To first reach Victory Road I needed to go to Ever Grande City, which wasn't really that big, mainly a Pokemon centre for the challengers who aim to reach the Pokemon league. I had heard that the trainers there had come from all over the world meaning trainers would be using Pokemon from regions other than Hoenn to. That would be interesting and make the journey even more challenging too. First I had Pelipper fly me to Mossdeep City and then had Sharpedo ferry me across the ocean towards Route 127 before heading south reaching Route 128 and then heading East and eventually reached Ever Grande City. Sharpedo managed to climb up a steep and powerful waterfall which allowed me access to Ever Grande City. I thanked Sharpedo and returned him to his Pokeball before heading straight inside Victory Road and getting Shelgon and Metang trained up with my other team members.

Through Victory Road I went as was challenged by an Ace Trainer who sent out a Sigilyph and I sent out my Mightyena having him use Crunch defeating Sigilyph. The next Pokemon sent out was a Rhyperior and I substituted Mightyena for my Swampert having him use Hydro Pump defeating Rhyperior. Ascending up some rickety brides which seemed like they were rarely used I was challenged by a Ace Trainer who sent out a Froslass and I sent out my Blaziken having him use Blaze Kick defeating Froslass. I descended down a level and continued through a darker cave area but it wasn't too difficult to navigate thanks to having Manectric accompany me. Eventually I was challenged by a Expert who sent out a Hitmontop and I sent out my Beautifly having him use Psychic defeating Hitmontop. The second Pokemon sent out was Throh and I substituted for my Masquerain having him use Air Slash defeating Throh. Heading up a level I was challenged by an Ace Trainer who sent out a Mawile and I sent out my Torkoal having him use Flamethrower defeating Mawile.

Continuing on I was challenged by a Street Thug who sent out a Houndoom and I sent out my Shelgon for his first trainer battle. Shelgon didn't disappoint defeating Houndoom with a powerful Dragon Claw. The second Pokemon sent out was a Shiftry so I substituted for my Dustox having him use Silver Wind defeating Shiftry. Descending further, I was challenged by an Ace Duo who sent out a Armaldo and a Cradily. I sent out my Ludicolo and against Cradily I sent out my Breloom. Ludicolo defeated Armaldo with Hydro Pump and Breloom defeated Cradily with Force Palm. Continuing on I was challenged by a Expert who sent out a Sawk and I sent out my Metang having it use Zen Headbutt defeating Sawk.

Next I was challenged by a Ace Trainer who sent out a Electrode and I sent out my Camerupt having him use Earth Power defeating Electrode. The next Pokemon sent out was a Swalot and I substituted for my Gardevoir having him use Psychic defeating Swalot. The final Pokemon sent out was a Darmanitan and I substituted for my Pelipper having him use Hydro Pump defeating Darmanitan. Next was a Dragon Tamer who sent out a Kingdra and I sent out my Shelgon having him use Dragon Claw defeating Kingdra. Next was a Brains and Brawn Duo who challenged me, they chose a Musharna and a Primeape. I sent out my Metang against the Primeape and against the Musharna I sent out my Absol. Metang used Zen Headbutt defeating Primeape and Absol used Night Slash defeating Musharna.

I explored further before realising that was all the trainers who were here challenging trainers. Admittedly they had been quite strong, but I had expected more of a challenge, especially for this being Victory Road the last hurdle before you challenge the Pokemon League. Still I resorted to having my Pokemon train against the wild Pokemon, my Pokemon found that quite disappointing but if they were just that strong, why not flaunt that strength that their beloved master gifted to them. I began with training Sceptile, who didn't have much trouble, the only opponent that sometimes caused some trouble were the Golbat, but Sceptile now had gotten strong enough to handle his weakness. Blaziken, liked fighting the occasional Medicham and Hariyama to test his physical strength and naturally he claimed his victory. Swampert had a great advantage against Lairon that challenged him, he defeated them with his Hydro Pump without much trouble.

