chapter six. the after math
As she sat in the bottom of the shower letting the warm water wash over her she could hear her brother yelling into his phone. "DAMN IT! Stupid lazy cops..." she head him yell.
"Trigger!" she shouted from the shower.
"Yea?" he replied softly.
"I-I need a towel I forgot one..." she said in all most a whisper.
He knocked on the bathroom door softly.
"is the curtain closed?" he asked he never did like the idea of seeing his sister naked.
"Yea come on in" she said pulling the curtain to the side peering from behind it.
"here you go" he said tossing her a fresh towel.
"Now turn around or leave your pick unless you feel like brushing this mess" she said shaking her head.
"I'll help you" he said closing his eyes so she could get out.
She wrapped the towel around her and sighed softly.
"Why where you screaming at the phone?" she asked softly.
"no one can be out to this area for a while... something about a murder" he said sighing.
"they're just pigging out on beignets..." she said sighing "they don't care."
"well I need to buy you a new phone?" he asked as her brushed her fur down.
"Yes..." she said sighing.
"Fine once I find the cash I will I promise" he nuzzled her shoulder and walked out the bathroom so she could get dressed alone.
After she slipped on her clothes she slid in to the living room to find her brother in the kitchen cleaning.
"Let me help you" she said walking in the kitchen.
"No go rest... please" he said picking up shards of glass.
"I-I don't want to..." she said kneeling down helping no matter what he said.
After they finished they locked all the doors and windows and he slept next to her again holding her making sure nothing would touch her again for the night as long as he held her.
"Trigger..?" she asked softly falling in to a deep sleep.
"Yes..." he replied.
"Don't every leave me again..." she mumbled letting herself fade into blackness.
As she awoke the next morning she felt her brother next to her snoring softly.
"Trigger..." she tried to shake him awake.
"Ye-yea..." he asked still half asleep.
"You have to wake up" she said nuzzling his side.
"Why...?" he asked shaking his head.
"I'm hungry and I don't want to kick you out of my way" she said laughing.
"oh ok" he said falling on the floor and curling up to sleep more.
As she walked into the kitchen to find some food she glanced a the trash can where she could see shards of her clothes. She turned her head hiding tears as she opened the fridge in hopes of finding something to eat.
