Stormkiller was sitting there dressed in his white shirt and black pants on the stairs leading to the pit. But as soon as he spotted his sister they then go off and play. "They are great kids!!!", Stormkiller said with a smile. "Why not your a great father", Vixen adds. As Stormkiller motions to Vixen to sit down next to him she says, "I wonder were you went, the entire town has been asking for you". "It just got too crowded, I needed a place to be alone to think"; "We certainly had a lot of weddings this year, according to Father Donovan this was the 58th one this year alone, and it's not even mid Summer. But at least finally Gordon Rivers is married to Roxie Marshall". "No it isn't that", Stormkiller said. "It's just all that happened to us since we hooked up 7 years ago, around this time of year I think". As Vixen snuggles closer, "You were certainly something unexpected, but I have not have had a single regret ever since". "Me too".

"Remember this fortress when we first arrived here, I was scared", Stormkiller now admits. "But you did not hesitate for one second to come to save the ones here and in that dungeon. Then on top of that to give the call when those warriors came. You more than saved the day for everyone here more than once", Vixen said. "Too bad your parents weren't in Long Bow when we finally came there much later on with David", "But thankfully, they were with my cousins in Bear Harbor". "But we did not know that until we began looking for seeds", Stormkiller adds. "Which reminds me...I don't know if I should still be mad at you for putting your life at risk", she then gave him a rather hard punch in the arm. Stormkiller only acted that it meant nothing.

"Okay I admit it was a dumb idea, but you know it did not start out that way. We just got info about those Vengeance Warriors". "Which you forced out of that man", Vixen adds. "But it was a grand adventure", Stormkiller said with a smile. "You know we tried to convince Shaun to stay here, but he wouldn't listen", "It's a good thing too considering how things turned out", "I still do not understand why that warrior that was in that cell, killed himself once you returned", Vixen admits. "I figured it had to do with me just about wiping them out", Stormkiller said. "But on a happier note, what gets me is that panda you saved turned out to be a Prince!?", Vixen exclaims.

"But that Bam-bo was really a Prince of a guy", Stormkiller said. "He not only gave us more than enough seeds to help prevent starvation, but set up schools for everyone. He even started up our very 1st theater. You know I miss them". "They did come back with Shaun nearly 2 years ago, Bam-bo did say he would return this year", Vixen said. "Can you imagine he learned our language just so we could know each other better, then to find out Shaun is now apart of the Royal Guard of Karma", Stormkiller said. "I still have a hard time believing that, and for his brother Gus, now Head of River Bends Defense Force. Then there Vengeance Warriors you took care of", Vixen said. "Believe me, I was never so scared in my life as I waited there, but when I saw that patrol I felt I had no choice but to light that fuse, then I ran for my life". "I forgot they renamed the Kegross mountains after that", then Stormkiller interrupts, "They now are called Stormkiller Hills". Then Vixen continues, "Your the top man alright, not a sign of those warriors for years...until recently", Vixen said.

"I know I wish we did not have to go, I got this feeling", Stormkiller admits. "Every fur in River Bend has that feeling..including me but we have no choice. Great Timber has asked David to take over as Mayor there. After all he does have the experience, and we have to go Mayor Stormkiller". "I can't believe that". "But you seen the vote, it was unanimous. There was not one single human and fur who did not want you as our new Mayor. Besides it's proof to those in Great Timber we have been getting along so well", Vixen said. "I just wish you and the kids did not have to go"; "But once again we have no choice, besides we are also taking along at least 20 of our own guards as protection. Also could we at least teach the kids how to fish, after all there is a lake on our route", Stormkiller said. "We will see".

Suddenly Stormkiller seemed rather reluctant to say, "Honey, I don't want to be mayor, lets just go back to that cabin of yours where it can be just us and the kids". Equally sudden Vixen gave her husband a rather stern look, "Your mayor now there are many people and furs counting on you to lead them, and I am going to make sure you don't run out on this".

As Vixen goes on, David suddenly arrived on the scene saying, "There you all are", Vixen looked back saying, "When my husband chickened out, and we had to look for him, which he will not do ever again". "Any way I am glad both of you are here, Harry just got back from Great Timber", David said as he sat down to join them. "That's good, he and Gordon are great friends I was hoping he wasn't going to miss his best friend's wedding", Vixen adds. David seemed to have more than just a wedding on his mind, "It's not that, it turned out Great Timber is more in trouble that we first thought. The furs won't cooperate with the humans and vise versa. They are living practically wild, taking what they want from the humans who live there". "Oh come on, it can't be that bad", Vixen exclaimed. "It is only worse, the humans have armed themselves threatening to kill any fur that steals, a farm animal, fruit, or anything else", David said. "Now what do the furs say", Stormkiller insists. "Nothing they refuse to even talk to Harry, and they even threatened to kill him if he even ventured in to the part of Great Timber they took for themselves", David said. "Surely there must have been something that started this mess?", Vixen wonders. "That is for you 2 to find out", David replied. Meanwhile all Stormkiller did was roll his eyes, wondering what kind of mess did they get themselves involved in.

The next day was the day they started this 6 day journey to Great Timber. There were plenty of fond farewells, as the wagon which was to carry there supplies was nearly finish loading. Gus gathered the guard for the journey, since no one here could make new armor the troops, which were made up of both furs and humans) wore a mixture of both Roman and Vengeance Warrior armor. Gus did have one thing to say to them before they were to leave, "We are heading to Great Timber today many of you know the way well and have friends there. But it is also a fortress in trouble it seems there are trouble between the furs and humans. Each side may try and convert you to their side. But remember your loyalty, many of you are friends and family and it doesn't matter if you have fur or skin we are brothers, sworn to protect each other and those who live here in River Bend. It is also a place where Vengeance Warriors have been sighted in the surrounding region, we do not know there number and I know that surprises you. It seems both David and Stormkiller both agree there sudden appearance after so many years may stem from the problems in Great Timber, so protect yourself and your friends. Also given this fact, it has been decided that no Vengeance warrior would be killed on sight, only captured whenever possible. That is why you all have been given a length of rope, there are more of these ropes in the wagon. But also keep in mind since many of you are wearing their armor, if you see somebody you do not know who approaches you. Disarm them first, then take them prisoner, we don't want anyone getting hurt. We will get there story afterwards.

