Project DDS 4...
Part four of Project DDS...
Day 5 continued...
"What the hell are they doing in there and why the hell aren't we going in to stop them?" Queried a maned lion wearing the decorated uniform of a commanding military officer.
Down by his side a mousey looking intern was silently grumbling in the back of his head while trying to ignore the imposing spectacle of virile male masculinity next to him in favor of watching the happenings beyond the glass window.
"If I really have to answer your first question, sir, then I think you need a lesson in biology 102 again." This got the mouse a very sour look and slight growl as the feline next to him cocked his head at the rodent with a glare highlighting his features. "As for the second, we can't get inside to stop them."
The lion had to take several deep breaths before he opened his mouth to speak again; the temptation to backhand the mouse was so great that it drove the predatory instincts of the lion through the roof. "And why is that?"
"Because the door to the room is sealed tight with some sort of super adhesive." The intern adjusted the glasses perched onto the bridge of his nose before turning to look at the metallic barrier between himself, the military man next to him and the three mutates inside of the experimentation room.
A thick black film covered the edges of the doorframe in such a way that it looked like a spider's webbing was holding tight onto the sides of the metal. Nothing that the scientific team had thrown at the black tar-like matter had been able to put a dent into it; this included several magazines worth of automatic ammunition from military issued weaponry held by the soldiers on duty. To make matter somewhat more tense and vexing to the military personnel that had been there at the time of the fiasco, nothing they had done afterwards, not even ramming file cabinets into the doorframe with three of them pile driving into the metal, had so much as jolted the barrier blocking everyone off from the three transformed males in the adjoining room.
It was only when one of the researchers, who had wanted desperately to shut up the soldiers when they had been arguing with one another about using grenades on the door to blast the entire wall to pieces, had suggested to call for someone higher up in the chain of command that kept the soldiers on duty from doing anything rash. So...three hours later Lt. so-and-so, complete with the bad attitude, stepped into the research building and, not asking in any polite manner, but roaring out loud for anyone to tell him, "What the hell was going on!".
It had taken another hour to bring the military lion up to speed on things and then two hours more to get on the horn and try to get confirmation from some General muckity-muck to give the lion almost complete control over the scientists and soldiers on hand. The research team hadn't been too thrilled with this, but as civil servants of the corporate dollar they were behooved to answer any and 'all' questions about the project that the lion needed to be answered.
Thus leading this all back to the main question that the intern was loathed to answer, in small words, for the bigger male.
"So what in the hell happened, again?" The lieutenant ignored the mouse when his rounded ears heard the smaller man sigh for the hundredth time in the past few minutes.
"Like I said..."
***
Alexander listened out for the footsteps coming his way and smirked as a sudden sense of 'knowing' rushed into his mind like a rapidly overflowing riverbed during a rainy season. The Dane flexed his muscles and felt the fleshy tentacles at his back double as two extra, though slightly smaller and thinner, set of appendages snaked free from his backside and then reached out to grab at the heels of his two packmates. The lengthy masses of flesh worked their way quickly up the legs of both the dragon and the kangaroo and then coiled around Jessie and Max's waists to where the two unconscious men could be gripped and then lifted carefully into the air.
Right as Alexander had the two males raised slightly a foot up off of the ground his almost completely blackened irises caught the sight of numerous soldiers with guns drawn turning around the corner and then halting completely in step as they noted the mutated doggy standing before them.
"What the hell is that!?" One of them said as hands quickly lifted their weapons to point gun barrels at Alex's muzzle.
"I think it's that Dane from before..."
"What the hell did they do to him?"
"I'm concerned about the fact that there are fucking things coming out of his back and holding the other two in midair!"
Alex rolled his shoulders and chuckled almost drolly as he listened to the panicked men and women muttering to themselves while trying not to seem frightened of him as they obviously were. It was easy for the Dane to scent the stale and bitter tang of fear that wafted from off of the anthromorphs in front of him. The pathogen that had been altering his inner systems had done quite a number on the canine's sense of smell and hearing as Alex could now literally hear the blood of the army personnel rapidly pumping throughout their quivering bodies. The subtle sight of the shivers that racked through each of them made the Dane feel a sense of power the likes of which he had never felt before as the raw need to dominant all of the flowed through him like a Sirocco.
