^For those who aren't FF Savvy
The prodigal pair sauntered down the dirt path, the mountains closing around them with the golden saucer in their wake, as their destination peeked into view.
"Finally" Lamont praised, raising his arms to the sky in a triumphant manner.
Judgement looked down to the moogle, seeming rather placid compared to his excited state.
"What ever happened to that snail you rode around everywhere?" she questioned, her body once again enclosed in her flamboyant blue robe.
Lamont suddenly stopped his celebration in a rather depressed manner, His extaticness fizzled as his arm's fell by his side "I, I don't... wanna talk about it..." he hesitated.
Then there was silence...
It was not meant to last, however. Awaiting at the entrance of the old Corel, propped up against a brick house on the outskirts of the town, was what Lamont feared most...
A tall mage, Just shy of seven feet tall stood before them, His Dark skin and slightly glowing purple eyes which were Hidden impartially by dark blue bangs, covered head to toe in a black leather getup with A flintlock pistol on his hip, was
"Adamant!" Judgement shouted out, her speed increased slightly, Embracing him in a Hug.
Leaning forward to catch her, he closed his eyes and took her in a loving hug, "Judgement" his deep voice echoed out.
Lamont trailed behind, crossing his arms in an annoyed manner before halting some way behind.
"Lamont" Adamant stated happily, "How are you?" as he released Judge from his grasp to approach the less then quarter height moogle.
"Yeah, Fine" he stated coldly, Not even looking at him, "Look, I don't wanna be here for this, Do what you gotta do and lets go..." he growled out to Judgement before storming off...
Adamant looked a little saddened by this before Judgment spoke, placing a hand on his back as she looked up to him.
"He is still sore... Don't hold it against him" she stated wisely.
"Speaking of which" he turned "How is my boy?"
"He is healthy, much bigger than his siblings, Lamont may dislike you for the while, but he treats your child as his own."
He nodded "I expected nothing less, Where are they?"
"Lamont's sister is raising them" she paused for a moment... "It took some convincing but considering the elders owe their lives to Lamont, they made an exception. Your child will be the first to learn the ways of the mountain moogle, that is not a moogle.." She smiled out, seeming rather amused by this.
"Good..." he paused, before returning in embrace, kissing her.. Judgement was surprised at first, but blushed lightly and returned his affections as she closed her eye... "I'm just so glad to see you, at the beginning I was worried you didn't get my PHS message" he said as he broke away
"Speaking of which, we should get going" she said as she pulled away from him.
"Right" he said, nodding before moving off, Judgement followed beside him.
====== Meanwhile =====
"Stupid Adamant" Lamont said as he kicked the dirt, "Stupid Corel, Stupid Judgement" he bantered childishly... "Why'd she have to go and do that..." he growled.
"Lamont..." a familiar, Light and almost therapeudic voice chimed out...
"Huh?" he turned to face a pregnant female, it wasn't going to come by anytime soon, but it was still fairly obvious. She was in a white robe, looking like some sort of priestess, all except the headgear she wore, a metallic triangular helmet covering what he knew was a beak.
She was a Yuke, and beside her, standing shin height was a little boy Yuke with a Pom pom, dressed exactly the same as the Yuke he hid behind.
"Oh wow..." he looked between them... "Delta... it's you... and this is"
"Larsa.. yes" she finished his sentence with a nod.
"My, he has grown..." he smiled, returning his glance to her before kneeling down and trying to beckon the child with a smile and a hand gesture.
"Excuse him, he's still very-" "THERE YOU ARE!!" Delta was cut off by a loud, slightly more masculine but still obviously feminine voice.
"Daddy!" the small Yuke shouted, moving to run to the voice.
What produced it was a white wolf anthro moving over to scoop the child up and hold him in her arms.
She was dressed in grey short shorts and a white tank top, looking very sporty...
"Lamont I thought it was you I saw..." she said as she finally got within decent speaking distance...
"Wow Saige, you've changed..." he said, his eye's immediately falling to her ample Bust... Quickly he began to break out in a sweat, licking his now chapped lips...
"Www... What happened to the shy girl I met in Junon..." he blushed, reminiscing about days when life was simpler, or rather... More complex.
"She grew up..." she nodded, looking to delta who had remained silent for the while.
Lamont also turned to Delta, giving her an inquisitive look now as he turned side on... "He doesn't know does he?" he queried, everyone suddenly looked to the child cradled in Saige's arms.
