I know this may not be everyone's taste or what people want, but I fancied writing something that made me feel warm and fuzzy.

In this one a bird and his girlfriend take some time to explore the effects of a falconry hood.

Enjoy.

“I hope Violet doesn't think this is too weird….." Felix worries as he walks away from the postage locker, flapping his wings to lift off. The white of his chest, the grey-brown and dark brown of his wings, the rufous tail feathers tipped in white, Felix looks exactly like your typical red-tailed hawk. The parcel in Felix's talons, while making flying slightly awkward, holds something he has wanted for a long time. The world whips by past Felix as he flies back to his dorm where he knows his wonderful girlfriend is waiting for him, his heart is confused at being calmed by this fact and being quickened by it. Violet is a very understanding mouse, Felix mentioned his desire to try out very light bondage and she was all for it. That conversation had been stressful for him but somehow actually holding what he plans to use for the bondage in his talons and knowing he has to unveil it to Violet seems so much more anxiety-inducing. Pushing these thoughts out of his head Felix flaps to a landing outside his flat's front door. Around Felix's left leg is a band, like the ones used on pigeons, which functions as his identification card at Maple Hills University. Felix approaches the door and it clicks unlocked and opens for him. “Deep breaths, Violet is awesome so she won't get freaked out or weirded out." Felix tries to reassure himself as he walks into the flat and across the carpeted porch, and again his identification band unlocks the next door for him which swings open automatically. He flies to his dorm door and just like the last two doors it lets him through, a small, very small, part of Felix had hoped the several doors wouldn't have worked so he could put off revealing what's in the package to Violet.

“Look who it is! It's my incredibly handsome boyfriend!" Violet comes running towards Felix, her small form barrelling across the floor of his dorm to meet him. Felix leans down so Violet can hug him, her forepaws delving into his white chest plumage and feeling his warmth. She pulls back from her hug after a moment and looks at the light brown package Felix has. “Ooooh, and this must be the thing….." Felix had brought up his feelings about trying very light bondage quite a while ago but Violet had never pressed him to tell her any more than what he wanted, so when Felix told her he was going to pick up a parcel and that it was about bondage she couldn't help but get excited and curious. Violet looks up at her boyfriend's face, despite the fierce expression, which she knows all birds of prey naturally wear, she can see Felix is worried, it's in his eyes and the way his beak is slightly parted. She dials back her energy and hugs Felix again. “You're so amazing." She says into his soft feathers. Once their hug ends Felix straightens back up.

“Let's move this to my bedroom." He smiles at how that sounds and smiles even more when he looks at Violet and she's doing the same.

“Dirty bird, get your mind out of the gutter!" She teases as she moves to the back of the package and helps Felix pull it through the dorm and into his room, his talons have made small holes in the package from him carrying it and pulling it through the flat, but all Violet can glimpse through the holes is white packing paper. A tiny note of disappointment inches its way into her feelings but gets obliterated by the fact that Felix is going to show her what's in the package once they get it to his room, if he still feels comfortable doing so that is. They enter Felix's bedroom. In the middle of the room sits his bed, a black cushion-like thing designed just for sentient feral avians, and knick-knacks of all sorts are littered around the floor of the room. The smell of the room is that typical airy birdy scent but Violet can detect the uniqueness of Felix and she loves it. As a field mouse, she should feel scared when she smells a bird of prey like Felix, but his scent is one she knows she can relax in, she knows he will keep her safe and she will do the same for him. They place the parcel down beside the bed and Felix stands about awkwardly as he tries to take the next step, Violet doesn't push him, she doesn't want to force him.

“S-so remember I said I, uh, wanted to try very light bondage?" Felix starts, not quite looking at Violet because of his nerves.

“Yes."

“Well I don't think I'm ready to have my legs and wings bound just yet, that seems a bit too intimidating for me right now." Felix leaves a silence after this, Violet realises that he wants her opinion.

“That's totally fine, Felix, we don't have to do that if you don't want to. I've never done bondage before so restraining you like that may be a little far for us right now." Violet's voice is soft and as comforting as she can make it sound, she sees Felix's plumage settle slightly from being ruffled, a sign he's calmer after her words.