Alex's ears tilted slightly forward as the Dane listened to the quickening beats of several hearts hammering desperately in multiple chests, each getting faster and faster with every passing second. The Dane cast his eyes at half-masts and allowed the world to shrink down to veiled points as he took in more and more details of the nearly petrified soldiers. Of what Alex could see, his eyes clearly watching the barest hint of movement from the others as his instincts warned him that the danger from the gun wielding men and women was growing greater, the black patched male could see that he would only have one chance to make his move before bullets would rip through the insides of his body.
"What should we do? Should we go find one of the eggheads and get them down here?"
"Like they really plan to do anything about him," A gun was wavered in Alex's direction and the Dane had to snort as he wondered did the anthromorphs realize that he could still understand them quite clearly.
"I say we just wait and see what he does first,"
"You want to be the one to tell the higher-ups what went wrong in case he goes berserk?" One of them snapped.
"Rather than try to provoke him and then have to wonder what we could have done differently if one of us ends up with his head shoved up his ass."
"Look, we've got order to try and do this without bloodshed so let's just try it that way first." One of the soldiers pocketed his gun and then stepped out of the crowd of spooked military grunts. The being in question was a large Siberian tiger that looked as though he had seen too much combat for one lifetime, but unremorsefully walked over to Alex with his arms held up, with his palms pushed faced out in a pacifying gesture. "Hey, I don't remember your name, but if you can understand me would you tell me what's going on here?"
Alex watched as the stripped feline stopped some three feet from him and then blinked up at him in question.
"No." The Dane grumbled, his voice sounding almost like something thick and viscous was bubbling up into his throat, and then began to take a step backwards.
"Hey, hold on! What do you mean 'no'?" The tiger grunted as he fought against the instinctive urge to drop his hand down to the side of his holster.
"It's not for you, or any one of you, to know." Alex waved his head at the others and then took several more steps back.
"Jimmy get your ass out of there and let us..."
"Shut up!" The tiger snarled as he cocked his head sideways before turning back and then taking a step forward towards the Dane. "Hey big fella, I really don't do the mind games thing, so you need to quickly explain what the hell is going on before we both lose control of this situation." Jimmy, as what the tiger had been called and answered to, spoke with something of a plea and a desperation lining his voice.
"What's happening is simple," Both of Alexander's two unoccupied tentacles reared up and then, "Its evolution." Sprayed out his black and white venom out at the military men behind Jimmy from over the top of the tiger's head.
The Siberian tiger took just a second to collect himself before he turned his entire body around behind himself to look at his comrades. That fatal second was all Alex needed as he turned on his heels away from the other man and then pulled Jessie and Max tightly into himself before racing down the hallway to escape. Jimmy looked between where Alex had retreated and then at his own companions before making a calculated decision.
"Everyone alright!" The tiger bellowed as he ran back over to the others and then knelt down to look over the men and women that had fallen onto their backs from the force of the Dane's toxic spray.
The one's that hadn't been hit all nodded before going over to their friends and then reaching out to wipe off the black slime that covered the rest of their teammates.
"No! Wait! Don't!" Heads turned upwards as guns pointed forward at a pair of scientists that had seen what had been going on upstairs on the monitors and braved the dangerous possibility of contamination to come and try to diffuse the situation.
"Hold your fire!" Jimmy shouted and the barrels of the weapons quickly lowered and were then holstered. "What do you mean 'don't'!? We've got injured here!" The Siberian tiger shouted as he scraped some of the congealing gunk up off of the face of a very confused looking zebra before he got his answer.