I know some of you have already complained about the horse issue, as you know until we establish trade routes with towns, villages, fortresses, etc. with horses they will always be in short supply. That is why we are only taking 2, and they are only there to pull the wagon. Once again I find myself forced to repeat the only ones that can ride in the wagon, are Stormkiller's and Vixen's children due to there age and anyone who gets sick or injured on the way there. We can not over stress the horse".

Finally all was ready, Stormkiller wished everyone gathered there well wishes and they were finally on there way. For the first few days there was no problems, in fact that is what allowed them to to head to the lake. It was called Closet Lake, even though there were jokes about calling it 'Stormkiller Lake'. But anyway it was a good place for everyone to relax, maybe fish or take a swim. But Stormkiller used this time to teach his young son how to fish the fur way. That was in the nude, while waiting for a fish to come near and catching it with their hands...or at least tossing it out of the water. The others had no problems, but not for poor Baron, he scared more fish than he caught.

It was as the others started to cook what they caught, that a frustrated Baron finally caught one...it was slightly smaller than his hand...but he was so proud.

That was when the problems started, when Baron said, "Dad, I really don't get it, are we furs or not. Why do we have to wear clothes like people". That was when his mother insisted, "It's just the way it is, get dress Baron now". "Mom, I am just too hot", Baron adds. But when the other furs started to get in to this Stormkiller says to everyone, "We don't need any more problems, look for now he can go without them it really doesn't make that much of a difference". Vixen then gave her husband a rather stern look, then he told her, "You used to not mind when we 1st met, I did not wear anything for nearly a year after. Look I'll talk to him later about it...please can you just let this go for now". Reluctantly Vixen agreed, only adding, "You are going to get yours for this!".

Other than there son acting more and more like a wild animal, especially the way he was marking there trail. Stormkiller felt as if Vixen was wanting punch his lights out, it seemed to him the more they walked the more she was getting mad at him, but luckily it was just over a days journey to Great Timber from the lake. Meanwhile he could see Baron was having fun, chasing birds, small animals such as chipmunks, rabbits and squirrels. He and some of the other furs were seeing Baron was honing his hunting skills. Which his father wanted to teach him, for at least the past 2 years, but every time Vixen said NO!

But if that wasn't enough, with Great Timber being more than a half days travel, they suddenly ran in to 2 people dressed as Vengeance Warriors, when they were brought back to Stormkiller and David they instantly recognized them, "Why that is Miller Harwicke, and Simon Gravel both of Great Timber", they said. But when they were questioned all they would say is, "Bloody furs, they all should be slaves of us people". That to say the least shocked Stormkiller after all both of them had eaten at both of their homes. But David felt it was best to gag the pair of them rather to spark any anger". "What the hell is going on?!" Stormkiller shouted. But no one had an answer.

Great Timber, was like River Bend in a way, it was a mega fortress. With 12 foot thick walls that were at least 20 feet high, which had slots so archers would have no problem slaughterung any attacking enemy. With a town at it's center to support the people and soldiers who live there.

Finally they where outside the gates of Great Timber, for Stormkiller and Vixen were not the only ones with a feeling of deja vu. The gate were wide open and left unguarded. But as they went through the gate. This one man came running towards them, calling himself Taylor started out screaming, "You dirty furs let them go", David tried to calm the issue, "No need for those words, my name is David Muller, I was invited here". "You and the other people can stay...but as for those furs they have there own section...I suggest they head there...NOW!!!", Taylor said. "But this is Stormkiller, Mayor of River Bend, and that is his family", David tried to say before he was shot down with those words, "Bloody cock sucking furs". Frankly Vixen and the other furs were shocked, even some of the people that came with them could be counted in their number.

So the 3 of them David, Stormkiller and Gus stood in a circle and talked, "I think me and my troops better stay by the gate...we may need to take a quick exit". "I'll talk to this Taylor, to see if we can use there corral and they to find out there side, while you see what you can find out with the furs", David said. "I'll see what I can find out, and we all meet back up here later. Just before sunset, would that be fine with the rest of you", Stormkiller said. They quickly agreed, then he turned to Vixen, who frankly right now wasn't speaking to him. Then she said something to Gus, who shouted back, "Vixen and Willow are staying with us, we are setting up there tent in the courtyard". Meanwhile as Stormkiller looked for his son, it was Taylor who noticed where he ran off to, "If your looking for that little beast, he ran off to the cock sucker side of town". For the first time in a long time he felt like ripping someone's head off expect he had to find his son first.

Stormkiller was a excellent tracker, he had no problem finding his son. He found him playing with this female wolf of roughly the same age. He wondered if this was a cruel trick she was only in her fur like all the other furs around them seemed to be. But when one of them, this male wolf spotted Stormkiller they stopped him dead in his tracks. Saying no less, "You are not a true fur when you dress like a man". "But I need to get my 6 year old son Baron, I see him playing with that girl, and he is right over there". "But not like you are, be a true fur and you can enter, stay like you are and you must leave without your child". 'Has the whole world gone mad', he wondered to himself. Feeling he had no choice, Stormkiller did as they asked. Once his clothes had been placed in a nearby empty building, he returned only in his fur. He was and once again he was challenged by the very same wolf, "I did what you asked". That wolf's reply, "Children as free to leave and go at will. Adults like you who have violated the rights of the wild ones must be apart of the whole to be one of us". "Huh!?", "You must mate with a lower rank female to enter". "But I am married, with 2 kids". "Human marriages mean nothing to us, only that she is your mate that is all, and one you will be bonded with forever. But since neither of you 2 are apart of us, you must mate in the circle". Which in short meant he had to fuck this female wolf while others watched. "But I also need to speak with your leader", Stormkiller insisted. "The circle or nothing", the wolf insisted. He reluctantly agreed.

