Forty-Seven

(Hey, so this is the first story I'm writing that belongs in a real world setting where I actually lived!! All the stores that will be named are local and on Main Street!! Hehe, I might be getting sexual later on but just bear with me a bit.)

The grandhall lit by moonlight streaming through the windows, a slight breeze down the marble pass. Chill winter air whistled through, the silence making the sound deafening to all still awake to hear. The wee hours of the dawn where always like this and as the light grew shadows of the pillars cast down upon the marred flooring of the castle, sunlight glinting from the silver trimming, something that the princess took pride in.

Woken from her slumber by the light coming in from her balcony doors the princess placed her cold feet upon the floor, little toes curling as the frost shocked them awake. She put on her floral silk robe, her gauntlets, put the strawberry and rose inside her hair, they forever encased in silver, her sword on her side, wrapped in frost covered wolf fur. Today she was prepared like all other mornings, no gaurds wandered her hall it was just her and a few consorts which usually scattered back to the fields to tend to their gardens once morning came.

Argentum stretched, her silver knee length hair flowing around her body in the wind that took it, dainty little fangs poking from her ruby red lips, a pair of wings folded upon the five-foot-three girl's back like a drape, soft feathers whispering over the silk.

Coffee... she thought, moving over to the makeshift kitchen in her bedchamber... one of the few human conveniences she allowed herself in the fae world. She grabbed her mug, a simple thing she had been given by a human during her last visit.

She started the pot, but wouldn't finish as she was torn from the room as if by some strange magick.

Forced through a column, flying faster than the speed of light she had lost her robe, her gauntlets and ankle bracers the only thing left upon her being as she was whisked away only to fall in the middle of a forest clearing.

"Shit.. There goes my clothes." she growled before a beam of light surrounded her, while no one was around to see she shifted in a process that was all breaking bones, restitching muscles, snapping ligament, and all over pain and growth as a wolf five feet exact to the haunch appeared before her, it's sterling pelt making it almost unrecognizable in the daylight.

Surveying the surroundings she seemed to deem it Pennsylvania, by the smell of the wood around her, the tree covered mountain painted orange, red, and gold in the distance, the smell of rain and river not so far... Catawissa.. towards the Susquehanna right over the bridge to Bloomsburg closer to the mall. She recalled the spot she had last visited, so rare was it to see a wolf in those parts but it were possible.

"Ain't this fucking dandy..." she rolled her eyes, beginning to dart through the trees in search of sustenance.

One-two, three-four, one... she galloped, keeping her cadence until she found a beautiful white-tail doe. Stalking ever so silently the beast tried to bring no attention whether by the snap of a still-wet twig or the crunch of leaves and pine needles under her paws, she was silent, deadly and it was shown with one powerful lunge, her leg muscles compressing and contracting as she launched herself into the air, leaving the terra to land upon the doe's back, the weight of her metal crashing down upon it, knocking the small female over until her dagger fangs dug into the jugular, killing her meal almost instantly.

She dug into her meal, her nose wrinkling with the earthy taste of the fresh blood.

It's not coffee... but it will do until I can find a decent guise... I think they put in a Starbucks next to the Cloak and Dragon in Bloom... I'll just show up there, the old woman will be surprised.
