Part 2 A New Partner

After putting the picture back and wiping away a tear, he

began to undress. He was down to his underwear when there came a

knock at his door. Without a second thought he said, "Enter" as

he pulled up his pistol. A fairly surprised Eric stood in the

doorway unable to speak, as he stared down the barrel of his gun.

Apologizing Reno said, "Oh, sorry about that pup. Reflexes

you know."

"Ah, yea.. right. Ok, I'll try and remember to make a bit

more noise next time. I was going.. to.." Eric's speech slowed as

he realized Reno was standing there only in his underwear. "ask..

you.. if.." Reno tilted his head and raised his eyebrows. "Oh,

ah, hot chocolate, yea that was it. Would you mind if I made

some? I'll even make you a cup if you like?"

"Yea, sure, I'll show you were the stuff's at."

Reno walked right by Eric and headed for the kitchen.

As they walked, Eric loved the way Reno's briefs hugged his body

with just enough pressure, so as not to disturb his perfect form.

When they reached the kitchen Eric almost forgot why they were

there.

At Eric's request, Reno took a seat at the kitchen table. As

the milk slowly warmed, Reno had Eric open up all the cabinets so

he could point out everything he might need. Between reaching up

to get the chocolate, and bending over to see the items in the

lower cabinets, Eric failed to noticed his loosely tied robe was

beginning to open.

Eric mixed in the chocolate and poured two cups. When he

turned around, Reno saw that the robe the young otter had on was

just beginning to open, and with each step Eric took, he also

noticed that the robe was all he was wearing.

"You have a well stocked kitchen. I take it you really like

to cook?" Eric remarked.

"Not really. I'm a microwave type of fur. Henry was the

gourmet cook. I had some of my best meals when he had a rough day

at work."

"Wouldn't you both have had a bad day, since you were

partners?"

Reno paused for a second before speaking, not really wanting

to talk about his ex, but felt it wouldn't hurt to explain the

reason to Eric. "No, Henry was always a bit sensitive. Some

things about the job got to him, where as the same crud wouldn't

bother me. Cooking was his way of relieving tension."

"Miss him?" Eric inquired.

Reno was afraid talking about his ex would only lead to more

questions. So to end the subject he put down his cup. He stood up

he said, "End of subject, and thank you for the chocolate." he

then walked out of the kitchen.

The next day at work when Eric was in with the Captain

turning in his report, he was informed that Reno had received

another death threat.

"Not to worry sir. We have already made a couple of changes

in the way Reno does things." Eric then looked over his shoulder

out to the squad room. "Ah, Captain. I can't seem to get any

information about Reno's old partner Detective Cain."

The large bear leaned back in his chair. "Best if you don't

try. It's something no one likes to talk about."

Eric leaned forward. "But Captain, I need to know if I'm

going to do my job to the fullest. I need to know how those two

got along both on and off the job. And I would like to know how

his partner died, so I don't say something stupid and get myself

in trouble with Detective Reno.., again."

After giving it some thought the bear leaned forward. "I'll

tell you just so you don't go around upsetting Reno by putting

your foot into your mouth, but not a word of this to anyone.

Reno and Henry went through the academy together. At some

point, they started trying to out do each other. From who scored

better on tests, out on the range, even seeing who would make

detective first. I think because of that little rivalry, they

became the two best enforcers this agency has seen in quite some

time. Anyway, the rivalry never interfered with their friendship.

They even rented a house together because neither liked living in

an apartment.

About two years ago, they were working on busting a major

smuggling and drug ring. They received a tip that something was

going down in a warehouse across town. It turned out to be just a

small time dealer making a buy. After the bust, Reno and Henry

were shot at. The first round took off the buyer's head. Reno

provided cover for Henry as he made his way to their cruiser,

while dragging the dealer along with him.

Halfway out, the dealer took a hit. Reno tried to stop the

bleeding, but the shot really tore him up. Just before he died he

started to talk. He said, that Reno and Henry were supposed to be

the targets because they were getting too close to the head fur.

When Reno asked who set up the hit, the dealer whispered "Rizzo."

He then added, if the sniper didn't get them, that the bomb

would. That was when the dealer died.

Reno ran to catch Henry, but the sniper pinned him down just

ten feet from the door. Reno looked out the window and saw Henry

crawling towards the cruiser. He tried to get to the door again,

but the sniper fired off another round, hitting a shelf, causing

some crates to fall over onto him. The sniper, thinking he had

hit Reno, stood up just in time to catch a round right between

the eyes.

After the shot, Reno freed himself and headed out to stop

Henry. The door closest to him had a lock on it, so he had to take

a second to shoot it off. Just as he stepped out of the building,

Henry was closing the door on the cruiser, so he never heard Reno

yell at him. Reno ran hoping to get Henry's attention but it was

too late.

The explosion was so great, there was almost nothing left of

the cruiser, and the blast knocked Reno back so hard that his

body left an impression on the side of the building.

