The Hellhounds
Genesis finished polishing her scales, and began putting away the polishing kit.
Just on the other side of the doorway, Soren glanced over at the hybrid. She could never get over just how good Genesis looked, even if she were a hybrid. She had the face and body of a wolf, but had long, delicate wings, with a thin silvery membrane stretched between, and a scaly, whip-like, tail. At the tip of her muzzle was a short, pointy horn, which Genesis regularly threatened male onlookers with. The claws on her forepaws were sharp, and a rare ivory white. Soren loved Genesis' scales the most: her tail was coated in them. All shades of blues and greens that transformed as she walked, giving her a neon chameleon look. It was subtle, yet powerful.
Genesis left the room, catching Soren's stare.
"You like the scales?" Genesis asked.
"You did a wonderful job, friend." Soren said. Genesis smiled her trademark smirk, and left. There was never any sort of relationship between Soren and Genesis outside of being friends, although on occasion, Soren would let herself drift into a daydream about her friend. She was already mated to Tyler, so anyone outside him would've been wrong.
Soren walked down the hallway to the bathroom, where she proceeded to groom herself. She gazed absent-mindedly into the mirror at the identical German Shepherd staring back while she ran the brush through her thick tail. She couldn't help but think how excited she was for Tyler to get home from the firehouse. He always liked a little bondage play before dinner, but tonight was special: there would be no roommates in the apartment.
The teapot in the kitchen began to sing, so Soren rushed out to stop it. The high-pitched whine never bothered her, but the poor werewolf downstairs couldn't take it even if it were a mile away. She set the pot on another burner and fished a cup from the cupboard.
After pouring herself some tea (and flavoring it with powdered Milk Bones) she went into the living room and sank into the couch, simultaneously flipping on the TV and setting her tea on a coaster. Before she knew it, the Dog Eat Dog reality show had plunged her into a boredom-inflicted nap.
A loud ring snapped Soren awake. The TV remote clattered to the floor as she bolted upright. The ring echoed through the apartment again. The doorbell.
Soren got up, flicked on the light (it's dark, how long did she nap?) and headed for the door. She opened it, and almost closed it again.
A tall, muscular Doberman and a similarly outfitted Rottweiler stood there. One flashed her a gold badge, and offered their names.
"I'm Detective Archand, this is Detective Wolff. I'm afraid we have some bad news..." said the Doberman.
"Come in." Soren stepped back and let them through. She closed the door after them.
The two Detectives made themselves at home on the couch, while Soren took the recliner...Tyler's recliner. He wouldn't be too thrilled if he found out she'd sat in it, but she was Alpha, so he wouldn't say anything.
"We need to ask you a couple of questions, regarding your roommate Genesis." Said Archand.
Soren felt a pang of dread shoot through her stomach. She felt her mouth dry up, but forced a swallow.
"She still lives here, right?"
"Um, yes." Soren said.
"How long has she lived with you?"
"About two years."
"Who all lives here?"
"Me, my mate Tyler, and Kyliger. And Genesis, of course."
"Does Genesis have any mates, or partners to speak of?" asked the Rottweiler, Wolff.
"Not that I'm aware of."
"Where have you been all night?"
"Sleeping on the couch. Genesis left about an hour post-noon. I made tea, and sat on the couch. I must've been asleep for a while..." Soren trailed off as she noticed the clock on the wall.
"Have you heard from your friend since she left?" Archand resumed questioning.
"No. She doesn't normally call unless she's gone overnight or longer." Soren picked up on their secretive nature, and decided to call them on it. "What happened? What aren't you telling me?"
The police dogs looked at each other. Then Wolff looked down at his paws, and Archand looked straight into Soren's eyes.
"I'm truly sorry, but the body of Genesis was found dumped by the river uptown."
Soren froze. Body? Dumped? That couldn't be right. Genesis was a born fighter, she was always protecting Soren. She was always fierce, and powerful, and never backed down. Soren leaned back in the recliner, letting her eyes close slowly. She felt a tear slide down her cheek.
"I'm really, truly, sorry. The Chief wants to speak with you. It was a homicide, so there is a chance you could bring her back." Archand bumped Wolff to stop playing with his claws. Wolff bared his teeth a bit, then resumed his paw-picking.
Soren looked up at the two cops.
"When my mate gets home, I'll be there."
"Ok." The dogs got up, and Archand set his business card on the coffee table. "That's the station's address. He'll be there all night. Ask for Chief Riley. Once again, I'm really sorry."
They left, and Soren went back to the couch. She plopped down, and put her face in her hands.
