'm just going to lay down a moment..." Luke got up from the couch allowing her room. It was a small two cushion love seat, ill-suited for lying down entirely.
"Here, you use my bed, I'll take the couch." Luke insisted, seeing her attempting to curl up on the couch.
"I couldn't possibly... kick you out of your bed, that's just not fair.." She looked exhausted and Luke wasn't having an injured person be uncomfortable.
"You're not kicking me out, I'm wanting you to please use the bed. I don't sleep much anyway..." he admitted, the last statement more of a mutter. Before Kat could object, Luke took her hand, leading her to his room. He dug around in the drawers and fished out a T-shirt and some boxers that would be comfy enough to sleep in. She took the clothes, and then looked at Luke expectantly. When he didn't get the hint she blushed. "Um... could you turn around please?"
Luke also blushed realizing in his lack of sleep he was being rather forward. He turned around for her sitting on the far edge of the bed, as he saw the blanket get cast onto the bed next to him, as she put on the clothes. "You can look again."
She had her shirt half pulled up on the left side, examining the wound, but otherwise covered with enough clothes to preserve her modesty. "Thank you by the way... Silver really messes with my abilities. Can't really heal or shape change fluidly with it in my blood stream. I should be good tomorrow, I can stop bothering you.." Luke looked up from her exposed side just enough to see Kat's eyes had been lingering on something and she shifted them up to look at his face instead, blushing slightly.
Luke cleared his throat a little. "It's no problem really. You were hurt and I couldn't leave you to die there.."
"I still feel bad about stealing your bed.. Why don't you stay?" Kat moved to lay on half of the queen sized bed, crawling in under the covers. "Besides.. won't be as cold."
Luke hesitated for only a half-minute before he shrugged and slid into bed as well. He wasn't really the least bit tired.. but he didn't really have much else to do either. The blankets were nice and warm, and very quickly he could hear Kat's breathing slow down and become even as she fell asleep. Luke realized she had probably been looking at what he now realized must have been a pretty obvious erection he could feel tenting the thin fabric of his boxers. Eventually the comfort of another breathing being beside him was able to guide him back to sleep.
He dreamed of flying through the forest, the wind in his fur. The snap of his leathery wings as he flapped them. He lofted on a branch, swinging to hang upside down by strong clawed feet. A sound an echo could be heard through the forest. Really without trying he could see.. no hear it.. a deer barking for a mate in the distance. It's cries painted the clearing around it, colorless but with distinct outlines of the forest around it. It was a strange sensation. Knowing something was there but not truly seeing. He was curious about the ability, and without thinking emitted a high pitched squeak. Data came back about where he was, and it was as if he had a map of the whole clearing. He dropped off the branch, easily extending wings that were each over a meter long. He was much larger than he expected, as tall as his human self with wings that spanned wider than he was tall. He dove down through the forest, flying out over the little town as well. He saw himself, his human self, walking away from town with hiking gear towards the woods. The strange feeling of it jarred him somehow. Was that him? Or was this him?
He woke up, groggy at first and slightly confused. What a strange dream.
Beside him Kat was also stirring and for a moment he had to remind himself that that part was at least not a dream. There was a real woman lying next to him in bed. Kat got up, stretching, and excused herself to the bathroom. Luke opting to stay under the blankets a little longer, praying that the morning wood would be gone before she got back. Eventually it did go down and he ventured out to get ready for the day as well. He poured them some cereal for breakfast.
"Sorry it's not much... So... can I ask some questions?" He watched as Kat ravenously ate the cereal like she had not eaten in days. Maybe she hadn't.
"Hmm? Oh sure."
"Do you like... go crazy every full moon? How does that work?" Luke wondered aloud.
"It's like.. whatever urges living beings have... the ones you suppress on a daily basis are magnified. You might be really restless and want to go run, or be hungry and go kill a deer if you were a carnivore lycanthrope, or like play fight with another if there are two of you. You really want to satisfy the urges, but you're not completely mindless either. Mostly like base animalistic needs. Eating, running free, uh... nevermind." She was blushing heavily at this point, staring down at the empty bowl.
"Uh nevermind - what?" Luke persisted. He just wanted to confirm his suspicious.. or maybe he just liked hearing her voice, he wasn't sure.
"Uh... Well.. base animal urges.. eating, sleeping, m- uh.." She looked unable to finish the thought out loud.
"Oh.." Luke looked deep in thought for just a moment, and then continued with another question. "Can you transform whenever you want?"