Some enforcers two blocks away heard the explosion and

rushed to investigate. They were taken aback when a tire came

crashing down through the back window of their cruiser. They

drove up and found Reno unconscious by the building, and a twenty

foot hole in the ground where his cruiser use to be.

Reno was in the hospital for a week before he woke up asking

for Henry. When he was reminded of what had happened, it took

five enforcers to hold him down while the Doctor gave him a shot

to knock him back out. Now you know why no one here talks about

it."

Eric sat there stunned for a moment, and all he could think

to say was, "Wow.. And to think after all he went through, his

report was still that detailed."

"Even more detailed then that, with every word accounted for

and backed up by the warehouse's security cameras."

"Last question Captain. If the dealer fingered Rizzo, why

didn't any one arrest him?"

Sadly the Captain replied, "Not enough evidence and the

rat's airtight alibi, left us hanging. Reno still works on the

case, not with anyone's approval, but no one here is going to

stop him. We just hope he comes across something that will

finally put an end to it."

Eric slowly stood and began to walk out until the Captain

spoke up once again.

"One last thing Murphy. There were rumors that Reno and

Henry were more then just the best of friends. Now I really don't

care about a fur's personal life, unless it effects his

professional life. And now that you have teamed up with him, you

may get some looks. If you have a problem with that, you may want

to ask for a transfer right now."

"Don't worry about me sir. I don't have a problem with

that."

"Good, now get back to work."

The pair carried on as if nothing was wrong. Reno did his

job, with Eric giving him a hand every now and then. While

keeping track of Reno's habit's, watching to see if there could

be any potential problems.

Each night without Eric knowing, Reno would enter his room.

Most of the time, he would pull up the blanket and cover him, and

then he would take a quick glance at the young otter's new

artwork.

When Sunday came around, Reno woke Eric up early and the two

drove over to Eric's moms house.

"What are we doing here?" Eric asked.

"We are not here, you are. I'll be back at five to pick you

up. And don't worry about me, I'm heading to the station. Now get

out, your mom's expecting you. And don't even think about

leaving. Cause next time I'll hang out right here to make sure

you stay put."

That evening as soon as Eric entered the transport he said.

"So why did you ditch me here? You could have just left me at

your place, if you didn't want me hanging around."

"Because ever since you became an enforcer, you haven't

spent much time with your mother." Reno answered.

"How do you know that?"

"The look on her face when she saw you, and how eager she

was to have us stay for dinner. Your job may be important but

your family comes first."

Eric knew Reno was right. He just never seemed to have much

time to spend with his mom. The funny thing was, after thinking

about what Reno said, Eric felt closer to him then ever before.

He was now sure that the older otter had a sensitive side, a side

he seemed to keep hidden quite well.

That night as the two watched a movie, Eric drew another

sketch, it was one of Reno standing with his arms up above his

head. He was holding up a heart that had beams of light emanating

outwards. By the time the movie ended, he just finished the

drawing. He then realized that he had drawn himself into the

sketch. He was lying on the ground at Reno's feet, with the top

half of his body resting against one of the older Otters legs. He

had one hand wrapped around Reno's leg at knee height, while his

other hand was resting against the Otters inner-thigh just shy of

his crotch.

It was a warm night so Eric removed the blankets from the

bed, leaving only the sheet to cover himself if need be. It was a

bit too warm for his liking, and it made it hard for him to

sleep. He would wake up just long enough to think, 'It's too hot

to sleep.' Then he would drift back to sleep for another hour or

two. The next time he woke up he started to think, 'It's just

too--. Wait what's that noise?' He lay motionless until he heard

what sounded like pages being turned. He carefully rolled over,

and when he was ready he opened his eyes just enough to see

through the meager slits between his eyelids.

He was surprised to see Reno looking through his report

book, and was just about to confront him when he heard the otter

whisper, "Damn pup, you are good." So he held his place and

closed his eyes, only listening to whatever Reno had to say. Reno

never said another word about the artwork, but he did something

that was even more surprising. Eric felt Reno brush his head-fur

to one side, then he felt the thin sheet being pulled over him.

Once Reno had him tucked in, he whispered, "Sleep tight my

sweet artist."

Eric had to use all his will power so he wouldn't smile

before Reno had left the room. Once alone, Eric sat up, overly

excited about hearing Reno's last comment. He had a strange

feeling that his face was being pulled from the sides. He reached

up and realized he was smiling. Smiling wider then he had ever

smiled before. He stood hoping to shake off his smile, but as he

did, he noticed he was fully erect. He thought to himself, 'How

could such a simple compliment cause me such joy?' He then

remembered who had paid him that compliment.

When Eric woke up again, he looked towards the door and saw

Reno looking in. Eric propped himself up and called to him.

"Reno, would you please come over here." When the older otter

stood next to the bed, Eric reached up and boldly placed his hand

on Reno's thigh.

"Forgive me, but I can't keep this to myself any longer."