The striped ungulate, once he blinked and then took some serious notice of his helpful friend, reached up for the tiger and then snatched the other man's face down to plant a hot one on the tiger's muzzle. The others that had not been infected by Alexander's toxin all gasped and then blinked and tried to make comments to their confusion, but soon found their own muzzles pressed flush into warm faces. Heated murrs and purrs resounded throughout the hallway as Jimmy and the rest found themselves embracing their comrades in ways that they never would have before. Apparently the enthralling effects of the venom belonging to the new mutate were rapidly taking over the minds of the infected and had completely lowered their inhibitions while spiking their physical desires for one another.
"That's what I meant," The scientist, a buxom doe in white lab coat said while moving back away from the writhing mass of fur, flesh and gel on the floor. "We're only slightly sure of it before, but consensus in the team is that the fluids that the Dane sprayed have a strong psychological property to them." The doe tried to keep her composure as she watched the men and women slowly lose themselves to their more primal thoughts right before they began to shed each other of their respective clothing.
In an attempt to calm her own nerves the scientist went right on speaking, even as her companion turned and fled the scene; hopefully to go and get help. "We watched as Alexander, the Dane, used his tentacles, for lack of a better term, to inseminate both Jessie and Maxwell in an attempt to try and make the dragon and kangaroo subservient, or rather to say acquiescent to his leadership." Moans and heated gasps tore through the ball of flesh and fur that was slowly building in friction right at the doe's feet. "It was our assumption that maybe this new substance is what the three test subjects were trying to use one another as they fought for dominance just before we sounded the alarm to call you. While we're not sure of it, the team and I have come to the conclusion that, whatever this substance you all are rolling in now, it might have an agent inside of it that would loosen amorality within its intended victim and thereby allow them to become susceptible to willpower of its original host."
The doe watched as Jimmy and the rest of the group soon found themselves locked into carnal embraces with one another, the Siberian tiger himself was currently underneath the zebra that he had been trying to add was getting well shafted by the twelve and a half inch equine price that was nestled between the ungulate's thigh, and then eased herself back some as her eyes saw more 'things' that were best left to the bedroom. "I think I'll go now and...find help...yeah" And then the doe fled in a manner that her ancestors could have proud of as he literally bounded off.
****
Back with the lieutenant the lion was all but keeping his temper in check as his left eye began to twitch in rising aggravation.
"So you're telling me that, amongst the half of my team, you weren't able to get one of them freed from each other until almost an hour later?" The mouse tried not to chuckle as he continued watching the scene with the Dane, dragon and 'roo in the other room.
"Hey, at least we were able to get them hosed down and then untangled from each other without having to use crowbars to pry them free." The lion grunted at this. "You weren't here so you don't have any idea how frisky those guys got with one another. Let's all just be thankful that the effects of the chemical agent wore off without any adverse effects, otherwise your soldiers would still be doing the same as those three in there." The mouse nodded towards the glass and the military officer couldn't help but be annoyed that the small mouse was indeed right, for the most part.
"You call what's going on with private Jimmy Wakes a good thing then?" The lion was referring to how the Siberian tiger seemed to be almost listless and out of sorts from where he now rested inside one of the medical labs under heavy quarantine.
Out of all of the men and women who had been there at the time the tiger seemed to have become a former shell of himself. The striped feline would answer his name when called and give complimentary gestures and greeting when prompted, but other than that he seemed just not to be 'there' when spoken to.
"It's my guess that with what happened he feels completely responsible for letting the others get infected and then turn into rutting lunatics in the middle of the hallway. We still don't know what kind of properties the gunk, for lack of a better word, had on them, but further study is showing that it does affect the mental ability of its victim to various degrees."
"What are you saying?"
The mouse sighed. "Putting two and two together lieutenant, I'd say that the toxin had triggered an intense form of guilt inside of the tiger that is making him feel so responsible that its lingering effects are not allowing him time enough to recover mentally." It was a stretch of logic but then again this entire situation was stretching the boundaries of logic and rationality to the breaking points. "He does seem to respond better when he and that zebra he had been coupling are in close proximity to one another, though I heard that you forbade the two from that." The mouse turned his head to look at the lion out of the corner of his eyes before twitching one of his too-large-for-his-own-good, cute ears at the other man.
