(A Lore Friendly Star Fox Story)

Chapter 1: History of Wolves

Author's Notes: So like with the other Star Fox couples, the time has come to once again visit this pairing. Serving as a sequel to Summer of Love, this will only focus and continue Wolf and Luna's love story. In this one I want to start really expanding on her character in a way I never was able to do so. All to show why she and Wolf belong together only. Now originally when she was brought on board, I wasn't as skilled in writing. But now that I'm better I realized there were parts of her left untouched and needed to be brought to the surface and showing sides of Luna that shows she's not just a pretty face, forced, or this helpless romantic. During the first story that was only the beginning and just a part of her personality to show she can be sweet, loving, kind, and romantic. Now the time has come to show why not only she can match Wolf in other ways, but why the two click that makes her the only one for him. So sit back and enjoy because this is canon and also makes more sense as Wolf has not only shown no interest in any of the other ladies of the teams, but he's never wanted to be with them or the other guys. Especially not in a horrid gender bended form. This story includes Wolf's past and with proper research done to make sense of things. I think I've managed to come up with what is most likely the most sense, unlike with a certain someone who thinks he can write but can't and clearly doesn't care for Wolf at all. He'll never be a writer or true fan but another horrible person, similar to AT who keeps bitching, complaining, and moaning but never changes so this is also done to piss him off even more as it's worth it to show how sad and pathetic he is. Once more X's will be used to break the story up when the passing of time happens. Peace have arrived for the Lylat. It could be felt by everybody, even the hardcore and rough riffraffs who lived and called this system their home. This extended to all of those who operated from the Sargasso Space Zone and the station found there located somewhere in the Metroid Asteroid Belt. But there was no need for alarm or concern from this place. Even though the thugs at the hideout certainly were rough, there were a few things to ensure they wouldn't get out of hand. For one thing Wolf and the rest of his team were able to keep those grunts in check. And now a few more reasons had been added and with how things stood for two of the members of Star Wolf, they weren't about to fuck anything up.

Inside the station at one of the highest points was a single figure, sitting on a couch. This area was one of the newest that had been constructed as part of a plan to improve the living conditions as well as expanding this place. Originally this structure had been more useful for battles. But in the long sight of things, staying on the station long term hadn't been ideal. Thanks to one individual bringing up the shortcomings, things had changed in terms of adding structures and the layout of Sargasso Station. Adding a few more elevators helped with better security even if there was no need to worry of enemy attacks as well as for regular transportation of species and things. In addition, a better gym and training facility to keep the occupants in shape and on top of their game, a much improved and needed layout for the living quarters which were all rebuilt for the grunts that lived here, as well as a better kitchen and dining area had also been built. The final things were better laid out rooms for Wolf, Leon, Panther, the guests rooms for other teams like Star Flight to have their own place to stay in while visiting, and a laundry area for washing and drying clothes, bed sheets, and towels. All of these had been added on and done so to not get in the way of the other sections that already made up the station. And when these new things were in place, it was clearly obvious how much of an improvement Sargasso was now.

The figure on the couch leaned back, stretching since there was nobody else and he had all the space of this piece of furniture to really longue. The two strong and muscled arms were relaxed, just like any guy did when lounging on a that piece of furniture. The male had to admit that this area was a great addition to Sargasso as this was a viewing deck built so one could kick back, relax, and stare out at the vast sea of outer space that made up this part of the Lylat System. He saw the twinkling lights of the stars, the glow of Solar, and the many asteroids nearby the station. It was a wild kind of beauty that this being had taken for granted before. Now there was a reason to look and see a sight his one good eye had never notice before. After all that had happened, perhaps a slower pace in life would be better. He had been through many near death experiences where each time, his life could have ended. Through a combination of luck, skill, and sometimes thanks to his teammates, the male had pulled through. But now the guy was 37 and soon would reach an age where flying wouldn't be possible due to old age. He always knew that would happen. But now thoughts of settling down and taking it slow had really crop up in his mind especially with the new thing that had happened in the male's life. And while some might say it was a horrible thing, the truth was they were haters. It was a beautiful and wonderful thing with the new love in his life.

A sudden knock on a doorframe snapped him out of his viewing of space and thoughts. He turned his dark grey colored head over the right shoulder since the one good eye was on that side of the face. The red colored pupil saw standing and leaning against the door frame was a female and the new reason why he had begun to look at things in a different way. "I heard you'd be here Wolf," she said kindly. Dancing in those light blue colored eyes and on her muzzle was a look of deep love. It wasn't just due to him and her being wolves, it was also because their feelings for the other had been building up for a long time and only recently had they confessed and become a couple truly in love and meant to be together only.

The one on the couch was Wolf O'Donnell himself. His dark grey fur with the dark white in the middle of his face and neck was still the same along with that more wild short military haircut. Like always the left eye had the eye covering on it with only the right red colored eye being his good one. But that single peeper didn't glare at the she wolf with hostile and anger. Only deep love for her, his girl Luna McCay, was burning and matching the female's look. Luna was looking very sexy and beautiful while leaning against the doorframe, her long silver-colored blond hair framing each side of that beautiful light-grey fur colored face. It was seen all on the she-wolf's body. Only the inside of Luna's ears and the end of the tail were white. Add the length of the equally beautiful hair that was so long it reached the base of her tail, and you had one hell of a looker. "So..." Here the beauty tilted her head to the right cutely, her smile and gaze getting softer and warmer. "Mind if I join you Wolf?"

His gaze and mouth also grew softer, but still had an air of hardcore at the same time. But by this point she knew the bigger lupine and saw he was in a mood for love. Then again since they were dating in a loving and closed relationship, that was all the time when the two of them were alone since that had only started recently going out. "You know I always have time for you Luna," he said. Despite only five days passing on Sargasso with the two wolves being boyfriend and girlfriend on the station, Wolf wasn't shy around her. Then again he wasn't most of the time. Just like he had no problem saying the she-wolf was his girl and love. The digits on his right paw flicked forward, indicating the female could join. "You have every right to join me no matter what."

Luna lit up and glowed with happiness. The lupine could even see it and smiled while watching her come to him. But only after hitting a button so the door for this room closed with a soft hissing noise and locked so the two would be undisturbed. Wolf couldn't help but love the sight as Luna was not only the best thing in his life, she was the most beautiful female and creature his one eye had ever laid its gaze on. Each stride of those curvaceous shaped legs not only caused that long sheet of hair to sway back and forth, the very dark grey colored pants were a perfect fit in a sexy way. Wolf could also see even from a front view the way Luna's hips were moving and it reminded him so much of how the view of the she-wolf walking was when being behind her. It was such a lovely thing to behold, especially when seeing the way those hips, tail, and ass moved. For the upper body, she had changed into a sky blue colored top. As always, like with most of the shirts Luna had, the stomach area was exposed. The amount was appropriate to show off, but not be too distracting, just the right length to be useful for piloting or fighting in combat. Then again any exposed of her exposed stomach seen was enough to make Wolf's heartbeat race. The article of clothing was also just a perfect fit for Luna's beautiful and sexy body. Looking showed the she-wolf's chest was a double-d and close to the next level. What completed the look was the black choker around her neck, indicating though she could be sweet, loving, and kind, there was a tougher side to this smaller female. It went well with those black colored shoes on Luna's feet.

She made it and kicked the shoes off before joining Wolf on the couch. Looking showed the bigger male wasn't wearing his usual outfit with all the armor and other things for flight or combat. Instead the lupine was wearing a grey colored tank top that matched the simple pants of the same color. Luna could see how muscled he was from the chest and arms and that were the result of years spent fighting and training. Out of the male pilots, it was shown that Wolf was the tallest, standing at 6'0, and his muscles were more defined. However, that didn't mean the others were weaker than him. His body type was the kind where that part of the body made it seem physically a male could be stronger than another. For without stamina, pure physical strength could burn out. And someone without muscles that looked that defined could still be just as strong, if not stronger. Plus there were other factors in a fight like speed and smarts, outsmarting one's opponent, that showed pure physical strength could only carry someone so far. If anything had proven that, it was how many times Wolf lost against Star Fox. But those losses didn't stop the lupine from improving and getting stronger. Of course now with where he was in life, perhaps the rivalry had gone from being less hostile to a bit more towards the friendlier side.

Luna with no hesitation or shyness had gotten right up against Wolf's body. Her light blue colored gaze met his red eye, both wolves having a fire of love burning bright and hot for the other. Being this close to the bigger lupine showed the she-wolf was really smaller than him. That was no surprise as the female was only 5'7. When standing Luna had to get on her tiptoes to reach Wolf's muzzle in order to give him pecks or licks on the cheek. Or in the case of what happened next, when their mouths connected for full on kisses. The two wolves locked lips, tongues meeting which filled both beings on the couch with happiness. Wolf certainly felt that with his girl and didn't regret with truly falling for her. Especially with feeling her paws on his chest that moved up to stroke and feel the bigger male's neck. The only thing that topped that was holding this she-wolf beauty in his strong arms, and his paws on her back, stroking her long and beautiful silver-blond colored hair. The couple loved to be this close when kissing or making out for it was a way to solidify their bond and love for now.

After some blissful moments, the two pulled back, a grin on her face while his had more like a smirk which was filled with love. But Wolf didn't stop there, he tenderly licked his girl on the face before nuzzling her with affection. The lupine had a soft-spot, but it was barely noticeable. Only here in the moment and by himself with his girlfriend did it ever surface and to show how deep his love ran for her. It was matched in full only she didn't hold it back and when it came to having a softer side for it wasn't buried at all. Luna happily sighed and did those same actions back to him before speaking. "Hey there handsome." Her voice was like a spring breeze to the lupine's ears, and very fitting for such an amazing beauty.

