This (very) short story is a bit risque, but purely in the "kids say the darnedest things" context. Discretion is still advised.

Setting: approx. seven years after the events in "Fun Over The Kitchen Sink".

So, one day while at work, I got a call at my desk phone, and recognized the number as being from Darron Jr.'s school. I picked it up and said, "Hello?"

A sweet, young female voice was on the other line. "Hi, is this Darron Boreas, Sr.?"

Admittedly, I was a bit worried at getting a call from my son's elementary school in the middle of the day. "Speaking. Who is this?"

"Okay. This is Molly Tremblay of Willamette Elementary School," she replied. "I was calling about your son, Darron Jr."

"He's not hurt or in trouble, is he?" I responded.

"No, he's not in trouble, academically or behaviorally. But he just said something that I felt I need to share with you right away. It seems he has the wrong idea about something."

"And that is..." This was about to take a weird turn. I could feel it.

"Well, one of the conversations today turned to where babies come from, and I asked the kids for opinions. Darron Jr. raised his hand rather confidently, so I called him, and his answer was, 'from Santa Claus!'

"I asked him, 'Darron, what makes you think babies come from Santa Claus?'

"He answered, 'Well, I remember when I was two, I crawled down the stairs on Christmas Eve, and I saw Santa, and he was doing something funny to Mommy. And nine months later, she had my brother, Joey!

"'Then, just last Christmas Eve, I went down the stairs to try to see Santa again, and he was doing something funny to Mommy again. And just a month ago, she had my little sister, Emily!'

"After that, he started to look a bit forlorn, so later, I asked him what was a matter. He told me, 'I don't think I'm really Joey and Emily's brother.'

"I asked him, 'aww, What makes you think that?' You'll never believe what he told me.

"'Because both of them were born in late September, but I was born in July. And there's no way Santa would've given me to Mommy in October.'"