Tyler got home from work early, and the pair drove to the station. Sure enough, Genesis was on a slab in the back. The Chief joined them a minute later.
"I'm terribly sorry for your loss." He shook their paws. "I have something that might make you feel better, though. Come with me."
The three went to Chief Riley's office.
Tyler took Soren's paw in his warm, soft, black one. He gently swirled the fur on her wrist. Soren peeked at her loving black lab out of the corner of her eye.
The Chief pulled a thin file from the filing cabinet next to him.
"Genesis was the victim of a homicide, which gives you the oppurtunity to get her back. You will need two things: you need to vouch for her, basically saying she's a good soul who deserves to live, and something to offer the Hellhounds for passage to the Council. The Hellhounds are the guardians of the underworlds, and won't let you through without a fight. They won't accept everything. If they don't like what you brought, well, you'll become their slave. And that is about as fun as giving an enema to a brontosaurus." Chief Riley paused, letting it sink in.
"So, we need me, the killer, and an offering for the Hounds?" Soren asked.
"Yep. That's one thing both Heaven and Hell agree on; murder is unfair. This law was set for creatures like your friend here, who are honest and loyal. All we need to do here, is keep Genesis' body preserved, and out in the open, so when her soul returns, it'll have somewhere to go." Riley closed the file folder, and took a sip of his coffee. He stuck his tongue out at it, and set it back down. He buzzed the receptionist in to get him a new cup.
"Ok. Point us the way." Soren said, leaning forward in her chair. Chief Riley pulled a map from the desk, and handed it to them. Soren snatched it away from Tyler.
The pair left the police station, and headed straight home. They rounded up a few supplies, hussled Kyliger into going, and left.
Kyliger followed close behind Tyler as they approached the cave. A slight breeze wafted from the tunnel. Kyliger shivered, sending golden ripples down his red-colored fur. Kyliger was Tyler's little brother, and usually was begging to go everywhere with him, but when he heard they were going to Hell, he ran for it. It took a while, but Kyliger gave in.
"This wasn't my idea." said Kyliger, licking his chops with what little saliva was left.
"I'm not letting her stay any longer down there." Soren plunged into the darkness. She stood a minute to let her eyes adjust, and continued on. Kyliger grabbed Tyler's tail as they entered.
Tyler whirled on his Lab mix brother, teeth bared. "Stop acting the part of a sissy!"
"Come on guys." Soren called from ahead. They started walking.
They soon found, that the further they walked, the cooler it got. It felt like they were walking down a hill, but seriously, how far could it go? Kyliger had finally gotten over his childish fear, and strutted ahead of the others, proud of his rare fur color, and boasting his invisible strengths.
Tyler slipped his paw in Soren's reassuringly, giving her that little smile that melted her to pieces. She smiled back.
After walking almost six miles, they arrived in a cavern. Through the middle of the cavern ran a dark, murky river. A wooden bridge spanned the river, leading to a path on the opposite shore. A paw-painted sign stated that the Council was across the bridge, and a mile down the path.
Soren wondered aloud if they were so close, how come the Hellhounds hadn't shown up? Tyler shushed her, saying maybe the Hounds would leave them alone. As soon as Tyler finished talking, Kyliger raced up to them, and cowered next to Tyler.
"Too late." Tyler muttered.
From all across their field of vision, enourmous dogs began appearing. They stood on all fours, and had paws the size of watermelons. Long, wicked claws erupted from each toe on all four paws. They had thin, but muscular legs, and ripped bodies. They were a pale, reddish-black color, with long, thick tails. Their faces were reminiscent of French bulldogs; long and narrow, but with a thicker muzzle, and rows of identical, sharp fangs. One of the Hounds had black, tiger-like stripes, and three horns on the tip of his muzzle, the longest one at the end, the shortest further in, and the medium one in the middle. A row of black fins ran the length of his back, starting at his neck. They were about six inches tall at his neck, tapering down to a mere inch at the tailtip.
They formed a half-circle around the trio, leaving only the bridge as a way of escape. After studying the muscles of her opponents, Soren knew they could easily scale the river, so that was out. Maybe they would reason?
The scaled one let out a howl, kind of a cross between a loud growl, a whine, and a shriek. The others let shorter, quieter howls erupt, until the cavern was filled with the echoes of the Hounds.
He stepped closer to the group.
"My name is Ridren, leader of the Hellhounds. What business have you here?"
"We came to free my best friend. She was murdered and-" Soren started to say.
