Part 2/2
The meaning.
Ren opened the door to his car, a Nissan Aaltima from 1999. It was a light blue in color, and the hood of it was white as if it was replaced and not painted. Ren glared at it, and sighed as he slammed the door. Thinking aloud as he looked to the mirror, adjusting it where Sam drove it the other day, he'd start the engine saying "When I get the next check, I am so getting this car repainted! Damn feral deer.."
A half hour later he pulled up to a military hospital located outside of the city. He got out, locked the door and walked around to check his license plate. He only had one screw to hold it right now, and he had to invest his other checks into more important matters. The license plate had TRC839 printed on it. It was still in place, the gum he used to stick to the other corners was holding fast. Satisfied, he left his car and walked into the hospital.
He showed his military ID to the cheetah at the front desk dressed in a military basic uniform, who nodded him through. As he got in the room, there was a number of male furs getting undressed and setting their clothes in the locker they stood in front of. Ren stood in between a lion and a orca, already stripped, and started to undress. He paid the two who dwarfed him in muscle and size no mind, keeping his mind focused on not panicking. After he took off everything, he closed his locker and turned to sit down on the bench against the bottom of his locker. He sat on it, leaning against his locker with a sigh. The other guys did pretty much the same, some talking here and there and catching up. Everyone here went to basic together, and they went through the shit and hell of military life. They where all here for the same reason, for...
"Ren Turner, Your up! Lets see if you haven't gotten out of shape!" The doctor called from the door on the opposite side.
Ren cursed to himself, being first. They did it randomly, but at least it was for him to get out faster. As he walked to the door, a few of the guys in the room wolf whistled. They all knew he was gay, they figured it out in basic. Normally he would have gotten discharged, but after standing up against the Sargent on the first day he kind of earned their respect even though he wasn't in the best of shape.
He entered the door and let it close behind him, shivering as his eyes laid on the doctor. Dressed in a white doctor coat was a silver fox. He stood a few inches above Ren, being about six foot, and wore glasses. His head fur was spiked, still the same silver that the rest of his fur held. He smiled and looked the otter up and down saying "You kept it up I see, doing good. I seriously doubt you will fail this exam. Just gotta do a check up on ya Ren."
Ren just grunted and walked to the table, turning around and sitting on the rough paper with a light crinkle The fox frowned and walked over, saying "You know Ren, I may be a doctor but I am still the same fox that you had to spend a week in the same closed room for confinement. I'm also the same fox who saved your ass when people started to find out that you where gay."
Ren looked up at him, glaring. He'd then take in a shuddering breath and say "Lets get this over with, please Dr. Valis. I have places to be today rather than the.." another deep breath to say with disgust "hospital"
Dr. Valis shook his head and put the stethoscope to Ren's chest, listening to his heart beat. He didn't need to instruct Ren on what to do, Ren was well versed in taking basic vitals. He could qualify to be a RN if he wanted to, but he absolutely hated hospitals and the medical field. As he listened, he'd say "It is not my fault that Ben died."
This made Ren snap, the otter's teeth showing as his right fist went to connect with the fox's muzzle. Dr. Valis sighed as he moved his head to the side, and then he'd shove his fingers firmly into where Ren's diaphragm is. Ren would gasp in pain, going to grab the area as Dr. Valis tightened his right paw into a fist and sent it into the bottom of Ren's muzzle. Ren's head snapped back and he fell back hard onto the table. Dr. Valis then grabbed his legs, flipped him over and put his steal toed boot down firmly on Ren's tail. "That could get you arrested if I reported it, your lucky though that this fox knows how to get most guys on their stomachs rather roughly."
Ren turned to look at the fox, his eyes of pure hatred. The fox just stood there, arms crossed as he waited. After a minute of this, Ren sighed and muttered "I'm under control now, sorry Tom."
The fox smiled and took his foot off his friend's tail, bending down to brush the fur off gently. "Sorry I was rough, but I had to remind you who the alpha was between us. You are a gentle person, not someone who's good at fighting. Hell you can fight, but against me you have no chance when blinded by anger. Especially when it's misguided."
Ren nodded as he sat up, blushing a tad bit under his fur. The fox wasn't fooled, and smirked. "No yiff in the doctor's office, besides Samuel wouldn't agree to that one. Why I didn't top you when I just had the chance." Tom said with a laugh, making Ren blush much deeper. "Gah, you are so much fun to tease! It's funny because I'm the straight one Ren, and you know that! Oh how I love being a fox!"
