Bio-Horror Eliminator

Facial recognition software kicks in and identifies all three mooks as wanted men by the local legal corporation and the Triads. Federal Law Enforcement for the nation of Atlantyz has a higher bounty for them alive but will also pay for evidence of their deaths that is not quite as high and Minuteman Militia Incorporated has the same deal. However, the Triads have only an assassination bounty on them which makes his decision about what to do as he sees the one trying to get the jump on him that much easier.

A pair of quick shotgun blasts and it's all over, for the Yakuza, as Kodyax scans the bodies of the four men he just killed and goes back to scan the fifth. The Triads who are fighting with the Yakuza for control of Chinatown deposit a cool two million credits for each and an extra five million for doing it in a public venue. The Feds send ten thousand credits for the kills which is matched by Minuteman as a Siamese cat saunters in to confirm the killings as she gives Kody a coy wink.

Sagwa Miao bows to Kodyax respectfully as she is happy that a fellow chimera took out the gangsters. She flicks her tail back and forth in approval as she checks on the status of the bath house for the Triads that employ her. The death of the girl in the back saddens her as she did not want to see anyone murdered that did not deserve to die but the fact that it was the Yakuza soldier that killed her that Kody also killed mitigates the sadness somewhat in that she was avenged even if her bosses are not going to see that way.

"Greetings and salutations honorable warrior," Sagwa coos to Kodyax. "Many thanks for the deaths of our rivals here in Chinatown. Although I am sure you have already received the credits."

"Aye, Sagwa," Kodyax says in a respectful tone. "I am sorry for the loss of the girl though."

"I know," Sagwa says in a sigh. "But it was a blade that killed her. You had no blade at that time I am sure."

"His weapons were stored out here when the Yakuza barged in, Mistress Miao," A girl says with a bow. "The kemono honored our house rules and surrendered his arms without complaint."

"Always the honorable ronin, eh, Kodyax?" Sagwa inquires in a mirthful tone.

"I try not to aggravate my hosts without good reason," Kodyax counters.

"Clean up crew is coming," Sagwa says with a smirk. "I know you can't hang around."

"Take care, Sagwa," Kodyax says as he puts his main weapon back in his coat and walks out the door. "You know how to reach me if you need anything."

"Yeah," Sagwa says simply, "That I do." Then under her breath: "Sexy beast."

Outside the Bath House Kodyax gets on a motorized roll cage with three wheels and twin exhausts pumping attitude into the sky that's mostly for show as the vehicle is actually solar and electric power remotely pumped in from the telephone wires above and the cables underground as he drives his buggy down the streets of Philadelphia, 2112 and heads for the Schuylkill expressway to make his way home when the ground beneath him begins to shake. Tentacles erupt from the asphalt and Kodyax growls to himself as drives right for them. His vehicle is equipped with a mine layer to discourage pursuit among other things and he drops a few baby nukes in the midst of the emerging monster before he high tails it out of there.

The tentacles touch off the bombs which cause a small mushroom cloud, highly concentrated on it and nowhere else that forces it back underground. Kodyax drives his dragster like a chimera possessed as he knows all he really did was tick the squid worm off. "Want a playmate, monster?" Kodyax asks rhetorically of the monster behind him. "Come after my tail, why dontcha?"

Just as an added "bonus" Kodyax has the Gorillaz blaring from the speakers as it links up for his NIP. In the rear view he can see tentacles break through the asphalt again as a semi opens up in front of him and lets down a ramp for him to drive up. He's not happy about it but he drives in and finds Kennedy Dollar, a media star waiting for him.

"Kodyax!" Kennedy beams at the chimera crawling out of his vehicle. "Long time no see..."

"Not long enough as far as I'm concerned," Kodyax grouses. "What sort of deal do you want to give me this time, Ken Doll?"

"Harsh words from such a bankable operative," Ken says with mock pain. "But fair enough. Listen, we were fishing for those bio-horror underdwellers for a documentary but we got a little carried away."

"I take it the abundant arms of affection back there is among the things you're now kind of wishing you hadn't stirred up?" Kodyax asks facetiously.

"Yeah," Ken says with a frown and an expression that says that Kodyax knows the situation a little too well for his tastes. "You got a fee for this don't you?"

"You can bet your million credit smile on that one, Kenny!" Kodyax beams and flicks a hyper reality card at the mass of genegineered perfection that is the media darling. "I saw a turret on this thing didn't I?"

"Yeah," Ken says with a glare as he looks at the bill. "We're filming this! So make it look good!"

"Happy to be your stunt man, Kenneth," Kodyax quips, "Just make sure you get the frequency right!"

Kennedy Dollar is about to yell a query as to what he's talking about when his producer pops a video on his peripheral screen of an ancient music group. Mister Perfect Puppet as his bosses like to call him face palms when he realizes how much his producers are enjoying themselves right now at his expense. As for the chimera, he's a kid with unlimited access to a toy store as the producers love what he can do in this sort of arena.

