Kero finished the last little bits of detail on the katana and admired it with pride. The bamboo handle was wrapped in black canvas and the blade was sharp enough to cut through most materials. Kero gripped the handle expertly and went through some practiced motions, testing the blade. He turned towards a post he set up. This was the final test. The post was made of oak and was a good four by four inches of solid wood. He held the blade steadily and brought it down at an angle against the post.
A perfect cut. The blade chopped through it as if it were air, no resistance whatsoever. He beamed happily at his creation. His new process made it possible and he would now have the sharpest blades around. He set the blade aside and grabbed his cloak from the wall and headed outside. Mena needed to hear about this. Kero knocked on the door of the house and as before, Jasper opened it to greet him. "Is Mena at home?"
Jasper blushed and nodded. "Please come in." He replied, stepping to the side.

The bull looked up from a manuscript he was reading. "Kero! Good to see you! What brings you here?"
Kero dropped onto the couch and grinned. "I finished the blade."
"For the Emperor's man?" Mena quizzed, rolling the scroll up and removing his reading glasses.
Kero nodded and beamed wider. "It's the sharpest blade I've ever made... in fact..." He paused, stretching a little. "I think it might be the sharpest blade ever created."
"Oh.... pfft... So humble we are..." Mena leaned back in his chair and chuckled.
"No resistance... at all." Kero said seriously.
Mena blinked and leaned forward. "What?"

"How'd you do that?" Mena was smiling now as well.
"I combined two metals... one that would keep the blade strong, and another that could hold an edge sharper than a snake's tongue. With them side be side it stays razor sharp and tough as a diamond. Then I folded them over and over, pounding them flat" He made motions with his hands excitedly, tail wagging behind him. "and after folding it over a few times I had my creation."
Mena clapped and leaned back. "Truly amazing... maybe the emperor will come back to you for one for himself."
Kero sighed happily. "That would be amazing... however, I can't stay... I need to finish up something at home, in fact, are you busy? I could use some help."
Shaking his head, Mena stood up and cracked his neck both ways. "Sorry, I've got something I need to do... why don't you take Jasper with you, have him help, just send him back when you're done."
Kero fought with all his might to keep his tail from wagging. "Alright, I'll do that then. Thanks."
The wolf found Jasper in the kitchen, putting away the last of the dishes. "Jasper..."
Jasper turned on his heel and blushed. "Y-yes?"
"You're to come with me. Mena said that you would help me seeing as how he's busy." He grinned and gave the blushing fox a wink.
Jasper smiled a little and nodded. "O-okay!"

Kero closed the door behind them and sighed happily. "This is where I live. What do you think?"
Jasper walked around freely for a few seconds. "It's very... uh.... cozy..." He beamed back at Kero, tail wagging.
The wolf nodded and pulled Jasper into his arms, kissing him hard, his tongue slipping past the fox's velvety lips.
