Chapter One:
As the sound of a bell ringing filled the hallways, the doors to each class pushed open, furs filing out into the corridors, filling them with their forms and the sound of their voices.
Hiya! My name is Fawn Timpany, a rather average high school student.
The furs in the hallway were a wave of uniforms, boys all attired in the same outfit, a pair of emerald green slacks with a hole tailored in the back of each slacks for tails, should a fur require it, and a black belt looped around their waists and buckled there, with a white, short-sleeved button up shirt tucked into those slacks. Each had the school's emblem on a right breast pocket on the garment, their collars folded down over a plain emerald tie. Each male fur has their hair cut to a carefully set length as well, with each fur wearing a pair of simple black shoes.
I attend Lancore High School. It's not too hard, but as I said, I'm pretty much just an average student.
For the female furs, each wears a similar short-sleeved button up blouse, the school emblem set onto a right breast pocket as well. Their blouses tucked down into a pleated emerald skirt, hanging down just past their knees, a hole tailored in the back of each skirt for tails, should a fur require it. A handkerchief is tied around under the collar of each girl's blouse, emerald with a white line near the edge of it, hanging down over their shoulder blades while tied under their throat. A pair of long white socks reach up to just beneath the hem of their skirt, a pair of black shoes on their paws.
This story isn't really about my high school though; I just thought this would be a good place to start.
Fawn stood with a group of other female furs, all gathered along a wall of locks, a few of them open as some of the small group of five shuffled their books in and out. The white-furred feline girl was almost significantly shorter than the rest of the girls, just a little over four feet tall. Her fur was a pure shade of white, the downy soft coat kept impeccably clean. Her head fur between the two ears topping the feline's head extended back into her hair, bound into a ponytail; reaching down to her mid-back. A pair of gold-rimmed glasses settled on her short muzzle, their lenses wide and round, her bright emerald eyes twinkling a bit behind the eyewear as she spoke with her friends. She's a modestly built little kitten, besides her height, which she's rather well proportioned to. Slightly slender waist, hips flaring just faintly, and moderately sized breasts. She has on a navy blue backpack, straps hugging both her shoulders as the bag hangs down a bit on her. She has a pair of books in her arms at the moment as well, hugging them to her chest. A giggle breaks out in the girls after one of the group cracks a joke, before Fawn glances to her watch "Oh man, I gotta get going or I'll miss the buses! I'll see you guys tonight at the club, right?" Each of the girls nodded to her as the diminutive feline scampered off through the hallway.
Fawn shuffled her books into her backpack after settling down in her seat on the bus, taking a moment to smooth her skirt out underneath her. Her tail curled around her waist as she leaned an elbow against the little sill the bus windows provided, watching the school start past as the vehicle moved forwards. While she watched the passing scenery start along outside, another girl settled down beside her, this one a slightly taller canine. Her school uniform was a bit more ruffled than Fawn's, the top two buttons undone on the blouse at the moment. The canine was almost a patchwork of spots, red and brown and a few colors in between dotting her black fur coat. She wasn't an overly muscled girl, but the canine still held some power in her as a pair of semi-buff biceps showed off at the cuffs of her blouse. It took the feline a few moments to notice the canine's joining her, coming as an obvious surprise by her reaction "Oh, Athena, h-hiya!" She spoke up a bit nervously.
After all, this is one of the most popular girls in school. Why was she sitting next to me?
"Hello Fawn. How are you?" Athena turned a polite little smile to the feline's gaze as a stunned look crossed over Fawn's features.
She knew my name! How did someone like her know some little insignificant kitty like me?
"I'm okay." Fawn finally managed to squeak out, almost cowering down in her seat now, the whole reaction apparently pleasing the canine as Athena had a little smile on her muzzle while regarding the feline "Good. I was wandering past you and your friends in the hallway earlier, didn't you say you were going to the Blue Carpet tonight?"
"Y-y-yes, we...we were planning to..." Fawn stuttered out once more, the feline still curled up in the sheer terror talking to someone so popular poured into her.
"I was actually thinking of going tonight myself. Maybe I'll see you there." Athena replied with a soft hint of something there in her voice. The feline caught it with a twitch of her ears, but she couldn't quite place it. She didn't exactly have time to either as her thoughts raced.
See me there? She actually sounded like she meant it!
Footsteps echoed in the stairwell as Fawn raced up the floors towards her apartment, running a paw along the railing, her tail swishing behind her as her movements sent her skirt waving about with each step. She hardly minded, no other furs there to see that display as she climbed up to the tenth floor, pushing the stairwell door open and running through the hallway. She nearly toppled a feline pair as she rounded the corner, calling out her apologies as she ran onwards down to the door at the hallway's end. One paw dipping into a pocket of her skirt, she fumbled around a bit before pulling out her keys and unlocking the door, pushing it open before giving it a shove shut behind her.
"And why are you in such a hurry?" A gray-furred feline spoke from the small kitchen of the apartment, the area connected openly to the living room as Fawn dashed through and into the bedroom, calling back out to him "I've gotta get to the bus so I'm not late meeting my friends tonight!"
That's my brother, Toma. He's almost ten years older than me, and has taken care of me ever since our parents died. He's a bother sometimes, but he's still a pretty cool brother.
Toma was a rather tall feline, a few inches above six feet, a rather stark contrast to the tiny white feline. He holds a very business-like atmosphere to him, enhanced by the black and smooth slacks he has on, the white, long-sleeved button-up shirt tucked into it. The cuffs of said garment reach perfectly to the bottom of his paws, the shirt left unbuttoned for the time being though, showing off the faint tone of his gray chest. His head fur is kept short and uniform as well as being kept meticulously clean. A pair of small silver-rimmed glasses sat on his short muzzle, indigo eyes behind the eyewear sharp and observant.
Toma had been busying himself in the kitchen for the past hour prior to his sister's predictably late arrival, working on cooking "Well you're going to have to be late, I've got dinner almost ready-"
"No time big brother, I've gotta meet them on time! I'll eat there, save me some leftovers for later!" Fawn called out, tossing her backpack onto the bed before pulling on a blue zipping up sweatshirt jacket, not even bothering to zip it up as she dashed back from the bedroom, pausing at the kitchen to hop up and give Toma a kiss on the cheek "I'll be back later tonight!" Before he could even object, she was back out the door. Toma gave a little sigh after the door shut, turning back to the oven.