Being married as he had been for a while, Stormkiller had fallen in to the ways of human. Meaning dressing, mating in private and the using of tools to go hunting. But to be around wolves like days long ago, made him feel more natural, less domesticated. Especially after seeing that female wolf who was obvious to him just came of age, and was in season. Speaking of a deer, a 7 point buck was suddenly dragged in, that was when that same male wolf who stopped him earlier shouted to him and Baron, "Time to eat, the one in the inner circle and his spawn goes first". That was when father turned to son and says, "You want to live wild, it means eating raw meat. I am ready are you?" Baron seemed extremely happy until he came up to the carcass of the deer, which appeared it had been taken down by tooth and claw. Baron wasn't the only one who almost did not know what to do. That was when his father got down on his knees and went right in with his teeth and tore in the it's hindquarters, as the blood that remained in the flesh spilled out. The one of them called out "Are you wild or tame". Baron seemed quite reluctant, in going the next step. "You can have my spot, I like the neck much better. Baron was hesitant as he finally got down on his knees to the spot his father started. Stormkiller could see his sons reluctance, and quickly rejoined him. "I know this is new to you, after all I should of not listened to your mother. Your hunting skills would be as sharp as mine are by now. Son take a finger and stick it in to the opening I made, get some of it's blood on it. Then taste it, his father was almost relieved that he did not like the taste of raw meat at first. But when Baron saw his playmate dive her head right in, Baron moved in next to her and joined in the feast.

Covered in the deers blood Flutter says after the deer was more bones than anything else, "If you want to see our leader follow me". They were then escorted pass several building to an area where buildings were in ruin, burned down, torn down it was hard to say. But was more important there stood several furs, he could roughly see 9 of them. Including at least 3 wolves all female, 2 foxes, 1 male and a female, then lastly 4 otters, 1 male and, 3 females. They all were seemly watching over their pups 10 children of various ages. The youngest still a totter, the oldest 12 maybe he was unsure. To what they were they were a reflection of those watching over them. Baron instantly ran towards the kids to play, while his father sought out who was ever running this mess.

Feeling a straight forward reply was needed he just stood nearby and says, "The name is Stormkiller, I am a leader from River Rend I need to speak to your leader". That was when this male otter stood there right before him saying, "The name is Surf, I am the chosen leader I seen you been through my little arranged introduction to the wild". Already, Stormkiller did not like that man. "I violated the trust of my wife, while me and my son are running wild. I just want to know what the hell is going on here". "I know of you and your rep. I could not challenged you to any sort of fight and win, I am not that stupid. But you lost who your are deep inside", that was when Surf pointed at his hairy chest. "What do you mean I lost what I am, I came here to find out what are causing all this friction you have with the humans", Stormkiller wonders. "I knew it, you just don't get it"

"Huh?!"

"Look, your a male wolf and should be free. Your young, strong and it is all I can do to keep the females here from wanting to be with you"

"But I am married"

"You still don't get it, civilization tamed you and every fur where humans can be found. You live like them, you dress like them, in fact your human save for the fur on your back".

Finally Stormkiller got it...

"The human here got on our case, because we want to live like all furs should, free and unclothed. We mate where we what, with whom we want. We are no bound by jobs, responsibility, or all we can own. We simply live free, and the humans just don't get it. They want us to be like them, in every way", Surf said. "But what about the stories about you stealing farm animals, fruits, whatever", Stormkiller wonders. "We tried trading wild game, fish whatever for what they have...and they refused. So they swear at us, throw mud at us. All for the fact we refused to be like them". That was when of the female otters came up from behind Stormkiller, wrapped an arm around him and kissed him on the cheek. "See I tell no lie, look at your young son have you ever seen him so happy". He refused to answer because he knew it was true. "Then look at yourself, free and unbound", that was when that female otter tried to get close until he refused her advances. Surf then signaled for her to stay. "I know your fears, I know your problems would you not like to be free", Stormkiller stood there motionless. Because he wondered that himself, Surf then added this, "You do not want the job as leader of River Bend, you fear you do not have what it takes to be Mayor, The truth is the only reason you want the job is because of your mate. The truth is for sometime now since there was no sign of those hated warriors, you have been wanting to move back to the cabin of your happier days", It seemed Stormkiller wanted to ask a question, but Surf already knew the answer. "There is a small band of Vengeance Warriors not 2 days from here to the south east, there is no more than 28 in total number, Go ahead kill them all, but you will not be happy only sealing your own fate human".

Stormkiller than raised both hands to his face and seemly was crying, The truth be known he had been secretly unhappy for quite a few years. "Coral, take care of him:", Surf said. "We will watch your son, he will be safe". That was when Coral took Stormkiller out of sight to his son. Meanwhile Baron, comes up Surf and asks, "What is wrong with dad?", Surf replies, "He just needs a good cry, I think Baron you just saved your fathers life".

Surf then signaled to Taurin, the male fox who was playing with his daughter, Once he finally saw that signal he comes up to Surf and asks, "What do you need?", "There is a female fox up near the main gate, her name is Vixen. In her company is the sister of Baron one who is called Willow, I suggest you take him with you, I like to speak with her". "Very well Surf, Maple, Baron want to see your mother", Taurin said. Baron was the 1st to run up saying, "I want momma to be happy as daddy will be". Surf then comes up to Baron runs his head while saying, "If only we can convince her".

A short time later near the main gate Vixen is fuming, "I worked long and hard to make that wild man civilized, then in one journey that will secure his rule as mayor it all disappears like his clothes". Gus who was standing nearby trues to say, "Why I let....". Before Vixen interrupts, "I did nor ask for you to get involved what is a private matter. In other words stay the fuck out of my business!!!". Then she catches site of a very naked Baron, "Come her Baron and get some clothes on!!!", but instead he runs back towards the direction of the furs. With her attention drew elsewhere Willow catches site of Maple , who is motioning for Willow to come so they can play. But when Vixen turns to get maybe one of the guards to help Willow quickly runs past her and disappears. Right now Vixen is more pissed off than ever, "Baron, Willow come here now or I'll tan your hides!!!".