As Tom said this, there was a knock on the door. He sighed and opened it, saying as he did so "This is a privet exam...Oh hello there Sargent!" as a large doberman walked in the room. He walked pass Tom and stood in front of the now saluting Ren. He growled, saying "At ease. Privet Ren is this yours, it was in my parking space."
The doberman handed Ren a license plate, which had TRC839. Ren's jaw dropped and he nodded, taking the license plate. It was his id number for basic, which the Sargent in front of him was his drill Sargent. The parking space directly behind him was Sargent Cherko's, Ren was sure not to park there. As he took it he asked "What about my car, was it in the space behind you?"
"Nope, it's empty. Where you dumb enough to leave your keys in it privet?" He barked back with a deep voice, making the otter's blood run cold. He turned to Tom and said "I've got to call the police, permission to use my cellphone that is in my locker?"
"Sure, grab it and bring it in here so you can hear. I can't let you go until I finish the rest of your check up, but hurry this is rather important. Thank you Sargent Cherko, you will take your leave now as my patient needs to finish his check in." Tom said, to which the dog growled. Tom was in charge here, and Cherko knew it. The dog walked out as Ren bolted to his locker, attracting many stares from the others there. He opened it and grabbed his cell out of his pants pocket, the cell being a iPhone, and relocked his locker. He turned and ran back to the doctor's office, which Tom stuck his head out saying "There will be another Doctor starting shortly, sorry it's taking so long. Apparently something important happened." And shut the door promptly.
Ren went to dial the number for the police, as the cell started to ring. The picture that showed up was Sam's, the silly wolf winking at the camera while cooking. Out of habit, the otter hit the answer button and rose it to his ear.
"Yes hon, what is it?"
-Earlier that day-
Sam walked out of the tan brick building and stretched. Other students where walking past him, mumbling about how hard the exam was. Sam had a smile on his face, he didn't care about the final really. What he cared about was finishing it so he could go get the surprise ready.
"I know I was told to go home right after, but I can't! Super Market first!" he'd say out loud, and rush off at a run, zig zagging between furs. Angry shouts went after him, but it didn't matter. He stopped at the cross walk and looked both ways. Not a thing was around, so even though the light was green the wolf zipped across the street and right into the corner super market.
Once inside, he grabbed a cart and went straight to his favorite isle. The shelf he stopped at had several bottles of Hersey chocolate syrup. He giggled in excitement, they where on sale at twenty five percent off! He grabbed a arm full of them, and dumped them into the cart. He counted fifteen bottles and nodded. "That will do it, and I'll have some left over for brownies!" he then pushed the cart to the next isle, and almost screamed in delight. The cool whip was on sale as well, but it was marked down by thirty percent! He'd dance in the isle as he grabbed about ten tubs of it, throwing them into the cart. As he pushed the cart towards the register, he grabbed a new roll of freezer paper and toss it into the cart saying "So much easier to clean up afterwords if I use this!" and smile at the clerk.
The clerk would blink several times at the stuff, the female snow leopard saying "Going to make a few people go into diabetic shock wolfie?" as she rang the stuff up.
Sam would smile and say "Maybe just one, today I'm treating him to his favorite treat he hasn't gotten in over a year."
The snow leopard nodded and before she could ask Sam handed her his credit card. He thought to himself "Do not let Ren know how I paid for this, and be sure to pay it off before he finds out. Or at least later after he's enjoyed it! It's the first time I've ever used it so what I won't be struck by lightning."
After he bagged it all up in four bags, he smiled to the lady and waved as he went out the door. He looked up and saw the walk signal, and the only car was a light blue one with a white hood approaching. He didn't pay it any mind, as his mind was on what he needed to do to get Ren out of the house when he was on the way back. His cell was in his pocket, so once he got across the street he'd take it out and ask the otter if he could pick up dinner. He was half way across the street, looking up into the air. A woman screamed, making the wolf snap to reality as breaks could be heard. Next thing he knew, he was flying into the air over the 1999 Nissan Altima and the chocolate syrup and cool whip went flying everywhere to be mixed in with the red blood of the wolf.