"Hey there pup," Wolf said softly. Unlike when saying that to Fox, this time the term was more affectionate and loving. Whenever he said the word to that vulpine, that was meant to be an insult. For Luna, that word was just a little pet nickname like using the words babe and other words like that.

The pair were silent for a bit as the she-wolf snuggled up against that strong body of the bigger male. For her, this lupine was the best one to be with. It wasn't just feeling how warm it was to be this close. Luna could feel the muscles Wolf had, acting as wonderful cushions that could allow her to relax. The natural scent of Wolf tickled her nose and it smelled wonderful. That stuff wasn't the only two things she loved when it came to him though. Despite the rugged looks of the bigger male, she still could see his handsome face. Unlike some who might be scared due to the eye patch or glaring red eye, the she wolf never found Wolf to be scary. The smaller female also trusted him despite the history and what the bigger lupine had done in the past. Luna knew she would never hurt her. If Wolf had really wanted to, he would have done so a long time ago. And he had proven this to be true despite only having been a couple here at Sargasso for five days. In fact, the smaller female trusted Wolf that much, she was more than comfortable with being in this room by themselves and so close. That even extended to the point of making love and there would be no objection if the bigger lupine took her right here and now as Luna was more than ready for something like that. For the she-wolf accepted all of him as he was and still found things to love.

Wolf however didn't have his mind on sex at the moment. He knew just having the only female and only one he had ever loved was enough and could die this way while being happy. Luna really was that and also the only one the male could ever be with no matter what was said or done. The she-wolf was perfect to him in his one good eye. Even if both of his were in full working order, Wolf could still see she was that. For her looks and beauty, if one were to compare Luna to the other known females, the she wolf had a similar body to Krystal and Fara. All three ladies had asses to die for with sexy hot curves and double-d's for the chest. However Wolf had never had anything for either vixen. Fara wasn't his type and he knew that she always had been and always was in love with Nicholas McCoy, the leader of Star Flight. And definitely she had never dated Fox like what a fucked up thing tried to show or say otherwise. Both had made it quite clear they would kill if any funny business went on. Plus the lupine knew even if he hadn't been dating Luna, the others who supported the relationship would have ganged up and helped out. This also included Fox and Krystal. The pure Cerinian wasn't Wolf's type as well. If anything, he would also mock her and call her princess due to the blue-furred vixen's heritage and looks. There would be nothing sincere in that word used as the bigger being never had any affection or a thing for Krystal. Plus, like with Fara and Nicholas, Fox and Krystal would fight and kill if anything happened to their loved one. Once again, others would back them up. But Wolf would never get in the way of those relationships. He was many things, but the lupine wasn't the kind of male to break up a relationship and be selfish.

That left Luna for him and quite frankly, the only one Wolf wanted and needed as his girl and loved one. Sure, she was a she-wolf but that wasn't the real reason he was attracted to her. The smaller female could be loving, sweet, and kind. She was selfless and not greedy, a hard worker, someone who cared about her friends and teammates, as well as revealing how teasing and naughty she could be. But there was a fire burning in those light blue colored eyes that showed someone who would and could fight, as well as be rough and sassy with a little feisty thrown into the mix, and finally was tough and strong in a way that physical strength couldn't determine. After all, the smaller female certainly wasn't weak physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually. There was also a bit of cockiness and taunting too, but not at a deadly level that could get Luna killed. Sure, there were other quirks due to being a wolf like an undying loyalty and love for one's love and mate, as well as that kind of inner strength the specie possessed. Even Wolf had those characteristics but they had been buried deep before becoming unearthed thanks to Luna. These could be reflected and seen especially now that the grey-furred lupine and long-haired she-wolf were dating in a very loving relationship. The affection, caring, and deep, powerful emotions for the other, just like wolves who had a loving mate, came out even more. There were other things as well with her that Wolf loved besides her looks and those parts of her personality. But it all showed one thing; that she was perfect and the only female for the bigger lupine to in a romantic relationship only. No other female, thing, and especially male would ever have his heart but the smaller being.

Now other species and couples truly in love could have these qualities as well but those things were really seen in wolves. However even if Luna had been another specie like an avian or feline, that wouldn't matter. Personality wise, she clicked with Wolf on a level nobody else had before and never would as well as have those wolf like qualities too even if she hadn't been the same specie as him. The pair of wolves didn't agree on everything, but even Luna liked a number of the same things Wolf did. The two did laugh like anybody else and despite how there was a ten year difference between their ages, that didn't affect the love or relationship. The smaller she-wolf was still hot at 26 since it was still a gorgeous age and had yet to turn 27. But the best thing was Wolf wouldn't have her be any other way. This beauty was the ideal female for him as she was that in both looks and personality. But there was a lot more as well with reasons why the two were wonderful as a couple in love. Especially since despite differences, the two were a match made in heaven who accepted their significant other when it came to their strengths, flaws, feats, and past.

On the sofa, his strong right arm was wrapped around her body, his muzzle resting on Luna's hair. She was snuggled against Wolf, her right paw resting over the male's left shoulder, the head being supported by the bigger lupine's chest. The smaller she-wolf's eyes were closed with content, matched by the smile on her muzzle. Wolf just looked down with his red right eye, marveling at just how beautiful his girl was in this moment. "Happy?" he asked.

"More than you could know," Luna replied before opening her eyes to look out at the view of the Lylat with her boyfriend and love. "After how long it took to get to this point with you, it's been worth it."

"Yeah." Wolf's smirk returned, the kind that was his hard version of a smile. "I have no regrets being like this with you."

"Same here." Luna pulled back so the two wolves could look deep into the other's eyes. The bigger male reached up to brush some strands of loose hair away to get a full view of that face. Wolf didn't mind being this tender and loving with the she-wolf. It was no different than Fox showing his affection for Krystal or Falco being that way with Katt. Despite never truly loving another female before this one with him, the bigger lupine was following what his instincts were telling him. So far, everything with showing his girl the loving wolf affection and love was right on target and the smaller beauty responded back in a positive way to show this.

Luna proved that again in this moment, sighing happily and kissing the paw before her slender and sexy arms wrapped around Wolf's neck. "Mmm... You keep that up Wolfy and being nice to me, and I might make it so we never leave this lounge..." Her tone was loving and teasing and matching the look on her muzzle. The eyes were narrowed with love and playfulness with a smile to match. It was to be noted that only in privacy did the she-wolf ever call him that. Out in public regular things like babe were fine. But by some instinct Luna knew never to call her love Wolfy where others could listen. However even she knew there were times to proceed with caution. Wolf was still overall the same lupine. Sure, he now had her as his one and only, but that didn't change other factors of him. The bigger being could still be brutal and ruthless in a fight. Being in love and with a girl didn't affect his abilities. In fact, they could jump to higher points if Luna was ever threatened or insults directed to her, him, or their relationship were said within ear shot, or if the older male heard them on communication systems. Those were the only characteristics of Wolf that were still inside him and could be heightened depending on the situation. But only those who were enemies and those who deserved to face his wrath and anger would get it. The rest of the teams, those who supported him and her being together in love, and especially Luna were safe. For Wolf couldn't love, live, or be with anyone or anything else but the she-wolf he loved so much and never hurt her. Just in she turn couldn't be those things without him.

"Well, I wouldn't mind staying here with you," Wolf said, pulling her in tight with a hug. "After all I've been through and what I had to go through to finally get you by my side, I now know why it's better to kick back like this..."

"You mean just relax?" she muttered, nuzzling the lupine's neck with affection.

"Yeah. Looking back, my younger self would have thought something like this would be impossible. But now that it's happened, I'm going to do all I can to make up for lost time."

"Same here. It's better that this with us, us being in a relationship happening now than never. Especially with how we could have lost the other so easily..." As the two wolves lay there with their loved one, Wolf and Luna's minds couldn't help but drift to their past. Not just what had happened over the last five days, but long before that. From how they became pilots, to meeting the other.

For Wolf, his life had been rough right from the very start. His parents had divorced when he was a pup and without the right parental figure in his life, the lupine had made some choices that the male regretted a bit when reflecting on the past. Now it was to be noted like with everyone else, Wolf had to learn how to become a pilot. But he hated any kind of authority and was known to have a rebellious distaste for it as well as being stubborn. That explained why despite the male's ability to fly being on par with Fox McCloud's level and Nicholas McCoy's too, Wolf's attitude and personality had been the reason why he had left the flying academy on Corneria where he had been learning. Then again, that place would have kicked the male out but he dropped out before that could happen. It then found Wolf at the age of 18 becoming leader of a gang of local space pirates. It was to be noted this was about the same time Andross was banished from Corneria to the planet Venom. As well as unlike in horrible thing that Wolf was not stuck on the planet, somehow babysitting Fox, visiting his father's house, and most certainly not dating Fara Phoenix as that vixen was much younger and not the same age.

During this time leading that gang, Wolf showed to be a calm individual during the heat of battle most of the time, but could still be a bitter and ruthless pilot. With each passing year towards leading up to the Lylat Wars, he became merciless and cunning like a true villain. But despite these traits, he was very charismatic in his own way. It was one of the reasons why the lupine could lead that gang of space pirates as he did and later the thugs at Sargasso as he gained their loyalty. It was also during this period that he lost the use of his left eye and covered it with the eye patch that would be part of Wolf's look moving forward. That took time to not only get used to having one good peeper, but training and rehabilitation to overcome this new disability. But thanks to putting the effort and hard work, he wasn't hindered or slowed down by the loss.

