An ingenious ceramist by the name of Kit is given a magical, tricksy gift as a result of his kindness to an odd traveler by the name of Teru.

Slapping a ball of wet, fine red clay onto the wheel, I pull the lever nearby that sets it to spinning. Using the tips of my fingers, I coax it into the shape of a vessel, adding small details and embellishments with claws as I go. Wearing a loose sleeveless shirt and short pants, both originally brown garments and now stained more rusty in appearance, I stand 180 centimeters tall with a coat of silvery grey fur that darkens to black along my limbs.

Two perked, angled ears grow on either side of my head along with generous tufts of fluff along the sides of my face, framing my blue eyes and short vulpine, whiskered muzzle. I have an overall thin build with long fingers and digitigrade legs ending in small paws, a fluffy tail growing from my rump. Fur grows longer along my neck and torso, giving my shirt an overall puffed out appearance. This sort of coloring is common in my family.

Not that it's ever done me any favors; the opposite, actually. The room I work in is also my shop, built on a raised riverbank and in an L shape to leave room for my pottery wheel on one side of the room with two thirds of the building dedicated to displaying my wares. The torque for spinning clay is provided by a water wheel, built entirely myself from wood I chopped and treated to be water resistant. The beaded curtain over the doorway rattles as a customer steps inside onto the hardware floor.

"No need to remove your shoes; the floor is already dusty. One moment, please," I say, twirling the clay higher. "I'm just finishing up a piece."

With short steps, a small man about two heads shorter than me peaks around the corner. Lithe in appearance with rugged travel clothes, a small, overstuffed backpack, and a wide, domed straw hat woven to withstand the sun's heat, he is doglike in appearance with hazel eyes and lovely brown fur that reminds me of the color of heartwood.

"Ah. I figured you were a new face," I remark, pulling the lever as I put the finishing touches on the jug.

"Oh? How so?" He asks.

"Your gate was faster and lighter than many in the village."

"Ah, observant! I am Teru."

"Call me Kit," I reply, giving each other a quick bow. "Looking for pottery Teru, or just popping in?"

"It looks like you create a great deal more than just pottery."

Among my pots, jugs, plates, and other earthenware, I also have stone and wooden merchandise as well.

"Variety is a spice of life," I shrug. "I need to do other things, or I go mad. Hence the embellishments and decorations I put into each piece, even should it be put in a shed and forgotten."

"Heh, I can appreciate the sentiment. I am looking for another teacup. Preferably, one that will not break when I clumsily drop it."

"I have an unorthodox one you might appreciate, in that case."

Walking over to a shelf, I pull off a small cup that appears to be wooden at first, but has a clay insert the wood is bonded to with bone glue. I hand it to him so he might inspect it, Teru turning it over in his hands and looking at it from separate angles like it is a foreign object.

"Did you make pottery for nobility, by chance?"

"Absolutely not. I'd rather live poor than be beholden to them. One moment they're content to rule a breadbasket, the next their son is waging battles to conquer a nearby province."

He lets out a hearty chuckle. "I suppose that's why you live near the mountains then. Better to be in a close-knit community free of the laws of lords, even if it means the spirits and oni pay a visit from time to time."

"True words. I speak more from experience. One man got it in his head I was a kitsune and threatened to kill me if I didn't share my 'magical secrets'."

"Ah, but you clearly have some," He says, gesturing widely at my work.

I give him a small knowing smile, snapping my fingers to create a tiny blue flame that sputters before winking out. "Perhaps just a few, yes. That cup is ten shards."

"Oh," He sighs, fiddling in a belt purse before pulling out eight shards. "Perhaps I can offer an additional trinket?"

Cast from a dull, coppery green metal, shards have a distinct, hard to counterfeit angular shape and scrollwork from their molds.

"Did I say ten shards? Huh. I must be getting older than I thought. I mean four. Apologies."

He smiles and nods gratefully, handing me four shards and pocketing the rest. "You're very kind."