But all Vixen ever finds is Willow's dress, and a little later on Taurin, "I want my daughter, and you will not stop me". "Maybe not me but there are others that will, why not let her have her fun. She will be returned by sunset. For no little girl should be without her mother during the hours of darkness", Taurin said. "You a nut", the Vixen tried to force her way through. "I have a daughter of my own, her name is Maple. The last time I seen Willow, her and Maple had become fast friends", Taurin said. Vixen could not believe what she was hearing, she stood her ground, "How can you live like this, no home, no clothes, nothing". "I used to be like you, my father was the Mayor of Long Bow. But when the crystals appeared and later the Human Market I had no choice but to leave, looking for what power I could gain in the next town, the next village...", Taurin said. "Your name wouldn't happen to be Taurin Longrove, wouldn't it", Vixen wondered. "It's use to be, it's just plain Taurin now".

Pointing to herself, "I am Vixen Fox". "Oh I remember you!!!!!, Your lust for power is only matched by the Vengeance Warriors. The reason you only wanted to marry me was because my father was the mayor, and you knew he was grooming me to take over the job once he retired. You only cared about what power you could gain for yourself. No wonder Stormkiller is such a wreck". "I bet that man of mine is fucking every bitch he sees, and I am going to kill him!!!", "If you must know, he has been crying for most of the time he had been with us. You turned the hero of River Bend in to a broken man, I am not sure if he could ever return to River Bend or let alone be the Mayor there. Look Vixen, if you really love him. Take off your clothes and join us, our leader Surf would very much like to speak with you". "I would not go any where near that nut, why do you follow him anyway?!", Vixen said. "He saved us all in our own way, Surf is quite persuasive, but he has never lied to any of us...not even once". Then as Vixen started to leave, "Make sure Willow gets returned by sunset or I am sending in the guard...I did love Storm once, but don't know now".

By the time Vixen returned to the main gate, "I wonder where Gus is". She then asks around and finds out, he had been gone for sometime.

Surf had just left seeing Stormkiller, and it just left him shaking his head, when he ran in to Gus sans everything. "So how is Storm? He wonders. " "I am glad your here, he is with Coral. Storm has stopped crying but that isn't saying much. Coral thinks he never quite got over his time as a slave. Then his marriage problems on top of that...frankly has put him over the edge". "I knew Storm had problems, that is why I told you...but I never imagined it was this bad". "Will you walk with me, Breeze tells me my son needs me", Surf said. "Sure, but do you think he be okay around his son?" Gus wonders. "I see no problems, I think in a little while Storm is going to need his son more than ever", Surf said. "Then there is what Taurin told me about Vixen, and that she is ready to walk out on their marriage". "I don't know much about her earlier life other than she acted like an innocent party while she lived in Long Bow". "I wish I could say it was true for Storm and Baron's sake, and not that she always sought out power. If not directly, definitely second hand, although it can not be proved there are some who say she gave or sold the black crystals in Long Bow just so she have power over the owners lives, and only left town when things went out of control". Gus was shocked, "Does Storm knows this?!". "Like I said this is mainly rumor, but he could not handle this news right now and I don't want you to tell him. He has enough problems". "I agree".

"Then what about the meeting he was to have with David at sunset, and what do I tell him", Gus wonders. "Here is what you should tell him".

The sun was setting on Great Timber Vixen was pacing near the path towards the fur side of town. Meanwhile Gus was standing near his men waiting for David while the Guards were around some sitting others talking, none were wearing the body armor, while still others were waiting for a party to bring back some rabbits for their evening meal. Finally David comes toward Gus and Vixen finally sees Willow, who was saying, "Mommy I had some great fun today..."

"Gus, where is Storm", "He is busy gathering some more information but I have learned why the problems here, I also learned the location of the seemly last Vengeance Warriors to found any where". "That is Storm for you, so how many and where", "28 at Castle Rock, me and my men can easily take care of them. It seems only around 10 are not from here in Great Timber, they are gathering followers based upon the current problems". David was impressed, "Gee that's more than I found out from them, I could not even find out the reasons for the problems". But Gus had an answer already, "I know what that problem is, the furs here what to live like furs. Hunting, mating, whatever but they don't want to live like humans. Meaning no clothes, no modesty, no homes, nothing. In fact the only reason they are living here is because it's a safe place to live from wild predators, and the warriors themselves". "Gee...that is way more than I could ever find out...especially from them. Save this, it seems the only reason they wanted me, is because they thought I have a all human fighting force and they wanted all of us to drive the furs from this fortress ..and not that just over half my fighting force are furs and they are not going to attack there own kind...I think some has relations here", David said. "Including myself, my sister and both my parents", Gus adds. "I swear once this is all over I am going back to River bend to stay...but I am out of a job", David observes. "Not so fast, I doubt Storm is going to return with us", "I always thought him and Vixen could not be any happier". "Only in public as it seems, from my understanding Vixen is ready to live Storm right at this moment". "I think I better talk to her", David said. "That sounds like a good idea, I also want to tell you that me and my men will be leaving tomorrow morning to go after those Vengeance Warriors", "Do you think we need to leave any behind?" David asks. Gus reply, "Not from my information, besides the furs are more than ready to protect the town...if the humans won't". "I hope your not choosing sides in this matter", "No, just an observation". As David goes to talk to Vixen he wishes Gus and his men well.

Meanwhile the sun had nearly set, some where else in the fortress of Great Timber Stormkiller and his son Baron are laying on their backs looking up at the stars. "What happened to you dad",

They then spent the rest of the time until Baron fell a sleep talking about what they would do the next day.

It was well in to the night that Coral awoke Stormkiller, and quietly they made there was over to some where they could talk. "So how has it been with Baron", Coral wonders. "Marvelous, absolutely marvelous we haven't talked like this in a long time, maybe forever". "That's good, I was a bit concerned about that, so what your going to do tomorrow", "Fishing alone with my son, could you tell everyone if they don't see us for a few days we will be at Closet Lake...fishing, I am also going to teach my son how to survive in the wild. I knew I should of done this long ago, but that awful Vixen would not let me. I am finally going to do what I want to do". "That is truly wonderful".