Interfacing with the controls Kodyax uses the semi's advanced senses to help guide his aim as well as the advanced cybernetics he already has in his cyber goggles which allows him to zero in on the beast with advanced targeting software. Heavy machine guns blow away many of the tentacles of the central body but even all that hardware serves little real purpose other than keeping the thing distracted as he gets a radar lock for a light tactical nuke that the semi just so happens to have on board. If Kodyax is aiming right, the missile will go off deep inside the worm an its own massive body will absorb 90% of the radiation or more leaving the surrounding environment radiation free.

Fortunately for everyone in Philly, Kodyax is certainly a brutal and dirty fighter but he knows how and when to be precise when it really counts. With machine aided precision he times his shot just right and gets it where it needs to go in exactly the right spot so that a full 99% of the fall out is contained in monster's gullet; enough to kill it several times over like calamari overcooked in the microwave. Down below Ken Doll just watches the live feed with a dark expression on his face as there is little way to spin this so that he gets to be the hero not after the fiasco that happened in New York.

"Perfect!" says an electronic voice at full volume as if this were some kind of real world video game being performed as the media bosses above Kennedy Dollar are already drooling over the footage. The guys in charge of turning footage into the pixels that challenge players in the various MMORPGs the media company that is footing the bill for all this also runs are just staring at the screen and the virtual paycheck is written up just as fast as it can be approved as the footage he just provided them alone will cover his asking price. But before Kody can come down and bust Ken's chops some gargoyles that aren't quite gargoyles launch themselves from their perches as people are milling about just gawking at what just transpired.

Faceless devils with scorpion like tails swoop in try and grab folks for some lethal amusement on their part of taking a victim to a great height and then just dropping them to watch the blood splatter when terminal velocity kicks in. Kodyax trains the heavy machine guns of the turret on them and just starts shooting as the cameras keep rolling. After five of them have been expertly blown out of the sky the other three scatter for their lives as they realize the gunner can easily blast them.

Kennedy is watching the monitor in disbelief as he just knows his bosses are going to be paying the wolf-bear handsomely for that bit of display. Gun camera footage makes for great video as there are folks that actually pay to be notified when something like this goes on, especially if it's Kodyax himself. In fact Kennedy is not quite aware of this but the spike in ratings gives him a clue as Kodyax drops down from the turret.

"You have your own fanbase?" Ken asks incredulously with more than a little bit of annoyance in his voice.

"I have been told I do," Kodyax slyly admits. "Apparently they like how I do my job."

"Great Job, Kody!" An Indian voice Ken and Kody both know belongs to Thomas Gandhi, one of the producers that keeps Dollar in business. "By the way, do you have any ideas on what's been causing these things? As much fun as we're having watching Kody go through his paces, there has to be an end to it somehow."

"I can think of at least five bio-tech firms in the area off the top of my head, Tommy," Kodyax says in all honesty. "Moreau tops the list though."

"Moreau is the company responsible for creating your kind isn't it?" Kennedy asks with a smirk.

"Why else do you think I mention them?" Kodyax asks facetiously.

"They're also mostly on the up and up," Tommy's voice semi chastises. "But there is also Lovecraft Bio-Technical Incorporated."

"They're still in business?" Kodyax asks incredulously.

"They're keeping quiet but yeah," Tommy says. "Menagerie Limited is their front holding in the region."

"That was number two on my list," Kody says. "They're a Lovecraft pop-up?"

"Yup," Tom says. "We're also trying to dig up dirt on them as part of the secondary goals of the film we were doing when we contacted you."

"As bad as they can be," Kody says defensively, "They can't be to blame for everything. I know some of these things have been here since before humanity had the means and the thought to mess around."

"Very true," Ken says, "But it makes for poor copy. Much better if we get folks thinking Lovecraft is making monsters to menace the countryside through these front companies."

"So where exactly is all this going down supposedly?" Kodyax asks.

"That's the twenty million credit question," Thomas Gandhi admits. "Did you hit any of those fliers with tracers but didn't kill them?"

"I might have," Kodyax admits. "I have no clue though."

"Tracking software just came on-line, Tom," Ken says as he looks over a read out.

"Overlaying now," Kodyax says as he brings up a hyper map. "North east, near an old factory. Clever camouflage, the place is supposed to be under construction again and nowhere near complete from the burned out shell it was just two hundred years ago." A camera drone hovers in front of Kodyax. "More game footage?"

"Pretty much," Tom says. "Standard rates apply.".

Kodyax just nods and gets back into his vehicle to drive out to where the signal appears to by approaching. He is soon flanked by a black furred cabbit and a gray furred folf, both female and looking like they just came off some redo of the classic film Road Warrior. The cat-rabbit hybrid is known as Amazon with her fox-wolf lover known as Valkyrie and both are well known to Kodyax.