Wolf got more infamous and wanted by Cornerian army. It was during this time that he found Leon at a rough bar on Venom. The chameleon was at a slow point in his life and eagerly agreed to join the lupine. It was known the two worked together long before Star Wolf was formed. Then the one-eyed male would run into the vulpine that would be the next turning point in his life. It was James McCloud, the father of Fox. At this time the first generation of Star Fox had formed with Peppy and Pigma being teammates two and three. This of course was all during the five year period of peace before General Pepper noticed the strange activity coming from Venom. Now there were rumors surrounding James and Wolf somehow knowing the other on a more personal level. There was even a fucked up story full of bullshit from someone who clearly wasn't a fan of Wolf and both the lupine, Luna, and the members of the teams hated this person. The grey-furred male had never been hailed as a prodigy, better than those at the academy he'd dropped out of, or anything like that. Nor had Wolf ever been asked to join Star Fox or personally known the McClouds. James had never been a mentor and father-figure to Wolf, Fox had never been considered a brother to the lupine, and there was also no way he'd even seen or known about Vixy, as the wife of James McCloud had died sometime before Andross's banishment. Fox's mother had died by a car bomb set there by the mad scientist that had been intended for James. Thanks to this it left the father vulpine a widower, and also meant the mad scientist was responsible for the death of Fox's parents. The first leader of Star Fox had been devastated and heart broken, being the only parent to raise the young Fox. That feeling of loss was so great the older vulpine never got re-married. It was just like with Peppy who lost the love of his life, Lucy's mother Vivian, to a mysterious illness.

James was left to raise Fox on his own like Peppy did with Lucy. But the two along with Pigma ran the first version of Star Fox just fine. Every time Wolf fought against the vulpine, he was bested in the dogfights. This lead to the beginning of the bitter rivalry with the team. However what also would influence this was more on Pigma and Andross's end. If it weren't for the choices in Wolf's life and those two, then perhaps maybe he and Fox could have been friends. However the key word was friends, and the two males would have been nothing more as both were straight. Then the infamous incident with the strange activity from Venom happened followed by the investigation. There as everyone knew, Pigma betrayed Star Fox to Andross, showing the swine's greedy nature. However Wolf had nothing to do with James's death. That was all on the future member of Star Wolf. The only reason why the lupine said those things when he fought against Fox during the Lylat Wars was due to learning of the knowledge from the mad scientist. Anything else said later one was more a twist on what the father vulpine had said due to the dogfights he and Wolf had gone through. But one fact remained that James was dead by Andross's hands, meaning the mad scientist was no only responsible for the deaths of Fox's parents, he would later kill Krystal's parents and all of her people years later.

Then during the few years of passing, about four in total, Andross began his preparations for the Lylat Wars. During this time other things began to happen. The first was Sargasso being built as a safe haven for all the criminal scum of the system to flock and flourish at. But completion of the station and set up of the zone wouldn't happen until a year later after the war. There were more pressing mater though. Wolf had heard that a new Star Fox team was on the rise with James's son Fox leading them. The lupine decided, and once again thanks to more influence of Pigma and Andross, that if he couldn't settle the score with James, then his son was the next best thing. This was perfect as the mad scientist hired Wolf to lead a mercenary team to deal with Star Fox when the time came for war. He brought Leon on board of course but they needed two more members. It wasn't until the final year before the war started that the reputation of the new Star Fox team had grown enough that even the enemy had a basic idea of who was on the team, allowing Star Wolf to get its final members. Those were found with Pigma and Andrew. The first joined due to wanting to get a shot at Peppy, and the swine was good enough skill wise having been a former member of Star Fox to join Wolf's team. Now for Andrew, perhaps that was more on Andross's end to get his nephew out of his hair. After all, the fourth member of Star Wolf wasn't the strongest and most skilled pilot, but certainly could keep up with the others. It was very similar to Slippy of Star Fox at the time who clearly had the least amount of experience as a pilot on that team.

The new Star Wolf team then gained a bit of a reputation so by the time the war broke out, both teams knew just enough to recognize the other and who was on which side. Then the fated first battle happened on Fichina. Unlike in the bullshit story, Wolf and Fox hadn't met on Corneria. The entire Star Wolf team hadn't been there as Andross had never ordered them to attack that planet. Just like how Wolf had never evacuated any colonists. And most certainly Fox had never blinded the former as that injury happened long before the Lylat Wars. However the three times fought against the vulpine sparked the infamous rivalries between the two males and the teams. This would last for years until certain events and individuals came along that made the hostility decrease greatly to a point. Even so, everyone knew what happened during the three battles and Star Wolf was bested by Star Fox each time. Then Fox himself would take on Andross, resulting in the ape's first death.

With his employer dead and the war over, now it was just a matter of trying to find any jobs. Luckily due to how much of the Andross's army was left, there was plenty of things to do to keep Star Fox and Star Wolf busy. That was the most likely reason why the two teams wouldn't cross paths until the time of the Aparoids. This was where more of Wolf's personality would shine forth. Most of the time the lupine didn't do anything out of the goodness of his heart and was only focused on profiting for himself and his team. That made sense as being an outlaw mercenary, the interests resolved mainly around the team as well as their pay being the only source of income. They didn't have the backing of Corneria unlike with Star Fox. But because Star Wolf were on their own, this allowed to show qualities of Wolf that showed why he was the leader, and what Nicholas and later Luna would see. The lupine did seem to care for his team and wasn't about yelling at them when they bickered and fought. This would extend to Star Fox when future events would cause both teams to work together. However, not just anyone could join his team and even Wolf had limits when it came to the behavior of those who flew with him. He didn't tolerate betrayal and greed lightly. This included being arrogant and unwarranted boasting, as well as having little patience for selfishness and to those the grey-furred male couldn't trust. This would be shown later when during year five after the Lylat Wars Pigma would be kicked out of Star Wolf and then followed by Andrew a year later. As everyone would come to learn Panther would take their place as the jungle cat clearly had enough skill to keep up with Leon and the lupine but also have the characteristics to not get kicked off the team.

But when it came to Star Fox, Wolf's relationship and attitude to them were clear to see. Only those who saw the lupine for one thing were blind and horrible in their regards. For Peppy there was nothing at all and why would there be? For Falco and Slippy, the grey-furred being was always general hostile. There was no way in hell Wolf would ever be on good enough terms with those members of Star Fox, much less share, swap, or fuck any female with them at the same time. But as for Fox, that's where things were very obvious with how things stood between the vulpine and lupine. Wolf constantly strove to become better than the leader of Star Fox. This was seen as in each fight, the grey-furred male would target the orange-furred being. But later on, a grudging respect for Fox would happen. This was probably due to the result of age for both males. But as seen, Wolf was always quick to offer his usual glare from that one good eye, even making it clear that one day he would kill the vulpine himself. This proved and showed there was nothing beyond that, especially not romance or any other horrid thing like that. Nor was there ever going to be as both guys were straight. However, the lupine had no idea that his life would start to change and form different relationships and alliances with others.

It wasn't just starting to get familiar with Sargasso during that first year after the Lylat Wars, it was then the arrival of the original Star Flight team. They hailed from a different galaxy and had come to Lylat for adventure, travel, and work. The team consisted of the leader Nicholas McCoy the part Cerinian, Ben, the rabbit who would eventually be the love of Lucy Hare, Cody and Kira, two river otters and a couple, and the three robots brought on the mother ship of the team. Due to the fact some of the remnants of Andross's army was extremely hostile, some ended up attacking Star Wolf at one point. It was during this attack that Star Flight came across the team who was actually struggling and most likely the lupine's group would have been killed. The second team had gotten into their ships called X-Strikers, flying to aid Wolf. At the time, Star Flight was still new and didn't know what had happened yet or who the teams were as Nicholas and his crew had only arrived in the Lylat a few days ago and had yet to get in contact with General Pepper.

The lupine was surprised by this sudden help. But the grey-furred male quickly learned the vulpine with long yellow colored hair kept in a ponytail not only had keen eyes that saw more than the surface details, but also thanks to his powers of telepathy like what Krystal had, the part Cerinian could sense and see things when it came to others. From the moment Nicholas saw Wolf's face on the communication screen, the vulpine felt something more than just wanting to help, something that was much deeper that couldn't quiet be put into words, but definitely wasn't due to romance. Ben, Cody, and Kira, who had known this part Cerinian for a long time, had learned when the orange-furred male with glasses got those kinds of feelings, it was best to trust and follow them. That's why the three didn't question Nicholas's decision to help Star Wolf and joined in to make sure the other team wasn't killed.

Once the carnage was over, the two teams met on board the mother ship of Star Flight. There, names were exchanged and something more in general. Wolf saw in Nicholas some of the fire and characteristics of not just Fox but of the lupine himself. Respect for the other was gained by seeing how the other fought and flew. Even Wolf could see how much the part Cerinian had gone through to get as good as he was despite what one whinny bitch troll said otherwise. The same applied to the other three team members as well. There an alliance was formed to not attack the other, as well as not only learning from Star Wolf who was who in the Lylat, but also the story of what had happened here so far. The part Cerinian wasn't the kind to break his word and Wolf like that trait. But the long-haired vulpine did warn the lupine if Star Wolf went too far, or if they attacked Star Flight, then the orange-furred male and his team would stop the former. But Wolf wasn't the kind to also go back on his word either. It was one of those things Nicholas sense and saw in the bigger male that most didn't who only saw Wolf for one thing only like most of the other known faces of the Lylat in a bad way. It was why the alliance still stood to this day that would then be expanded upon when the Star Flight team would grow. Especially when it came to meeting Luna.

