No Defense Against Conversion
For Lorvianne
By Draconicon
Corporal Lorkos and his squad had been patrolling the beach when the aliens attacked.
It was nothing more than a basic patrol, as none of the intelligence the base had passed down to the officers indicated that the aliens could push out through the sea or that they had water-capable craft. All previous attacks had been from the landward side, mostly from the plains that were large enough for them to deposit their attacking forces. Nobody expected a water invasion, and so, his patrol was no more than ten men.
“Orders, sir?” his sergeant asked.
“Firing line behind the dunes. Get the grenades out. Everything we have.”
They moved quickly, but the enemy had already left the waves by the time they were set up. The humans looked at the aliens in mixed fascination and awe, as none of them had seen them up close, only through blurred pictures with their briefings.
They were shiny things, creatures seemingly made of some sort of solidified ooze, and to a one they were different. Some were short, some tall, their height varying from four feet to some that topped ten. They ranged from being more slender than the thinnest of super-models, and thicker than four people in a line.
And they were inhuman. Completely, utterly inhuman, as if they had absorbed so many different features from different species and had never bothered to collect anything human. He shivered as he saw their gooey bodies solidifying as they stepped up the beach and called the order.
“Fire!”
Rifles cracked, ranging from three-round controlled bursts to full auto as the men emptied their magazines one after another. They ran down the line, reloaded, and then fired again. The bullets flew and splatted against the goo-bodies of the aliens, but to no effect.
Lorkos shook his head as the bullets were seemingly absorbed, pulled into the bodies and then dissipated like the ripples from the impact. With the ammo they’d already expended, they should have cut down at least a few, but none had fallen.
“Grenades!”
Pins fell as the little balls of explosive death flew through the air. They landed, bounced -
BOOM!
The explosions rocked the sand and water alike, sending mud and more through the air. He ducked to avoid anything landing on his side, but it was habit rather than need. A solid ten seconds of explosions followed, then silence.
After a moment’s hesitation, Lorkos lifted his head. There was nothing, nothing but black on the beach, and for a moment, he felt a hint of triumph.
Then the goo moved.
Lorkos and the rest of his squad watched in slow-growing terror as the ooze collected itself again, forming into legs, then hips, then torsos. In less time than it took to blow them apart, the enemy had reformed. All the explosive ordinance had been for nothing.
The aliens turned to face them, and three formed their arms into something else. Barrels that would have belonged on a tank for their sheer size lifted up and pointed in an arc in their general direction, and three other aliens began dissolving, flowing across the sand to the feet of the improvised turrets. Their liquid substance got sucked up, and Lorkos’s eyes went wide.
“Run. RUN!”
The order came a split-second too late. The cannon barrels opened fire, and three big thumps preceded the explosions of goo that landed right behind his line of men. He was far enough up the dunes that Lorkos didn’t get hit with the barrage, but as he turned around, he could see the effects.
One of his men had been seized by the boots, and was getting dragged back through the sand. Even as two of his squadmates tried to save him, the ooze pulled with impossible strength, dragging the rifleman back. As soon as his boots were completely encased, the ooze slid up his body, completely sealing him off in less than five seconds. He was completely encased, the black ooze skintight around him, and it pressed tight to him.
He could see his soldier screaming, but the sound couldn’t get through. He threw his head back, all but clawing at his face, but it was useless. Even as the black ooze started changing, stretching, altering in shape, there was no way to rip through it.
“RUN!”
He ordered it again, but three more thump sounds of more goo coming stopped them from doing that. A moat of the black stuff had formed around their position, leaving them with the choice of running through it or leaping over the dunes to attack the aliens directly.
Two of his men tried running. They were caught almost instantly, dragged out of their boots and sunk into the ooze. Even before it slid over their faces and stifled their screams, he could see them changing. Their hands and feet grew claws, and at the base of their spine, a tail started to take shape.