Both females wink at Kodyax as they drive down the high way as a team of human bikers with lengths of weighted chain come at them from behind. Kodyax sees them in a side screen as the vehicle has a camera in the rear for situations just like these. He activates the mobile mine layer and tells the girls to keep pace with him as the spiky rolling explosive devices target any nearby vehicle and since the only ones on the road are Kody, the girls and the bikers as long as they don't turn around they should be fine.

Explosions behind them get both girls to look behind them and smirk as they know how vulnerable they would be to such things and ride a little ahead of him. The motorcycles the ladies ride do have machine guns fitted to them but unlike Kodyax's vehicle which has armaments front and back the guns on the bikes face front only. A gang of zombie bikers experiences this first hand as they ride up to try and take the furries only to be gun down in a massive blaze of bullets with any survivors getting run over as the trio streak past.

The carnage of past battles on what was the interstate litter the road as what counts as the federal government is a little occupied with defending other territories to police its own roads which many would be gangsters and warlords try to use to their advantage. Case in point is the walker tank somebody managed to procure for themselves and has parked it at a critical juncture; specifically the off ramp Kodyax and company need to get to their destination. Fortunately the slanted ramps and embankments placed to help keep regular cars from being able to get close make excellent jumping platforms for their vehicles which the napping tank crew never realizes as they do a stunt the Dukes of Hazard would have been proud of.

Kodyax is tempted to drop something on them as he jumps past but then remembers that he isn't exactly getting paid for doing stunts like that so it might just cost him ammunition that he may need later. The factory, once the team arrives at the location, is predictably creepy enough; having looked like it was burned out years ago. However, all three of them notice something on their psychic senses that does not register on the others and that is that there is something inferring with their own perceptions as if their eyes see one thing while their minds perceive another.

A rusty gate with chains and a padlock to keep it from being opened are set in a concrete wall or at least that's what is initially perceived by the three as they get increasingly suspicious of their surroundings. Valkyrie helps her partner over the wall where she sees nothing out of the ordinary save for a few trash cans standing in the courtyard before the burnt out wreck. Kodyax climbs the eight foot fence rather easily and then draws his combination weapon and selects the grenade launcher feature to test out a developing hypothesis as to what is going on around here.

He shoots a grenade into a "trash can" and reality waffles a bit as everything changes as if hitting the refresh button on a site brings about an entirely different picture into view. The trash can is now a smoking and damaged piece of machinery with the dimly lit courtyard mostly empty save for some guard monsters that more than likely were created in house. Nautili on scorpion legs is the best way to describe what the things look like as true reality asserts itself on the senses of the trio.

Amazon and Valkyrie both look at Kodyax incredulously as they consider the fact that they have small arms that won't do much against the beasts unless they aim well as Kody contemplates what mode he wants to use on those things and is currently leaning towards shotgun. Looks turns to glares as they realize that he is now the most effective of the three of them at the moment. He drops smoke gas grenades to obscure vision as they try for a stealth insertion.

Valkyrie sighs and gets a hetero thought in her head and before they all jump off the wall she gropes Kodyax and coyly winks at him which draws a further glare form Amazon. Amazon and Valkyrie have both slept with Kodyax although not at the same time as they did so before they hooked up. Kodyax uses the shotgun portion of his weapon which allows the two of them to sneak into the building which is completely modern as far as 2112 is concerned and they have a conversation.

"What the fuck are you thinking?" Amazon growls at Valkyrie as they hear Kodyax shooting things in the distance. "Are you seriously considering playing house on me?"

"Yes and no," Valkyrie says coyly as she fondles Amazon's breasts, "I got a hormone thing right now. But you've done him too."

"Hello, ladies," Kodyax says as he walks in on the conversation.

"I'm not getting suckered into this," Kodyax says as he just shakes his head and walks on into the building, "We have a mission we're getting paid for, we will not be followed , let's get going."

"How much do you think he heard?" Amazon whispers to Valkyrie as they follow him further into the building.

"I don't know," Valkyrie says with a shrug in a whisper as she follows suit, "But I think we just need to get going. Just think about how you want to cool down after this run."

Amazon slaps Valkyrie's ass as they giggle together and pull out gyroc pistols as they follow behind him. The guns they carry shoot gyroscopic rockets that are not exactly as powerful as one might think. Kodyax has taken point as is his wont with the ladies flanking him a couple of steps behind.

There are no cameras visible but all three are sure they are being watched as they have their ears peeled for any sliding panels would indicate that maybe there will be extra things for them to deal with. Suppression fire from the assault rifle portion of his weapon keeps whatever this thing is from grabbing Kodyax proper as he slides down the tube. When he gets to the bottom of said tube he finds a mass of tentacles everywhere and a whole hose of floor to ceiling glass tubes with even more bio-horrors growing within them. As he breaks said glass to grab and activate said weapon Amazon is rolling her eyes as Valkyrie would be well on her way to a gigglefest of her own if her muzzle were not otherwise occupied.

Kodyax rents a house not exactly far from the location and it is to there that they convene.