“This took so long because…….. I've had a hood made for me." Felix had to push himself to get this out but now it's out he can't help but look directly at Violet hoping she doesn't get weirded out.

“Oh my goodness, can we open this and see it?" Violet says, indicating the parcel to Felix. This was not one of the many reactions he thought she'd have in all of his disaster scenarios, he lets out a breath and nods.

“Let's open it." Violet helps rip open the light brown papery package, Felix's talons do the majority of the work though. Once the outer shell has been destroyed, all that lies between them and laying eyes on the hood is a white layer of paper. Violet lets Felix unwrap this last layer, she wants to let him do this final step for himself. “Well the world hasn't crashed down around me and you don't seem to be freaking out so I guess I worried for nothing." Felix says sheepishly, Violet smiles warmly at his cute embarrassed face. Felix uses one foot to carefully cut through the paper and pull it off the hood. Violet can't restrain a gasp once the hood is fully revealed. There on the floor lies a brown falconry hood, she can tell it has been made by a skilled worker. She walks around it to get a good look at it. It looks exquisite. It's the colour of a dark oaky brown with leather tassels coming out of the top and has braces, basically drawstrings, under where the bottom of the beak will go and at the back of the hood to tighten it and keep it on the head.

“It's beautiful…….. just like you are." Violet says as she looks at Felix. He hasn't seen it before either, not in real life anyway, and he couldn't be happier with it. After a moment they both get used to how good the hood looks and Felix realises that he didn't need to worry at all, Violet seems to love the hood and still loves him.

“D-do you like it?" He asks.

“Now that I've had a look at it it seems worthy of being worn by such a cute and beautiful person such as yourself." Violet responds, making Felix blush at the compliment.

“Can we uh- let's just wait a little moment before you help me put it on." Felix stumbles out, Violet embraces Felix's lower chest since that's all she can reach right now since he's not bending down for her.

“Okay." Is all she says, she knows Felix needs some time to decompress after this. “So third year starts in a few weeks, I can't wait to see all our friends back in Maple Hills again."

“Yeah, it'll be nice to talk to them and see how they're doing. Probably over a cup of coffee." The time passes comfortably for both, Violet's light brown fur shimmering under the lights of the room while her hairless tail lays relaxedly behind her as they both talk. After a few minutes, Felix eventually plucks up the necessary amount of courage to make the next move. “Sorry it's taking me so long to want to put the hood on," Felix apologises. “It's just that I've never worn one and I don't know what it's going to be like and I don't know if I'll like it and-“

“Felix," Violet interrupts gently. “You can take all the time in the world if you want, you don't ever have to put the hood on if you don't want to. I'm not going to force you to do anything. If you do put the hood on I'm going to be here to help you if things don't work out."

“Okay, let's put the hood on me." Felix says with a determined voice. He picks up the hood with one foot and Violet takes it from him. Felix watches as Violet tries to figure out how the hood works and after a moment she seems happy enough to try and put it on him.

Because of their size difference, Violet asks Felix to put a puffy pillow on top of his bed. Once the pillow is in place she climbs up onto it with the hood and now she can look directly into the fierce eyes of her love.

“Hello handsome." Felix looks away bashfully, using a wing to partially hide his face.

“H-hello." He says back. Violet smiles softly and holds up the hood as best she can, Felix looks at it and isn't too sure what he feels.

“Are you ready?"

“Yeah." Felix shuffles his position a bit so he is facing away from Violet, to make it easier for her to do up the braces. Felix feels Violet positioning the hood, resting it against the top of his head to help her with it. He knows it can't be easy for Violet to handle the hood, it's quite big and she's only small. He tries to stay as still as possible to help her, his mind is a whirlwind of nervousness and worry so staying so still is a challenge. All without warning Felix feels smooth leather sliding over his feathers and covering his head, sliding down from above him somewhat sinisterly. He lets out a small sound of agitation and thinks about moving away but then his world goes dark and he stays still, his momentary panic gone.

“Oh shit!" Felix gasps, Violet still has her forepaws holding the hood, she can feel the cushiony feathers of Felix's head through the leather hood. Her tail lashes worriedly behind her at Felix's words.