For Luna McCay, she, like with many, had been born and raised on Corneria. Unlike with Wolf, the smaller female actually came from a very loving home. Right away some might say as a polar opposite in that regards, the she-wolf was no good for the lupine as they wouldn't be able to connect. But they were wrong. The smaller being with long hair had troubles of her own. It was through those struggles that made Luna into one hell of a pilot, female, and she-wolf. By working hard, she had grown in a way that the grey-furred male could respect and love. It didn't make her boastful or arrogant. If the she wolf had been, there would be no way in hell Wolf could ever love her as he hated that kind of attitude. But like with all who lived in the Lylat, they had all come into being by union of a father and mother.

The she-wolf was born to her parents Michel and Janie McCay and was an only child. Looking at the older wolves, it was clear Luna looked so much like her mother as they could pass as twins except the eyes. That part had been inherited by the Luna's old man. The silver-haired beauty was raised happy and with love, but never spoiled rotten, as well as being taught right when it came to lessons in life. That rewards were never handed out, one had to work had to earn it. The she-wolf certainly did as there were those who just thought the female was useless and was just another pretty face who was better out of sight. Well Luna wasn't the kind of female to sit back and instead actually do something. That was another thing Wolf loved about her; she was the kind of being to not take shit from anybody and actually work instead of sitting on her ass waiting for someone to bail her out of the situation.

But there was no denying her beauty as that was another thing Luna had gotten from her mom Janie. As the she-wolf grew and filled out, the looks Wolf would come to love emerged. But this being had standards and wasn't the kind of girl to throw herself out there and fuck anyone or anything. For one thing, Luna didn't roll like that and was straight to boot. Those were two more traits shared with Wolf who especially didn't fuck any male or the wrong female. Besides those things, the other parts of Luna's personality emerged that made her who she was. How despite growing her silver-blond hair so long, the choker reflected another side of the she-wolf. But all of these traits made her attractive to a number of male admirers. Luna had dated some guys in the past so she had experience when it came to love and dealing with others of the opposite sex in terms of a romantic relationship. However the female wasn't the kind of being to swap, share, or cheat on anybody. The she-wolf only dated one guy at a time. That was another thing shared with Wolf. He was many things, but certainly not that kind of guy. When the lupine had a random female, it was only her for that one night, or short fling only. Nobody else got involved with her.

As Luna continued to grow up, a fascination to explore the stars and fly in outer space awoke inside. The she-wolf had a few other career choices in mind just in case the first job wouldn't work out. Her parents supported the decision and Luna was off to one of the flight academies found on Corneria. There was more than one in case something happened to the main one that Fay Spaniel and Miyu Lynx attended. With more than one place to learn, friendly competition could happen to really make those aiming to be pilots stand out. That was why Luna wouldn't meet those two other ladies who would be future team members, including Fara Phoenix, with the vixen attending another completely different academy herself. It was only when Star Flight would arrive on Corneria with recommendations from General Pepper of academies to find more members for that team that the four ladies would meet.

During the time at the academy was when some of those troubles began to come up. When it came to studying and tests, the she-wolf did well on those. It was the physical end with combat and with flying that the smaller female had struggled at. Luna wasn't dumb, it was just there was something different about those two areas that required something else. Something that couldn't be memorized and studied like facts. No one was sure why this was. It wasn't a lack of enthusiasm or eagerness to learn and grow. And the she-wolf certainly worked hard. It just seemed like no matter what she did, the long-haired being kept falling short. Not enough to get kicked out of the academy, but not quiet making the amount of progress as her fellow peers. Perhaps it was the kind nature of Luna or some other factor. Some though did give her a hard time, saying she wasn't cut out for this. It got bad to the point she broke down and cried with frustration at times, just down in a really dark place. There were points she had even considered quitting. Thankfully there were those who had the she-wolf's back who were patient, encouraging, and knowing the future member of Star Flight had it in her and it just needed time for that potential to burst forth.

To help cope with this, Luna began to focus on hand-to-hand combat, training her body physically to get stronger as well as handling a blaster better. Thanks to these tasks, it distracted the she-wolf from some of her struggles. And then through a strange twist of irony, something clicked inside Luna's head. Like the key missing part that was lost was found and that's when the she began to get better and accel at the areas she was struggling in. Her confidence and skill increased, never getting cocky or arrogant for the female always knew she could improve more and get better. Thanks to this and her attitude and never giving up, the she-wolf actually surpassed expectations and even showed up those who had given her a hard time. The female never rubbed it in their faces though. Just seeing them be left behind was more than enough for victory for her. Despite what a certain bitch troll hater said, a someone who would hate the fact Wolf and Luna became a romantic couple, skill level could always be worked on to get better. It was the choices and actions that defined a being. It was better to take action and make a difference than sitting on one's on ass and doing nothing.

The future then looked hopeful, and Luna felt much better that finally she was making progress. It was shown and reflected in her growth. Through these struggles the female had grown as a she-wolf and there was no way in hell Luna was going to slow down or stop. It showed by putting in the extra hard work and every bit of effort and determination, with the right guidance, that the she could and had succeeded. Despite not coming out in the top ten when graduation came around, Luna certainly wasn't in a bad place. It felt like a true accomplishment and achievement. But the she never forgot what it had taken to overcome those struggles and obstacles that had stood in her way. The timing couldn't have been better because it was at this time Star Flight had started to seek out other members for the team. Even though they wouldn't check the academies recommended by General Pepper until near the end of the year, the graduates were given notice early on just in case they wanted a chance to join. Luna wasn't sure as she wondered if she had what it took. True, the she-wolf had gone through a lot to make it to this point, but joining a mercenary team was much different than joining the Cornerian Army for different reasons. However if there was even a chance, the female figured it was better to take it.

For six months, Luna not only focused on improving, but also developed back up plans in case Star Flight didn't offer her the choice to join, just to be safe. This included developing her fighting abilities further. Luna would never be as muscled as Wolf or any of the other male members of the teams. But the she-wolf learned how to hold her own in a fight and kick ass in a dogfight or on the ground. Especially with dealing with bigger and stronger opponents. Then the day came when Star Flight arrived at her academy. By this point, the team had gained enough of a reputation so they weren't just complete unknowns or nobodies. But it was to be noted they weren't quite there yet on the same level of being as famous as Star Fox or Star Wolf.

Then the day came when Star Flight arrived at the academy Luna was still at, waiting for them along with the other four who wanted a chance. Fara Phoenix had already been picked up from the academy she had graduated from. All those wanting to join at this second place met the team. Nicholas took a look over the records of their grades, their behavior and attitude along with the others, before they stood back and watched what these potential recruits could do. During it, he saw Luna among them flying, something catching his eyes. It wasn't her looks that made she-wolf stand out, but other qualities the vulpine was looking for that helped. The same ones that Wolf would end up loving, such as the ability to work well others and able to trust and be trusted. She had those which would synch up personality wise with the grey-furred lupine in the future. That was why when Nicholas and his team announced their decision, everyone else was stunned; including Luna herself. The long-haired male explained what he had noticed with the others, that it took more than skill to join his team. Every single one of the five certainly were at the level to fly with Star Flight. But the other four had areas to improve on when it came to attitude and teamwork. One during the demonstration had completely ignored the others, only focusing on another due to deep feelings. Another was clearly arrogant and boastful, ignoring the others as they felt they just got in the way; that they were better off alone. The remaining ones were doing the work all five of the ones demonstrating their skills should have been doing. Out of that selection, only Luna really demonstrated she had what Nicholas was looking for like all the other members of his team.

The decision was final but the she-wolf was still given a choice to join. Luna accepted with no hesitation. Everyone else on Star Flight trusted their leader Nicholas and knew she would be a wonderful addition. Only later on the bitch troll out there would give shit on this and would try to say and object otherwise but nothing he said would change anything. Luna joined her new team as they then went on to recruit Fay and Miyu from the final recommended academy from Pepper. Those two ladies were happy to join and with this, the next part of Star Flight was fully formed.

Up until the two year mark before the Titania incident, the same one where the clone of Andross would emerge, Bill Grey, Katt Monroe, Dash Bowman, Amanda, and Lucy Hare would join the team. The entire Star Flight group was now fully formed, even if two of the members were more on the temporary side of things. However it was to be noted that it was like one big giant family. Since everybody was straight, there was no weird, fucked up, horrid abominations that happened at all like a fucked up orgy. All the members either hadn't met their loved one yet, like in the case of Amanda and Miyu, or loved someone else who wasn't on the team like Katt did with Falco, or was falling in love with a member of the team like Fay and Bill were and the same for Nicholas and Fara. Luna was fine with not having love of her own as the she-wolf saw how the others were and wanted them to be happy. She wouldn't get in the way of that. But like all the members, the smaller female learned that Nicholas was a part Cerinian and his history, just as all the other teams would too. It was thanks to this, the smaller female learned how the long-haired vulpine could connect with her in a non-romantic way. He knew all too well how it had been to be like Luna with struggling to get better at points and never giving up which lead to becoming a stronger and better being. Nicholas knew the she-wolf, like himself and the rest of the team, all had great potential to go even farther and it only had to be tapped into.