Mightyena had no real advantages against many Pokemon here, but his raw power allowed him to defeat the Golbat's and Loudred's that inhabited the cave. Linoone, may have been a Normal Type and should have struggled against Pokemon that lived in the caves. However, Linoone showed that he was strong enough to handle anything that came his way. Beautifly and Dustox had the chance to do some battles against the trainers and had shown that even though most people considered Bug Pokemon to be weak, they were actually very strong and should not be underestimated. Ludicolo and Shiftry had good battles against the wild Maeile and Sableye simply because they wanted to challenge themselves and see that they truly were strong enough to make me proud. They were no disappointed when they defeated their opponents with no difficulties whatsoever.

Swellow and Pelipper fought against Hariyama and Medicham and with their Flying Type moves they easily bested the Fighting Types in battle. They were more than happy to show off their strength for their beloved trainer. Gardevoir and Gallade protected me as I walked through the cave, especially Gallade who walked directly by me, sensing if any opponents were coming. What Gallade would never tell anyone, was that this was his dream, he was finally protecting his master acting as his bodyguard as his knight in shining armour from the dangerous wild Pokemon that inhabited Victory Road. Needless to say in battle, they performed exceptionally well together. No opponent managed to best them. Masquerain too had battled against Hariyama and Medicham whenever he got the opportunity to do so, simply because he wanted to see his strength compared to these giants. I knew that would give him an unnecessary confidence boost.

Breloom rather enjoyed sparing against Hariyama and Medicham but also enjoyed battling against Loudred and Lairon too. He got too use his skills against a wide variety of opponents and got to see that his power was enough to defeat his opponents on his own too. He owed that strength to his beloved master. Slaking preferred having physical strength matches against Hariyama and was happy to always pound them into the ground whenever they got cocky about their strength compared to a mare Normal Type. Ninjask and Shedinja, worked well together much like with Gardevoir and Gallade too. Ninjask kept an eye out for opponents who had super effective moves against Shedinja and forewarned his friend about potentially dangerous opponents. Meanwhile Shedinja outright challenged those dangerous opponents to make sure he was getting stronger after all the battles he had faced through Hoenn.

Exploud surprisingly enjoyed showing off his power to his new admirers those being his pre evolution Loudred. Exploud was more than happy to show the Loudred his skills and his moves and simply told the Loudred that the one who made him this strong was actually the human standing behind him. Exploud greatly respected and admired his master for the tenacity he showed when training such a multitude of Pokemon. He never even got tired when persevering strength. Hariyama being a Fighting Type loved sparing with the other Hariyama in the cave. He greatly enjoyed teaching them how he got so strong and even showed them some tips that his trainer had bestowed upon him. It made me happy seeing Hariyama make some friends of his own species. Nosepass, actually enjoyed battles against Lairon simply because Nosepass wanted to see whose defence was stronger. In those battles of attrition, Nosepass managed to prevail showing himself that his defence was good enough to be on par with some of my other evolved Pokemon. I knew he always doubted his strength since he couldn't evolve as of yet but I always reassured him he was strong and if he only persevered he could get even stronger.

Delcatty didn't have problems battling against the wild Pokemon, but after each victory, no matter how easy or how difficult, Delcatty desired a petting and a brushing to ensure his fur was in pristine condition. This was too show the wild Pokemon just how caring this trainer was, no matter what he put his Pokemon before himself. That was sometimes much to their annoyance as he needed to take care of himself just as much as he cared for them. Sableye enjoyed the darkness of Victory Road and it made it all the more enjoyable when he came across some Sableye that lived here. Sableye and the wild ones did seem like they were plotting something but really it was the wild Sableye asking my Sableye whether they could see his ghostly abilities used to scare his master. Sableye admired their mischievousness knowing they would grow into great troublemakers much like himself. However, Sableye was greatly disappointed when his attempts failed, when I remained unfazed by his attempts to scare him. Still when Sableye met Gengar and Mismagius, I did wonder how I could handle the three of them attempting to scare me. Mawile was almost the same as Sableye, as in Mawile had come across some wild Mawile and desired to teach them everything he knew thanks to his journey through Hoenn. Surprisingly Mawile made a good teacher as he helped his new friends out.