Delta shook her head, "The only thing he knows right now is how to walk..."
"And what's this daddy crap?" Lamont said as he turned to Saige.
Saige replied halfly laughing at the beginning of her sentence, embarrassed somewhat. "We heh hell, we're sort of... an item now..."
Lamont knew Saige wasn't a woman... well... not from the waist down anyway... He'd had a fairly abrupt focus on it one night back in Junon, Just the three of them.
"Yeah?" he stated, giving a blushed yet patronizing smile... "Well Good on ya..." he laughed, scratching his pom pom stem.
"Can we have a moment, I'll join you in the church..." Delta looked to Saige, Who nodded and waved to Lamont before hopping off into the nearby church with Larsa in her hands.
"By that answer, I'm guessing you're not here to take me home with you?" she asked woefully, Looking at Saige walk off into the Church..
Lamont shook his head and looked up to the Yuke female before him... "I'm sorry Delta, you know where I stand... I don't... Love you..." he shook his head, sounding rather mournful.
Delta took it in her stride, A tear tricked down into her helmet which she never removed, but she didn't sound very sad. "I understand..."
She turned to him and knelt down, placing a friendly hand on his shoulder "If that ever Changes... I..." she paused, looking away for a moment... "We" she corrected... "Will be waiting for you..."
before standing up and placing her hands together wisely.
"Thanks..." he returned... "It means a lot..."
She nodded before turning to the Church, walking slow, and with meaning...
Lamont scratched his stem confusedly, shaking his head.
====== Meanwhile =====
"Here we are" Adamant said, walking hand in hand with Judge into a cave filled with small natural materia formations littering the roof... Nothing big enough to use...
"It's amazing" she looked around awe inspired...
"It's this way..." he continued down the winding path, passing radioactive mako pools along the way.
The cave they were in was ground level beneath the Corel reactor.
Winding for what seemed like forever, they finally came to a large hexagonal room, it was obviously not natural, and what stood in the centre of it chilled Judgement to the bone.
"It's"
"Cronus" Adamant Started, But was cut off by Judgement
She ran away from Adamant and toward the 13foot statue of a male ascended mage.
He stood there in a Similar mages robe to the one Judgement wore, He held in his hand an Unfamiliar sword, with impressive Detail, what he held in his hand was an oversized SOLDIER standard issue sword.
"That's weird." she stated, running her metallic hand Gently over the sword...
"He was never in SOLDIER, I don't think he even knew what Shinra was"
Adamant shrugged as he stood nearby, "What's that?" he pointed off to a stone depression on a small pillar in front of the statue, it had a red materia ball in it. "That wasn't there before" he stated.
"No... Could it be?" she queried, moving over to grab it, however as she stepped within grasping distance, the orb began to glow, then a purple rune expanded from the pillar on the floor.
Both of the room's occupants looked down to the floor in discomfort, fear wouldn't be the right word.
A stone door suddenly fell from the ceiling in the archway entrance, sealing the occupants inside.
Judgement and Adam looked to the exit, then to each other...
"It Comes!" Adamant shouted, Drawing his flintlock from his belt.
They both turn to the statue before taking a few hastened steps back...
The orb, still glowing brightly, began to rise from the pillar, reaching about eight feet in the air before it suddenly shot into the statue... and then there was a terribly deafening silence...
Creaking coming from the statue before it began to move, its Joints breaking before hovering a few centimetres from the join.
The golem held the epic stone sword toward the pair before a booming deep voice came from its unmoving mouth.
"Judgement, that is who you are, and now what you face.
Adamant, that is who you are, and now what you must be.
Fell me, or perish"
Before rushing them, swinging its blade horizontally with unrivalled speed for its size and unmatched accuracy for its lack of sentience.
Judgement leapt into the air, glowing green while Adamant slid underneath the swing while loading his gun. Rolling to a run as Adamant fired one shot up toward the beast's face, it seemed to ignore it, bringing the sword back down vertically.
Judgement landed and fired off her charged haste toward Adamant, He glowed a dull blue as he felt the spell engulf his body, enabling his rapid fire, and to roll sideways, missing the quickened attack by mere inches. Andamant continued to fire off his shots, each one chunking into the head of the stone monstrocity. Small bits of debris shifted off with each accurate shot.
