Adventures in Carnal: Chapter 3
#3 of Adventures in Carnal
After escaping the prison and ending up in a gladiator arena, the new adventurers are forced to fight off waves of horny, angry Goblins in a desperate struggle for survival.
Well here it is, the third chapter. I wish more would comment on this. I can tell by the amount of faves and watches I've got since typing this that a lot of you enjoy it. Would be nice to get some feed back, so I can tell what needs improvement, or what more to add in the future.
"That's right, you're going to die." Red Bottom repeated, "You see, I can't risk you guys challenging me by becoming the next big Hobgoblin, and I don't feel like tracking down a buyer, too much work." The Hobgoblin said as he leaned back in his throne and pointed at Alkoric, Theo, and Vixie. "Maybe if the kid lives, we'll strap him back in for another attempt, thought I doubt he'll live through the arena if you guys can't." He said, now pointing to the naked Bastion who was holding his daggers at the ready.
"Now then, lets see what the brats can do. Release the new bloods!" Red Bottom ordered, holding up his right arm. The Goblins in the stands above were cheering as they were eager to see a good fight. On the far end of the arena, another door began to open, and out from it came a group of Goblins who still looked frightened of their surroundings.
They were bare assed naked, and armed with simple weapons consisting of mere daggers, and stone hammers. There were 7 of them in total, four males who had the hammers, and three females who had the daggers. They didn't look to be much older than 7 years at the oldest, but they were still demons, all the same.
"These brats are freshly turned, so they're still getting used to their demonic life style. I'm sure they'll be a good warm up before sending in the veterans." Red Bottom announced as Theo practically growled at him.
It was true, then. The kids they had been sent to rescue were already demons, and now they were going to have to put them out of their misery in front of a blood thirsty crowd. He watched as the Goblins did seem to be a bit uneasy about the predicament, but their Goblin mindset was already starting to take effect. He could see grins of anticipation on their faces as they were psyching themselves up for the battle.
"Begin!" Red Bottom shouted and the new Goblins rushed into battle. Weapons raised, and giving rather amusing battle cries. The four adventurers quickly got to work, putting their training to the test.
As two of the girls tried to pounce on Alkoric, he glared and thrust outward with his right leg, kicking one of the child sized demons in the head and sending her sprawling to the ground. He tried to follow up with a swipe of his left axe towards the other girl, but she dodged out of the way and delivered a shallow strike to his right thigh.
Meanwhile, Vixie was having troubles of her own. She thrust her staff in one of the male's directions and from it lanced a more concentrated version of her flame spell she used to break the bindings. Just as the Goblin leaped in the air at her, the jet of flames impacted his chest and knocked him backwards, landing on his rear as a scorch mark had been seared into his chest. Judging by how his eyes rolled back, she could guess he was in too much pain to continue fighting at the moment. She was about to scan the area for another target, when a heavy object impacted the back of her leg and she went down with a yelp of pain.
"That was my brother, you cunt!" said one of the Goblins, clutching Vixie's hood and pulling it back. She could see it was another male who had his hammer up, ready to bash her skull open. Before he could bring it down, however, there was a sharp, squishing sound as a curved blade erupted from the Goblins forehead and chest.
Vixie looked on to see that Bastion had snuck up behind and impaled the Goblin with his daggers, yanking them free as the Goblin collapsed as a corpse, and she began climbing back to her feet, doing her best to ignore the sharp pain on her knee.
Theo found the third female, and two other males surrounding him, recognizing him as the healer of the group, they decided to take him out quickly. But it would be more difficult than they thought, for as the female began to close in, the young priest delivered a hard strike with his mace, catching her in the jaw. The power of the mace activated, as a small glow of purifying light burst from the impact of the mace. The Goblin went down, clutching at her face and screaming in pain from the magic and the realization he had knocked some of her teeth loose.
"May your souls be cleansed!" Theo declared, holding up his free hand to the two males as it glowed with a pure, white light. A cone of light shined forward like a flash light, and as the Goblins were caught in it, they yelped in pain as an intense heat penetrated their souls. Their flesh began to smoke and they quickly ran in the opposite direction to escape the attack.
Theo knew that once they were demons, there was nothing he could do to ever return them to human form. But at the very least, he could end their lives so they didn't condem others to their same torment. He stared sadly at the injured female and after uttering a half hearted plea of forgiveness, he held his hand over her and fired another display of light. The Goblin yelled in pain as her body began to smoke and after about 7 seconds of exposure, she burst into dust.