That was when Stormkiller had something else on his mind, "I know what I said earlier about you and me going out and having a really fun time...after all there is so much you can show me". "Storm, listen to me. One thing I learned about living in the wild, family comes first...while romance and mating comes second", Coral said then kissed him on the cheek. "Then what about Willow, she is too innocent to be corrupted", Stormkiller said. "Don't worry we have friends in River Bend, if you can't be there, they already are. If they feel Willow is at risk or in danger, they will step in and word will get out to you faster than Vixen could react". But before he returned to his son, "Thanks, I just thought of something else, since I am now living a new life. My name is no longer Stormkiller, call me Storm from now on". "Your not the only one here with a new name, my birth name was Rosabelle Tilor MacGivinesss". "Good grief", "And good night", Coral said then blew him a kiss.

Late the next morning as the Guards prepared to leave, Willow just stood there near the main gate gazing back in the direction of her new friends, meanwhile Vixen says, "You go there, you won't be able to sit down for a week", upon hearing this at least 2 guards grabbed there swords but before they could react Gus stopped them. Finally David says to them, "I don't have any fine words to say to you other than be safe and when you return. I promise you leave, so you can visit family and friends, which I only learned last night some of you have here, and it will be for as long as you need".

That was when Herman, the so called Mayor of Great Timber started to scream at him, basically for what he said. Gus was glad to go like the rest of the Guard. But this scene was not unobserved Taurin kept watch at a distance.

It wasn't until the very next morning that Willow was asking her mother, "Why can't I see Maple?" "You just can't", "Then what about Baron and poppa?" "I said NO!". That was the voice of Taurin could be heard, "Why I can't see not". Vixen was expecting to see Taurin unclothed not standing there in her husband's clothes, closely followed by a little fox girl wearing one of Willow's dresses. "Sorry for the dress, but it was the only one I knew I could borrow". Vixen looked as if she was going to punch Vixen in the eye, until Maple came right up to her and asks, "Ma'am can I please play with Willow?". Vixen found it hard to say no, "Go ahead, I need to talk to your father...now". The 2 young girls gave each other a quick hug before they went off to play in the area by the main gate.

"Before you say anything, I want to say I am sorry for earlier. I know it was wrong just to be in my fur when it is uncomfortable for you. But Maple just insisted so much I figured I had to meet you half way and this is it", Taurin said. "I know this is a great effort on your part getting dressed after all. Your daughter can play with mine....what about her mother", Vixen said. "She is back there with the rest of us, we are not married but we are bound by Maple and she is such a wonderful kid", Taurin said hoping that Vixen would understand. But she didn't, "You mean the mother of that child, knowing lets her run around naked, with other naked furs around. She should have her child taken away from her...and you". "Vixen, I hoped you changed. But sadly your as mean and heartless as ever, and I could say something now that I know would hurt Maple and Willow, and you know what I mean", Taurin said. "...and you would be right".

Meanwhile David was just coming out of this house that the people of Great Timber let him use for his stay, when he saw Taurin and Vixen talking and instantly had this idea. So just wearing his pants he ran to the door of Herman, the town's mayor. Who when upon seeing Taurin was equally surprised, so grabbing his pants he put them on as he and David walked up to Taurin and Vixen who was also surprised by these half naked humans. "What is going on here", Vixen exclaimed. That was when Herman went right up to Taurin and asked him, "You did this for us?", his reply, "No I only did this for my daughter". "Which one is she?" "The one in yellow, I could introduce you to her", "No not right now, I never knew any of you had kids". "We have more or less the same number as yours", Taurin said and Herman seemed shocked by this news, "You mean you wanted the milk, and fruit for your kids?!" , "Yes and some of us who wanted some, it's like I told you before we are still willing to trade. We can offer wild game, fish, we even have knowledge of medicines that can cure everything form a wonky tummy to cure infections, and they all work", Taurin said. "Does it mean your all going to wear clothes?" Herman wonders. This time Vixen answered, "There is no way on earth that will ever happen". But Taurin added, "One of us will wear something, more or less what I am wearing to make the deal". Herman just thought about it for a moment before saying as he stuck his hand out, "You got a deal". That was when David exclaimed, "All this was over the furs wearing clothes?!!!" he then just stormed off in discuss.

It was late in the afternoon on a slightly overcast day 2 days later when Storm and Baron returned. As Baron was saying as they pass through the main gate, "That was amazing dad, did you see the fish I caught...it was really big", "I say it had to be at least 2 feet long", Storm adds. "I can't believe I caught something that big with just my hands", Baron said. Then just that instant Storm saw Vixen staring right at them both, "Speaking of big, your mother is waiting for us, Baron you just keep walking and let them know we are back", Storm said. But not before Baron asks, "You really meant what you said dad, that once mom is gone we can go back". Storm's reply, "As long as you want, now, run along".

Baron was trying to walk slow until he saw his sister who wanted to know what was up, and frankly Baron wanted to tell her until Vixen tried to make a grab for him and he started running. That was when both David and Storm stopped her, "Hey human get out of my business". "Vixen that is my son, I support the way he wants to live", Storm said. "And you are a freak!", Vixen shouts. "So are the rest of them". "Vixen, how dare you say such things", David felt insulted by that remark. "Your a freak too!!" Vixen shouts. Then suddenly Willow came up, "But mommy", she cried. "You stay out of this you little bastard". Poor Willow then started to cry, "Vixen clam down", David then insisted. "You can get fucked by old nature boy here" Vixen screamed. That was when David simply pointed to the gate and says, "I think its time for you to leave...NOW!!!" Shaking her body slightly Vixen then screams, "I'll leave when I am good fucking ready". "Vixen there is no need to this", Storm said.

With that Vixen the grabbed poor Willow and started to drag her out while she was crying, in fact Willow was so frighten that piss rained down her leg. Then David cried out, "Your not going to let this happen". That was when Storm felt he had no choice, then he ran up to Vixen grabbed her by the arm and forced her to turn around saying, "What are you doing". That is when she took a swing at Storm, her right cross landed right on Storm's chin and knocked him to the ground. This did not go unnoticed by the inhabitants of Great Timber.

Especially David who stood there right in front of Vixen saying, "What are you going to do knock me down as well". That was when Vixen screamed, "All right everybody has your way, keep the fucking bastard...see if I care. I hope you all drop stone cold dead". Then she stormed right out the gate, leaving a rather sore jawed Storm to tend to his crying child.