The monster lifted its blade from the ground, a surprise low kick from it Sent at bone breaking velocity connected, sending Adamant cascading into a wall, stunned, he fell to the floor Unconscious..
"No!" Judgement shouted, holding her hand out towards him in dismay.
The golem brought its blade around to finish off Adamant. All looked lost as the sword came barrelling down, only to be stopped by a blue barrier, a mere foot away from killing Him.
Judgement had her hand held out, having charged a quickened Protect spell...
She narrowed her eyesaAngrily as the beast lifted its blade one more, intent on taking Adamant's Life.
Having overcharged a fire spell since the begining of the confrontation, she fired it.
It cascaded through the monsters head, pieces of stone flying off everywhere as the dust settled.
The golem remained silent for a moment, its blade hovered behind it's back, nearby a boulder of an arm.
Judgement digressed before the golem began moving without a head, however the red materia on its chest had been exposed by the blast.
It turned, quickly stepping towards Judgement, It didn't have to go far before it was in range.
Bringing down it's blade for another vertical Slash.
Judgement began charging an Ice spell, But it was too late, the enchanted stone moved too fast, she was unable to move as the sword jetted toward her.
Suddenly a wall of stone rose up from the floor behind Judge, catching the blade.
Adamant was awake, alive but unable to move... He had used an Earth spell to protect Judgement.
Judgement didn't even flinch as she quickly fired off her Ice spell toward the chest piece, charging another spell in her other arm.
This seemed to have an adverse effect on the headless stone Golem; It released its sword and staggered back, slowly.
From where Adamant was, he could just see the front of the golem, he raised his gun weakly, and fired off a shot which skimmed over the side of the materia...
The aura around the materia faded as the stone clone began to fall foreward.
It's legs buckled as it looked like it was going to crush Judge...
"Ruuhn..." Adamant groaned out as he watched on, he could do nothing but watch the events unfold.
As the monster came within touching distance, Judgement threw a closed fist foreword, firing off a fully charged air spell in unison, it exploded on impact with the orb, and the Golem fell apart, its chest split into eighths as the spell separated them enough to keep Judge from harm...
The red orb fell nearby, chinking on the ground as the light from it faded completely.
Judgement panted out, stepping over the felled beast as she moved over to Adamant.
"Are you alright?" she asked as she knelt down beside him. Charging a cura spell...
"I'll live" he stated, groaning as the spell was fired into his chest, halfly sealing his broken bones so they were mere fractures...
"Keh... Thanks..." he hissed out, Judgement grabbed his arm and helped him to his feet, though he could not stand on his own... He lent on her as he stated "C'mon, let's get out of here before we find any more surprises..."
"Hold on..." she said, walking over with him to the felled orb...
Picking it up with her free hand and examining it...
"A Cronus summon materia" she stated, "This makes no sense, my brother may have been big, but he was no god."
Adamant canted his head to the side in a half agreeing manner. "Well, he is now..." he nodded.
She placed the Summon materia in a slot on her synthetic leg, and began to move back to town.
===== Some time Later ====
Lamont sat outside the church on a bench, shifting his feet back and forth as he watched them boredly.
He saw a bit of movement in the oddly quiet town, it was Adamant and Judge, arm in arm, with Adam limping...
He rushed over to the pair, "Whoa What happened ta you two?"
"Golem... What happened to you?" Judgement replied with a question.
"Delta..." he seemed to not want to say it
"Your chicken wife?" she said grinning, Adamant laughed curiously.
"Would ya stop callin' her that... it was one friggin' night, seriously..." he growled out.
"Amorousness aside Adam need's medical attention, i will take him and then we will depart."
"Bout time..." Lamont groaned out as the pair began to walk off... "Hey Jackass..." he stated, Judge and Adamant stopped and turned halfly.
Lamont threw Adamant's signature hat at him, the one he had left with Lamont the last time they had seen eachother, almost a year ago, "You left your Junk behind, I don't want to hold onto your crappy hat Any longer, It's your trash, so you throw it out..." he smiled...
Adamant had caught the hat, waiting for Lamont to finish his speech before placing it on his head. He closed his eyes and Laughed lightly, "Thanks... Though I'm surprised you held onto it for so long" Turning with Judgement and began walking off to the Doctor's House.
His final words to Lamont were a fairly stern "Don't Squander your time!"