Reno lowered himself to his knees, so they were eye to eye. Eric

swallowed hard then continued to speak. "Reno, I have fallen for

you, and I want you." He pulled back the sheet revealing his

erect maleness to him. "See, whenever I think of you this is what

happens. Reno, I want you more then anything. But I need to know,

do I stand a chance with you?"

Reno smiled just before leaning in, giving the young otter a

deep kiss. As they kissed, Reno's hand came to rest on Eric's

chest. Eric reached over and placed his hand on top of his,

giving it a little squeeze. As their kiss heated up, Reno's hand

drifted down, skimming over the little Otters chiseled stomach.

He paused only briefly when his hand came upon the tuft of fur

that marked the beginning of Eric's most sensitive spot.

Reno pushed his hand lower until he felt the base of Eric's

shaft slid between his thumb and forefinger. As he brought his

fingers around, they gently slid over the Eric's sac. Reno

gripped the hard rod and began to paw him off.

Reno broke off their kiss and he shifted his body so he

could place a few kisses on Eric's chest, and when a kiss landed

on one of the young otter's raised paps, he moaned with pleasure.

The next thing he felt was Reno's tongue gently gliding over it

just before he lowered his mouth and began suckling. Eric placed

one hand on Reno's head and he began to run his fingers through

his head fur.

After a minute, Reno started moving down lower, planting

kisses as he drifted closer to his goal. When he was in place,

the older otter wasted no time in engulfing Eric's shaft.

Eric knew he was so excited that he wouldn't last long, but

when he felt his inner flow moving sooner then he wanted, he

tried to stop it by gritting his teeth and tightening his

muscles, but it was too late. In a strained tone he cried out,

"Nooo, too soon." as he released his seed. The spasm that shook

his body was so extreme, it caused him to sit up. To help balance

himself, he reached out to hold on to the older otter, but he

wound up grasping at nothing.

When his body crashed back down, he opened his eyes and

looked around, discovering that what had happened had been

nothing but a dream. As his breathing slowed and his mind

cleared, he softly smiled and drifted back off to sleep.

The next morning Eric had breakfast ready when Reno walked

into the kitchen. During the meal, he kept glancing over to Reno

remembering his wonderful dream, and this practice went on at

each meal. During dinner, Reno sat at the table staring at Eric.

The young otter began to feel a bit uneasy, and when he couldn't

take it, he put down his knife and fork and looked back at the

older otter.

"Okay I give. What's wrong with the steak, or do you even

know, since you haven't even taken a bite of it yet."

In a calm tone Reno replied. "I don't believe there will be

anything wrong with it. There hasn't been anything wrong with any

of the meals you've made. I just thought you might like to know

what it feels like having some fur staring at you for no apparent

reason."

That's when it hit him, he had been staring so much that

Reno noticed it. "I'm sorry, it's just I've been doing a lot of

thinking... And ah,.. May I ask you something personal about your

old partner Henry?"

Reno's eyes narrowed and he began to push himself away from

the table. But something made him stop. Something in Eric's eyes

seemed so familiar. Reluctantly he gave out a sigh and said,

"What?"

"Do you think you will ever find another partner like him?"

Reno was quick to respond. "No!.. Sorry, I mean not like

him. There will be only one Henry."

Eric looked down and with his fork he gave his mashed-

potatoes a couple of little pushes as he softly said, "Oh."

Reno knew he had to explain his answer. "Look, someday

you'll find a partner like no other. You will get along so well,

and over time you'll even know what he is thinking. Henry was

that kind of partner to me. We became so close we moved in

together. Our work, hobbies and general attitudes were so closely

matched, it was like we were one, though we did have our moments.

Now I might find another partner, but no fur could ever take

Henry's place. My new partner might become someone very special

to me, but it will be on a different level." Reno looked down for

a second. "Sorry, I'm not to good at expressing this kind of

stuff. If Henry was here, I would have you talk to him, he always

seemed to know what to say when it came to talking about

feelings. In my case, I would just walk by you, shake your hand

or hit you. You might say, I express my feelings more at the

street level."

"That's ok, I understand what you're trying to say. I'll

just say Henry was one lucky fur to have you as his partner and

friend. I only hope I get as lucky to have someone like you for

my partner and friend... But you may have a little bit of trouble

finding a new partner, if you don't let the Captain assign you

one."

"Just between us pup. I know all of the detectives at the

precinct. The only two that might make a good partner already

have one. So until I can find a new detective whom with I can get

along with, I'll stay single.. a single detective that is."

Shyly Eric responded, "I took the detectives test. When I

pass, maybe.. you know.."

Reno gave out a small chuckle. "Make sure you pass it first.

And besides, wouldn't you want some fur closer to your own age?"

"You're not that much older then me. After all I am twenty-

five." Eric replied promptly.

"You'll be twenty-five three months from now." And as Reno

started washing the evening dishes he mumbled, "That puts me just

shy of being fifteen years your senior." He shook his head. "When

you say it like that, it sure sounds like a lot."