“Bad? Do you want me to take it off you?" Violet asks quickly, worried the hood is freaking Felix out, she's poised to remove it from him at his word.

“No no, it's not bad," Felix responds calmly, Violet is somewhat shocked by how calm Felix sounds. “I uh, it's just….wow! I can't explain it." Felix doesn't move an inch, his feathers are ruffled a bit but other than that he doesn't seem panicked or upset. Now that Violet knows Felix isn't stressed about the hood covering his eyes she smiles and relaxes. She's glad Felix isn't freaking out about being blinded, her heart aches with him whenever he gets distressed.

“Well, I haven't even done it up properly yet." She says with a slight tease in her voice. Felix doesn't turn his head but she can tell he wants to out of instinct; she can also tell he is acutely aware of the sound of her voice. “Do you want time to get used to having it like that or shall I tighten the braces?" Felix doesn't respond for a moment as he tries to sort out what's happening to him right now. Violet can't see anything happening but she knows he's processing his situation, she knows he's that type of hawk. He responds calmly after a second.

“You can do it up. I, uh, I think I might like it." Felix adds sheepishly, Violet smiles warmly at the bird she loves. Felix can't see her smile but he can sense the love and affection Violet feels for him even after he just told her something embarrassing. Violet reaches out, almost falling off the pillow, but grasps hold of both the braces going under Felix's grey-black hooked beak. It's not the easiest thing for her to do but she pulls both braces and sees Felix's feathers ruffle up a little as it tightens under his beak to make sure the hood stays where it is on his head. Violet doesn't want to make the fastening too tight so stops once she thinks it's tight enough and Felix doesn't look uncomfortable.

“Is it tight enough? Any discomfort?" Violet can hear Felix breathing in and out deeply, she waits for him to respond.

“It's good, nothing wrong." At this Violet smiles, even without being able to see most of her boyfriend's head she can tell he is happy. The braces on the back of the hood are much easier for Violet to reach and she does a small jump up and grasps both in her forepaws. She hadn't meant it but as she falls back down to the cushion, the braces tighten and as she feels her back legs make contact with the soft surface of the cushion she sees she has managed to do up the back of the hood. Felix lets out a gasp and shifts on his talons which makes Violet let go of the braces. Felix's feathers ruffle up to make him look puffy and he spreads his wings in an imitation of beginning to fly.

“Is everything still okay?" Violet asks with concern clear in her voice, she isn't sure if Felix is panicking or if she went too quickly or if he's just trying to process everything and this is all unconscious instinct.

“Y-yeah…….." Violet can tell that tightening the back of the hood has caused something to change for what her boyfriend is experiencing, luckily Felix tries to explain. “Wow. Uh, that's really odd. Um." He splutters out, his wings making slow almost-flapping motions. “You tightened the back and everything got so much stronger."

“Stronger?" Violet asks confused.

“Not stronger but uh….. more…… I guess." Felix doesn't really know what he's on about but tries to break it down for Violet, most of his mind is on the hood but he tries. “Before you did everything up the hood was only really doing half of what it is now, sort of. I can't see anything. I couldn't see anything before but now somehow it feels like I can see even less." Violet can tell Felix is trying his best to explain to her what he's going through right now but she can also tell he's distracted, probably by the fact that the hood is blinding him. Violet knows birds of prey like Felix mainly rely on their sight; to assess threats, to find prey, it's their most important sense and she's heard it said that it influences their cognition to a significant degree. She can't imagine what her boyfriend is experiencing right now.

“And everything's still okay?" Violet asks, looking at the brown plumage and still slightly spread wings of her boyfriend.

“Yeah, everything's fine. I'm a lot calmer than I thought I would be right now." Felix reassures her, giving as much of a warm smile as his beak can make. To Violet it looks a bit funny, her boyfriend wearing a dark brown leather mask and smiling at her. “It feels quite comfy actually." He adds before hearing Violet's attempts at not chuckling. His smiling diminishes and he looks at where he can hear her, ungracefully turning around. “I don't look silly, do I? I don't look that funny, right?" There's quite a bit of sadness in his voice as he asks these questions and Violet's heart pangs at his unhappy face looking down at her.