"My my, you are an impressive specimen." Ridren stepped closer, feeling Soren with his eyes. She stopped talking. She felt Tyler's heartbeat quicken. This could mean a battle.
"I'm mated already." Soren stated, then quickly wished she hadn't. Tyler dug a claw into her palm.
"That's too bad. What have you brought for passage to the Council?" Ridren sat on his haunches, exposing an abnormally large ballsac. His penis tip was starting to poke out, and glistened slightly from the dull light in the cavern. Tyler must've noticed, because his claws dug deeper into Soren's paw.
Soren looked back at Kyliger, who had been carrying the bags. He reached into one, but couldn't find it, then tried another bag. Ridren launched at Kyliger, and stole the bags.
"That'll do." he said, tossing the bags over his shoulder.
"We can pass?" Tyler said through clenched teeth.
"No, not yet. Leave the young male with me. You can have him back when you leave." Ridren sat back down. This time, the penis was out another inch or so, and still just as wet.
Kyliger sank to the ground and grabbed Tyler's leg. Soren felt Tyler flinch as Kyliger sunk his claws in.
"Come on, I know you haven't got all day. We'll take good care of him. We won't hurt him...too bad." the Hellhound leader stood, his penis hanging three or four inches, and dripping this time. "You'll get him back on the way out. We may look untrustworthy, but a Hellhound never goes back on his word."
Tyler leaned down to Kyliger, and spoke with him a minute. Soren massaged her paw, while waiting for Tyler and Kyliger. She felt Ridren's eyes undressing her again. Finally, Kyliger let go of Tyler, and stood up. He took a couple steps toward Ridren. The leader motioned with his heavy paw, and another Hound approached.
"This is Raddik, my cousin. He'll be the keeper." Ridren allowed Raddik to collar Kyliger, and lead him away. Kyliger never looked back as the Hound took him back into the darkness.
Tyler grabbed Soren's paw agin, but without claws.
"Go now, and hurry before I include you in the offering package." Ridren attempted a smile at Soren. Tyler whirled for the bridge, towing Soren behind him. They raced across, pausing to look back. The Hounds had already gone.
The pair walked side by side on the path. After several silent minutes, another cavern appeared. This one, however, was well lit, and had an inviting feel. Wrought iron gates blocked their entrance. As they approached, the gates creaked open, and a guard escorted them through. Two more guards stood at the gates, watching the landscape.
"Can't be too careful. Those Hellhounds would love nothing more than to charge in here and wreak havoc on the city. Enjoy your stay." the guard left them.
The city was huge. There was a cobblestone road leading straight to the heart, which was down in a shallow valley, surrounded by thousands of buildings. Despite being underground, the city had a homey feel to it. Soren and Tyler assumed the heart of the city was where the Council would be, so they started down the road towards it.
Kyliger was tossed into a room, and locked in alone. He curled up in a corner hidden from view of anyone coming in. There was a normal amount of furniture: a bed, a dresser, a nightstand, and a desk. The room was lit by torches mounted to the stone walls. It was obviously someone's bedroom.
The door creaked, and swung open. Kyliger ducked down even more. Ridren and Raddik entered. Ridren said something quietly to Raddik, then left. Raddik locked the door.
"Where are you my pet? It's time to play..." Raddik wandered over to the bathroom, peeked in. Kyliger buried his face in his arms.
"Ah. There you are." Raddik padded over to Kyliger, who was wedged inbetween the bed and the wall. Raddik reached down and grabbed Kyliger's collar, pulling him up to his feet.
"You are a beautiful one." Raddik tossed Kyliger on the bed with one easy motion, and quickly tied the helpless dog to the bedposts. Raddik climbed over Kyliger, standing with his chest over Kyliger's face. His penis was fully out, and dripping wet. Kyliger wiggled underneath, trying to escape the drips.
Raddik held the dog's head in his huge paws, and gave him a long, wet lick. He lowered himself down to Kyliger's anus, which was not in the best position for this style, and rubbed the two together. Once satisfied, he shoved his shaft deep into Kyliger, pulling a yelp from the tied lab. He shoved once more to ensure a good fit, letting Kyliger erupt again with another yelp and whimpers. Raddik licked Kyliger's chest, and nuzzled his chin. Kyliger relaxed after a few minutes, and began to fall into rhythm with the Hound's thrusting. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all.
Tyler entered the building first. Soren followed, totally in awe of the architecture. The Council had it made! The entryway was round, with tall columns made of some kind of marble holding up a glass dome. Each glass panel had a painting; one depicted a warrior ram slaying some lizard-thing, another was a beautiful she-wolf dressed like a princess, and one more had a group of Hellhounds kneeling over some bloody carcass. Soren pointed out that the panels were kind of odd. One pretty, one ugly, patterned all around the dome.