Eric came up and put the last of the dishes by the sink. He

then put his hand on Reno's shoulder and said. "Age is all in

your head. Besides I like older furs." He then went off to do

another sketch, but as he left the room it dawned on him. This

time when he touched Reno, he didn't flinch as he did in the

past.

A couple of days later at the precinct, Reno was going over

some reports, while Eric was daydreaming about making detective

and becoming Reno's partner, and maybe even more. Eric then

glanced around and his eyes fixed on the security monitors. His

thoughts then drifted back to Reno as he thought, 'How horrible

it must have been to see your partner's death and to have it

caught by the camera's'. Just then he jumped up and ran into the

Captain's office.

Reno noticed Eric's exaggerated hand gestures as he watched

the frantic otter from his desk. Eric then appeared to be drawing

something for the large bear, who at first kept shaking his head,

until Eric drew some more and pointed out the window. The Captain

took a more serious look at the drawing, and after a minute, he

picked up the phone.

After the call, the burly bear pointed at Eric and appeared

to give him a stern talking to. The little otter nodded his head

and then swiftly made his way through the squad room and out the

door almost running down the precinct messenger, who was on his

way in to see the Captain.

Reno finished his paperwork and was ready to follow up on

some leads he had, but Eric had not returned. After knocking on

the door-jam, Reno spoke up. "Excuse me Captain. I'm heading out,

but I have no idea where my---", Reno cutting himself off in mid-

sentence. "Where Officer Murphy is. Since you were the last one

to see him, I was hoping you might give me a clue as to his

whereabouts?"

Looking up from the paperwork he had just received, the bear

replied, "He's checking on a few things for me. He should be back

soon, so why don't you finish the Fletcher report? It's the only

report I'm missing from you."

"Yes Sir."

Reno had just turned around when the bear spoke up again. "I

have a question for you Reno. If Officer Murphy was to make

detective, what kind of partner do you think he would make?"

"A very nice one Captain. Whomever you team him up with will

not be disappointed."

The large grizzly leaned back in his chair. "You speak

highly of him. Maybe I should team him up with you. Personally I

think that will do nothing less then give me another great

detective." The Captain cleared his throat. "I mean another

detective like you will be good for the squad." The Captain

cringed again, not really wanting Reno to hear what he actually

thought of him. Reno couldn't hold back his smile any longer, so

the Captain added. "And don't give me that look." He then shook

his head in frustration. "Just get out of my office, and take

Officer Murphy with you. He's down in the archives."

Just before Reno closed the Captain's door, he looked back

inside. "Captain, did you really mean what you said about me?"

The bear's eyes narrowed and he pointed his finger, shaking

it at him as he growled. "If you tell any fur I said that, I will

deny it. Then I'll make your life a living hell."

"Thanks Captain, that's the nicest thing you've ever said to

me."

Reno asked the officer in the archives if he knew where Eric

was. The officer pointed down the hall and said, "Viewing room

three."

Reno looked into the little window. He glanced at the

monitor and saw that Eric was watching the recording of his and

Henry's being set-up and Henry's death.

Just short of knocking the door off its hinges, Reno burst

in, startling Eric. "I don't mean to put it this way, but what in

the hell are you doing?" Reno snapped.

Eric put up his hands. "Whoa there. I'm sorry but I had a

thought that I just had to check on."

Reno snarled. "Ten seconds, go."

"Everything that happened to you was recorded on the

warehouse surveillance cameras. The camera's range is not limited

too only the warehouse and parking lot. Look."

Eric played the video showing Detective Cain making his way

out to the cruiser. "At this point, everyone who watched this

kept their eyes on your partner."

Eric then pointed to the upper right corner of the screen,

which showed the first floor of the building next door. "Look at

the last window. Do you see something?" He asked.

Reno indeed saw something. He pulled the disk and grabbed

Eric's hand. "Lets go pup, we're heading to the crime lab."

Once there, they used the lab's computer to enhance the

picture. Each time they enlarged the image, they used another

program to clean it up. Once they had it magnified five times

they watched as Rizzo brought up a small box. A sadistic smile

splashed across his muzzle just before the reflected light from

the explosion distorted their view. As the glare subsided they

watched as the rat turned and walked away.

Eric was pleased with his findings, but lost his smile, when

he looked at Reno and saw his eyes were narrowed and part of his

upper lip was curled, baring his teeth. A cold chill shot down

his spine at the sight of the older otter's fury.

Reno rushed out the door and headed towards the parking lot,

with Eric in hot pursuit. Their first stop was the old abandoned

building where the rat was standing. Reno carefully walked around

the room checking everything for evidence. In the far corner he

noticed a piece of wood, which had been moved. He pointed out

that the dust in the room showed that the board had been lying

down in one location, but now was in another.