"I prefer it to go to someone who will use it more. And you still have enough coin to eat tonight."

"Oh, food is no issue! I forage enough to eat, quite often. In fact, I have some flower petals that make a nice tea replacement if you would like to try them."

"It was about time for lunch anyways. Sure."

I close the door to my shop on the way out and lead him to my home nearby. It is built in a similar, sturdy fashion that clashes somewhat with the architecture of the rest of the village. Some of the older women used to gossip about it, but they eventually dropped it after I haven't had to patch a leak or replace a beam after four seasonal monsoons. I never really expected visitors, so the best I can do is seat him at my tiny kitchen table. He seems unperturbed and prepares the flowers in my teapot as I boil some rice with a bit of dried kelp to salt it.

Sitting down to a small meal, I note the tea has a pleasant, nectar flavor as we converse about the weather and the outlook it brings for both of our lives. Afterwards, he asks about strange happenstances I've seen living here.

"Hmm. To be honest, I make the humble offerings I can at regular and not much of any bad luck has been blown my way. Though, there might be a yaoguai haunting my water wheel now that I think about it."

"Why do you think that?"

"A stunted demon or something of a similar nature burst from the undergrowth one day while I was gathering water from the river. I smashed it over the head with my jug before kicking it into the wheel. The ikushi eels were in season and handled the rest once they smelled blood. Thinking about it, it may have been a kappa... I didn't get a good look, to be honest."

"And that did not strike you as strange?"

"Much is far from the definition of normal here. I occasionally exchange gifts with the water nymphs of the river, speak with the guardian spirits of the abandoned temples of the mountain on every solstice, and once even saw a storm dragon fly overhead. To be honest, I was speaking with the assumption you were somewhat a local, if not familiar with this land. Is that not the case?"

"No, no I am not," He laughs in good humor. "But now I want to be! Sadly, I must continue onwards: I have a friend I must visit past the mountain."

"Careful of the oni, in that case. They leave us be since we're not worth the trouble to pillage, but their bored children are always harassing the roadside. If the road is even in a travel worthy state this time of year, that is."

"That is why nature graced me with two fast legs," He snickers. "I am confident I will be fine but thank you for the warning."

"And thank you for the tea."

Conversing a little longer, we soon clean our dishes, and he takes his leave. Returning to my shop, I stoke the small kiln out back and set the jug to fire for the day. I spend the rest of the daytime inking talisman in preparation for the solstice in two weeks. The water nymphs brought me a lost pouch of golden coins the other day, so I hope the guardians will appreciate them as offerings they might have seen in their brighter past.

I certainly can't spend them without getting jailed, so the pouch is useless to me. A peasant with gold is already suspicious, and the sack bears the archaic seal of a tax collector which makes it all the more criminal in places the gold is worth something. I suspect a few of the villagers here would be willing to take their chances anyways and slay me for the coin, so it's best I remove it entirely. If the spirits don't want it, I am going to toss it to one of the great birds of the mountain for fate to reacquire.

As night comes, I silence the kiln's flame and set the jug to cool on a hard sheet of clay. Returning in the morning, I am surprised to find the engravings are gleaming in the morning sun. Holding it up to the light, it shines, appearing to be made of burnished copper now. Very, very strange. I had my suspicions Teru was more than he seemed, though I cannot be sure another spirit might not be at play. Taking a deep breath, I hold it against my brow and focus in a practiced, meditative state.

I discern a magic about it for certain, but it's not malevolent. In fact, I'm not sure what else to gauge it by; its feeling is not just foreign but somehow erotic as well. And oddly enough, I can still feel clay instead of cold metal: the appearance has been changed with magic, but there is definitely at least a secondary use to it. I put it aside, determined to study it later. I spend the rest of the day returning to work on my stone pot I began before yesterday. Painstakingly chiseling out chunks from the granite rock, I speed up the process with a trick shown to me by Kusottare during one of his whimsical moods that allows the chisel to almost slice through the stone.