Tyler led the way to where the dome turned into an ordinary building. A sign stood on gold posts, with gold lettering depicting where to go for what. Records, left. Living Records, left. Council, right. Council Hall, right. Administrative, straight.
"So we go right." Soren took the role of navigator, and walked down the hall. There was nothing on the walls, except the windows. The left side was just rock. They walked all the way to a pair of doors marked 'Council Hall'. A petite female wolf was sitting at a desk, looking very much preoccupied with whatever she was working on.
She glanced up at the two dogs, and back down at her paperwork.
"You here to see the Council?" she asked.
"Yes." Soren said.
"What for? Do you have any idea how many creatures come here to seek answers? Don't waste our time."
"My best friend was murdered, and I'm here to get her back." Soren said almost too harshly. Tyler grabbed her paw, and squeezed. Soren backed off.
"Oh." the receptionist looked up. "You speak of Genesis? The she-hybrid?"
"Yes."
"Oh, good. The Council will be pleased. She's been putting up quite a ruckus. She's upsetting the other souls waiting for judgement. Wait one minute." she picked up a phone. "Sir? There is two creatures here to see about releasing Genesis. Mmmm hmmm. Yes sir, I will. Ok sir." she hung up. "The Council will see you."
Soren and Tyler pushed through the double doors, and into a large room. It looked like a typical court room, except there was a large scale where a judge would normally sit. The walls were painted black, with cherry wood benches and tables. There were two stands on either side of the scale, facing the rows, where the Council sat. From in back somewhere, a voice called out: "Come on back!" It was followed by laughter, and the clinking of glass.
They entered a door, and were almost too shocked to speak.
There are seven Council members. Three from Hell, three from Heaven, and one mediator. All seven of them were reclining in a huge jacuzzi, drinking some type of alcohol, each with a female settled on their laps, or curled at their sides.
"Maybe they agree on more than just 'murder is unfair'," Tyler whispered. Soren stifled a snicker, and instead asked who she needs to talk to about freeing her friend.
"All of us, my pet." said the tall lion, who Soren assumed was the mediator. "My name is Archernar. I'm the mediator here. Neither right nor left, I stand alone inbetween. So, you want to free Genesis?" Archernar rose from the water, grabbing a towel as he did.
"Yes, sir. I want to vouch for her. Her body is in the morgue." Soren said.
"Ha ha! My dear, you don't need to vouch for Genesis. I know her heart is pure, as is yours. She's been causing quite a bit of chaos down there, so we'll be glad to see her go back." Archernar laughed. He walked over to them. "Follow me."
Archernar led them out to the scale.
"Just for the Recordkeeper's sake, I need to weigh you anyways. Servant!" the mediator snapped his fingers, and a guard appeared. "Go fetch Genesis. It's time for her to be weighed."
"Yes sir." the guard ran out.
"Climb up here." Archernar pushed the right side of the scale down so Soren could climb up. She sat in the middle, her weight keeping the scale from going back to equal. Tyler stood back a little.
The guard reentered with Genesis in tow. She saw Soren, and screeched with joy. The guard helped her up onto the other side of the scale.
"You aren't dead too, are you?" Genesis asked.
The scale bobbed a little.
"Of course not. We came down to take you home." Soren answered.
The scale began to even out.
"Aaaaww. I knew you were a good friend." Genesis said.
The scale stopped moving. Soren and Genesis were equally honest and pure.
Soren was then asked to step down, and the guard gave Archernar a feather. It wasn't just any feather, though.
"The rare fire Phoenix feather." Archernar held it up so everyone could see. It was all shades of red, orange, and yellow, with gold lining the stem and tip. The whole feather had a shimmery, silvery, sheen to it. It was around ten inches long, and had a slight curve, which was interrupted with a twist.
The mediator set the feather down on the scale, and waited.
The scale righted itself, then bobbed a little. Genesis eyed the feather.
"The Phoenix is the purest animal, being neither hybrid, nor anthro. They are rare; I've never seen one, and probably never will. Legend says the Phoenix blesses only one creature per hundred years with its feathers. The feather is believed to have healing and judgemental powers." Archernar looked over at the scale. It had stopped moving. The plate the feather was on was about six inches higher than Genesis' plate.
"Is that good?" Tyler asked.
"Actually, thats the best I've seen in a long time. Normally, the feather lands about here." the lion held his paw roughly seven or eight inches higher. "Genesis, you are free to go."