Aggron, too made some friends and rivalries with his pre evolved form Lairon. The Lairon did like to fight against Aggron, but he demolished them in battle, showcasing his strength something that they admired greatly. Soon Aggron couldn't go anywhere without being followed by an entourage of Lairon much to his embarrassment when his master saw the situation. Medicham had been always looking for a chance to one up Gallade and so he would also try and be my bodyguard much to Gallade's annoyance and maybe even jealousy. Still Medicham did get along with the wild Medicham teaching them his ways to help his fellow species out. Manectric had been helping me navigate the dark areas of Victory Road and as a result of his light, many Golbat tried to rmeove him from the area. Manectric handled the bats by simply blasting them with Thunderbolt ending the battles rather quickly and effectively too.

Plusle and Minun greatly enjoyed working together as they too often had to deal with the wild Golbat that attempted to chase them out of the cave for emitting too much light which disturbed them. Plusle and Minun simply used a double Thunder immediately forcing the Golbat to retreat immediately. Volbeat and Illumise worked together decently well, if you consider Volbeat attempting to show his strength of to Illumise and myself at the same time. If he couldn't appeal to Illumise Volbeat would then turn to me and showcase his strength too. Illumise found his show off behaviour to be rather unappealing and simply dedicated herself to getting stronger. Roserade couldn't really garden in the cave, so he felt a little bit disoriented with his surroundings. Still it was a good opportunity for Roserade to see just how powerful he had come over this journey and he wasn't disappointed at all. Swalot also found the cave to be rather different to his usual battle area, however, he too saw it as a situation and showed his strength by defeating Medicham even at a disadvantage which was great to see and he sure felt happy at his victory at a disadvantage.

Sharpedo enjoyed battling in the small lake areas of Victory Road and since they were sometimes rather small he found himself challenged by the Water Pokemon that inhabited those lakes. However, this wasn't much of a challenge to Sharpedo and he simply sent them flying with his powerful speed and moves too. Wailord however, had a little bit of a difficulty thanks to his immense size compared to the cave and even lake we were currently inhabiting however, his sheer size and appearance made most wild Pokemon think twice before they engaged in battle. Camerupt could handle himself against the Mawile and Lairon that challenged him with some powerful Earth Power that practically overwhelmed his opponents. Meanwhile Torkoal, had less of an advantage but enjoyed facing off against Lairon showing that even without a type advantage he could still win.

Grumpig, could defeat the wild Hariyama with his immense psychic powers and even demonstrated his bouncing ability to swat the Golbat out of the air with Power Gem as well. Grumpig was a rather unassuming Pokemon that most trainers seemed to glance over, but having owned one showed me that they were rather impressive, entertaining and fun to train and be around for an entire journey. Grumpig found that to be the same when travelling with me through Hoenn. Spinda was happy to have been given a talented yet kind trainer who saw potential in all Pokemon he raised and caught. Leo didn't judge based on appearance nor ability, nor type. He simply caught the Pokemon, raised them and treated them with kindness and respect. Those Pokemon repaid his love and devotion by continually getting stronger to simply repay him. Flygon, being a Ground Type quite enjoyed training inside a cave, it may not have been a desert where he was most comfortable, but the cave wasn't a bad alternative. Still, Flygon overpowered the wild Lairon with a few Bulldozes to keep them away from his master.

Cacturne, had always been interested in helping his master with anything, whether it be battling or navigating a hard area. Cacturne greatly enjoyed just helping his master in general. Not too mention he also loved being given a chance to show that he wasn't a scary, terrifying Pokemon simply because he was a Dark Type and lots of people seemed to judge his species in a negative light because of that. However, with Leo, those judgments were thrown out of the water, as Leo simply saw a Pokemon like himself for its inner beauty. Altaria, was more than happy to spend time with his master through Victory Road and as the cave was a little colder than the outside, Altaria was more than happy to wrap himself around his master acting like a scarf which kept Leo nice and warm.

