During their time at professor Oaks facility Theodora and Joseph watched a sunset. Unbounded to them a mew was wandering around. The mews scent was unique. Joseph instantly recognized it. He was in rage finding it. "It's you, you gave me the curse of immorality I die to wake up again and again!" He charged the mew. Theodora stopped him, "What are you talking about?" "The mew made me remember my era with all the pain and suffering that it included. I always get nightmares because of that mew." Joseph told her. The mew interjected, "I have cursed no one with that gift. I came to find a celebi for a job. I need money to survive just as much as any pokémon." "See Joseph, it has not cursed you just yet it is innocent of the claim. Apologize now or I will kill you right now." She ordered. "Then what, I am immortal. I cannot die." Replied Joseph "No sex anymore for you from me." Theodora explained. "I am sorry for accusing you too early in time." Said Joseph

The next day a Celebi approached the mew. "I have a job for you. I want to give immortality to a pokémon." "A houndoom." The mew replied. "How did you know?" The celebi said inquisitively. "Ask the houndoom he is right behind you." The mew said. Joseph looked lethal. He was going to kill that Celebi. "Haven't I suffered enough? First, I am given immortality as a curse. Then when I am truly they have to die and leaving me to suffer forever. How is that fair?" Joseph argued. "That is not my job, my job is to make sure the pokémon race is still alive. I have to adjust time to make sure the world does not end. You are only half a soul the other half is a poochyena you know too well, you fathered him. This is your final act, and Theodora will end soon enough. Then, life will go on. You and his half will merge into one. End of story!" Celebi remarked. Theodora just got up after tending to her young over heard the conversation. Thinking, "If Joseph is the darker side of one soul, Charles was George the lighter side of the same soul. Therefor, Joseph and me are soul mates? We are destined to always be together forever." She ran toward Joseph and the landed on the grass. "I am so happy to know the truth. However, Celebi why don't you pick a human or another pokémon to do the job?" "Humans are not my department. Second I could but time will change and I do not know what will happen." Celebi remarked. "Has Joseph suffered enough is he destined to suffer for all time or the end of time? That is really cruel even by Joseph's standards." She pleaded "Can you get off me dear, this is embarrassing." Asked Joseph. "Sorry. She got off him and he stood up." She apologized. The celebi though for a moment, "I can select another pokémon to take your place but, you must leave this region with your next litter Theodora. The houndour must be separated from you as a backup if this fails. You and Joseph must go to the Five Temple Region, the poochyena can come along if you want. Do you agree to that?" "I do agree to that." She said. "Very well then, I think I will give the task to a pikachu that has just arrived at this ranch. He will meet a human and travel the world. If he saves the world that is fine, but if the world is destroyed it is because of you Theodora. His human is fated to be special for some reason. I cannot go any further into it. This change will drastically affect the time stream. Our meeting is done here. We will never meet again." The celebi left.