During this time, the long haired she-wolf strove to improve even more like with the others. Later on Wolf would give her even more pointers like the smaller being would with him in other areas. She ended up blossoming, becoming one hell of a she-wolf that remained so to this day. But Luna never stopped trying to learn and grow in new ways as she knew there was always new things to learn about being a pilot, just like with all of her team. This helped when meeting Star Fox. Nicholas and the original members of his team had met the latter and worked a little in the past. It had happened after Star Flight met Star Wolf, that they finally got in contact with General Pepper. From there, they had gone on to meet the second team of the Lylat as well as also get the fully story and who was who from the other side. Now the time had come once again for Star Fox and Star Flight to work together again. When both teams met, no romance of any kind happened, but certainly it was great to see familiar faces for some. It was a little tense though for Falco and Katt, but luckily things went smoothly for those two.

And then at last before the incident on Titania happened, the real romance would begin for Luna. A job came up for Star Flight while Star Fox was busy with something else. At this time there were still some jobs but those were starting to dwindle as this period of peace after the Lylat Wars extended. But help was needed and Nicholas knew it was time to contact Star Wolf for assistance. In the end, this would be the right move when it came to the lupine and she-wolf and leading to a beautiful love and romance.

"So... Star Wolf will really be allowed on board?" Bill asked, not liking the idea by the tone of his voice. He and the rest of Star Flight were on their mother ship and in the hangar bay where the Wolfens would fly into and land to meet that team. The area was big enough that the first team could stand back and not get hit or run over.

"Bill, I believe I've told you about when me, Cody, Kira, and Ben first came to the Lylat how we saved Star Wolf," Nicholas told the bulldog with a frown of his own. "So this is a way to pay us back for that. Plus we need the extra fighters and right now Star Fox is too busy to help us out."

"I still don't like it."

"Look, just let me and those that know them do the talking okay? I promise, the four members won't bother you." At this time Pigma and Oikonny were still a part of the team and hadn't been kicked out yet. This meant Panther hadn't joined at this time which meant the romance and love for him and Miyu had yet to happen.

Luna hadn't said anything yet while she and the rest of the team were waiting. The female knew about Star Wolf like so many others of course, but she did trust Nicholas and that the vulpine knew what he was doing. Then Star Flight were alerted of the four Wolfens approaching before seeing them arriving. Only when the vehicles crossed the threshold of the hanger bay was the sound of them heard. Even before the Wolfens successfully landed, there was still tension that was felt as there was no telling exactly what was going to happen. The cockpits then opened and Star Wolf emerged. "Hey Wolf, I'm glad you guys made it in one piece," Nicholas called to greet them.

The lupine got his usual gruff smile. "Of course we did," he commented. "Who do you think we are?" The bigger male, Leon, Andrew, and Pigma then clambered down from their fighters to the floor of the hanger bay.

The other three were keeping quiet as Wolf had told them beforehand to be on their best behavior and let him do the talking. "Well then, let me introduce the other members of my team," Nicholas stated. "We've grown since the last time we met."

It was to be noted the rest on the grey-furred male's team only did quick glances and nothing more. After all none of them, but especially Leon had no interest in romance or sex. The chameleon after all was asexual. Wolf on the other hand took a second longer with doing a quick glance. He knew only by reputation who Bill and Katt were but that was it. The bigger male had never once, nor would he ever, have a thing for the pink feline. Just as in turn, she would never in any way want to be with the lupine. Much less for some fucked up reason be gangbanged by Star Wolf as that was fucked up. After all, the feline's heart always belonged to Falco even if it would still take time for those two to hook up and never be into swapping, sharing, cheating, threesomes, orgies, or above. Much less be into the same gender.

The only ladies that had to be touched upon were Fay, Miyu, and Fara. Wolf had never met them before this moment. But all three of them were so different in personality that nothing would ever work. Besides, all three of them belonged to someone else instead when it came to love. For the poodle that would be Bill as he was more her type of guy. The brown-furred vixen of course had Nicholas while they lynx would eventually meet the jungle cat love of her life Panther later on. They all had standards and what they liked and Wolf wasn't on their radar. Just like how it was for him with none of them being his type. So there was no way in any life or reality that any romance and especially horrid fucked up shit would happen with these three ladies being fucked by him. For all of them, certainly not be into swapping, sharing, cheating, threesomes, orgies, or being gangbanged. Out of everyone in this group and in the hangar bay, only Luna would catch his eyes in a different way that would lead to love and romance. The she-wolf was the lone being to make a spark happen with Wolf unlike the other ladies here. No guy would since the bigger male was straight and only interested in being with one female at a time.

However, the lupine hadn't really gotten a good look at Luna yet during this quick scan. She on the other hand had with the grey-furred male and was stunned. The she-wolf had seen his pic before but actually seeing him in the fur somehow made things different. The smaller female knew the things Wolf had done in the last war. And yet she couldn't help but notice how tall and strong the bigger male looked, how the rugged looks he had made him quiet handsome, and his right red colored eye carried the confidence and strength of a leader even if the team did questionable things. There was also something else telling her there was more to the leader of Star Wolf, qualities and characteristics she would come to love in him that were being picked up. It was that and maybe also the fact Luna wasn't dating anyone and had been single for quite some time. But whatever the case, the she wolf felt butterflies starting to form in her stomach, her tail started to wag back and forth without realizing it, and a slight blush came onto her cheeks. Luna then noticed these things and was stunned. "Wha... what the hell?" she thought in her head, confused by this reaction.

"Well if they are as good as you say they are, this job will be too easy," Wolf told Nicholas.

"I assure you, I trust anyone of them with my life. Some of them may have a ways to go, but they always do their best."

"That so? I look forward to seeing them in action."

"Now then, I think we should show you to your guests rooms," Nicholas suggested. The Star Flight mother ship had enough of them for situations just like this.

"Very well. Then we can go over our attack plan," Wolf added.

It didn't take long for the robots on the mother ship to show Star Wolf the rooms and for each member to get settled in those. But it was after the lupine walked out of his guests quarters that he would run into Luna who was one her way to the briefing room since the guests rooms were in the same hallway as the former. The male almost ran into the smaller female who jumped and startled him. "Oh god, sorry!" the she wolf yelped, a little afraid. The smaller female certainly knew getting on Wolf's bad side could be a deadly mistake.

The lupine was about to say something but then stopped when he really got a good look at her. His eye had glanced over Luna when first being introduced but up close and personal was different. Wolf felt his heart lurch in a way that had never happened before as that spark and click happened. He couldn't help but notice Luna's eyes, her fur and hair color, her curves, and just how beautiful the she wolf appeared to him. The smaller female seemed to sparkle which was a first for the him. He had never truly been in love before, only bedding other females for a quick fuck. There had never been any connection or feelings exchanged and none of them had been any known females on the teams which would then extend to Krystal whom Wolf never had anything for or would ever fuck. This included other females who never would belong or be in the Lylat. But now for the first time in Wolf's life, there was someone of the opposite sex that was making his body react this way and it left the lupine confused and uncertain. But not so much he couldn't reply. "It's fine, just... watch were you're going," the grey-furred male replied in a way he hoped would be friendly enough. He was no ladies' man or had the charm Panther later on would show. But Wolf wasn't the kind of being that was a blunt asshole that others would hate.

The two were then silent for a couple of seconds before the she-wolf spoke again. "Um... I'm Luna McCay..." she mumbled, a little awkward and groaned in her head because it was like she was a teenage girl interacting with a first crush with the hottest guy in her class.

"Wolf O'Donnell," the lupine replied, not really a big conversation kind of guy at this time. "So... you've been on this team for long?"

"No, not that long. I'm... in the same boat as Fara, Miyu, and Fay with it being only a year..."

"Well I'm sure you'll do fine. If Nicholas says you can, then I trust his judgement."

Luna nodded. "Well... nice meeting you, I guess?"

The lupine nodded to show it was okay. The she wolf walked away, the same feeling from before coming out and a happy smile creeping up on her muzzle. Despite Wolf being a criminal, he wasn't actually that bad. Sure he might be rough around the edges, but Luna could tell he wasn't actually evil like say Andross. And just from that one interaction alone had allowed her to start seeing some other qualities she couldn't help but like already. Wolf in the meantime saw the female walking away and was zapped seeing the way Luna's tail, hips, and ass moved while doing that action. He had never seen anything like it with any female before. But there was even more than just her looks that caught the lupine's attention. Just in that one little interaction, the male had begun to see her kind and sweet personality and for some reason it had charmed him. The guy had no idea if he was smitten with this smaller being already. But he did know that he wanted to get to know her a lot better than just getting in her pants. Wolf shook his head and began to head after her to get to the briefing room.

The job then went well and it turned out the extra help had been needed. The rest of Star Flight saw that working with Star Wolf like this wasn't so bad. The only one who was a bit sad to see them go, or rather Wolf, was Luna. The smaller female saw how the grey-furred lupine had flown and a little bit more of the characteristics and personality of his come out that she had sensed were there. What the long-haired she-wolf at the time didn't know was that Wolf had been a tiny bit hesitant to leave after the job was over. But his team and what lay out there was stronger of a calling for now and Star Wolf had left. But the male had given her a last look before blasting off in his Wolfen. This wouldn't be the last time that the two teams would end up working together however.

In the meantime other events were going to transpire. For the Star Flight team a year later, they would meet the final group out in the Lylat, the Hot Rodders. From Katt, Nicholas and the rest would learn how she knew them, and a bit more of her past and Falco's. The pink-furred feline decided to then head with that group of familiar faces which Nicholas had no problem with. Some of the Star Flight members were sad, but supported the decision. This all took place before the Titania incident and where once more Katt would be reunited with Falco. Through that, even though the pink-furred female was dating Kool for a bit, she would learn her heart belonged to the avian and leave the Hot Rodders to go back to Star Flight.