Zangoose and Seviper had grown so much that i hardly recognised them from the day I had caught them. Remembering that day always brought back bad memories, seeing two Pokemon badly wounded because of a feud that was who knows how old. Those two had come such a long way, still they had a long way to go. Sometimes they would both share hugs with me, though that was a very rare occasion. Lunatone and Solrock, enjoyed battling in Victory Road, the scenery reminded them of Meteor Falls what had been their previous home. Both of them battled the wild Pokemon together in double battles, reminiscent of my double battle against Liza and Tate. Whiscash, battled against the wild he easily defeated the wild Golbat with his Stone Edge and the wild Tentacruel knew to be on guard against his Future Sight.

Crawdaunt enjoyed battling against the wild Water Pokemon, trying to show that he was the strongest of all. He still meant to challenge Sceptile to a battle to get revenge against the cool Grass Type who easily defeated him back when he was a Corphish. Still Crawdaunt had grown up and understood that he needed to be taught a lesson of humility based on how he acted as a Corphish. Claydol, being a Ground Type battled against the Lairon and tested its psychic abilities against the wild Medicham and Hariyama as well. Cradily and Armaldo battled well together, against the wild Golbat especially. Being part Rock Type helped them handle any Flying attacks that Golbat utilised. They even tested their defences against the Fighting Types too.

Milotic, had a similar issue to Wailord, but nowhere near as big. In a cave, which was smaller than the oceans and lakes that existed in the Hoenn Region. This cave was much too small for Milotic to use his full power. But even at half power, he showed that he was top notch against Golbat's and Tentacruel's. Both had learned not to even attack the human when such a powerful Water Type was protecting him. Castform, liked to make the cave more lively by creating different weather inside. It helped him defeat his opponents, with Blizzard and Hydro Pump respectively. Kecleon, could use his ability to turn invisible to surprise his opponents, especially in such a dark and dreary cave. Most opponents had no idea how to combat against such a tricky Pokemon. The only give away was Kecleon's zigzag pattern.

Banette was much like Kecleon, he enjoyed the dark atmosphere of Victory Road, it reminded him of where he was caught and when he trained at Mt Pyre as well. His ghostly abilities were effective at bewildering the Fighting Types Hariyama and Medicham too. Dusclops too, found the sensation of training here to be similar to Mt Pyre and greatly enjoyed battling here to his hearts content. Dusclops favoured battling against the wild Medicham and Sableye as well. Tropius did find the cave to be rather uncomfortable, being a large Pokemon that could also fly I understood that would make him feel constricted. Still Tropius took advantage of the opportunity to continue getting stronger, showcasing his strength against Hariyama with super effective Air Slash attacks.

Chimecho actually liked the serenity of Victory Road, he found the environment to be rather quiet and peaceful much like the summit of Mt Pyre. Sure there were some trainers here and there and a majority of powerful battle hungry Pokemon but the sensation of home was the same. Chimecho didn't mind battling against the Fighting Types showcasing his strength when they fought he looked dainty and weak blowing in the wind. Absol, he was more concerned about my safety rather than battling. While he did battle, he continually observed my surroundings specifically, keeping an eye out for any potential falling rocks, or gaps in the ground that could cause his master to get wounded. I thanked Absol for caring so diligently about my safety but assured him I would be careful. Still Absol preferred to make sure himself I was safe, in that regard he was much like my Gallade and Medicham too.

My Wobbuffet was very patient in battle, he waited for his opponents to attack and when they did he simply countered by using Counter or Mirror Coat respectively. The battles ended usually in one move thanks to how powerful he had become. Wobbuffet couldn't wait to be introduced to my other Wobbuffet that I had caught journeying through Johto. He wondered whether they would become good friends and whether they could teach each other a thing or to. Galie and Froslass worked very well in double battles, thanks to Glalie using Hail, Froslass could dodge attacks easily and defeat her opponents while Glalie acted as a support to her. Glalie greatly enjoyed working with me and Froslass in battles.