"Yeah, gimme a minute here and I'll show you." She again lifted the shirt to check on the wound, this time instead of the angry red freshly sealed gash it was merely a scar, and a fading one at that. "I think I should feel well enough. Just don't... stare I guess, I dunno." She looked around checking the room's windows which still had the blinds drawn, and when she felt secure about not being seen through them, she stood up. She started peeling off the garments Luke had given her, stripping right in front of him. He wanted to look away to respect her boundaries, but also stare at the magic that was surely about to happen. "I assume you don't want me violently shredding these due to physical change.. so here." She tossed the shirt and boxers into his waiting arms. She moved her arms to cover her chest. "I've never really.. transformed in front of a human on purpose.. unless it was to fight for my life.. you'll have to excuse me being a little nervous." She again looked around the room, seemingly to avoid eye contact rather than to scope out danger. It was gradual at first, fur started growing on every surface, she leaned forward as her back popped, from things re-aligning themselves internally. Fingers grew longer, webbing stretching between them to form a bat's wings. Rows of sharp teeth grew in, fangs sticking out of the corners of her mouth like a vampire before her mouth changed shape entirely to accommodate them. Her face became fox like, with large pointed ears that grew up from being on the side of her head until they were more towards the top. Her eyes cute and puppy like. Her limbs were perhaps the most drastic change as leg bones changed length and proportion. Instead of being flat footed like a human, the creature stood on the balls of her feet, ankles suspended in the air, almost appearing to be extra joint. Instead of the small dog sized creature she was the day before, this thing was fully as big as a human with a wing span double that size, if she were to extend them they would likely fill the whole small room. It was mostly a hybrid of human and bat, standing almost fully upright but mostly shaped like a bat. It did have somewhat the shape of breasts, but a lot less so than that of a human, mostly a thickly furred orange mane that covered them. Thick fur covered pretty much everything to the point where she no longer needed clothes to remain covered. She had a small tail connected to the wings via a membrane.
Luke should be afraid.. logically this creature should frighten him.. Its jaws parted to show canine like sharp teeth. The claws on the feet could easily do some serious damage. But at the same time, he felt like he trusted her to not hurt him. "Why were you so small yesterday?"
"The strength of my form wanes and waxes with the moon's cycle. Silver also weakens it. We can turn into a mundane animal... that's what you saw yesterday; a hybrid form... that's this one; and uh.. well the full moon form is actually kinda scary. You would probably not want to see it.."
Luke had to admit he was curious, but decided to let the statement go. "Thanks for trusting me enough to show me. It really sucks people hunt you just for existing. Maybe you can hide out here for a week or so."
The day passed pretty quickly as the two talked and got to know each other. Kat spent most the day in human form, and cooked lunch for Luke as thanks for saving her, and they played some video games as well as watched a movie. It was almost like a date. Night fell, the crescent moon was just starting to peak out from some clouds and neither of them really wanted to go to bed so they settled into talking in the living room.
"So, those people chasing you... were they from this town?" Luke asked, trying to find out how careful they would have to be going outside.
"No it was a few towns over.. I flew for a good amount of time to get here, but I was worried they chased me. I think I lost them though. And they usually only try and attack on a new moon when we're weakest. It should be fairly safe."
"Tomorrow night, if you feel up to it, want to go for a walk?" Luke inquired, hand resting on Kat's.
"We can. In fact if we want to leave town a little we can go for a fly."
Luke had not really considered that it would be possible. To carry something about the same size as you in the air would take a lot of strength. Perhaps it was normal for lycans to be particularly strong. He was lost in thought enough that he did not notice Kat moved her hand from his to rest it on his thigh. He looked down, all at once realizing two things. For one thing he was actually kinda turned on by the touch.. and for two Kat had noticed. A blush again graced his face, as Kat leaned in and gave him a kiss. To her surprise he leaned into the kiss, returning it with vigor. Luke felt a curious hand rubbing along his side, down to his thighs, until it found what it was looking for and rubbed against the front of Luke's pants feeling the growing presence. The two had to break away for air.
"I guess I wasn't misreading the direction we were heading then, huh?" Kat asked satisfied at what she had found.
"No it's fine.. better than fine I suppose." Luke's face still a little blushed as he recovered.
"I do have one question I suppose. Do I become like you from just kissing? Not that it's so bad or I'd mind it I guess.." Luke a little nervous with the feelings and rush of endorphins. It felt good, even as his erection strained against its confines with growing arousal, the teasing kiss leaving him wanting more.
"It takes a bite, mostly saliva entering your bloodstream. But it is also possible to be changed by.. going all the way with someone.. in that way." It was Kat's turn to look a little embarrassed at having to explain that out loud.
"I mean.. I guess we can worry about that at a later time. We can still have fun in other ways.. If you would like to, I mean." Luke waited, almost holding his breath for the reply.
Kat stood up, pulling Luke by the hand and leading him off towards Luke's room. She took the hand that she held, and with her other she pushed the loaned shorts past her hips. Luke allowed her to place his hand against the warm mound between her legs. He could feel a warm slickness starting there.
