Apocolyptica 2: A Falling Star

Devith crept away from the secret passage that led into Rain's room. He had witnessed the whole scene and grinned deviously. She was growing weak. Even without the prescence or influence of the dirge she was becoming needy for them. Just as his master had predicted. He had much to report back to him about.

Devith was a rather small fox. He was red except for the white underfur which he was very picky about. He would sometimes spend hours making sure that it was as white as snow. "Must I kill her my lord?" he asked with a dreading tone.

"I think not. I see how you obsess over this one. All of your pathetic attention sits on a lowly shewolf who holds no real power but to block my path to Rain." From his paws in the shadows a vial would roll out towards Devith "This is a vial of my blood. You have served the Dirge for some time now. Its time you became one. Drink it, and take your wolfess, and then summon me when the task is complete."

Deviths heart raced as he picked up the vial "Yes my leige." he said wa dark grin spreading across his own face "It will be done!"

Star swung her staff in a complete circle over her head and jumped slamming the front part on the ground in front of her creating a small crater. She stood up with a satisfied look having mastered her newest technique when it was suddenly dashed away from her face. Here he came again. That damned fox just didn't know when to quit! She sighed and shook her head "The answer is no Devith. Whatever you want just go aw-....." she stopped suddenly, seeing something different. It was his eyes.... they had become so much darker. Nearly black..... and with red.... The eyes of a Dirge! "Devith! No!" she screamed out taking up a defensive position. She had thought he was low but this was a new level! They had fought for so long against the Dirge with Rain's utmost faith! and now he had done this!? "Wait till Rain finds out about this! She's going to tear you apart!" She said with a snarl.

"I'm sorry Star, but I can't let you do that." he said lowering his own stance. Feeling a strength and speed he never even knew he had "You will not be leaving this place. Not with your Will anyways." he said with a diabolical smile. Stars eyes went wide and she took a step back. She hadn't felt panicked like this in a long time. She hated Devith but he was strong! He had led armies for Rain before how could she beat him. She charged him and swung her stuff jumping off the ground.

"Grraaahhh!" she cried out to try and boost her strength and intimidate him. But it was to no avail. He would side step her and throw her even faster into a large tree where she would run headfirst into it. She hoped the impact would break her neck and kill her on the spot. A simple crack and it would all be over. Devith was not so merciful though. She hit hard and landed on her stomach. Her head was reeling and she couldn't see straight. The world was spinning. She reached for her staff but it was nowhere to be found. It had flown off into the woods somewhere! She had no choice but to run! She started to get up but immediately felt pain in her abbs as Devith slammed his fist into her and knocked her back into the tree. She stumbled back and leaned against the tree. Another slam. This time a kick to her chest. Knocking the wind out of her. She fell to her knees. She gasped for oxygen to recover and discovered her fatal mistake only a second too late.

While she had been knocked against the tree Devith had released his length from its hiding place in his pants and sheith. And while she gasped for air he took her face and slipped his meat into her maw.