The spell was a low level one taught at the temple known as Cleansing Light. When used on humans, it expelled corruption within their souls, but when used on demons, it caused great, burning agony. Unfortunately, the spell was only effective on low level, novice demons, as stronger and more experienced ones could shrug off its effects. Indeed, the stronger the demon, the stronger the purification spell needed to effect them.
He turned and shined his light on the Goblin that Alkoric had kicked to the floor. She immediately began flailing in pain before rolling out of the way and back to her feet. It seemed the kick wasn't strong enough to actually kill her, but it had left her stunned.
"A warrior, a priest, a mage, and a rogue. Got to give them points, they certainly came with a balanced party." Red Bottom said, drumming his fingers on one of the arm rests as he watched the pathetic, untrained Goblins getting their asses kicked by the young heroes. By the time the first minute into the match had ended, almost all the Goblins were dead, save for one male, and one female.
The male and female were back to back now, realizing they were out classed. Theo sighed as he held up his hand and with a last yelp of pain, the two Goblins burst into dust. Unfortunately, after finishing off the last pair, he suddenly felt very dizzy. He had used too much magic too rapidly, and it was taking its toll on his mind and spirit, he didn't have the stamina of some of the high ranking priests.
"Well that was even more pathetic than I expected. They didn't even last two minutes." Red Bottom jeered, resting his head on his right hand, "I suppose I'll just need to send out the real deal. Show those brats how a real demon fights." He said, snapping his fingers. This time, 10 Goblins who were in the stands jumped down into the arena, carrying weapons of their own. These looked to be much better suited, actually having steel axesm short swords, and what looked to be an arm mounted sling shot.
With the 10 who had descended into the arena, only five other Goblins were left, sitting closer to the throne. Theo remembered that the report mentioned no more than 15 Goblins in this tribe, not counting the 7 new ones they had just dispatched. It was likely those last 5 were his elite fighters. He hoped they wouldn't have to fight those 5 alongside Red Bottom himself.
"So much for an easy mission." Bastion said, as the four grouped together in a circle formation to prevent them from being surrounded. "Theo's already exhausted, Vixie can barely walk, and I'm unarmored." He listed off.
"Nothing wrong with me." Alkoric said flatly, as he hefted his axes, practically begging the demons to make a move with his body language. Three Goblins obliged him by charging in, as he delivered a double X strike, unfortunately, it seemed their improved training was, indeed, superior because the two on the sides blocked his axes with swords, while the middle Goblin delivered a powerful blow with a hammer to the berserker's stomach, knocking the breath out of him as he sagged to one knee.
"Shit, they really are skilled! Attack!" Vixie shouted, swinging her staff outward as her robes flared in the wind, and a blast of kinetic force shot out from the tip. One Goblin was slammed by the blast and sent sprawling backwards, but another side stepped around him and aimed a wrist rocket at the magi, firing a stone ball at her. Vixie couldn't move in time as her right arm was pelted by the rock, right at the elbow joint. It hurt like hell and forced her to drop her staff as a reflex.
Theo realized the danger and was already pushing himself harder. He needed to get a healing spell up before his friends were too badly injured to continue fighting. He worked through the dizziness and swung his mace out to counter a Goblin's attempt to chop him with an axe, the two weapons canceling each other out as he stepped back, closer to the party.
"Gods give us strength, we could really use a miracle right now!" He half prayed, and half begged as his friends began to glow and felt renewed strength flowing into their bodies. Unfortunately as the spell worked, Theo's stamina conked out, and his knees buckled. The priest collapsed in a heap, panting as he desperately tried to remain conscious, half heartedly flailing his mace whenever a Goblin tried to get too close.
"Healer's down!" Shouted Bastion as he leg sweeped at a Goblin and luckily managed to knock her off her feet. With one swift follow up motion, he jumped on her, slamming his knees into her stomach and impaling her eyes with his blades.
"You think I'm going to let some brats like you overpower me!?" Alkoric shouted as he rose back to his feet and tightened his grip on his weapons, the leather binding making a clenching sound. Theo and Vixie both recognized it, he was about to fly into a blood rage, the signature technique of the berserker division of the Purity adventure guild.
As more Goblins approached, he let out a massive roar, saliva flying from his mouth as he charged forward. One Goblin tried to get in his way, but he stomped on it, squashing its head into the dirt as he delivered a low swing, knocking another Goblin's weapon out of his hand and leaving a vertical gash trailing up his face. He continued charging forward, hacking, stomping, and cleaving his way through any demon stupid enough to get in his way.
