When the light subsided, Kai was back in a human form, with irises as black as his pupils, and equally dark hair. "Well, that took a little more effort then I anticipated." He spoke, "Come, I'll show you around." He then opened the door of the apartment complex they were at, and quickly let Lethan in. "I'm renting the penthouse." Kai continued, "as payment, I made the building impossible to damage, and the outer door impenetrable without a key."
"Kai, Is that you?" a voice sounded from the apartment they passed. An elderly woman, Lethan suspected by the sound of the voice.
"Yes, Mary, it's me." Kai answered without slowing his step.
Then the door of the apartment opened, proving Lethan was right. "Could you help me for a moment, dear? The kitchen lights won't go on."
"Why don't you ask Leo, our house mechanic?"
"Leo is on a trip to see his family, and he won't be back for another week."
"Then I'll see what I can do for you. I'll be right back, dragonboy." Lethan then says, walking inside to the kitchen to find the lights indeed broken. "Well, I'm no mechanic, but I can get you a temporary solution." he spoke after some quick thinking. He quickly positioned four glow-orms in the corners of the room, and another two over the counter. "Will this do?" he asked her.
"Could you dampen them a little, dear, they're too bright for my old eyes." She asked in return.
"Sure." Kai answered, while doing as he was asked. Then he said, "Clap your hands, milady." She does and the lights turn off. "And again." and they turned back on. Then he asked her to step into her living room and clap again, and as she did what she was told, the lights remained on. "I'm afraid this will have to do until Leo returns."
"Well thanks for helping me, dear. Would you like a cup of tea and some fresh made cookies?"
"I'm afraid I have to take a rain check on that, cause I was om my way to show my boyfriend my chambers, if you get what I mean."

"What was that all about? And why are you impersonating a tomato?" Lethan asked as soon as Kai closed the door behind him.
"Nothing much, she's a wolf, I tell you, a wolf in sheep's clothing, but a wolf nevertheless." Kai answered, "Now let's take the elevator up."
"Then I'm gonna race you to the top." Lethan replied, quickly letting his dragon wings appear, before flying up the staircase, completely ignoring the stairs.
"So that's how you wanna play." Kai said to himself before warping to the lobby of his apartment, quickly stringing a a tripwire in the hall, then positioning himself with his face to the door, and bracing himself for impact, just in time, to catch his love in his arms. "Took you long enough," he muttered with a smirk, "I thought half dragons were fast." and Lethan quickly shut him up with a kiss.
Without breaking their kiss, Kai quickly guided them to his bedroom. "Lethan, I don't want to do anything you're uncomfortable with, so please stop me if I do."