He then moved a cardboard box off to the side and found some

broken electronic parts behind it. He looked at the bottom of the

board and noticed small pieces of plastic and some electronic

components embedded in the wood. Carefully the two collected the

items and took them back to the crime lab. Reno explained what he

was looking for and the technician started working.

After six hours of Reno pacing back and forth, and badgering

the technician, Eric had to physically remove him and take him

home just so he could get some sleep.

Eric peeked into Reno's room several times, and each time

always found the otter sitting on the edge of his bed. The fifth

time he looked in and saw him still sitting there he became

upset.

"Reno! Look you old fur ball, you need to get some sleep,

even a couple of hours. The lab said they wouldn't have the test

results until noon. There is nothing we can do until then, so

will you please go to sleep!"

The last fur who talked to him like that was Henry, and he

was upset as well. Reno laid down and rolled over, turning his

back to Eric. "Can't sleep," he mumbled, "too tense. It's just

something that happens to me. There are only three things that

can put me to sleep when I get like this. One is when I hit total

exhaustion and I pass out." Reno stopped talking at that point.

Eric placed a chair next to the bed and sat down. He then

reached over and carefully placed one hand on the Reno's shoulder

as he said. "Come on, you can tell me what the other two are." He

then gave Reno a little squeeze. "Wow your muscles are all tight.

No wonder you can't sleep." He gave him more of a rub the second

time and Reno responded by giving out a soft moan.

"On your stomach Reno!" Eric barking out the command,

causing Reno to look over his shoulder at him. "Come on, you

heard me. Finish rolling over."

With only slight hesitation Reno followed Eric's order. The

young otter then placed both hands on Reno's back and began

giving him a massage. There were a couple of spots on his back

that needed special attention, and Eric gave them just that. He

worked his fingers in past Reno's fur, pressing into the skin,

kneading the strong muscles that lay beneath. Reno kept shifting

his body more and more sideways, until one of his legs began to

hang off the edge of the bed.

"What are you doing?" Eric asked.

Nervously Reno responded. "Ah well, it's like this. You've

discovered one of the other ways to relax me. It's just I'm used

to being massaged kinda inline, not off to the side."

A thought filled "Oh," was Eric's first response. That was

followed by a knowing "Ohhh!" Eric cleared his throat before

saying. "But that means I would have to stand above you, which

really wouldn't work, or sit on you to get the right angle."

It only took a second for Eric to give Reno a little nudge,

who then slowly slid his body back to the middle of his bed. Eric

climbed up and gently sat down on Reno's backside. At first he

felt a bit odd, but after starting the massage again, he forgot

all about it.

Eric closed his eyes and began to enjoy the feel of the

larger otter between his legs, and he was impressed at just how

firm he was. All of this started to have an effect on him, and

from that point on, he tried hard not to lean over, knowing his

erection would press into Reno's back. Though he did catch

himself doing it anyway.

About fifteen minutes into the massage, Reno relaxed enough

to give some serious thought to something that kept crossing his

mind. On one hand he wished he had not started to fall for Eric,

but on the other hand, he was happy that he came into his life.

Reno hoped the drawings were a true indication of how Eric felt,

because he was now ready to find out.

"Eric." Reno said calmly.

Eric on the other hand, got a sinking feeling in the pit of

his stomach as he asked himself, 'Why did he use my proper name

that way?' He cleared his throat before saying, "Did you want me

to stop?"

"Kind of.... Would you please stand up for a second, then

you may sit back down." Eric complied, and Reno rolled over and

sat up. "First let me say, thank you for the massage. It helped

more then you'll know. Now the next move is yours. You may sit

back down if you like, or you may head to your room and get some

sleep?"

Reno barely finished his sentence when Eric sat down on the

edge of the bed. Though the lights were off, the moonlight that

filtered into the room illuminated both of their bodies. Eric's

white cotton briefs stood out better then Reno's light blue ones,

but what was noticed by both of them, was the bulge in their

shorts.

Reno slowly looked over his way, and without saying a word,

Eric knew what he wanted to ask, and it wasn't long before they

both laid in bed completely naked. As Eric's hand slowly started

to glide over the older fur's body, Reno closed his eyes and he

thought about his long ago love Henry, but the image of his ex

faded and Eric's image started to fill his mind.

Reno slid onto his side, angling his uppermost leg over

Eric's, and he gave him everything he wanted of his mouth, while

taking everything he wanted of the young otter's. Reno felt

Eric's hand roam over his back, gently drawing him closer, and

with an arch of his spine and a subtle roll of his hips, Reno

wordlessly showed Eric how excited he was by pressing his erect

maleness into his upper thigh. Eric moaned and pulled the larger

otter closer to him, letting Reno know he loved being close to

him.

Reno remembering their age difference broke off their kiss,

"Eric.. I want you, but I can't.."

"You can," the small otter whispered.

He levered up on one elbow to free his arm of his own

weight, and skimmed the palm of his hand over Reno's arm. He took

Reno's hand and moved it down to his own extended maleness and

gently placed the larger hand on his package.