Walrein didn't mind Victory Road, admittedly the cave wasn't as warm as outside, so he felt a little more relaxed. His Ice Beam was strong enough to send Golabt flying the opposite direction. Huntail and Gorebyss teamed up together against the Water Pokemon that lived in the lakes. Huntail was more aggressive meanwhile Gorebyss preferred to observe his opponents and then take them down. Gorebyss also wanted to make sure he kept his trainer safe. Huntail did too, but he was more battle hungry, he did keep an eye on his trainer when he got the opportunity to do so. Relicanth, was suited to battling in Victory Road as the caves, made the water look very dark. It was almost like he was back in the depths of the oceans he had been caught in. Relicanth even learned a mighty attack, Head Smash which completely decimated any opponent he went up against. Most Pokemon here, developed a healthy respect of Relicanth and gave him a wide berth.

Then there was Luvdisc who had no difficulties when it came to battling in such a small environment. It suited his speed and agility too. The combination moves he used were dazzling and powerful as well. Sweet Kiss and Attract were used to immobilise his opponent and then he finished them off with Ice Beam or Hydro Pump depending on who he was up against. Up next was Shelgon who had been getting seriously strong battling against the wild Pokemon. He was determined to evolve into a Salamence and take flight. But perhaps not inside Victory Road. After defeating several wild Pokemon one after the after with help from his trainer giving commands. Shelgon eventually managed to start evolving and I was immensely proud off him.

"Salamence has been registered to your Pokedex. Salamence the Dragon Pokemon a Dragon and Flying Type. As a result of its long held dream of flying, its cellular structure changed and wings grew out." Salamence couldn't contain his excitement and even though he was in a cave, which was rather small and cramped. He extended his massive wings and took flight, careful to avoid hitting the ceiling. After he had finished celebrating he remembered his trainer and descended quickly too him. Salamence landed with a heavy thud and grabbed his trainer with his mouth, lifting him into the air, before depositing him on his back. Salamence again didn't care about the cave and happily flew his beloved master around. showcasing his newfound strength and abilities. Rotom even informed me of some new moves Salamence had learned as a result of his evolution. His new moves were, Outrage, Flamethrower, Crunch and Zen Headbutt some seriously powerful moves.

Eventually Salamence landed hopeful that we would soon leave the cave and that he could then carry his trainer once more through the skies of Hoenn. I too promised him we would take flight together, but for the moment there was one more Pokemon who needed to evolve and that was Metang. Speaking of Metang it battled with such vigour and determination anyone might say it was jealous of Salamence evolving and spending time with me. Though honestly, I wasn't sure as to whether Metang could feel emotions. I'm sure they could though, perhaps they just couldn't express them the same way as most Pokemon could.

Metang began by Zen Headbutting every Fighting Pokemon he came across taking them down one by one. He never rested and continued fighting even when I urged him to take a break every now and then. Metang would turn to face me and stared me down shaking its head before battling determined to repay me and evolve. Eventually after some arduous training, Metang began glowing signalling he was starting to evolve. "Metagross has been registered to your Pokedex. Metagross the Iron Leg Pokemon a Steel and Psychic Type. Metang combined to form it. With four brains, it has the intelligence of a supercomputer."

Metagross was more than eager to showcase not only its newfound strength but also its incredible knowledge. However at the moment there were no ways to demonstrate that knowledge. Hopefully Metagross would be able to show its master that knowledge too. Metagross to had learned some exceptional moves as a result of its evolution too and now it knew, Meteor Mash, Giga Impact, Hammer Arm and Zen Headbutt. Now any opponent who dared challenge Metagross was in for a beating that was for sure. Little did I know Metagross and Salamence now considered each other rivals since they were caught together and evolved together as well.

But with that, I had completed the Hoenn Pokedex and knew I needed to return home back to Kanto and prepare myself for my next journey in the Sinnoh Region which I'm sure would be even more fun and have more Pokemon to catch and befriend.