Suddenly, Genesis disappeared off the plate. Archernar took the feather, and gave it back to the guard. The guard disappeared.
"Your police friends should be welcoming her back right about now. She's lucky to have friends like you. Oh, when you leave, you may be in for a surprise." the lion mediator dusted off the scale.
"What?" Soren said.
"Raddik. He's never been into females. Every now and then, he takes a young pup of whatever breed he feels like, and they become mated. But, Hellhounds can live for hundreds of years longer than anthros, so they could be mated several times. Raddik may have fallen for your little one, and if that's the case, you won't get him back unless it's his choice to stay. Don't worry, though. The Hellhounds are not all evil. When they mate, they take the new one in as part of them. They take good care of their own."
Tyler was speechless. Soren looked over at her lab, the way his tail was still, and his eyes seemed glazed. She didn't know what to say. Kyliger was his little sibling. Tyler'd practically raised him!
"You should get moving. Genesis'll be waiting for you. Don't worry. Things will work out." Archernar poofed the fur on Tyler's head, and disappeared.
"Let's go, pet." Soren said, holding out her paw. Tyler took it, and they left together.
Raddik lay next to Kyliger, thoroughly exhausted. He gazed into Kyliger's eyes, and Kyliger gazed right back.
The lab mix was unsure of his feelings. He wanted to be with this Hound, but knew he'd been acquired like a heirloom, instead of like normal matings. He had never even been with a female, but he could achieve highs he knew no she-dog could ever give him. He'd get the submissive, and the dominant. He also knew that Tyler would be back. Ridren had made a promise, though.
As if knowing Kyliger's thoughts, he said "You can stay if it's your choice."
Kyliger sat up (he'd been untied during the play). "You mean that?"
"Only if it's your choice." Raddik sat up next to Kyliger.
"I want to stay. I'm feeling more...empowered. I don't feel like a pup anymore. I like it."
"Ok. We'll go and tell Ridren. You know you have to tell your brother."
Kyliger nodded. "Don't worry about it."
Tyler and Soren crossed the bridge. Soren caught a peek into the water, and saw something long and sleek, with hundreds of fins, swim under the bridge.
Just like earlier, the Hellhounds materialized out of the rocks. Ridren stepped forward, with Raddik and Kyliger.
"Ty?" Kyliger said. "I have something to tell you..."
Soren and Tyler had been invited to a dinner feast provided by the Hounds. Tyler seemed unusually happy. "He found his happy place." he had said. Soren thought maybe he'd had too much to drink. Kyliger and Raddik retired early. Several of the Hounds left as well over the next half hour.
When the body count was only three Hounds, Ridren, Tyler, and Soren, Ridren made an announcement.
"I was wondering, if the two of you would like to partake in a leisure activity we use to relax with? You don't have to, of course, but it'd be something you may travel all the way here just to enjoy regularly." Ridren's penis poked up just above the table. It was glistening.
Tyler leaned close, and said "You're the Alpha." Soren looked at him, then said "Ok."
"Follow me." Ridren led them all out of the feast hall, and through a series of passages. He left a slight trail of semen, which Tyler told Soren they could follow if they all got seperated. Then he busted up laughing and stumbled over his own paws. Soren picked him up and caught up with the group.
They ended up in a large chamber, with only a couple torches on the wall, and hundreds of pillows lining the floor.
Ridren closed the door. Tyler leaned in and licked Soren's neck. One of the hounds grabbed another, and they began to pound each other. The third Hound joined in, getting simultaneously licked and blown. Tyler and Soren fell to the floor, joined by Ridren, who mounted Soren from behind. He pushed himself deep into her ass, forcing her to fall forward onto Tyler. Tyler wiggled under her, and slid up into the familiar canal. Soren was being thrust from two ways, going in two different directions. It felt so good! Ridren licked the back of her neck, then began to nibble on her ear. Soren could see his long, blunt horn out of the corner of her eye, and suddenly wanted to ride it. She managed to detach from the two males, and motioned for what she wanted, but Ridren already seemed to know. She layed on top of Tyler, who began pushing up into her anus.
The Hellhound leader slid down, and drove the horn up into Soren. She arched her back, only to have Tyler pull it back down. Ridren lapped up Soren's cum while he sexed her with the horn. The other three Hellhounds wanted some fun too, so they rolled over. One began licking Tyler's head, and the other two jumped in where they could. One had Ridren's penis in his mouth, the other trying to ride the one on Tyler.
Soren had never felt like this before, and had to agree with Ridren: her and Tyler would be back.