"Of course I did! If what you are saying is true then it's possible that whatever is happening to him might affect someone else, or possibly have an adverse effect on one of the others." The mouse had to smirk as he realized that maned feline wasn't just all hot air after all.
'Apparently something was knocking around up there,' The mouse thought ruefully.
"Until we know anything for sure I'm having all of them separated and placed under heavy surveillance until we know for sure what's going on."
'That might cause more harm than good,' The rodent surmised but he wasn't about to say that out loud. However, the intern had it on good standing that 'forces' within the research team were working to counter the lion's orders. After all, despite what the other man might have thought, this was still their pet project.
The scientific team wasn't about to hand it over just to some blowhard feline on the whim of official forces that were too lazy to drag their butts out of bed to come see what was going on.
"And that leaves the question," The lion said, startling the mouse out of his reverie. "What happened with these three? I thought that you said that the dragon and kangaroo had been asleep when they were last cornered."
"They were, but apparently..."

Alexander beat feet as he made his way through the hallways of the maze-like building while sniffing and listening out for any signs of danger. The Dane didn't know how much time he had before someone would come and try to capture him and his packmates for his little stunt, but Alex was not a foolish enough doggy to wait around and find out. Besides, the squirming coming from his heavy pack members alerted him to the fact that soon the others would be waking up and in need of time to bond with him as their alpha.
For that, they needed to be somewhere safe and warm and Alex was having a tough time of it trying to find some place suitable inside of the sterile building. All he needed was a large room somewhere that would be unoccupied, or rather a place that wasn't on camera. A snarl bubbled up into his throat as his mind rapidly tried to figure out a place that would be suitable inside of the unfamiliar territory that he had found himself free to roam through. Alex quickly came to realize that much of the interior of the building was littered with recording devices as he looked around on his hurried escape. This truth annoyed the Dane so much that Alex, without much thought, sprayed his thick gelatinous goop out of his tentacles onto the faces of dozens of cameras to block them from seeing him.
It was after ten minutes of searching that Alex got a bit of mercy and/or luck to come his way. The Great Dane let his sixth sense carry him down through a set of emergency stairs through the building and to the fourth floor, they had been on the sixth in the beginning, and then into a room designed with an interior room inside of it made for experimentation. Alex wasted little time as he went into the empty enclosure, slammed the door behind him shut and threw several pieces of equipment in front of the doorframe before heading into the internal room and then placing his packmates gently down onto the ground.
In the near total darkness of their new den the Dane barely noted that his eyes were able to see everything around him in full detail. Alex didn't let this new ability bother him as he found his eyes straying down to look over the members of his pack and then watched as the bellies belonging to the dragon and 'roo began to quiver n front of him. Still new to the entire process of their new evolution the Dane wasn't sure what to think as he watched the bulges inside of Jessie and Max's stomach start to shrink while the two men moaned and rolled around onto the floor like pups.
His senses all relayed to him that his companions were just as healthy as he was but that infuriating civilized rationale demanded that he go over and check on the two, just to be one hundred and ten percent sure. The Dane didn't stop his feet as they took him over to his packmates, nor his knees from buckling as he slowly lowered himself to the ground next to the others. A soft whine of concern escaped from the Dane's lips as he leaned down to nuzzle both Jessie and Max's heads.
The dragon was the first to respond to this as black and gold tinted eyes cracked open and then peered around until the reptile's sight landed onto the canine. When Alex turned his head he noticed that the dragon locked eyes with him in such a way that it made something inside of his body coil and churn in want for the other. While not exactly intimate in design these new feelings could have been called sexual as the Dane became possessed by a raw hunger for the reptile. A massive scaled hand reached up to take Alex by the back of his head and the Great Dane was unprepared for what Jessie suddenly whispered up at him,
"Alpha?"
"Yes." Alexander spoke without thinking.
"Alpha bond?"
"Yes."
Jessie released the Dane's head and then moaned out loud as his scaled form almost caught a flame from the intense heat that soon radiated up from out of his core. Alex let his head turn over just in time to see the kangaroo rousing himself from his slumber and soon the words and actions of the other man repeated themselves with Max.
