Chapter 2-2
[Yea, twists and turns. not a bad thing though. it should be easy to tell what happened. i wont give it away if noone does see what happened xD]
Thanks to my natural habit of thinking way to much on something i didnt even realize the sharp pinch that came to my neck, nor did i notice the world go dark and my body fall to the ground. It was always odd how much i tended to sleep or see the "darkness" but i couldnt help it, just one of those things in life that some people have a hard time avoiding.
I mumbled quietly to myself, unsure what i had said or what i was thinking but i think i heard "eggs" come out of the mumbling. Before i could think on it more i felt someone shaking me and heard a female voice. My eyes opened slightly before i blinked and stared at the female that was there. I felt like i knew her. She was a canine. That was about all i knew and could tell. She shook me again. "Rykel, get up!! You're going to be late for guard duty again..." I blinked once again. guard duty? i didnt recall anything like that, matter of fact i was finding it hard to remember much of anything, maybe i just had alot on my mind. I shook my head and yawned before throwing the covers off myself and starting to get up.
If felt weird to see my surroundings. it felt like something was out of place, yet at the same time a small part of my mind told me it was "natural." i shook my head one more time and turned to look at the canine near the entrance to the tent that i had awoke in. "I don't remember having guard duty today..." I stared at her a moment, she must have figured i had forgotten her name because she picked my sentance up where i had dropped it "What is it with you and forgetting my name rykel?! weve been partners for almost three months now, i bet you dont even remember my birthday!" partners? birthday? i hadnt a clue what was going on but i could feel my face getting hot as i realized that not only did i not remember being this creatures "partner" i also didnt know her birthday. all i could manage was a "umm..." she growled and turned around quickly vanishing back out the tent, leaving me there still stunned and feeling highly pitiful about my lack of memory
I remained where i was for a few moments before sighing and getting up. A quick glance around the room would bring to sight a pair of metal leggings, boots, gauntlets, a helmet, shoulder pads, and chest armor. all of it metal and looking very heavy. was it mine? another quick glance around the room wouldnt really answer my question considering it was a small tend but since i didnt see any other armor laying around i walked towards the area where the armor was, grabbing it and starting with the boots, i put it all on quickly/ putting the armor on had felt like walking. it was natural for a reason beyond me but with the word "guard duty" coming to mind i figured that i wore the armor all the time. the armor did have a kind of tarnished and worn look.
Suited up and ready for duty i walked out of the tent and looked around. I could smell cooking meat and burning wood. I was apparently in some kind of camp. Next to seeing that it was a camp nothing else really came to mind, except for the fact that the sun was peeking over the horizon. Morning guard duty i guessed. I looked around before seeing a creature waving to me. i walked to it, noting that it was a kind of feline, yet again i got the feeling that i knew this creature, yet no name came to mind when i stared into her face. i shook my head and watched her a moment before she spoke and pointed towards a large tent "Rykel, you are to go relieve raven from guard duty." before i could ask her who raven was she sighed and rolled her eyes before turning her head towards the tent she was pointing at, two large raptors stood there, one wearing bladed gauntlets, the other some kind of large onject, my guess was that it was a weapon. She was pointing towards the one with the gauntlets and i nodded then headed towards the tent. I couldnt help but get a large sense of dejavu. this all seemed, familiar. yet i also had the feeling i hadnt been here before. a small part of me felt the dejavu so bad that i wanted to throw up yet another part felt the dejavu and couldnt help thinking "home." i shook my head and stood in front of raven before nodding my head. he nodded in return and moved away from his post silently. i was curious how long i would be on duty, it looked like it was going to be a beautiful day and a part of me didnt want to waste it standing guard all day. i was also hoping i would get the chance to go find my partner, no matter what. i had alot to make up for...