Eric leaned forward and ran his tongue over the edge of

Reno's ear, which was followed by placing a few small kisses down

the side of Reno's face until he ended up gnawing on the side of

his neck.

Breathlessly Eric whispered, "Now I need you.. I need you in

me." He rolled over coming to rest on top of his new lover. He

brought up his legs and began to sit up. As he did he made sure

Reno's stiff shaft was pressing up against his tail hole.

The farther up he sat, the more he pressed his body against

the erect rod. He arched his back and pressed down one more time,

his body finally giving in, allowing Reno's maleness to enter.

Eric moved slowly, getting used to the feel of being penetrated,

as his breaths came in short pants while he continued to relax

his body.

Reno laid there enjoying the feeling of his shaft being

swathed in the heat of another. 'Such a long time.' he thought to

himself, as a tear formed in the corner of his eye. 'Forgive me

Henry, just know I will never forget about you.'

It wasn't long before Eric started raising and lowering his

body, sliding along Reno's shaft. Faster and faster he moved

bringing joy to his new love. Reno slide one hand up the little

otter's thigh, until he reached Eric's maleness, which he took a

hold and begin stroking.

"Oh God Eric, you are so tight and hot." Reno panted as he

rolled his hips up to meet Eric's body as he came down. "It has

been so long."

Eric smiled, as he knew the joy he felt was being passed

along to Reno. "I'm just so glad you let me stay." Eric said as

he arched his back again feeling the heated shaft sinking deep

within him.

Reno's hand slipped off the little otter's rod and he

gripped both of his legs. He felt his muscles beginning to tense

up, and he knew he would no longer be able to control his body's

urges. Eric began to suspect the same, so he increased his rhythm

to help bring the older otter to his climax.

Reno grit his teeth as he felt his inner-damn give way

letting his heated flow go forth. He grunted, "This is it!" as he

arched his back and forcefully rolled his hips up pushing his rod

into Eric as deeply as he could. When their bodies met, his hot

seed shot forth coating the inside of his young lover.

"Oh God!" was all he moaned as their bodies again slammed into

each other, and again his muscles forced more of his seed out.

Reno again reached over and took a hold of Eric's shaft and

began pawing him off. It didn't take long before the young otter

gave out a cry of his own, as his seed shot forth from his erect

shaft.

Reno felt Eric's tail muscles compress around his shaft, so

he pulled Eric forward, letting his rod slide out of him adding

to the feel of his orgasm. Once he was free, he pulled the young

otter up even farther and took Eric's shaft into his mouth. Reno

finished sucking down the last of Eric's seed, as the little

otter braced himself above his new love.

When Reno woke up the first thing he felt was Eric's arm,

which was draped across his chest. He smiled remembering how he

woke up many a morning with Henry's arm on him. He glanced over

to the clock and noticed it was already nine.

"Oh crap," he whispered. He then looked over and stared at

Eric who was still sleeping. "Reno, what have you gotten yourself

into?" He mumbled as he carefully crawled out of bed. Glancing

back to the young otter he answered his own question, "Apparently

something quite nice." As he walked to the lavatory he thought,

'Wonder what's going to kill me first? My job or this young

stud.' Chuckling he whispered, "I hope the stud."

After cleaning up Reno started getting dressed. Just as he

was putting on his underwear he heard Eric whisper.

"Lucky underwear. If I die tomorrow I'm going to come back

as a pair of your shorts, so I can always be close to you."

"That's a nice thought, weird, but nice." Reno replied with

a smile on his muzzle and a chuckle in his voice.

Just then his alarm went off. Which surprised Reno, as he

was sure he had turned it off before getting out of bed. He

reached out for it but hit nothing. This caused him to start

blinking, which in turn truly woke him up. Reno looked around and

noticed it was only six in the morning, and Eric though still

there, was asleep in the chair he brought over, his arm resting

on Reno's chest.

Reno gave out a sigh. 'A dream.. A damn dream. That's all

this was.' He thought to himself as he got up and headed for the

bathroom.

At the precinct the Captain ordered that the door to the lab

be locked so Reno couldn't bother the Techs, which really upset

him. He had Eric stand by the door, while he went to talk to the

Captain.

"What's going on Cap? The lab furs say I'm not allowed in,

by your orders."

"Sit down Reno!" The stern voice of the bear caused Reno to

pause. "Now look, I don't need any more problems. The lab Techs

said twelve, so I want you to cool your jets until then. Besides

what kind of impression are you making on your new partner?"

"What new partner!?!" Reno replied somewhat surprised.

"I need all the good detectives I can get, and teaming up a

fur who shows this much promise with you will give me what I

need. And I know you will share all of your tricks with him."

Reno turned around and looked into the squad room trying to

see if there were any new fur's standing around. "Who are you

talking about?"

When he turned back around the Captain was holding up a

piece of paper. "He is the youngest fur to make detective and his

score was just one point under yours."