“No! No no no no no. I'm not laughing at you." She tells Felix seriously, trying to allay his worry. “Your smiling face looks quite different with the hood on which made me want to chuckle because you just look so cute in that hood and I was happy it suited you so much. I'm not used to you wearing it is all."

“Really?"

“Well of course, you look great with it on and you're so handsome naturally."

“But most of my head is covered in leather right now." Felix points out with a tilt of his head, Violet actually does chuckle now.

“Yes, but your head isn't the only handsome part of you, you've got your deceptively strong body, your beautiful wings, and you know how much I love your plumage. And that's only me naming a few things." As a reflexive response to so much affection and love, Felix tries to hide his face beneath his right wing. This doesn't exactly go to plan and he ends up bumping his head into his wing and misses it. Embarrassment floods Felix but not as much as he would be feeling without the hood on, he thinks. Despite the hood taking away his most valuable sense, paradoxically he finds it calming. “Aw, it's okay my little bird. No need to be shy." Violet coos as she gently brushes up against Felix's chest, being surprised at the amount of a reaction she gets from him, making him gasp and flutter his wings. “Did my little bird like that?"

“V-Violet, I- what was that?" Felix asks in awe. Whatever his girlfriend just did was out of this world.

“I just gave your chest feathers a little touch."

“Oh my god, that- I-“ Felix gasps out, trying to recover from being touched. It's nothing erotic for Felix, but for some reason having his plumage touched felt really nice. “Could, uh, could you please, uh-“ Before he gets to the end of his request Violet gently strokes his chest again. Felix shivers, his wings flapping slowly, and then gives a soft call as Violet continues her touching. Seeing her boyfriend like this is new for Violet, he isn't usually the most vocal bird but he's letting out such happy vocalisations from his hooked beak that she can't help but share some of the joy. She gets an idea on how to maybe make this better for him and puts it into practice immediately.

“That's good, does that feel nice?" She asks softly, both her forepaws rubbing deep into the downy chest of her boyfriend and feeling his warmth. “Why don't you lie back so I can feel over some more of your beauty?" Violet realises she sort of fumbled at the end there but it seems Felix doesn't mind at all. Without a word, just more soft, happy caws, he falls onto his back and spreads his limbs, his wings fully extended at his sides and his legs spread with his tail feathers splayed out. “Stop me if you don't like anything, okay?" Felix opens his beak to try and speak but can't, his beak clicks open and closed a few times but he can't seem to get words out right now. Giving up on speaking, he nods his head to show he's heard her and Violet gives a gentle smile at her big fierce-looking boyfriend seemingly becoming non-verbal right now. She doesn't mind at all, she's never seen him like that before but she knows he is still able to stop her if he wants to because of their size difference. Violet clambers down the pillow that she is on and then across the bed onto Felix's front, causing him to caw and shiver as she moves into position and uses both front paws to rub against his chest, drawing soft caws and now a new trilling which she has never heard him make before. She feels Felix's muscles under her twitching as his entire body reacts to her rubbing.

Felix can't see anything at all so each brush against his feathers comes out of the dark void and feels nice, he knows it's Violet touching him and because it's her he doesn't feel any worry about not knowing where her paws will feel next. The soft feathers jostle under Violet's paws as she draws happy vocalisations from her boyfriend who is obviously loving this, his legs twitching and beak clacking between letting out his joy. Her paws glide over Felix's chest some more before Violet stops which makes Felix raise his head to look at her despite his blindness because of the hood, an unhappy caw dribbles from his beak and Violet grimaces. “It's okay, I'm not stopping forever, just want to try moving somewhere else." Felix tries to say something, a surprisingly needy plea for Violet to start rubbing his feathers again, but can't, his beak only letting out a huff. He doesn't get long without the great feelings Violet can bring him because he feels her move towards his side, tumbling off him and landing with a little thump on the floor beside him. “Hmmmm… I wonder where I'm going to feel next……." Felix knows Violet's words are meant to make him wonder this exact question and it works, his mind conjures up as many possibilities as it can as the sound of Violet moving disappears, she's obviously trying to keep him guessing. It feels like Violet could come from anywhere in the darkness and that makes Felix excited to see what is going to happen.

