#1 of Friends Like These

Welcome to the madhouse. With Friends like these who needs enemies?

It almost seemed not just a match made in heaven but one that worked out. Snowball was a husky living in a small town having moved away from home where he lived in a small bungalow with his best mate, Ace and his girlfriend, Naomi. they were all good friends in high school with his next door neighbor, friend Kenji and his sister liced in the same small town but in their own place.

Ace and Naomi agreed to help with the rent on the house and bills with only one stipulation. Snowball got the master bedroom and bath because of having to use an arm crutchl. But it was a benefit for everyone. Well that night Ace, Naomi, Chessie and Snowball were sitting on the couch watching a movie when Shemoni, Snowballs sister burst in through the front door and wandered into the back where the living room was.

"It's so good to know that I gave you the entry key to the door FOR EMERGENCIES." Snowball said with out looking up, "Pretty sure your bad hair day isn't one one them." "Oh ha ha big bro. No I came home from work early and caught my husband in bed...." "Oh No," Snowball interrupted, "not bed whatever willl we do?!" he remarked sarcastically. Shemoni rolled her eyes, "With his secretary doofus." The room grew silent as the sarcasm left Snowball's mouth, "Oh jeez are you going to be okay?" "I don't know, Nate, I just don't know. Everything I've built in life he's torn down in one go. I want to forgive his transgressions but how long has this been going on?" Shemoni said actually using Snowballs real name. Snowball got up holding on to his arm crutch as he hobbled over to where Shemoni was standing.

He hugged his sister and said, "I don't know what the right course of action is, therapy, counciling or worse divorce. What I do know his this is a safe haven. Stay the night, you can have the couch and take some time to breathe and rationally think it out. I got your back no matter your choice, in fact we all do." The group nodded in agreement. "I- that is to say , I-if you don't think I'd be a problem." she said. "Nope," Ace chimed in, "You're our family and friend and no one here is going to turn their bacck on you." "Shemoni I took a beating as a kid to keep dad off you. I did it because I loved you than and I'm doing this because I love you now."

what I don't get," Naomi said, "I thought his secratary was a lesbian." "Sometimes I wish I was a lesbian." Ace said. Everyone turned their heads to look at him "Oh did I say that out loud?" he said.

"Well if you guys insist..." Shemoni said. "Get some rest tonight and we'll head over tommorrow and collect your stuff if you want. "Snowball said. She just nodded her head as she sat down on the couch next to Chessie as Snowball hobbled over to the otherside of Chessie and sat back down unpausing the movie. Ace drove Chessie back to her place after the movie. It was a wild end to the day but after all Snowball knew this was beyond him. Shemoni had to make a decision; hold on or let go. At bare mimnimum he'd be the one holding the net that caught her if she chose to let go.

It was overall a quiet night aside from the stray thunderstorm that everyone slept through. Around 6 am Snowball got up and stumbled into the kitchen to set the coffee maker and make the coffee. The noise must have started Shemoni awake as she sat up on the couch and rubbed sleep from her eyes. "Sorry about that, sis. Sleep well?" Shemoni groggily reached over to put her glasses on, "As well as anyone can on a couch." "Feeling any better?" he asked her. "Sort of. Despite him blowing my phone up. Had to shut it off last night so I could get some rest." "Come to a deecsion yet?" Snowball asked sitting down at the table with his coffee and sliding a full mug towards Shemoni as she sat down. "I still don't know. I mean i tried to outweigh the pro's and cons of walking away and even than I'm a licensed marriage councsular. I'd sppend my time helping other work through these problems. I"d be a hypocrite if I walked away. I could really use some advice right about now." Snowball sighed taking a drink as he set his mug down, "I am the last person that should be gibing advise but the fact is he was balls deep in her tail when you walked in on them. He violated the sanctity of your vows and marriage. Shemoni you deserve so much better and more. Some relationships can't be saved. You wouldn't be a hyppcrite. You two are clearly not salvagable or compatable."

"Shemoni sipped her coffee as she said, "Don't beat yourself up to hard, you've given me a lot to think about. Maybe you are right and this was never meant to last and if anything I'd be puttinga band-aid on the problem rather that fix the problem." "I can't make a decsion for you. THat has to be on you. But at least search your heart and feelings and I'm sure you'll make the right choice." he said. "I suppose you're right. Maybe I'm over analyzing this instead of focusing on the real problem which his the fact I caught him rocking with his cock out." She said.

It was that moment Ace stumbled out of their room and went to the coffee pot to fill his musg, "Brain no workie coffee without." he said "Ace tou're brain is always in a constant state of fogginess. THere isn't enough caffiene in the world to fix you>" Snowball said and all three of them burst out laughing. "touche, bro, touche." he said swigging his coffeee. "So have you decided what to to going fowards Shemoni?" he asked her. "Nate and I were just dicussing that and to be honest I don't see this relationship repairing and going anywhere. If I did fix it whose to say he wont do this again." "For what it's worth." Ace said, "Most people do this again and again becsause it's a thrill their addicted to. I can't see you staying with someone who has that kind of addiction. He's got a diesease. This is a real mental disorder. And unless he helps himself there really is nothing you can do." "I guess you're both right," Shemoni said sighing deeply. "Bother can you help me go back and gather my things up. I think I'm going to stay here while I file the divorce papers and get back on my feet." she said. "Just have to ask. Yeah I'll help you." Snowball said. "I can help Nate with that." Ace chimed in. Snowball rolled his eyes at Ace, "Only my sister gets to use my real name Cooper." He put emphasis on the name Cooper in a sarcastic tone. "Dude I prefer Ace and you know it." "Well good, now we're even." Snowball said. "Touche." Said Ace sounding defeated.

Later that morning after Breakfast the four of them, Naomi tagging along to help. piled into Snowballs Trac as they drove over to Shemoni's house. Once there they got out and walked into the empty house as they started packing up Shemoni's few posessions and piling them into Snowball's vehicle. It took them an hour at most. SHemoni wrote a note and left her house key on the kitchen counter before she walked out closing the door behind her and climbing insie the Trac. "Drive. I ddon't ever want to see this tainted place again." Shemoni said. "You got it" As Snowball shifted into gear and peeled out. Just as he was exiting the driveway, Her soon to be ex husband pulled in in his expeensive BMW. Not knowing Shemoni was inside, he recognized her brothers vehicle but did nothing knowing he wouldn't keep up with that thing. See Snowball swapped a mustangs, hevially modfieid mind you, engine into his Trac yeas ago and her husband new his BMW couldn't keep up with it. When they all got back home Snowball pulled into the grarage and they all got out and started unloading. When entering the house Snowball opened the door to his office and said "you can take this room and we'll figure your part of the bills later. "

Inside the office was an L shaped bunk. The lower bunk was a futon couch and below the top bunk was a computer sesk with a Razer gaming chair. "You still have our old bunk beds?!" Shemoni exclaimed. "Had To. It made for a good couch and desk combination. I'll move my stuff out and you can use the bunks and gaming chair. Welcome home." Snowball said setting down the stuff in his hand and walked to the living room. It had been a long day and despite the stuff Shemoni had on the bedroom floor she collapsed on the futon couch, giving out a sigh of reliref knowing that the next few step she would have to take would be very scary and hard ones. But after all that's why friends are there. And they cleatly reminded her why they were her friends and that when things got horrid they would still be there to help her when needed. At least for now she had housing and it would give her time to deal with getting divorce papers filied and get back on her feet.