Meanwhile for Wolf and where he would go next, it all started with Sargasso. By this point it had gained a reputation by Corneria, and eventually Star Fox, for it to be a safe haven for hardened criminals. But what wasn't know was Wolf became the leader and boss of that place and area. The lupine took over, straightening up the scum to be a more organized fighting force. Doing so granted him the title of lord and this all took place during the Titania incident. However Wolf never really cared to be given such a title but he let it slide.

This was where more of the grey-furred male's personality would burst forth. It was a year after taking control of Sargasso that the leader of Star Wolf got sick to death of Pigma. This was during the fifth year after the events of the Lylat Wars. The swine was greedy and overall had an untrustworthy nature, something Wolf hated in others. That was why the lupine ordered his men to drive Pigma out of the territory if he ever showed his ugly mug again. And given how the ex-member of Star Wolf now had three scars on his head, Wolf had gotten pretty violent and clawed at the swine. Then the next year Andrew was also kicked off the team due to arrogance and unwarranted boasting which Wolf also hated. Only later on during the time of the Aparoids would it be revealed what those two ex-members of the teams would be up to and what would happen to them. Only Leon would stay due to being a long term friend despite the sadistic nature of the chameleon.

However since now Star Wolf only had two members, they would need another who would come in the form of Panther. But until then, Wolf and Leon couldn't do any jobs with two beings and so had to become temporary members of Star Flight until the third member for Star Wolf was found. The reason one of the thugs at Sargasso wasn't used was because none of them were at the level needed. Even if they had been, most of them had characteristics that would just get them kicked off the team. What Wolf needed was someone at the right skill level but also had the right personality and attitude to be in his group. He didn't want a repeat with Andrew or Pigma. It was better to find someone else new out there instead of wasting time and avoiding headaches and frustrations. When it came to Star Flight before this little complication, Star Wolf had worked with the latter quite a few times after that first job, so everyone was used to the other enough. There was surprise when hearing the situation, but the lupine and chameleon were allowed on board. That was no problem for the second male as he did his own thing. But for Wolf and Luna, that was a different story.

For the she-wolf, after that first meeting, the smaller female found herself unable to find love or even date. There was something about the bigger lupine that she couldn't get out of her head. Then Wolf kept coming back into her life and Luna found herself unable to get him out of her heart. When it came to the grey-furred being, every time he saw her, his heart would react the same when first seeing her. Up until this temporary arrangement of staying with Star Flight, each time Wolf would interact with her, he would scoff it off and try his best to ignore it. After all, he didn't think she was anyone special. At least, that's what he tried to tell himself. Wolf went a step further by doing another thing that was usually done. That was also having one-night stands and short flings with random females. And yet no matter what Wolf did, he couldn't get Luna out of his mind.

During this short time period with him being with Star Flight, that was when the two really got to know the other better and talk, as well as help the other improve in different ways. For Luna, it was more on the combative end and while the she-wolf had come a long way and had gotten stronger, the smaller female knew she could get better. So who better to help than someone like Wolf since Leon wasn't going to be much of a teacher due to his personality. The bigger male agreed, figuring it couldn't hurt and she was one of the few beings he couldn't say no to. Unlike what a whining bitch troll thought and said who hated the wolves who would become a couple later, Luna worked hard again to improve and was a quick learner. Wolf once more saw the qualities and value in her, stuff that he liked more than just what was allowed on his team. He also saw all the other stuff that made the long-haired female who she was and found himself liking it quite a lot. She in turn would help him out in other ways like being better in a social way. That didn't meant Wolf was suddenly going to be a chatter bug, but at least when it came to dealing with certain topics and other members, Luna was able to help him understand and navigate social waters better. The she-wolf also showed the bigger male that there was more to life than just money and fighting, at least when it came to kicking back and relaxing. The lupine found the time spent with the smaller female was fun in a way that hadn't been possible before with anyone else. Up until then it had been money, fighting, killing, and living to fly another day. But with Luna, Wolf found a different outlet and look on life a little. It was something else that nobody else had been able to do before.

During the times with helping the other out and talking, the two even opened up with what happened to them in the past. Wolf liked that about Luna for she didn't see him how most would. Many in the Lylat would only see the lupine as a criminal, never giving the male a chance or try to even get to know him. Now the smaller female wasn't stupid or naïve of course with knowing about the things the bigger grey-furred being had done. But the important part was Luna made an effort to get to know Wolf better and see the real him, not the surface layer details like what most would do. She knew if he had wanted to, he would have hurt her but she-wolf never got that sense it would happen and certainly didn't find Wolf scary.

Thanks to these talking and interaction, the two wolves found out more with the other, including what they both liked and hated. It was to be note none of this, not even after hooking up with Luna in love, was going to change Wolf so much so that it was like a 180 degree flip. But he certainly was a different male with only a few things that made up his personality altered a little. But you still didn't want to make the lupine angry. He could still be ruthless in a fight, merciless, and especially if Luna was put in danger. And he still had those skills as a pilot that didn't diminish because of her in any way, shape or form; despite what a whinny bitch troll moaned about. Plus with the progress the she-wolf made, her skills increased too. Even others saw and were impressed. But none more so than Wolf.

As the two interacted, and talked, the two found they didn't agree on everything, but both certainly didn't scream or fight with the other like those in a horrible relationship. There were things that definitely pissed them off that made Wolf and Luna snarl and rage at times. And that was how many sick fucks and freaks out there saw the lupine for one thing only. To be fair it extend to other team members, eventually poor Krystal who would suffer from this too. Wolf was straight and never thought of swapping, sharing, or cheating like never doing threesomes or above, gangbanging, orgies, rape, BDSM of all kinds, including pain, torture, tentacles, the fucked up zero-suit, bestiality, scalies, dinos, other fucked up aliens, and finally disgusting lactating and spraying of breast milk nobody would ever drink. Wolf also never had anything for any of the other female members of the teams. That meant there was never a fucking chance in any reality or lifetime the lupine would ever be with or fuck Fay, Miyu, Fara, Katt, Krystal, and definitely not Fox, Falco, or any of the other male members. This went one step further to Wolf never fucking the wrong male or female that didn't belong in the Lylat, like a racoon thief, a yellow-furred female, or be a fuck toy/sex thing that a number only saw him to be. This then went further with impregnating the wrong female as the lupine always took precaution when engaging in sex, making sure protection was used. He was in no hurry to be a father and while many things, he would never get someone pregnant just to fulfil a fucked up sexual fantasy. Wolf and Luna hated things anatomy wise that made no sense like bulging of a dick inside a female or cum over inflations when that could never happen. They also hated, especially hated, when Wolf was turned into a giant, and the worst part of being horribly gender bended or given the wrong genitals. The lupine had never once asked or wanted to be a female. There was no alternate universe or reality where it would happen which he and Luna also hated. There was only reality in the Lylat at the end of the day. For Wolf wasn't just something or someone you could make into a sexy symbol or fantasy like every members of the teams. He had feelings and characteristics as well. Luckily everyone knew the truth and all that stuff of him out there art and video wise that should the lupine to be things he wasn't; they were nothing but horrid abominations and fakes.

The year then went by and after interacting and talking so much, both wolves found there were smitten over the other; even to the point of being in love. Though neither said it, both could easily remember when they realized it. It happened after a usual day with interaction, training, and talking. But something felt different this time and after saying goodnight, the two returned to their rooms. It was here that thoughts of the she-wolf ran through Wolf's mind and finally figuring out why his heart acted that way around her. The bigger male had found the only being and one for him out there to be with in a romantic and loving relationship. It had taken a lifetime but it had happened. And it wasn't just to take Luna to bed of course; the lupine saw all of what she was and each part of the smaller beauty had charmed him which had turned into these feelings. This was the right kind of change and what had been needed in his life.

For Luna, she knew it was true love in her heart for the leader of Star Wolf. There were no regrets for that like it was for him. Wolf was, in many ways, the male of her dreams and perfect despite the past and all his imperfections. Sure some could be worked on, but even then the she-wolf wanted to be with the lupine. Neither were perfect, but both had helped the other learn and grow as individuals. But then came the doubts and wondering how the other could return those feelings of love. Wolf had every right of course given his criminal background but even Luna wondered as well if someone as hardened as him, despite seeing other sides of him, would and could settle down with her in a romantic relationship. She never dated, not even up until this moment since joining Star Flight. So the smaller female was free game for Wolf. The she-wolf stayed that way and tried to see if she could make things work. Of course eventually that happened in the future with the two wolves hooking up.

Then near the end of that year, which marked it as being two years before the trouble with the Aparoids, Wolf found the pilot who would become the third member of Star Wolf. The lupine had been contacted by Panther Caroso. The jungle cat had answered the request that the grey-furred being had sent out to those on the more criminal side. It turned out the feline not only had the skills needed to keep up with Wolf and Leon, his attitude and personality wouldn't make it so Panther would get kicked off the team. The male also knew how the game worked as before that, the jungle cat had committed enough crimes and misdemeanors to catch the eye of Corneria to track him. It was known the calling card of Panther was the rose, but the guy wasn't evil or sadistic. Just like with Wolf, the jungle cat wasn't beyond changing. He had simply grown up a certain way that, and had circumstances been different, could have had a better life. But that wouldn't happen until Panther would meet and fall in love with Miyu.