Then almost a miracle happened Surf who had been watching the entire scene came right up to David and says, "I think it's time we get to know each other, the name is Surf. I am the leader of the Furs here in Great Timber". A rather stunned David just held out his hand so Surf could shake it.

A short time later both Surf and David was sitting on a patch of grassy ground far within the fur section of Great Timber talking, of course David rather minded he had to be in the nude, but didn't seem to as Surf was explaining the reason behind their lifestyle, as David was saying, "Let me see if I got this right, you want to leave as little impact on this world as possible". "Exactly, for seemly as long as humans been around they made their mark on this world, but if we were to die out tomorrow no one would know if we were around, not unlike your humans...What better example could be than what the Romans did in Carthage, I don't think anything will ever grow there ever again", Surf said. "I am surprised by your knowledge", David said. "But I do have a question for you, how did you furs avoided all the problems the Roman caused to mankind". Surf replies, "Simple we just avoided them, hiding out without leaving any trace that we ever been there. It was only after the Roman civilization fell that some of us, started to adopt the ways of what we call humans. After all they left so much behind, it was natural for that to happen. Then that lead, to there involvement with the Vengeance Warriors and the rest you know". "I have one last question for you, you think we humans will ever learn to treat ourselves and this world any better", David wonders. Surf just smiled as he came to his feet saying, "I will personally escort you back to the courtyard". "But you didn't answer my question". "I hope you don't feel insulted by this, but my answer is no. I believe it will only get worse".

3 days later the Guards from River Bend returned to Great Timber, they were surprised to met by both Surf and David, along with quite a few of the people of Great Timber. David was first to talk to a human guard named Harrison who said, "You just won't believe what happened, I frankly don't". Other guards echoed the same response, referring that Gus their leader explain things. Then as the rest of them entered through the gates it seemed they had 17 prisoners, all men, all human and all naked with their hands bound behind their backs. That was when somebody got Herman, who knew all of the prisoners "Buddy, Skell, Gustav, Carol, what the hell is going on here!!!", frankly neither them or any of the other guards...even humans ones wanted to answer. Until Gus finally returned he went straight up to the wagon and started to remove his body armor after placing his sword and shield in the wagon. Frankly it was Surf who asked him, "What happened?", Gus after shaking his head replies, "No wonder none of them want to answer frankly it was the most embarrassing battle I have ever been. Men put your gear away, and go ahead have fun. As the guards did as they were ordered Gus continued, "You know we have been in a few battles against the Vengeance Warriors since we first formed the guard. So we were ready for a good hard fight even though we were out numbered 28 of them, 21 of us.

We first caught sight of them as one of them was getting some water for the rest of them from the river near Castle Rock. We sneaked up upon them to their campsite, readied ourselves for battle and attacked....I swear 1 of 3 things happened with these jokers...and I do mean jokers. They either did not even attempt to make a grab for their sword, dropped theirs when they spotted us, and lastly it was knocked out of their hands when we struck our first blow". "...and the rest of them", someone in crowd said. "They fought, but 21 vs. 10 it was a slaughter, they were quickly defeated. After which we were left with these jokers, I took it upon myself to remove there clothes, body armor in fact everything they were wearing and burned it right in front of them. We left their swords and shields there, if you want them you are going to have to get it yourself". Frankly Gus just wanted to see his family and was one of the first to completely remove his gear, "I want to see my family, now". Then he started to leave that was when Herman ran up to David and asked, "What about them?", his reply, "Do what ever you want with them, but be warned ever do anything so stupid again. You could wind up seriously dead". Then there friends and family started to release them.

But then another voice asked a single question, "What about number 28?", it came from Storm flanked by his 2 kids. Gus then came right up to him and answered him, "..it seems their leader, and those jokers back there confirmed this. He ran away as soon as the battle started, we were so busy fighting none of us had time to go after him. I need a good sleep, and if you have any other questions I'll answer them later", he then yawned and walked towards the furs section of town, closely followed by the other furs who were dropping their clothes as they went along.

That just left the remaining human guards and Herman who says, "First of all I want to apologize to all of you for not only our actions, but those of you returned to us. I can never thank you enough for sparing their lives of those so stupid enough to get themselves involved in something so incredibly dumb. I think it is time we make up for a lot of bad feelings. Call it a come as you are thank you party, once everyone is rested we are going to throw the biggest feast seen around Great Timber in quite along time", he then went right up to Surf, "I want to personally invite you, your entire family and every fur here". "I promise you I won't dress for the feast". "I think we have made it way too much as an issue, it's time to make up for a lot of bad blood, what do you say". "We will be there, just tell us when". "Far enough", then everyone still there cheered.

Very early the next morning Storm found himself with a few other furs and human standing near Herman's home. It seemed both David and Surf called for volunteers to gather up the necessary food stuffs for the feast, and since his kids were with other pups that day at a school that a fox named Eagle Eye had been running as it seems for sometime. It was a school for every fur to learn how to hunt regardless of age. Finally both David and Herman showed up and began reading out a seemly endless grocery list of items needed for the feast. Storm agreed to bring back one of the 2 deers needed.

So there he was a short time later in the forest tracking for a deer. There were plenty of signs but nothing fresh until he came across this mud puddle with a deer print smack dab in the center of it. "Deer your mine", he had not gone more than 20 minutes when who did he find...Coral, "Storm dear, you did not say see you later". "I thought you were asleep", "I was until I realize you were gone...besides you forgot something", "What?!", "Your blade", that was when Coral handed it over to him, "Oh how could I be so dumb", he said. "You just had a lot of things on...your...mind", with that she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him full on his mouth. "Why should I lie I brought those same crystals to Long Bow years ago, does the names Kreevox and Hoarem mean anything to you". Then the 2nd voice says, "It would mean something if they still were around, thanks to that shit of a wolf, he killed them all. Don't you understand I am the only one left, in the past the name Vengeance Warriors meant something, it brought fear in to the hearts and minds of everyone. But now even if I saw my face in to any town they would have me killed faster than I could move. It's like I told you, the only reason you are still alive is that you have a pussy, and if you bite my cock again I am going to take your head off".