“It’s a goddamn conversion weapon,” his sergeant muttered. “They’re turning us into them.”
“Any suggestions?” Lorkos said, his voice quieter and calmer than he was.
“We get the hell out of here, sir.”
“Agreed.”
“So…how?”
“...Over the dunes and hope for the best.”
It was the only chance they had. The moat at their back would catch any soldier running through it, but if they could push through and get even a small hole in the ranks of the aliens, they could maybe get through that line. And if they could get through that line, then they had a chance to get back to base and tell them what was going on.
It was a small chance, but small was better than none.
The sergeant nodded at him, waving at three of the six survivors. They stood up and charged, and Lorkos saluted them. The others, he called to form up behind him. The minute they had an opening, they’d take it.
He watched two men go down instantly, the aliens falling on them and sealing them up. The sergeant left them behind, while the other man tried to save them. It didn’t work, and he fell in to join them.
As the sergeant brought his knife out, cutting through one of the gooey creatures, Lorkos saw it. A gap in the line had broken open. Now or never.
“Move!”
The corporal led his men forward. They broke through the gap in the line, and the goo creatures rushed to close it. Lorkos kept running, leaping, dodging, throwing himself forward as fast as his feet would carry him.
And then, he reached the end of his luck. One of the aliens fell just close enough to snare his ankle, and he went down, hitting the ground hard. Others flowed around him, sealing him to the ground, and they started wrapping around him.
“Run!” he shouted. “Over me before it’s too late!”
His riflemen, in cowardice or just obeying orders, did as he commanded. They leaped on his back, driving him deeper into the black ooze, and then they were gone.
And then he was gone.
The black ooze rippled over him, and everywhere it touched, it was like an acid that burned through his clothes. Boot, pants, jacket, underwear, everything was gone as soon as the ooze touched it. He groaned as he was rolled over, made to look upward as the ooze covered him from the neck down. He looked down at his crotch, seeing that it had even covered that, making his dick stand up and show itself off. The rest of his captured men were no better, and some were worse, as he saw that some of them were getting their dicks smothered, flattened out and curled inward. At least he was keeping his.
And yet, as he was tormented, wrapped up and trapped, he could feel…he could feel something else. Even as his fingers felt compressed, his head spinning from the sense of his fingers and toes getting longer, sharper, even as he felt something pulling at the base of his spine, he felt something else. He felt…
He felt pleasure.
It started like a dull vibration around his cock and between his cheeks as something pressed against him back there, but it was getting stronger. His jaw clenched as he felt that low-level stimulation getting stronger, more impossible to ignore, and his breath came faster as the ooze crawled up his throat, covering his lower jaw.
“Nnngh…no…no…”
But there was nothing that a protest could do against the encroaching ooze. It was going to take him, and there was nothing he could do to stop it.
Further, further, further the black ooze went, sealing his mouth shut and his nose after. The chemical smell of the ooze mixed with something almost like latex, but he didn’t know what it was supposed to be. Whatever it was, it made him feel even more trapped, bound, locked in place.
The other soldiers were further along than him, showing more and more animal features. Rubber-goo cocks hung down, getting longer and more bestial, and he was made to stare straight at the sky as the ooze ran over his face.
He was blind, but he wasn’t deprived. No, the ooze was giving him all kinds of pleasure, and he was helpless but to take it.
Buzzing at his cock.
A slow insertion between his cheeks.
The tightness around his neck, like a collar.
The worming feeling right at the head of his cock, like something was about to slide in.
The pressure at his ears, slithering, seeking a way in.
Deep down, Lorkos knew he was already lost. He squirmed, his body not yet getting the message that his mind had already received, but it was a losing battle. His arms were stiffer, his body quieter, as the ooze tightened ever more. Soon, he was nothing but a quivering goo bundle on the beach among nine other fallen soldiers, each one waiting to be completely transformed by their enemy into a force to use against the rest of humanity.