Violet tries to keep as quiet as she possibly can, making sure her little claws don't make any noise on the floor as she sneaks towards her boyfriend's left wing. Smiling at what reaction Felix might have, she reaches out a paw and gently starts stroking along a few of his dark-brown tipped primary feathers. Almost immediately Felix shivers and lets out a loud caw, his legs twitching unconsciously as he feels Violet come out of nowhere and start playing with his wing feathers. They move easily under Violet's paw and she brings her other paw to join in, pressing down on the feathers or sometimes very very gently pulling one. Felix doesn't know why he's enjoying this so much, but he fully accepts how great this feels nonetheless, and hopefully Violet isn't finding his reactions to her simply touching and playing with his feathers too weird. Violet for her part is simply happy she gets to hear and see Felix's enjoyment, he's always so worried and takes a lot onto himself so she's glad that he's liking this so much.

“My little bird seems to like this, let's see if the other wing is the same." Felix hears the scrabble of Violet's claws on the ground as she dashes to his other side and starts feeling over the primary feathers of his right wing. “Yep, does that feel just as good? Let me hear a big call if you want me to keep going." Despite not being willing to let him talk, Felix's body is more than willing to let him issue a fierce screech, it's so loud that Violet hears ringing in her ears after it. “That's a very loud yes for me to continue, very well, my little bird." Violet moves along Felix's wings to his secondary feathers, closer to his body. Once she starts doing this Felix's sounds transform into a sort of cooing which Violet is surprised by, she doesn't stop though because even this sound is a happy one.

Felix can feel Violet ever so slowly moving inwards towards his body, taking her time and trying to reach as much of each feather as she can, likely stretching to be able to reach along towards his inside coverts but never quite being able to reach until she's within a few feathers of his side. His feathers are shorter here and Violet manages to feel over the white coverts, making Felix quiver and start clenching his talons open and closed repeatedly. “Oh…. You like that do you? Well how about if I do……..this." Violet punctuates her words by placing a paw down on the downy softness just in the pit where the wing meets the body. This draws a big reaction from Felix, having his auxiliary feathers touched triggers all sorts of feelings and he can't stop himself from weakly flapping his wings and letting out another screech, quieter than the first one but no less powerfully shouted. Violet is buffeted by Felix's wing but bears it and brings her other paw down to start using both to rub over the soft feathers, Felix seems to really like it. “Wow, my little bird seems to love this……" she teases affectionately to her quivering boyfriend, taking mercy on him and stopping her touching of his auxiliary feathers. He pants out loudly, trying to recover from what he's just been through, he couldn't have dreamt about what that felt like.

His respite is short-lived because his right foot spreads wide once he feels Violet touching its scaly yellow surface, she must have moved while he was distracted. His wickedly sharp black talons should make Violet nervous but she trusts Felix to be careful, although much less careful than usual right now. She brushes over the scaled surface of his foot before moving to the base of his leg just above. The scales are so different from Felix's feathers, they cause totally new types of feelings for him. Having Violet's paws gliding over his right leg makes his left one move and twitch out in the buzzy sort of feelings she's causing him. Violet moves back down and feels over one of his toes, the muscles she can feel twitching and flexing are strong and she knows they're one of the reasons hawks are such dangerous predators, especially to a field mouse like her. But there's something empowering about teasing her big boyfriend by touching him here, he could decide to grab her in his talons and she'd be powerless to stop him, but right now he's far too busy with the sensations she's giving him, powerless under her paws. Felix keeps his right foot spread for Violet, letting her touch anywhere she wants, but soon she moves on and he unthinkingly lets out a cluck as he feels her paws move all the way up his leg and onto the soft white feathers of his lower body.