Unfortunately, I am not sure how to reapply it to smoothing the granite so it is still a laborious process to grind down a nice finish. Metal is difficult to find out here and few peddlers dare brave a journey into our lawless land, making stonework that can still boil and cook as well as any metal pot quite a necessary item. Some settlements had had luck collecting ore to smith with, but by then they became a worthwhile target for the oni and did not last long.

I make the lid wide brimmed for lifting off the pot as an alternate method to creating handles. Handles made from stone don't hold up to time, I find. By late afternoon I am satisfied with my creation and take the strange, enchanted jug back to my home covered in a cloth just in case. Back inside away from prying eyes, I look the jug over first, finding an engraving along the bottom that I had not made. It is doubly strange, made with old kanji.

I wish to match generosity with generosity. I have no doubt your wit will prove worthy and earn this pleasure, and so I leave you with a clue.

Fiery saké lit by moonlight

Hazed with the pained exertions of art

Patience brings forth a glow

Quaff quick from filled jug lip

And warm even the loneliest night

Right then. This is somewhat cryptic and has a sort of rushed kabuki feel to it, but it reads like instructions and piques my curiosity. Fiery sake_I assume means the strong stuff, which is good, because that's all this village has to make up for the terrible taste. _Exertions of art... what comes to mind is frustration, sometimes self-loathing, and the occasional mistake that results in cuts and scrapes. It must refer to blood, unless it's either tears or perhaps sweat, but the latter two are not very fit to be described as hazing something when mixed in. Patience clearly means just let the mixture sit, and quaff quick from filled jug lip to drink the entire filled vessel all at once. Warm even the loneliest night probably refers to the effects of the drink itself, rather than an additional instruction.

Straightforward enough: fill the jug to the brim with strong sake, leave it in moonlight, drip in enough blood to haze the alcohol, and wait for the mixture to glow. I have an entire wooden barrel of crude sake that's been aging for a while, so filling the small jug won't be a problem. I pass the time until night by continuing to paint my talisman. Many are discarded in this process. The brush strokes must have purpose, a drive behind them as the creator breathes power and intention into them. So much as a slight lapse in concentration greatly weakens their effectivity because I am attempting to imbue them with my own passion and will.

This type of talisman is mostly only good for warding off true spirits, and weak ones at that, but there is far more chaff than golden grain in this land, so it is worth the trouble to safeguard my journey to the mountain. Would that I had better materials, but they'd likely be a waste on someone of my skill level anyhow. After dinner, the moon is fully risen, and I open my kitchen window to prep the mixture. Cracking the barrel and awkwardly climbing the ladder with the jug filled, I top it off to the brim with a smaller cup.

Having boiled one of my stone knives for safety, I gently slice my right index fingertip. I'm not sure how much I need, so I let a sole drop of blood fall into the sake. The booze is already a bit murky, but upon contact with my blood, it instantly turns a deep, nearly opaque blue color. I take that as a good sign and squeeze out another drop. When that fails to have further effect, I let the tiny cut clot on its own and watch the sake for a little while.

Not seeing much of a change in a span of fifteen minutes, I think of a chore I can do and preemptively prepare my breakfast for tomorrow. I check the drink periodically, noticing a glow within the bottom of the jug. By the time I finish wrapping the prepared food in leaves to keep it fresh, the fluid glows bright enough to be used as a faint light source. With nothing else to do, I put the jug to my lips. I was unsure of chugging sake of this variety without getting sick, but I find the flavor is immensely improved.

It goes down easy as water, and having let myself get thirsty in preparation, I drain the vessel in moments and cover my mouth with the back of my hand as I give off a satisfied belch. As soon as I set the jug down, I'm hit by the alcohol all at once, nearly losing my balance as I'm suffused with a pleasant and fuzzy warmth. My muscles relax and turn to jelly. I half sit, half fall down onto my floor mat, leaning back on my hands as I stretch my legs out and enjoy the sudden, perfect buzz.