The jungle cat wouldn't meet her or the rest of Star Flight yet as it was decided that Wolf and Leon would meet him at Sargasso. The lupine made the announcement but was more reluctant to leave. It was because of Luna and while he could have asked her to join Star Wolf, the reason the bigger male didn't wasn't just because of those doubts and fears of the two being a couple. Wolf didn't want the she-wolf to live a life of crime, even if Star Flight could vouch for her and Star Wolf. But this was another turning point for him to start thinking of at some point retiring from the business as age would also be another factor. By this point, he was getting closer to 40 and reach an age where flying wouldn't be possible due to being too old. That always would have happened even if Luna hadn't been met. Even so, he found it hard to say goodbye to her but at least did it right face to face with the smaller female. She also had a hard time of letting him go. However, both knew somehow they would see the other again and promised to stay in contact. Star Wolf then left Star Flight, neither team knowing what was about to happen next.

Two years went by which of course meant at least Krystal came to the Lylat during the first one. This was where Luna and the rest of Star Flight and Star Fox learned more about Nicholas and his past and why he knew the pure Cerinian as a friend and nothing more. Then during the second year, it was all about getting the blue-furred vixen up in terms of skill level to fly with the rest of Star Fox since Peppy being at the age he was, really couldn't fly at all. Working with the team kept Luna distracted from Wolf until the time came the two could be together. What also served as a distraction, and in a way a thing to strengthen the she wolf's resolve of hooking up with the bigger male, was seeing others begin to hook up in terms of romance on her team like Nicholas and Fara, Ben and Lucy, and Bill and Fay.

For Wolf, he was also distracted from being away from Luna due to him and Leon getting used to Panther on team as well as showing the jungle cat how things worked in their group and around Sargasso. Some of this did push the feline to his limits, but as was seen later on, he pulled through. There was a small downside and that was seeing his flirting nature when it came to beautiful females, which while it could be a pain in the ass, never went too far to the point the lupine would kick Panther off the team. Now it was true the jungle cat had a quite a few one night stands and short flings, this didn't bother anyone at Sargasso. After all, the feline kept what happened in his bedroom separate from work. It was also to be noted it was with random females and one at a time, not anyone on the teams. Panther may have been many things but wasn't interested in swapping, sharing, and definitely not having a harem. As for cheating, there were times even he could see the love between a couple and knew better than to cross that line to avoid death or worse like never trying to steal another male's girl from them. The jungle cat did have standards after all and other lines he would not cross. However he was still a flirt and maybe somewhat a man whore having been that way for years but even Panther wasn't sex crazed. Later on he'd met Miyu, the one female that would be all the jungle cat would need for love and love making but that would happen a bit later on.

Wolf and Luna in the meantime kept in contact with the other which was enough to keep the other going to get to the point of becoming a couple. The bigger male no longer had any one night stands of short flings as his heart was fully set on the she-wolf. Now he spent time figuring out how he can settled down with her despite being a criminal. But then Star Flight and Star Wolf began to hear rumors of the ex-member Andrew and his plans. This came to fruition and it was Star Fox who answered the call for help from Corneria forces. What that led to was the first encounter with the Aparoids. It was to be noted Star Flight only fought on ends that Star Fox didn't go to. That was why the teams never crossed paths during that crises. Of course with Star Wolf, that was a very different story.

After nine years their next awaited battle took place at Sargasso. It was here not only did Panther get introduced, but also the notorious beginning of trying to flirt with Krystal. Needless to say, that never went anywhere despite what others tried to say or do. Once Star Fox learned where to track down Pigma, Wolf took his team to find that swine first. Taking some of the thugs that he was in charge of just in case, Star Wolf made it to the Asteroid Belt, only to be surprised and defeated by the Aparoids there since Pigma's base being constructed was located there. Luckily the three members managed to abandon ship and survive as seen later when they arrived at the battle of Corneria. During these incidents, more of Wolf's character came to the surface.

At this point in time, whether due to age, falling for Luna, both, or something else, the lupine had changed a little in terms of attitude to the point of being more anti-hero like. He was still the same in many ways but it was noticeable. However Wolf was unwilling to aid anyone for the sake of heroism of justice. He would though give Fox that bit of advice, "Don't hesitate. When the time comes, just act!" This would help Fox's team later against the Aparoid queen. And since she and her race was a common foe, Wolf and his team, with some reluctance, did help Star Fox. Of course the guy would cover up his actions by telling the vulpine, "If anyone is going to tan your hide, it's gonna be me!" However there was respect gained between both males that wouldn't lead to romance. During the battle of Corneria when the leader of Star Fox rode on the wing of the Wolfen Wolf was piloting, even he was impressed how well Fox handled the enemies. The bigger male even told the orange-furred being, "You've got some skills pal," and, "Nicely done Fox." But with both males being straight, those were just general comments, and nothing more. The lupine's words also helped when fighting an infected General Pepper too.

Then at the battle at the Orbital Gate, that was when Wolf and his team came through again to help with the missiles. It was to be noted Star Flight and the Hot Rodders had caught up and had joined the other forces, mixing in with them. But they kept their lines closed as Nicholas told them this wasn't a reunion party. This was to get a job done. Katt was saddened but prayed Falco would make it back after Star Fox warped to the Aparoid home world. Meanwhile Miyu ended up spotting Panther's Wolfen with the rose which was the start of seeing the jungle cat before meeting him after this incident. Star Wolf followed behind but Star Flight and the Hot Rodders stayed behind just in case.

The news of what happened was told when the teams got back. From how the Aparoid city was attacked, Peppy crashing Great Fox into the shield, the tunnel, Star Wolf helping Star Fox out, to the final battle. It was to be noted although Panther said to Krystal he would like to see her again once this was over, the jungle cat didn't realize he'd be eating his own words soon when the male met Miyu. It was also learned what Wolf and his team did in the tunnel to allow Star Fox to take out the queen. The former group managed to find a way out of the tunnel before the planet exploded. Fox and his team did what was needed with killing the Aparoid Queen and making it out to show Peppy was alive. All those that had been infected were cured except those that had been killed. The two teams managed to return home which would lead to the next phase in everyone's life.

A whole year went by. First when it came to the Star Fox team, Fox and Krystal began heading towards finally confessing their love but that wouldn't happen until the time spent at Shining Star Resort on Corneria. It would take that long after the destruction was cleared up and rebuilding for things to open again. In the meantime Falco, to the surprise of some, actually hooked up with Katt. Maybe it was something rubbing off on the avian but after the Aparoids, the pink-furred feline and him actually met, talked, and became a couple. Neither of them had any regrets. As for Peppy, he made sure to recover, as well as spent time talking to a un-infected General Pepper, and of course to Lucy and Ben of Star Flight. When it came to Slippy he met Amanda on Aqaus since things were needed from that planet. It didn't take much for true love to happen for those amphibians. At least those two knew they were meant for the other no matter what.

As for Star Wolf, Panther ended up meeting Miyu about a month after the Aparoids. Even though she knew who he was, there was something about the jungle cat that struck her heart in a good way. As for the bigger feline, he found the lynx to be a very sexy and beautiful female himself. Panther weighed the choices in his head and heart as now there were two females to try for. But in the end, he realized Krystal was never going to return his advances back. Besides, Miyu was more available as she had nobody and in some ways had more sass and other characteristics the jungle cat like in a female. It led to true love happening for the felines and them being extremely happy. But for Wolf and Luna, they were in the same boat as Fox and Krystal. The two wolves couldn't seem to push the envelope to becoming a couple even though the bigger male had figured things out for spending a life with the she-wolf.

It was to be noted though Wolf would much rather have Luna as his girl than anyone, especially never wanting Krystal. It was true the pure Cerinian could, if something presented itself, gain enough of Wolf's respect. However, the blue-furred vixen had no feelings from him. Sure, she might express relief and joy, but that was only in general to other team members. Only for Fox would Krystal have more in those emotions and others due to true love. But Luna had warmed the grey-furred male's heart for love. The she-wolf would never be called princess by Wolf. Instead, he used pup as a more affectionate term, or would later after the two became a romantic couple. Even despite the clear obvious facts that nothing romantic with Wolf and Krystal would ever happen, other sick fucks and freaks got it wrong. But there were others who knew the truth of things.

The good news was that thanks to circumstances, things for Star Wolf throughout the year went much smoother. Miyu dating Panther helped, along with Star Flight vouching for the team and working with them during this time period. It allowed the two felines to the next point in their relationship, and for Wolf and Luna to hook up. It made others relax and trust Star Wolf a bit more as they actually helped in the recovery process. Another helpful thing was Star Flight's call and word was well trusted as that team had long since proven themselves. But it wasn't until that time at the resort it would happen. It was good to take a break for everyone on the teams and what it lead to was for a brighter future. Miyu and Panther got engaged as did Slippy and Amanda. Now one could argue it was too soon or some other bullshit. But for these two couples truly in love, they knew who they wanted to be with and there were cases like that. As for Fox and Krystal, they did confess and hook up as did Wolf and Luna. At the end of the vacation, the she-wolf went with Star Wolf and Miyu back to Sargasso. Star Flight had been there before a number of times under Wolf's protection during that passage of time for one year so the ladies weren't nervous. Especially the lynx as Panther made sure nobody fucked with his girl. Wolf had also made it clear to the scum there that any guest invited there by his team were not to be harassed, touched, or given sexual advances in any way, shape or form.