Storm knew that one voice was Vixen, and like it or not he had to help the mother of his children. Boldly he made his way on to this scene. Of a gigantic brute of this black bearded Vengeance Warrior, and the sight of Vixen tied just in her fur to a tree. "You!!", the warrior shouted. "Holy crap, I cant believe it's you!", Storm exclaims after recognizing that warrior as the whip master who beat him long ago, "I have been meaning to get revenge for that life you took with your whip". Instantly Vixen knew she was in deep trouble, "Oh dear, I got myself in to big trouble".

As that warrior drew his sword, "I have no more whip, but my blade will do". Storm just smiled as his blade made his point extremely clear. Blow after blow, each one more powerful than the last. Each of them searching for a weakness, a lapse in judgment, even a single mistake in this battle where one must die. Swing after swing, sword clanged against sword more than once, each one was sure that there blade would of shattered more than once in this dance of death. Each one taking one near miss after the other. Until some started to hit their mark, Storm was sure he got sliced more than once, until he realized the warriors sword only got some dried mud, embedded in his fur. But finally Storm saw a weakness, the warrior was watching his moves just as carefully as he was, and that if he made it looked as if he was aiming at one spot than hit some where else he might have a chance.

Storm made it looked as if he was aiming high, but instead landing his blade deep within the warriors leg. When the warrior buckled from the pain. Storm lashed out upon him blow after blow, to every inch of exposed skin. Never stopping, not even once, even long after that warrior took his last breath.

Finally Storm was ready to face and even worse foe...his wife. "Hi Stormkiller", Vixen nervously squeaked. Resting his blade on his shoulder he replies, "It just Storm now". "How are the kids". "You know Willow she is always making friends and since things settled down in Great Timber she got a whole lot of new friends now", "And Baron", "You know Baron he is at that age, he has got this crush on Sprinkle. I don't think it's any more than just a crush, he is just too young otherwise, and both of them are in classes run by Eagle Eye...they are learning survival skills". "That is nice". "But it is something you refused to let me teach them. I think it is a shame that I have to let someone else do what there father should do".

Vixen then nervously swallowed, "I guess your pretty mad at me". "Mad!!! Why should I be, first of all you only was bullying me for the last couple of years, them when your only son wanted to act like he should be acting, you wanted him to be a human and not the animal he is. Then he comes the topper, when faced with me and your children not living up to your high expectations of them. You threaten them and scare poor Willow so she pisses right where she stands". "You should know that Taurin told me what you were like back in Long Bow., shortly after what happened with Willow. I tried not to believe a single word of it, when he said you were a bully. Always wanting to be the leader, the center of everyones attention. But when they ignored you, that was when you pulled out your fists and beat the crap out of everyone that would not obey you. He even told me of your involvement in the Vengeance Warriors, when you were asked no less by the Mayor to leave town or face jail. Vixen, you know what happened when that ex warrior came to River Bend and started shouting that anti fur nonsense. They wanted to kill him, he had to leave or die. Could you imagine what would everyone say if I told them what I heard". Vixen then started to cry, for the 1st time since he known her, Vixen was crying her eyes out. That was when he started to cut her down.

Later Vixen kneeling before her husband, "Storm, I want to say I am truly sorry, I just wish could apologize to our kids. But I have always been this way, I had to be number #1. You don't know how hard it is to be a woman, in this male dominated world. You seen it in River Bend, even though there are many woman powerful enough to hold important jobs. They even aren't given the chance, simply because they are women". "Not in the fur section of Great Timber, I only found out today that this woman I met there by the name of Coral was one of 3 women that help Surf, there leader run that section of town", Storm said. But then Vixen says, "I can't live like that, nor like this can your help me find my dress". "No", "Why not?!", "They are planning this big feast if Great Timber in 3 days, and I promise to bring back a deer for the feast". "What does that has to do with me, I think my dress is back there some place, at worst maybe 2 or 3 days from here". "Vixen your not listening to me, I said no, and I mean no". "But I can't live like this". "Your going to have to and like it or not your going to have to live wild", "Why", "For once in your life this isn't about you, I made a promise and a promise is a promise, stop being so selfish", Storm insisted. "The only real problem we have, we may have to sleep here tonight". "Please, not with that body around". "Your right, it could draw scavengers, if we head in the direction I was originally heading in as long as it isn't too dark for us we should be fine". "Like this?!' , "Yes, like this".

Storm could not help but notice Vixen seemed so nervous and so self conscious about her body he found it almost laughable. Especially when she said that the warrior had bound her to a tree every night since she was discovered by him.

Strom, frankly did not ask, but Vixen volunteered the information on how she was captured in the first place. It seemed after she stormed out of Great Timber she walked around for a while, not really knowing in which direction she should go. "What can I say, I got lost. I wandered around for what seemed like days, I tore my dress. When suddenly I smelled rabbits cooking, I was so hungry I practically ran all the way there. You know me as soon as I saw it was one of those warriors and tried talking my way in to joining him. But I am sorry to say he had only one thing on his mind".

It wasn't that Vixen was upset about the sex, in fact she was prepared for that. But it was the way he tore her dress off, and tied her up to a tree every single time he had to sleep or gather food. "Speaking of food, have you got any I am starving". That was when Storm had this idea for a little revenge, he knew that Vixen was a bit of a snob when it came to her food. Everything had to be both properly cooked, as well as properly seasoned. Oh sure he could of made it easy for her, but why not. The look on her face when he says, "We are on a wilderness diet thats roots, berries and leaves. Maybe if we are lucky we might find a mouse or rabbit. But since we are one the move we have to eat it like it comes...RAW!!!". Storm just wanted to laugh, at her reaction which was topped off, "How can you eat such garbage". Just then he spotted a couple of field mice, he then handed her one. She screamed and dropped it, like he knew she would. But the the appearance she gave of nearly barfing at the sight of him downing that mouse, he knew his revenge was going to be sweet.

Vixen hated everything, from sleeping on the ground to having him watch over her. When she had to piss or shit, his reason predators in the area. The truth was there wasn't, but Vixen did not know that.