Soon, I realize there was more to the poetry as the warmth only gets more intense, a strange sensation going through my flesh as I realize body is shifting. For my own safety, I close the window and any other openings that allow prying eyes to see into my home. Changing from thin to heavyset, a large slab of fat forms on my belly as heat consolidates in my crotch, so sensitive it is overstimulating agony to keep my pants on any longer as I lock myself in my private quarters. I don't get a chance to take them off properly, my balls tearing through the fabric. I gasp as the heavy orbs bounce off the cold floor and I wrench the rest of the tenting fabric away. My cock flops out, hot, erect, very much bigger with my sudden growth, and equipped with a gigantic knot, but my testicles swelled in far greater size. They audibly slosh as I pick one of the great spheres up, barely able to hold it in both hands as it only continues to inflate until it's as thick as my waist

I let out a needy whine as pre shoots from my penis in a hot pulse that splatters across my bedroom floor. I catch the second pulse in my hands, afraid of making a mess but unable to stop it as the volume is so great it slides through my fingers. As soon as the first drop of this lube touches my dick, I grab it and begin masturbating furiously. Laying back on my bed, I massage my growing balls with my now wide, soft foot paws, wet slapping filling the room as I furiously pump my forearm sized length. It's not enough, not nearly, and I desperately bend myself forward.

It's a relief as I find my flexibility remained, stuffing the musky cock into my jaws. My balls are so heavy I can barely thrust into my mouth, leaning forward to cram the whole thing down to the hilt. The knot pops past my lips and lewdly bulges my throat outwards as I reach a head-rushing orgasm. Cum fires out of my dick like a cannon, forcing a loud gllhk! from of my throat as it surges back up. Trapped by my knot, it can only go out of my nose, sending thick ropes across my crotch and huge sack. The rest of the load goes straight into my belly, filling it with thick, hot seed that has a spicy, strangely floral taste. I don't have the mindset to question it as my urethra swells with a second pump, this time forcing the knot out of my jaws and spilling cum from my mouth in a small geyser.

It's clear at this point I've been transformed, hopefully temporarily, into a tanuki and have no control of the magic raging inside my loudly gurgling orbs as they pulse and heave heavily to desperately empty their contents. In this case, my belly is on the receiving end. I lose count after eleven of how many gigantic ropes are dumped inside me by my own breeding tool, my stomach visibly swelling with each one. Bulging outwards, it slowly forces the shaft out of my throat bit by bit as I desperately try to keep it inside the warm, wet hole that is my maw. I'm forced to chug my own semen as the glans pops out of my gullet and continues erupting inside my mouth.

Unable to contain all of it, it continuously spills across my face, body, and the entire room in general. All I can taste and smell is my dick and the strange seed as my balls begin to finally empty, just barely able to keep my tip past my lips as I drink down the last drop. Flopping back onto the pillow, I gasp in air, my gut swollen obscenely like I just drank two casks of rice wine and then ordered a third. Thinking it's over, I take a moment to relax, basking in a fittingly intense afterglow after nearly drowning myself.

I suddenly feel a weird sensation in my belly, a roiling as it begins to deflate and my balls tremble, filling again as an exchange is somehow made between the two.

"Ah, shiiiiiit," I groan in dismay before continuing to stroke my hardening rod in both hands as my body stalwartly demands I begin to rut again.

Barely able to sit up around my still heavily swollen belly, I shove aside my heavy sack and push my cock down and between my cheeks. Already heavily lubricated and practically drenching my tailhole in pre as I align the tip with it, I try to push it inside, desperate to have an alternative to my throat but quickly breaking down and needing to climax now. I desperately wish my dick had grown longer and moan, grinding against my bed in an attempt to somehow push it deeper.