Reno scanned the document for a name, and when he saw it his

jaw dropped. "You have to be pulling my tail. You can't team him

up with me."

"Give me one good reason why Detective Murphy can't be your

partner, and I'll give him to someone else."

"That's easy.." Reno lowered his head as he searched for any

reason not to have Eric as his partner. With any other fur

around, he could have named a few good reasons, but he was

drawing a blank with Eric.

The Captain's phone rang breaking Reno's concentration. The

bear listened for a couple of minutes then said, "Are you One

hundred percent positive?" There was a quick response and he

began to smile. "Great, I'm sending him down right now. Be

prepared."

The large bear held out a gold badge and handed it to Reno.

"Here give this to your new partner. Tell him I'll talk to him

later about it. But right now I want you to get Murphy and go put

Rizzo behind bars. We now have all the evidence we need to

convict him for the murder of Detective Cain."

Reno grabbed the badge and put it in his pocket as he ran

down to the lab. The Tech gave Reno a copy of the evidence and

with that in hand, Reno and Eric went to get an arrest warrant.

Just as they pulled up in front of Rizzo's place, they saw

his transport pulling out of the alley. When he saw Reno and the

flashing lights on his cruiser, the rat took off.

"Hold on pup, we're going for a ride." He reached down and

picked up the microphone and handed it to Eric. "Call in for

backup and give them our location."

The rat weaved in and out of traffic and cut down several

streets trying to lose his pursuers, but Reno's masterful driving

skills kept them right on the rat's bumper. Misjudging the

distance between his transport and a pile of construction debris

as he drove by, the rat clipped a large piece of wood with a

couple of long nails protruding from it, puncturing his tire.

Out of air it became increasingly difficult to control his

transport, so the rat make one last turn, which put him in front

of a large empty building. With nowhere to go, Rizzo plowed his

ride through the front doors. The sound of breaking glass, wood

snapping and metal bending filled the air.

When Reno's cruiser came to a halt, both Reno and Eric

stayed behind the open doors of the cruiser, using them as a

shield until most of the dust and debris settled. Reno made the

first move toward the rat, calling out "Cover me." as he moved

closer.

When the dust settled enough for him to see, he found the

transport empty. He signaled Eric to come over, and together they

entered the old building. Eric silently pointed out the tracks

left behind on the dusty floor. Reno signaled Eric to head

upstairs to get a better vantage point. As Eric scurried off,

Reno followed the tracks into the main part of the building.

The old plant had a surrealistic look; darkness broken by

streams of light forcing its way in, and with old machinery

taking on the appearance of deceased creatures that roamed the

planet long ago. Even the building itself moaned as the intruders

passed through it.

Once he reached the center of the plant, Reno's eyes grew as

memories flooded back. Flashes of time past came crashing through

his minds inner wall, and his blood ran cold as he could almost

hear his cries to his ex partner and the explosion still echoing

in the walls.

His mind was ripped from the past, as he was now aware of

another sound. The sound of thick nylon being cut. He turned just

in time to see the strap on some large containers breaking away,

sending the pile of crates tumbling towards him. He attempted to

avoid them, but the sheer quantity and size of them made that

impossible, as he was hit and thrown to the ground. At that

moment, the only saving grace was that he was hit so hard that he

landed just beyond the containers that surely would have crushed

him.

When the dust settled, Reno saw his weapon about five feet

away from him. As he reached for it, the pain in his arm let him

know something was wrong. He then heard a sound, which made him

look up. Rizzo was standing next to him with a sinister grin

across his muzzle.

As the rat held his gun on Reno he sadly said, "Well Reno,

it look like its time to end my little game with you. After all,

the pleasure I obtained by your suffering has seemed to have

played out. So now the only way I can derive a little bit more

will come from me killing you, as I did your little lover. Oh, I

meant partner, not that everyone didn't know about you two, just

goes to show you how stupid you really are. You didn't have a

clue that I was the one who was smuggling in all the drugs, and I

did have my lackeys break into Rocky's place to see if he had any

idea I was moving onto his turf. And if not for you I wouldn't

have known things were clear for me to take over the whole West

Side. But now it's time for you to die."

Just as Rizzo started to pull the trigger, Eric screamed out

"Noooo!" Then there was a blur that passed between the rat and

Reno, just as the bullet exploded out of the barrel.

Rizzo was knocked back and his weapon was pushed to the

side. Reno seized the moment to roll over. Picking up his gun he

fired off two rounds. Once the deafening sound subsided, it was

followed by the dull thud sound of the rat's body hitting the

ground. Reno staggered to his feet and walked over to the large

rat. He watched as blood oozed from the two extra holes in his

head.

Breathing heavy, Reno huffed, "Two in the head, one for each

year you denied me Henry's company."

His feeling of relief was short lived as he turned around

only to find Eric laying face down on the ground, a small puddle

of blood forming next to him. Reno rushed over to him and rolled

him over. He moved Eric's coat to the side and saw that the

bullet had entered him on the side, where his armor-vest provided

no protection. Reno ripped the sleeve off his shirt and pressed

it up against the wound.