When it came to the space station after the Aparoid war, with the casualties suffered by the criminal gang, the threat posed by them to the Cornerian Army was no longer deemed realistic. The base was presumably placed under close supervision, but the dense surrounding asteroid field would make tracking difficult. Because the Aparoids were not involved in the Star Fox and Star Wolf's conflict in this area, this also resulted in the area being listed as the only campaign to not have any Aparoid-related casualties. Plus Panther was now engaged to Miyu and she would keep him in check. At the very least, she could vouch for the jungle cat since they both connected in a way and see sides of the other nobody else could. And with Wolf dating Luna as well, she was another connection to help out in that way. Above all he and the smaller female were finally truly happy to be in love and together. Wolf had no problem with Miyu being engaged to Panther and the jungle cat's girl. Because in the end the reasons why Luna and her lupine love and boyfriend were and always meant to be together, went much deeper than obvious ones. Sure she was a specie of his kind, but the smaller female could connect with the bigger grey-furred being in a way nobody else could and see other sides of him almost nobody else could spot. This caused him to show those things he had never in his entire life shown anyone else before. Wolf would never and could never harm the only female he loved so deeply to the point Luna wasn't his girlfriend in his mind. She was his mate, and he could only be happy with her as she made him realize there was more to life than fighting. How even after everything Wolf has done, the smaller she-wolf could find things to love in him and he was perfect for her. How she didn't and had never see him as nothing more than a sex toy and someone who fucked anyone or anything like most did. Just how in turn he knew it wasn't just her looks that he loved, he loved Luna's personality, how she still loved him despite what he'd done and how he can only be happy with her. And this would be shown throughout what would happen on Sargasso for the next five days before the next step was taken in Wolf and Luna's relationship.

The Star Flight mother ship had gotten Star Wolf, Miyu, and Luna near Sargasso. Once a few words were exchanged of following plans to come, five ships made their way to the space station. Leon of course kept to his quiet self while Wolf was playing in his head the scenario of what had to be said to the riff-rafts later. They had no idea of the new developments, only that the lupine and his team were taking a little vacation. By the time the destination came into view of the three Wolfens and X-Strikers, the grey-furred male knew what he was going to say in a quick meeting. His one eye did see the changes in structure to the place, and how it really seemed more like a home and place to live. Sure, a very rough one with a rowdy crowd inside, but still the closest thing to a home Wolf had ever had. He did have Miyu and Star Flight to thank for these changes for without them, the new layout and structures added wouldn't have happened.

Panther honestly had been thinking of the changes for a while but never brought it up to Wolf as the jungle cat was still new to Star Wolf compared to Leon. But once he and Miyu started dating, she brought it up to him whether in bed after an intense love making session or in general. Only then did the jungle cat make it known to Wolf. The lupine wasn't sure where to get the money, let alone the materials needed to make it possible. Then the answer came in the form of the abandoned space station that had been somewhat constructed by Pigma during the Aparoid war. That thing had just been sitting there as a floating piece of junk and starting to decay. With no infection, parts of it could be taken for a better purpose. When Sargasso had started to get the things added to it, Corneria had been put on alert. But it was clear this wasn't a military upgrade and the planet was able to breath easily. As for the money needed for the work, that had been provided by a third party. That group was Star Flight who wanted this to succeed for they were allies of Star Wolf and with Miyu dating one of the members, that team was more than happy to help. Nicholas only asked Panther in exchange for this to make sure the lynx was happy. The jungle cat was as good as his word and Wolf was very pleased with this decision. Now that he was dating Luna, he knew the she-wolf would be happy here as it was more comfortable. All of that had not taken as long as one would think with all the help given and it made a galaxy worth of difference.

The five ships made it inside and landed in one of the new docking bay areas, not the same one Fox and Slippy had used when Star Fox had snuck in here looking for Pigma. A couple of monkeys were waiting and on alert. Wolf had alerted his men his team was returning with Miyu and Luna before coming here. So all of them knew to except the two ladies as they valued their lives and not face the wrath of the lupine when it came to protected guests. "Boss! Welcome back!" one of them said as the five figures got out of their ships and landed on the metal flooring. The sound of boots was a clamor of noise not in synch. All the luggage and other things from the vacation were on board each ship and would be taken out to go to the rooms later. More things from the Star Flight mother ship had also been brought too before Miyu and Luna took off with Star Wolf to get to Sargasso.

"Everything's held up fine while I've been gone?" Wolf asked.

"Yes sir; and we're all on our best behavior."

"Actually that's good cause if it's alright Wolf, I think we need to tell them what happened," Panther stated. The lupine nodded in agreement before telling the two monkeys to make sure everyone gathered in the meeting room on the station. Miyu grabbed the jungle cat's right paw she was engaged to with a grin as he gave her his most charming loved fill smile.

"You're going to tell them about us?" Luna whispered to her new boyfriend as the group of five walked down the hallway to announce the news.

"May as well." The she-wolf got a teasing grin.

"Don't worry; I'll make sure you still are good in the eyes of those you lead here babe. Although is that too much to call you things like that?"

He firmed his lips in thought. "No, that's fine pup. But don't go too far with the PDA on here in public. Deal?"

Luna nodded. "Got it. And I can do that since I now have you." It was to be noted after hooking up, his affection term of the word pup was used, along with PDA being more relaxed at the resort, and little pet nicknames. Her use of the name Wolfy had been used but only in private even then after hooking up with the bigger male. "At least I won't say something stupid like that little nickname of yours in front of others. Or god forbid, like a horrid fake you were somehow you're dating Fara Phoenix when that's never going to happen and use the term, dandy cadet."

A look of horror flashed on the lupine's face for only a second. They both knew what his girlfriend meant. That version of him had some very obvious key points wrong. He'd never once dated Fara who was somehow older than Fox or Nicholas which wasn't true. She was always the part Cerinian's girl only. And Wolf had never really seen much of his old man. Plus he had never drove Fox around like somehow he was babysitting. "Uh, you better not," Wolf growled in anger after regaining his composure. He wasn't mad at Luna, just pissed like with her at that horrid thing. The she-wolf nodded in agreement, growling in anger like her boyfriend and guy at that thought. The two then let it drift to the back of their minds to focus on the present.

The meeting room had always been on Sargasso before and it wasn't long before Wolf, Panther, Miyu, and Luna were in front of all the others who lived and called this station their home. Leon stood more in a corner, not one to make speeches. The ladies felt no fear or sense of being uncomfortable. They could see in all the eyes of the riff-rafts was respect, not looks of lust, and in no way discrimination. Then again they knew the two ladies could most likely fly circles around them. Add to that, there was the embarrassment from Star Fox's attack on this place with Krystal flying and taking defenses out even if the vixen had needed a couple pointers from Falco during that time. The grunts here also knew what the other ladies on the teams could do as well and weren't too keen with messing with any of them.

"Alright, listen up," Wolf began, causing the crowd to come to attention. His tone was one of being serious and they knew when the lupine got like that, it was best to shut up and pay attention. "First, I'm going to ask you idiots to hold in the cheers when you hear what Panther and me have to say." The grey-furred male paused to make sure those gathered here understood. Sometimes the grunts here were idiots but at least they were trained better in some ways. "So first, as you can see, Miyu and Luna are once again here as honored guests and protected. But, there are even more so now." A smirk flashed across Wolf's muzzle and turned to Panther to start the news.

The jungle cat was glowing with happiness, love, and pride as he cleared his throat. Miyu was by his side, the same feelings flowing through her like a river. "You know since I've come here and my history with other females. All of them random and flings, none of them being those that are known or famous. Then I met this gorgeous feline here and she change my life, view, and perspective for the better. And that was why, even if some might say we're taking it way too fast, or it's not been long, I know what I want like with her. That's why it was during the vacation, I proposed to her..."

The engaged lynx, the future Mrs. Caroso, held up her left paw and all here saw the engagement ring glint in the light. It was funny to see the reactions. Some nodded, others had jaws dropping in shock. "So I want you boys to know, Miyu was always off limits since she became my girlfriend and mate. Now she really is as she's my future wife. Remember, make me mad and you're life's as good as gone."

His strong left arm went around the smaller feline that he loved. He never saw her as just another beauty, and certainly not like a trophy, object, or sex toy. Miyu to Panther was a strong, beautiful, loving, kind, and perfect being to be with forever as his one and only. After all, she was all the female and all he needed for love and sex. Now it was her turn to speak. "We don't know when the wedding will be, but we know it will take place after another. For now, all I want to do is let this sink in a bit longer that this jungle cat is going to be my future husband as he's the only one I want to be with forever..."

Panther and her then turned to nod to Wolf who took a deep breath to say what he needed to about him and Luna being a couple now. "As his team leader, I can't think of anyone else who has made Panther more happy than Miyu. And both of them have support from me and the other teams in the plans to marry. However, he's not the only one who found happiness." His girl stood up, as though by an unspoken signal in her heart to do so, and stand by the bigger male's side. Wolf took a breath. "You might think I'm this ruthless and hardened fighter. I still am. But I am getting older and will not be able to go on forever. And I don't want to retire alone ever since I myself found love. It shows even someone like me can and it took a lifetime for me. But I have here with Luna who I asked out to be my girlfriend during that vacation..."

Author's notes: The original document was 76 pages long without edits. And due to the sheer amount of history and information, I decided splitting this story up into two parts was ideal like acts in a movie/book/play/etc. That way one could be more the history and love building along with personality development and the more loving and naughty times could happen in a separate part. As well as show despite this change in Wolf, he's still the same male at the end of the day and not doing a complete 180 degree turn which I feel too many do and showing something that the real one would never do.
