Star-Crossed Lovers Act I
Star-Crossed Lovers
Back in the middle ages cities of old would fight with each other for power and wealth. This tale focuses on two particular cities: the city of nightingale and the city of Killeen, and how they would learn that hatred and violence only brings sorrow and death.
"Adam this is - amazing, just amazing I can see both cities from up here." Amir shouted in delight as he took in the vast landscape before him dotted with low mountains, lush forestry, beautiful rivers and most importantly the two cities that are nestled atop two adjoining hilltops. The cities themselves are beautiful in their own right, finely crafted with only the best materials, though combined with the beauty of nature the cities look like god himself took a piece of heaven and placed it here. Breathing in deeply to enjoy the air Adam responded, "I know, I know the twin cities of aldmir look their best during high noon." Careful there Adam," Amir warned "you speaking dangerous talk there." "I care not for what others think as I imagine a day when we can tear down those walls and embrace the fosmer like kinfolk; I hate living in a day where a wrong move puts us at each other's throat faster than an arrow." Adam was building in rage angered by the fact he is the son of the most powerful man in nightingale, yet he could barely influence one of the townsfolk to walk twenty feet.
After several minutes of silent staring Adam said, "Amir I ask you this why are at odds with the fosmer?" "Because Adam they used guile, and lies to bring down our families and cause infighting." Adam finally able to tell someone what he believes unloaded unto Amir, "How do we know they struck first? Could we have delivered a preemptive strike because we were scared?" Amir began to back away as Adam moved closer each word more spiteful than the last. "Why won't we even discuss peace it's like - it's like peace is a unknown word to us and to them." Adam finally done with his venting looked up to see a scared Amir 10 feet away from him, Adam quickly changed his mood and tried to sooth Amir. "I'm sorry cousin, I didn't mean for you to see that side of me with all the stress and fighting it's been building up inside me for a long time and I had to let it out." Amir approached Adam and gave him a firm embrace and said, "It's okay, I think we seen enough how about we go back home and see how Mary is doing, eh?" Adam gaining a coy look quickly said, "Race ya!" "You're on!" they speedily departed the overlook playfully pushing each other to gain a lead on the way back home.