"Take care of the left overs!' Vixie shouted, realizing the Goblins were now too distracted by Alkoric to pay them much attention, "Give Theo time to rest and recover his magic!" She added, thrusting her staff forward with another bolt of force catching a Goblin in the side, who was too busy gawking at Alkoric to notice the incoming attack.
Vixie had more stamina when it came to magical spells, as her training was on offense, rather than support, yet she too was starting to feel the strain of too much magical energy. She had to hold on, for the sake of Alkoric, Theo, and Bastion. If both casters went down, they would be no match for the remaining Goblins, especially if they were stronger than these guys.
She managed to avoid a female Goblin's attempt to slash at her knees and retaliated by stabbing the demon's left eye with the end of her staff like a spear. Unfortunately, she didn't have the time to react to another Goblin pair using the first as a distraction and were about to stab her with swords.
There was the sound of whirling metal before the two Goblins yelped in surprise as two curved daggers lanced into their backsides, causing the two to crumble forward to reveal Bastion kneeling behind them, he had thrown his daggers to slay them in time and now he rushed forward to retrieve his weapons.
"Thanks, Bastion!" Vixie said before turning to see that Alkoric had done a fairly nice job of cleaning up the other Goblins who by this point were either dead, or severely injured. It seemed they were actually going to have a shot at winning if they could keep Alkoric in good condition!
"It seems for new graduates, they're pretty brave." whispered a figure who had been hiding behind Red Bottom's throne, "I admit, I didn't expect them to actually be able to kill this many, but sadly, they seem to be wearing down." The figure said, keeping its appearance hidden in shadows. Red Bottom simply grunted at the stranger's comments as he watched his warriors being finished off.
It didn't matter, he was well beyond them in training, and they were far too exhausted to put up a decent fight. The figure behind him seemed to no longer have an interest in the fight and took its leave, the sound of swirling wind evidence of its teleportation magic it had originally used to contact Red Bottom and inform him the adventurers were on their way.
"Enough!" Red Bottom shouted as he saw the last of the Goblins being decapitated by Alkoric, "Do you have any idea how hard it is capturing that many children when so many settlements are under protective wards?" the Hobgoblin said, "It looks like I'll have to finish you off myself." He said.
"What about your 5 elites up there?" Alkoric challenged, raising his axe to the five Goblins who had been sitting around the throne, "Aren't you going to send them in for the finishing touches?" He asked. Red Bottom looked at the 5 Goblins and let out a deep laugh.
"Elite troops? These slutty bitches are my harem!" he replied, "After I kill you all, I'm going to knock them up and begin rebuilding the tribe. They're my insurance policy, so I don't have to kidnap more children if the tribe's killed off!" He explained, rising from his chair as the five Goblins who by now were evidently females as the adventurers got a better look at them, began scurrying away from the throne to give their master room to move.
Red Bottom rose from the chair and drew something out from behind it, a large, iron paddle with holes bored into the plating to decrease wind resistance. The paddle was six feet long and looked to be nearly two inches thick.
"This is called the Booty Basher! I use it to tan the asses of punks like you!" Red Bottom shouted as he jumped over the bleachers, landing in the arena and hefting the weapon over his right shoulder.
"Come on!" He shouted, beckoning them with his free hand. Bastion darted around and tried to catch him from the sides by tossing a rock at the Hobgoblin, but Red Bottom swung his paddle like a bat with one arm and sent the rock flying towards Vixie who yelped in surprise when the rock beamed her in the forehead, knocking her unconscious as a small trickle of blood ran down her face.
"Vixie!" Bastion shouted, but in a flash of movement, Red Bottom was already upon him and brought the paddle across from the right. Bastion was too slow to react, as the metal slammed into his exposed, soft ass and he was actually lifted off the ground from the impact, and send flying through the air, skidding to a halt 5 feet away from where he stood. He was in too much pain to move.
"That just leaves the berserker." Red Bottom gloated, turning to see Alkoric already charging forward and swinging his axes down vertically. Red Bottom swung his paddle up and caught the blades, smiling as his demonic strength countered out his human opponent's.
"You're the only one in fighting condition, savage. Try to make this last." He taunted, giving a wide grin to Alkoric as he prepared to end this fight once and for all.
End of Chapter 3.