By the morning of the second day, "I wish I ate that mouse, I am really starving". Eventually Storm spotted a champa bush, at least that what the furs called it. The berries on it, were not exactly ripe so they, did not taste very good. But they were edible anyway, and when Vixen says, "Barf city" as she ate them only because she was starving.

Finally that evening, maybe a half hour at best before sunset they spotted a few deer, Storm knew it was going to take some good luck in getting one. Vixen went one way Storm with the other, a few deer scattered but there was 3 that were seemly lagged behind. One then the other found an opening and ran away. Finally it was down to just one, it was Vixen who spotted a large mass or both trees and brush, and guided that deer there. Storm knew if it wasn't solid enough that deer will get away. But as it turned out it was that deer struggled to get through. But it was stuck, that was when Storm, lashed out with his blade. The deer cried out, and Storm lashed at it again and again. Until finally it fell to the ground, and slowly bled to death.

Vixen was so happy, so was Storm and when they soon came face to face with each other, instantly they were locked in a passionate embrace. There lips seemly locked together as there arms searched for what they wanted. As Vixen went over to check out the sledge, "I guess you won't have this finished before sunset". Looking up at the sky, "My guess is no, but you do realize we have to keep watch". As Vixen nears, "That goes without saying, too bad we have to take a life in order for life to go on". "It's always been that way, and I guess it will never end". "I wonder how many fawns did that young buck father", Vixen wonders. "It is hard to guess". But Storm had a feeling Vixen had other things on her mind, "My guess is your not wondering about a buck's sex life". Looking in to his eyes, "I guess their rules are different there". "I know it's too late to catch some rabbits, but how about I get some tomorrow morning, and I'll cook them up especially for you", Storm said hoping to cheer Vixen up. A sudden storm the next morning only complicated things, making the return of the deer even harder as they had to drag the sledge over muddy ground. Even as the rain fell, Vixens mood was darker than the sky above them. It's was like she had lost what made her Vixen. She ate whatever Storm gave her, without complaint, without comment. Both of them were completely soaked to the skin, as Storm knew they were only maybe a day away when the rain finally stopped. Storm wanted to just plain say something. But he couldn't think of anything and frankly Vixen did not care to.

It was early in the morning of the day of the feast, when they finally arrived. 2 humans took the sledge from Vixen and Storm as she went directly to David's temporarily home, he was just going out, as she was coming in. I am afraid I may of made it too hard for her on the way back here. I think broke her spirit". But as David came Coral was saying, "That was bound to happen, she was full of herself. By now the feast was in full swing, the music, the food, best of all everyone was getting on so well. Save for 3 who worried if someone was on the verge of ending their life.

It was there at the feast that Storm flanked by his kids spoke to Surf, "We are very worried about Vixen, every since I got back she has not gotten out of bed once". Then Willow adds, "Will mommy ever be happy again". Surf just rubbed her head, then got down on one knee, "Don't worry, I think I know what I can do to make her happy again. But I got to make one stop first before I see here, but please no matter what you hear, please do not let yourselves in". They watched as Surf, spoke to this human woman named Betty, she then went in her home and returned with a package.

Finally Surf let himself in to David's home, he saw Vixen still as she was when she returned to Great Timber, just in her fur and still laying face down on the bed. Instantly Vixen shouted, "Leave me alone!". "I have been asked by your family to see if I can help you". "I said GO!!!", "I won't unless you look at me and say that". "Then will you go", Vixen wonders. "Without question", Vixen then at least partially got up, at least enough to see who had been talking to her ready to say the worst thing possible. But when she saw this otter, her face showed she could not believe what her eyes were now telling her. That this man was her long lost, 1st true love, as her eyes were welling up with tears, and her jaw trembled she nervously asked a single question, "Winston?", he then, just nodded his head. Suddenly Vixen came rushing over to him, crying her heart out all the way. Even Surf found it hard to hold back his own tears.

A short time later Vixen now wearing a party dress and Surf leave David's home, Vixen has her arm around Surf. "Mom what happened in there?", Baron wondered. Vixen was so happy, she even had tears in her eyes, "What happened in there was 'Surf', I wish I knew it was you, I would of saw you earlier". "You better let me", Surf said. "You see Vixen and I are very old friends. We known each other since we both were kids". Then Vixen interrupts, "Ever since both of us were your age Willow, when his family moved to Long Bow, when he used to be known as Winston Travers". "Your originally form a town?!", Baron now exclaims. "That was a very long time ago, before I saw the light of living the way we should. But the truth of it we originally moved there because of problems with other humans from the west. What can I say when we first saw each other it was love at 1st sight". "Even as we both grew up together, we were deeply in love. Don't worry Storm my love", Vixen said. "Even when my family moved on to Karma, I stayed in Long Bow until that one fateful day", Surf sighed. "What he is trying to put so tactfully, that my bad side surfaced. I was a bully through and through", Vixen admits. "That was when I left, no note, nothing", Surf admits. "That is sad", Willow observes. "I was heartbroken, I guess I lost control. But I have to say to Willow and Baron I am truly sorry for what I put you both through. I wish I could make it up, for all the trouble I caused to the both of you". That was when she gave both her kids a great big hug.

Baron seemed a little frustrated, "What I like to know is mom going to stay or not". Everyone then turned to Vixen, "I guess you already know what I told Storm. That when Bam-bo comes I was planning on leaving with him and head off to Karma. I guess since we have a little bit of Karma here, I guess I am now staying". Then Willow asks, "Will mommy be living with us?", "That is up to Vixen", Surf adds. "Willow, I wish I could say yes. But as everyone can tell you, your mommy has problems. I need to work them out with Surf's help, and maybe one day we could be a family once again. But until that happens you can visit me anytime you like, and I swear I will not make you do anything you don't want to do". "..and maybe, we can get your mommy to go on trips to the lake with us and teach her the ways of the wild", Storms adds. When Vixen gave a hesitant nod, everyone cheered.

"Lets enjoy the feast everyone", Surf said and everyone agreed. They all had a great time, and they even saw something that made them all laugh. It was Herman who was drunk, was trying to make a pass at Flutter...who was also a bit drunk. It seems she wasn't quite use to the mead, beer and hard cider that was freely dispensed to everyone.