"Does that answer your question?" She asked, eyeing him mischievously. She pushed the shorts down until she could kick them off.
Luke sat on the edge of the bed, Kat traveling with him, his hand still pressed up against her as she lay on her back on the bed next to him. Luke's other hand pulled at the shirt, removing it and tossing it to the side so his hand could travel over her nude body tracing circles around each nipple as he felt them. Breasts soft, but nipples pert and reactant to his touch. He bent over resuming the kiss. Now his fingers that rested on her groin cautiously pressed into the warm folds, feeling the small bundle of nerves as he felt Kat gasp into their kiss, her back arching against the bed. His hand brushed past it, allowing first a single finger to push in. Luke could feel her hands exploring now as well, clinging on to his back, finger nails almost a little too sharp against his skin, pulling him closer, running down to where his waistband was, pulling down his boxers to reveal his shaft which instantly sprung to attention, grateful to be free of its cloth prison. He too let the boxers slide down and off at her touch. Her hands gently cupped each orb that rested beneath, feeling them in her palms. Before tracing up to where his member stood at attention. She rubbed a hand over it, unsure exactly what to do. Perhaps a little too gentle and teasing. Luke grinded against the hand, encouragingly, and she got message, matching the movement using her hand against his stiff flesh. Luke broke away from the kiss, both of them panting. He used his thumb to brush against that sensitive button again, eliciting a moan from the woman beneath him, as his efforts were rewarded with a slight fluttering of movement grasping against his invading digit. It felt like her body almost trying to pull his hand deeper. He pushed a second finger in, allowing the slickness to lubricate his fingers as they got deeper access. Her hand ran a finger across the smooth rounded tip of his head, collecting a little of the gathered pre and using it as lubrication for the rhythmic motion of her hand against his erection. She could feel his very pulse against her fingers, a slight excited twitch as he responded to her hand. He pulled his hand out of her, his fingers glistened with wetness. Luke repositioned himself lying over Kat so they could both access each other fully. Kat couldn't help but notice Luke dip a curious finger into his mouth for a second, one wet with her fluids making her blush knowing what he was doing. He spread between her legs with his fingers before curiously giving it a lick, moving to push his tongue into her; using his hand to occasionally circle around and brush against the bundle of nerves at the entry to the space inside. The feeling of it made her squirm. In return she licked at the shaft in front of her that was presented. Allowing it to enter her mouth. Only being able to take about half the length into her mouth without running out of space. He heard her emit a frustrated breath through her nose before he felt things shifting. Suddenly the smooth body Luke was lying against grew furred, the arms once again reforming into those large wings and wrapping around both of them, drawing him closer. The newly formed longer bat snout making it easy to take Luke's entire length into her mouth without trouble, and the nose buried itself into the base of his crotch. Luke's flesh right up against the dangerous sharp teeth of a predator... and yet the danger strangely made it more exciting. She could hurt him sure, but why would she? He felt the hot breath against him in small puffs as she panted. The long tongue and inside of her maw massaging him as she bobbed her head up and down on his entire shaft. The long tongue enough to sneak past her lips and tickle the very base of it. The sensitive glands firmly wedged into the tightest back part of her mouth, any time she swallowed the warm tight feeling of her throat closing around it drove Luke crazy. He could put up with it no longer, finally reaching a peak, his light erratic thrusts against her mouth becoming small twitches. She eagerly lapped up her prize as she felt the body above her shudder with release. His body wracked with pleasure as spurt after spurt of thick cream jetted onto her tongue. Hearing his cute little moans sent her over the edge as well. Her own release causing the inner folds to ripple, squeezing rhythmically against the invading tongue. She allowed the slowly shrinking member to fall out of her snout with a wet splop sound, now once again exposed to the cool air of the room. That same long tongue licking off the last shot that managed to land against the outside of her muzzle. "Sorry.. I should have probably asked first.. I just couldn't reach as much as I wanted.." The lady's lycan form already starting to shrink back down and return to human.
"S'fine.." Luke stumbling over his words a little as he lay there basking in the afterglow, feeling content and tired.
After a while they shuffled around to lay in the bed normally, pulling the covers over their nude forms.
"You know.. maybe I would like going all the way.. if you're open to it." Luke said, looking at Kat in the dim light that filtered in from outside street lights. He could see even in the soft glow when the light of a passing car caught her eyes they glowed like an animal's at night: reflective, wild.
"You realize there's certain lines you cross that can't be uncrossed. You'd be a lycanthrope forever. You might be hunted." She cautioned.
"And I'm not complaining, as long as it's with you."
Their bodies against one another they fell asleep. For once Luke actually slept through the entire night, excited for what tomorrow could bring but content resting in Kat's embrace.