“You've got such lovely tail feathers, how about I give them a feel too….." Violet moves her paws to feel Felix's characteristically rufous tail feathers, travelling from their tips to their base where his downy white feathers start. Her paws tousle these delicate feathers as she rubs through them, deciding to move on from her very short time with her boyfriend's tail feathers. Felix quivers and shakes gently as she moves, these feathers must be extra sensitive for him. Trilling caws leave Felix's beak, they're the only sound his beak can make right now, Violet's paws ruffling his feathers so close to his cloaca feels incredibly intense. Violet sees the pink vent of her boyfriend, his length hasn't emerged but she can see some moistness. She purposely avoids getting too close to it or touching it as she rubs her boyfriend's feathers, he hasn't said this is a sex thing and she doesn't want to assume so she leaves it alone. Even without touching his sensitive cloaca, Violet can tell Felix is loving this, his trilling high and pleased and it only continues as she moves onto the feathers of the top of his right leg, the one place back here she hasn't had a feel over. The warmth she can feel through Felix's soft feathers comforts her and she tries to show how much she loves and cares for him, being this close and simply getting to pet and feel as much of him as she wants makes Violet's affection for her little bird soar.

As much as she would love nothing more than to stay here feeling Felix's downy, mottled white and brown feathers above his cloaca leading up to his chest, there is one more place she wants to touch. Climbing back up onto his chest and drawing out quivers and such lovely noises from her boyfriend, Violet moves up onto his upper chest and once there reaches towards the hooked grey-black beak in front of her. “Close your beak, little bird, I know you're enjoying this and want to make all your lovely noises but I want you to try and keep your beak closed for a moment." Felix is almost panting but he closes his beak like Violet asked, confused about what she has planned next. His confusion disappears when he feels a paw start slowly stroking the top of his beak, all the way from his nares to the hooked end of it. Felix doesn't feel the desire to caw or screech or even open his beak but the stroking still feels nice, in a calming sort of way that nothing else has so far. “Such a good little bird." Violet praises moving to rubbing the sides of his beak with each paw. The calming feeling fades for Felix and now he has to focus on keeping his beak closed for his girlfriend, it feels like a nice buzzy feeling is all over him, emanating from his beak and going all the way to the tips of his talons. “Do you like that, little bird?" Felix can't answer with words but he opens his beak a tiny bit and lets out a chirp which soon grows into a trilling as his beak opens wider and wider. Violet is forced to stop rubbing his beak and shuffles backwards a little on Felix's chest as her boyfriend vocalises his pleasure. She doesn't start touching his plumage again, despite his loud calls Violet can tell he's feeling exhausted so she decides to end things there unless Felix tells her to continue again. Felix shivers and trills for a while longer but without Violet actively rubbing him he slowly starts to calm down and even manages to regain his speech. It takes several quiet minutes before Felix recovers enough but Violet feels as her wonderful boyfriend huffs out in calmness and his body underneath her relaxes most of its tension.

“T-that was…….. wow……." Felix sighs out.

“You really seemed to enjoy it, do you want me to touch anywhere again or have you had enough?" Violet asks lovingly, she knows he can't see her but her face is one of absolute affection for him.

“C- could…… you maybe….. stroke the ridge of…… of my beak again? I, uh, I like it." Felix asks airily, still recovering from everything.

“Of course I can." Violet responds happily, her voice soft and gentle. Felix feels Violet move a little on his upper chest, the feeling making him gasp before he tries very hard to keep his beak closed for his girlfriend. A contented huff leaves his nares as he feels her paws come out of the darkness caused by the hood and start stroking down the top of his beak. Her paws softly glide the whole length of his beak in long, slow motions which Violet can tell Felix appreciates very much. She feels his body below her foot paws relaxing even more and she can see his wings resting on his bed in stillness, Felix's breathing falling into slow, steady breaths. Felix opens his beak a crack and Violet waits patiently to hear what her boyfriend is going to say, her paws still moving slowly over the hard grey-black surface under them.

“It……makes me feel sleepy….." He trails out tiredly to his caring girlfriend who smiles warmly at him and just continues stroking the ridge of his beak.

“Well then just fall asleep, I'll be right here with you all night." Violet tells her dozy love soothingly, feeling him drifting away into sleep.

“I……..love you……..so……….much…………" Felix sighs before sleep fully takes him over, so much joy and happiness and love and gratitude laced through his tired, heartfelt words.

“I love you too."