Fighting back his tears, Reno started talking to Eric's

apparently lifeless body. "Don't you dare die on me pup.. I'm not

going through this again." Desperate to get him to respond, Reno

tried giving him some good news. "Hey you can't die now you just

made Detective, look.." Reno used his other hand to remove the

gold badge from his pocket. He then carefully pinned it to Eric's

shirt. "Come on Eric, you have to stick around. You have to show

this to your mother. She'll be so proud of you.."

Feeling that wasn't enough, Reno kept talking. "Damn it Eric

stay with me... Yea that's it! You live and you can move in.. My

spare room is all yours, no more living in your mom's basement.

And you'll be my new partner, I promise sweetheart, and I never

break my promises."

With still no response from the little otter, Reno brought

his up to his chest and cradled him. "And if you live, I'll even

pose for you.. Yea.. I like the way you draw.. Oh come on love,

please don't die, don't leave me."

The sound of other voices started filtering into the

building.

Reno looked over his shoulder and cried out, "Medic! Enforcer

down."

Reno didn't want to let go, but he was pulled back so the

Medics could work on stabilizing the younger otter. He then

forced himself to stay back knowing there was nothing he could

do.

He watched as they placed Eric on the gurney and wheeled him

to the ambulance. Reno moved in and helped them load Eric in.

Then just before the Medic climbed in, Reno put his hand on the

rabbit's chest stopping him. Reno didn't say a word; the look of

concern was well evident on his face. The Medic looked into the

van, then back to the older otter. The rabbit couldn't keep eye

contact as he grimly shook his head.

Reno grabbed the rabbit's shirt and his eyes narrowed as he

growled, "I don't care what you think. Fix him!"

Just then, two enforcers grabbed him, freeing the Medic.

Reno broke free of their grasp and walked over to the coroners

van. Just before they loaded the rat in, Reno pushed the

attendant to one side. He then unzipped the thick black body bag,

allowing him to reach down and pull Rizzo's lifeless body up by

the collar, just so he could look into his dead eyes.

In an extremely enraged tone Reno stated. "If he dies, I

swear I will dig up your ugly corpse and shoot you again." This

time it took three enforcers to pull him away.

"Epilogue"

Almost three weeks later Reno was still cursing the cast on

his broken arm as he sat at his desk trying to type up a report.

"I can't wait until this stupid thing is off." He mumbled to

himself.

Once the frustration of a few more type-o's piled up, he sat

back in his chair and opened the bottom desk drawer. When no one

was looking he lifted up some papers that hid the drawings he had

removed from the Eric's logbook. He gave a weak smile and

thought to himself, 'Miss you pup.'

His concentration was broken when all the detectives began

to applaud and whistle. Reno slowly looked up and watched as Eric

finished walking into the squad room.

The Captain walked out of his office and asked, "What are

you doing here Detective? You're on medical leave."

"Yes Sir. They just released me from the medical station.

They said I could spend the next thirty days at home, and that's

where I'm heading. I just need to get something from Detective

Reno."

After Eric sat down the two just looked at each other for a

few seconds. Eric smiling, while, as usual, Reno held back any

outward signs of emotion. But inside he was quite happy to see

the young otter.

Still smiling Eric asked, "Happy to see me?"

"Maybe, but only if you are here to type these reports of

mine? I was a bad typist before, but now with this stupid cast,

I'm worse."

Eric chuckled. "Sorry, no. I'm just here to get the key to

our place."

Reno's eyes widened and his jaw dropped slightly, and in a

surprised tone he repeated, "Key to our place!?!"

"Yeah. In the building after I was shot. You were holding me

and telling me all kinds of things and one was I get to move in

if I didn't die. Well I didn't so I'm holding you to your

promise. You know, the thing you never break."

"You were awake all that time? You little--" Reno cutting

himself off with a growl.

Eric smiled, "Number one rule. Use whatever means at your

disposal to learn whatever you can about every fur that you may

want or might need help from. So I guessed playing dead was a

good idea."

Reno's eyes narrowed and he grumbled a few words, which were

not too clear as he handed his spare key to Eric, but just

before letting it go he clearly said, "You know that living with

me will not excuse you from helping out your mother. So you'll be

spending at least every other Sunday with her."

"I know, and I've already talked to her about that. She said

that having both of us over will be the highlight of her week."

Reno lost his grip on the key after hearing what Eric said.

"Both of us!?!"

"Yea, you remember what you said to me. To make sure I stay,

you'll hang out there."

With a heavy sigh Reno sat back in his chair, knowing his

own words had put him is this spot.

As Eric got up from the chair, he leaned over and whispered.

"See you at home sweetheart."

Reno's head dropped and he shook it a bit. He slowly looked

up and watched Eric walk out. He then turned his attention back

to his report and cussed under his breath as he mistyped another

word.