"Alex bond with us?" It seemed that the 'roo was able to clutch onto much more of his linguist abilities than the dragon as it caught the Dane slightly unawares to hear his name being spoken.
"Yes, Max."
"Good," The marsupial nodded as though going over data inside of his head in a fact checking analysis. "Is right."
And with that the 'roo began to turn and shuffle around as he felt tendrils of fire wriggle firmly throughout his body, from his chest down to the tip of his tail and then back up his spine into his ear flaps. Alex could only watch as the rounding masses inside of his two packmate's bellies disappeared completely to leave behind a pair of six packs along the dragon and kangaroo's abdominal muscles. However, even though things seemed to be going right with the dragon and 'roo, something else seemed to be amiss as the others tossed and turned around more and until they finally flopped over completely onto their chests.
Alex watched in rapt amazement as he noted wiggling furrows appear into the two male's backsides. The Dane's guess was, if Max's single writhing tentacle was anything to go by, that his packmates were about to come into their own slimy extra appendages with slow relish. Nearly pure black eyes watched as Alec's assumptions were made real when the folds of the fur and scales, on Maxwell's and Jessie's respectively, back began to part to reveal slurping masses of discolored flesh that waved through the air like worms looking to the sky for the first time.
Just like with Alex's own tentacles the slime soaked members belonging to the dragon and 'roo number four in total, only three coming out for Max instead of four like with Jessie, with two being thicker and more dense and the top while the two at the underneath were both thinner but longer. The flesh along the tips of the new appendages were rounded instead of pointed and from what Alex could see there were gaping holes dribbling with viscous-looking clear fluid seeping out of them to dribble down the lengths of the new extremities like water from a falls.
Alex didn't waste any time in allowing his brain try to make sense of what his body was telling him to do as the Great Dane slipped his own four tentacles forward. Two by two, one from the top and one from the bottom, the masses went over to slip themselves over the matching pair belonging to both the dragon and 'roo and just as quickly Alex began to groan in concentration as he willed the fleshy lengths to give up the venom inside his packmates into himself.
Both Jessie and Max hissed at this as their bodies instinctively did as their alpha commanded, giving up the lingering dregs of their own toxins to be pulled up out of the sacks hidden somewhere inside of their bodies, to be sucked down into their alpha's own pouch to mix together. What the others didn't know yet was that what Alex was doing was draining them of their own poison to blend it all together with his own inside of himself. This would make the new venom that the others would be replenished with twice as powerful as before while giving the others the ability to make a potent drug that they could give each other when it came time to feed.
While their bodies couldn't survive off of regular food anymore, to a point anyway, this new liquid would be able to sustain the three of them for days on end while replenishing itself naturally over time. However, the alpha would need to have both of his packmates give him their new fluids together willingly in order for him to keep up his own strength and reserves. Right now, it was easy for him to get away with this kind of forceful domination in favor of helping the pack along, but soon there would be a different kind of play that would need to happen in order for Alex to cement his place as both caretaker and leader of the pack.
Ten minutes of groaning and sighing later and then the deed was done. Alex pushed back the new liquid inside of the pockets hidden inside of Jessie and Max, the Dane listned to the both of them groan in satisfaction with mild amusement coloring his thoughts, and then removed his tentacles from them once everything was settled back into place. His fleshy appendages pulled out away from the others with a loud pop and then Alex allowed the dragon and 'roo to lie down onto the floor next to each other with as sigh as new chemical information got processed into their beings.
Alex watched over the two other mutates for several more minutes as he took in the transforming scents of his packmates before sounds outside of the room alerted him to incoming trouble. Growling as irritation began to well up inside of his gut the Dane didn't fight with his body as all four of his tentacles rose up in time with each other and then pointed and sprayed black sludge out across the door barring the three males from the rest of the world.