My desire is like an order and my flesh complies. A deep, severe sigh is forced from my lungs as my penis rises in size, plunging into my hole and gaping it wide as I feel it smash into my prostate like a boulder in a landslide. There's no pain, only extra urgently needed stimulation as I roll my hips and bounce on my own dick, cramming it deep inside my ass as I feel my urethra fill with more seed. The gratifying heat of feeling a male cum inside me, regardless of it being myself, is beyond words as both testicles work overtime to force a massive swell of seed up my now enormous penis.

My belly slowly swells outward with just the first surge, only regrowing in size akin to the first time as torrents of warmth shoot up inside my willing hole. It leaks out in a veritable river, but not enough to stop it from being forced further inside me by the sheer volume, touching and drenching deeper and deeper within. I rub my tummy and purr as it audibly sloshes with the loads being pumped inside. I'm stuck in a pleasure loop, my dick forcing my prostate to work overtime as it's massaged and pressed against, in turn gushing that much more out of my dick. The cum only gets recycled and returns to my balls to be fired again, and I lose myself to the mind-melting pleasure.

After what seems like an eternity passes, my dick begins to go down in size and escapes the thoroughly bred clutches of my tailhole. Seed surges out before I clench to keep it inside, my mental faculty somewhat returning as my body begins to ever so slowly shift back. Except for my balls. Those still continue to fill from my overstuffed belly. They're already huge and having been able to use my gut as a second storage container, they now begin to heavily inflate as that flow between the two is cut off.

The pressure becomes all too much almost instantly, and my tanuki manhood begins to powerfully ejaculate in a constant stream. Finding the will to get up, I lumber out of the room and leave a stream of my essence behind as I make my way to the cellar. I just barely fit through the trap door and drop into it. I inevitably land on my balls and let out a yelp as a giant cumshot blasts against the wall as a result.

The pain quickly fades, and I have to throw my body weight forward to stand up, grabbing one of the empty rainwater barrels I keep for summer and holding my dick over the edge to empty inside it instead. I really don't want my home to begin to flood or I'll have so many uncomfortable questions to answer. I fill the barrel in minutes, going on to fill half of a second before the flow begins to even slow.

The bliss of cumming without end nearly causes me to blackout out at several points. When the second barrel fills, I'm still not finished and grab the nearest pot. By now my balls are only the size of my head and have enough left to fill a few more urns. With my crotch sore beyond measure, I collapse onto my knees and then fall onto my back, panting for breath as the last of my jizz spurts out across my chest and I pass out.

When I come to, I quickly rouse and sit up. The lantern I left lit in the cellar last night has gone out by now, and I'm glad for that because the room positively reeks of alcohol. It smells like good spirits, but spirits all the same. Picking myself up, I grasp my scrotum and let out a sigh of relief, finding it normal sized now along with the rest of my body. Climbing the ladder out and into daylight, I see the same strange oddity happened as well: it would appear my tanuki seed converted into alcohol.

In any case, it's far easier to clean than cum and I have enough spare cloth on hand to soak it up. My bedroom is drenched in the stuff, but the alcohol will dry up soon enough. Retrieving my lantern from the cellar, I light it away from the wet alcohol and then very carefully descend the ladder to avoid dropping it. At the bottom, I find several pots and two barrels full of the spirits.

Climbing back up, I find the jug returned to its previous state and turn it over in my hands, the inscription having been expanded. As I read it, I can hear the mischievous laughing of Teru in the back of my head.

You solved the puzzle, my friend, and made an absolute mess, I am sure! When I am finished with my business, I will return to your village. I would be happy to show you a few more tricks if you save some of that sake for me!

I set the jug down, pinching my nose and sighing in exasperation before breaking into a small, bubbly laugh. That was certainly an experience I'll carry the rest of my life. If he wants some sake saved, I'll seal both damn barrels for him to drink to his heart's content. Hopefully his promised tricks aren't going to be for more lewd shenanigans, but I doubt it. I unwrap my breakfast and eat it as I write down a list of supplies I'll need to barter for before I can make my journey.
