[The main issue in creating this chapter was that I created this chapter in the mindset to introduce one of my friend's characters. None of them thought they could fit the Bounty Hunter/Mercenary except one who gave me little information. The role was filled with the memories of a friend I have forgotten but haven't been in touch with for many years. Expect another chapter within a week]

Kite sighed, "Well I am still going to beat him even if he did get kidnapped." He pulls out a pencil and begins to do homework . His answers couldn't possibly be all right not while he was distracted thinking about the circumstances that wrapped itself around Syrus.

It all just sounded like freakishly bad luck, he thought of all connected events, a full moon, a upcoming test, a birthday, some type of event surrounding his father. To him who was on the outside a full moon the only thing remaining after logic and lack information rule out the rest sounded hardly logical. Even with wrong answers the homework counted as complete, he went to the dojo to train and focus his wandering mind.

Ordia had completed the drive testing on the subject acquired. Of course all of her research and findings would be simply obfuscated so that hodgepodge didn't know. The speed that she had the driver take also ruled out that she did anything through but it was all written. She played the disheveled and rushing delivery man.

"We have the subject I suggest doing tests while the wounds still exist." as they brought Syrus in via stretcher. Hodgepodge with sarcasm remarks "Well duh! Put him into the stasis tubes and hurry up." He growled, he typed into the computer a set of instructions that would carry out procedures that gather up the appropriate information.

"Age, weight, height, compared to hospital information, foreign substances in the body, brain wave changes, structure changes" he thinks out loud as he types code at an incalculable speed. "Sedatives to slow the changes and keep the subject immobile. I think that covers it" he says. He looks at the watch and inputs the time the procedure started.

Yeah when having one's body put into a container filled with liquid, one would normally wake up. Syrus's eyes open-wide with surprise, closing again as everything is tinted green. It hurt his eyes to either open or close them afterward. He tried to swim upwards but by the time he came around to doing that, there was a nice solid metal lid overhead.

He held his breath but eventually had to let the fluids invade his lungs, feeling like he was drowning he coughs the water before blinking and realizing that he was not suffocating, not yet at least. Bubbles flowed from beneath him most likely delivering what he needed through the fluid he was immersed. Hodgepodge in Syrus's shock has needles prick him on either side to administer the sedative, not that he couldn't of had it infused with the tube's contents.

"Hmm, wait whats that?" He says looking at Syrus who looks oddly back. "Is this the right kid? His hair is a bit longer than I remember" mumbling to himself adding a final string of code to take a hair sample. It wasn't everyday that they had elaborate plans to kidnap someone for researching. This would be their first live subject. Hodgepodge hopes to himself that this will make all the difference but if not its just another body to dispose.

Since Hodgepodge covered all the regular things Ordia had to pretend as if she was coming up with tests that would add information, she would include reaction speed, response to electricity at non lethal levels, temperature, and some if they believed he was actually 'infected' like wound recovery. Thinking to herself as hodgepodge goes off and takes a break curiosity propels her to check beneath the bandages he was wrapped in at the hospital.

She opened her mouth as she saw that the wounds he acquired that put him into a emergency room in critical condition were already gone. She could have sworn that along the ride to this place that the wounds were quite fresh still. She inputs a code to have the bandages removed and disposed off and another string to clear the code she input after it was completed.

This subject might have indeed been worth more than she thought, but with no plans to get him out of here she grits her teeth as she believes hodgepodge will eventually catch up to her tests and make the same conclusions. "This might be the key to mortality extension" she thinks to herself seeing no drops in any of his vitals after finishing up such a powerful process.

Kite had his squad of people searching high and low but there was another person with a bit more information that didn't let this kidnapping end with complete success. A few hours after the event a phone call would reach a local cafe called "Croco Cafelo?" A voice on the other end disguised says, "Hand the phone over to the first mercenary"

Mercenary work was a self employed business and the most successful or planned ones wouldn't be working a week end even if it was just Friday. Krist on the other hand was there, a shady man who sat at a table alone. He was known as quite the character alone he had conquered many bounties his total profits were in the millions. He had a mixup in his plans next week an thus was determined to bite on the first job no matter how little it paid this time.

The same man wearing a black cloak and gas mask as his fingers weaved between each other had the second highest bounty in town of which a million alone came from vigilantism. Sure that would mean he had a lot of enemies but here at Croco Cafelo the owner named "The[Thee] Coffee Aussie" made sure not a drop of coffee was split on his watch making this place a haven for lucrative business. He was also the one with the highest bounty in town.

"Mercenary?" said the cafe tender and the cloaked man with midnight blue hair and ear piercings would make flight from his seat and flip over to the nearest stool.

"That's for me..." he says to the keep. He answers, "Down to business and to the point..." the voice on the phone answers, "Good, there was a child kidnapped from a local hospital, I have been tracking them but I have other things to do. Take out any witnesses and complete the rescue and you will be paid." Krist merely pauses in silence at that comment before saying afterward "How?"

The voice responds, "I know all about you Krist... I'll have the amount directly deposited... but if you don't believe me walk out side and to the alleyway." As Krist walks outside he looks around he didn't see any trace of life, same with the alleyway closest to an exit. Though he quickly spots a briefcase, inside there was at least ten thousand.

"Upfront pay... mission starts in 2 hours within 4 from that time the human subject who will have long black hair looking to be in his younger teen years will need to have been saved. Drop him off either at an orphanage or this estate" The address was the Sky-height residence also known as Kite's family estate. On the other end the phone hung up. It was assumed that by touching that briefcase at all that he had no choice but to accept the mission.

"Easiest buck I ever made" he says to himself getting into his car, first he took a cruise around town, for the most part to locate his mission objective. He scoped out the area around the building. From the outside it looked like a factory. He noted the windows where entry would be the easiest and if he used a glass cutter, also the stealthiest. The time the mission was scheduled was nightfall perfect for his dark outfit, though the room would be lit.

"Smoke bomb, cutter, hookshot, bola, taser, tranq gun, neck ripper." He mumbles to himself to gather the neccesary items, it was never too soon to prepare for a mission.

Dr. Hodgepodge was for the most part not impressed by the boy's rather normal vitals. "Let's see what she proposes I should test in order to get something interesting out of him" He reads and goes straight for electricity first of course being the more dangerous of the submitted. For the sedated Syrus it hurt at first, incredibly. It must've been the water.

After the intial bursts though hodgepodge could see it was exciting Syrus, as in Syrus was able with its help to fight the sedatives. "I don't know if this boy is just stubborn or if this is the result of the test" he grumbles and turns off the electricity. As quick as the power was turned off was the speed in which a response from Syrus would disappear.

Just as hodgepodge began the injury and regeneration test the power would cut off. "Who turned off the lights? Somebody turn on the emergency generator and lock all the doors. He had a feeling that whatever caused this wasn't a lack in their budget, after all there was no expense he wouldn't pay.