A beating splash sounded the alarm for someone to come into the research lab but by then it was too late. The congealing black sap that had doused the doorframe was readily hardening into a thick paste in an effort to seal Alexander, Jessie and Maxwell from the rest of the world. Alex didn't have the place of mind to think about it as his body began to shut down on him, fatigue rapidly began to overtake the new alpha as the stress from his transformation and subsequent pseudo-bonding with his pack all drained him of his reserved energy. The Dane almost missed it when twin pairs of arms came around him and held him tightly into a warm and welcoming embrace however, Alexander didn't miss the coos and purrs of comfort that came from both Jessie and Max as the two men covered themselves over their alpha in an effort to shield him from the world.

"Now I'm confused," The lion lieutenant began as he watched what was going on with the three men now verses what he had been told just a moment ago. "If the room was completely dark when this all took place and nobody was around, how do you know about this?" The feline asked as he turned his head towards the mouse intern.
"Well, sir," The rodent began with a smile. "There are hidden cameras inside of that room that come on whenever they sense motion inside of there. This was, in a previous effort, an attempt to monitor lab animals throughout the night while giving the research team on duty a chance to go on break or to sleep when the work permitted it."
"More tax dollars on newfangled machinery spent, I see."
"Hardly, and had it not been for those cameras then we would have spent longer than we needed to finding out just where these three had gone. Worse off, without them it would have let us miss out of the chance at seeing just how these newly formed creatures interact with each other in a concealed space. No one had to force them and no one had to get hurt, so I look at it as a success." The mouse seemed to all but puff himself up in accomplishment.
"I bet you do." The intern quickly deflated.
"You know something," The lion cocked an eyebrow at the smaller man. "You're a real piece of work."
"Thank you; that's my job." The lion grunted as the mouse gave a dry sigh. "Now how about we talk about your job and how you and the rest of the team plan to get them out of there."
"We don't."
"Excuse me?" The lieutenant inquired with a growl.
"Look at them carefully," The mouse waited until the lion did as such before continuing. "They're in the throes of heated bodily entanglement with each other; do you think that any researcher in this building is going to disturb this wonder of scientific curiosity?" The mouse growled back at the feline, something of a curiosity within itself.
"If you all want to keep your jobs you better had!"
"Just remember, lieutenant, what happened with your other men. You want to really try and go in there with them now? And risk getting someone exposed to that!?"
The lion had to stop and think about this one carefully as he watched the three men rut with one another while tentacles whipped throughout the air and sprayed slime across every corner of the room. Thankfully however, the thick and mucous-like substance missed the lights, which had been flipped on once one of the researchers finally was able to get in with the help of their coworkers via the panel onside of the wall to the left of the door.
"If that's what it takes." The lion said so coolly that the intern could only blink at him in amazement. "Listen you,"
"Maverick."
"Whatever; until we know what we have and what we're dealing with these things are to be considered hostile, dangerous and above all else, property of the government. So, yes, I expect you and your egghead team to put on hazmat suit, find something to pry that door open with, and then get in there and tear those three apart so you people can find out what's going on with them." The lion turned on his heel and then began to head out of the doorway, but upon getting to said door the maned feline turned back to the mouse, that was still looking up at him with his mouth hung open and said, "And I expect this to happen very soon, otherwise we do it my way...and my way involves a lot of mess.
And then the lion was gone.
All Maverick could do, once the other man was out of ear shot was to close his mouth with a clamp sound and then return his attention back to Alex, Jessie and Max. The three were just getting to the crescendo of their unknown time at mating with each other when the rodent let his lips pull upwards into a smile and then began to chuckle heartily.
"Military men," Maverick reached into his pocket and then pulled out a small device. "So simple minded that they never stop to think about the easier way to do things." The rodent went up to the glass window separating the three mutates from the outside world and then began to tap onto the glass.
"Oh guys! I think I have something you'd be interested in hearing!" Maverick smiled when three heads turned in his direction, right before he snickered when several strands of black fluids shot out of tentacles in his direction and onto the window between him and them.
"Maybe once you've finished up in there first," More rutting moans and pants came from behind the window as the Dane, dragon and kangaroo continued to bond even deeper with one another.
