After the event in the alleyway, Kevin and Aiden found a small coffee shop to relax in. there was an awkward silence for quite awhile between the two furs. Kevin's mind was spinning with wonder and confusion, as he tried to make sense of what had just happened. Blake was a vampire who had tried to kill him, and Aiden was another vampire, who had just saved his life. Stairway to Heaven played over the radio on the bar, as Aiden broke the silence.
"I guess you have some questions, huh?" Aiden asked, staring into his coffee.
"You think?" Kevin laughed.
"Ask me anything you want. I'll tell you everything. I Just hope you don't hate me." Aiden said, looking away.
"I don't hate you. I'm just a little freaked." Kevin explained. "I mean, I almost became a three course meal for a vampire, and then my sorry butt gets saved by another vampire."
"Yeah. That was pretty close." Aiden said.
"How did you know I was in trouble?" Kevin asked, looking up.
"I can see things that are about to happen, before they happen. Sort of like a fortune teller." Aiden said, brushing his long hair back.
"Can all vampires do that?" Kevin asked.
"No. Just me. Anything else?" Aiden asked.
"Oh I have a hell of a lot of questions, but right now, we need to go to the music shop." Kevin said.
"Any reason why?" Aiden said, a little confused.
"I promised my mom I'd be there after her book signing was done. She was going to pick me up. Plus, I want to check and see if they have a guitar for sale." Kevin said.
"Okay. Let's go." Aiden said, getting up and holding out his hand.
Kevin flinched, still a little wary of Aiden's true nature, but eventually smiled and took his hand. The pair exited the shop and walked up the business strip of town towards the music shop.
"See that grocery store? I was around when it opened forty-three years ago." Aiden said.
"Just how old are you, anyway?" Kevin asked.
"four-hundred and nine. I've seen many things since I was born. Oh, the things I could tell you." Aiden said.
"Holy hell. You were around when this country was settled?" Kevin marveled.
"Yup. I'm originally from Italy, or at least my family was. I watched this side of the world grow, fall, then grow again." Aiden said.
"You must have been lonely. Did you love anyone?" Kevin asked.
Aiden stopped and took both of Kevin's hands.
"Yes, and...I ruined his life. I don't want to say anymore about it. I'm with you now, and that's what matters." Aiden said, kissing Kevin on the forehead.
Kevin smiled and put an arm around Aiden's waist. The whole time they walked they talked about Aiden's abilities as a vampire. Turns out he was super strong, super fast and super smart. They finally arrived at the Valkyrie Music shop.
"Wow! This place is awesome!" Kevin said.
"Somehow I thought you'd get a kick out of this place." Aiden said, smiling.
"Oh I love it! I know where I'm spending my time with you." Kevin laughed.
"You see anything you like?" A cat walked up and said. "And cool stripes by the way."
"Thanks. Actually, I'm looking for a good priced guitar." Kevin said.
"Well we have plenty. Name's Maddie. I own the place." She said.
"Nice to meet you Maddie." Kevin said, shaking her hand.
"We have many different models. Fender, Gibson, you name it, we can get it. So what are you looking for?" Maddie asked.
"Can I have a look?" Kevin asked.
"Go ahead. Let me know when you got something." Maddie smiled.
There were a lot of electric guitars hanging on the wall. One had flames on it, another had camo, another had tiger stripes. Kevin finally found one that he liked. It was dark blue with white angel wings. The price was fifteen hundred dollars.
"I love this one!" Kevin said.
"Phew! The price is kind of steep." Aiden said.
"It's okay. I have enough. Mom gave me over three thousand to spend on myself today." Kevin said marveling over the guitar.
"Cool! So what else do you want?" Aiden asked.
"I think I better buy an amp and some strings. Some cables to hook it up too." Kevin said.
"Actually, we have a promotion going on right now." Maddie walked up and said, "I see you like our angel winged Gibson. No one would touch that one for some reason."
"What's the promotion?" Aiden asked.
"We provide an amp, along with replacement strings as a good gesture for shopping with us." Maddie said. "You want to test it to see if you like it?"
"Sure! I'd love to." Kevin said.
Maddie brought Kevin's amp out from the back and hooked his guitar up for him. The guitar hummed to life in his hands, making him smile. It had been years since he held a guitar and wondered if he still knew how to play.
"Oh hell." Kevin muttered.
He took of playing the beginning riff to Snow by Red Hot Chili Peppers. As he played, he sang every word for the first verse. Everyone in the store was watching as he played and some were clapping along with the song. Kevin saw that he was being watched and goofed a bit out of nervousness.
"Hey that was wonderful!" Maddie said, "you're a real natural!"
"It's been awhile since I last played." Kevin said.
"Well, you sure remembered quick!" Aiden said, hugging him.
"Hey, listen. For that performance, I'm gonna hook you up with a case. Free of charge!" Maddie said. "I can even offer you a job here if you like."
"Thanks. I'll think about it." Kevin said.
"Come on hon. Let's go meet your mom at the book shop." Aiden said.
The two said goodbye to Maddie and left the shop. As they walked down the street toward the bookshop, Aiden began laughing.
"What so damn funny?" Kevin said.
"You never cease to amaze me. Not only do you have fight in you or are afraid of vampires, but you can play guitar too? HA!" Aiden laughed.
"And that's funny how?" Kevin said, getting a little pissed. "It's not. I'm laughing because I'm happy at how I lucked out. I found you, and now, I'm never letting you go." Aiden said.
"I'm never letting you go either." Kevin said, stopping to kiss Aiden.
"So...you love me?" Aiden asked.
"Of course I love you, ya moron." Kevin laughed.
"Heh, I love you too." Aiden said.
As they neared the bookshop, more and more people were racing past them. The book shop had a line out of it stretching clear around the block. They were all holding copies of Kevin's mother's books.
"Wow. More people showed than I thought." Kevin said.
"Well your mom IS a famous writer. A lot of people are gonna show. Should we wait outside?" Aiden said.
"You said you were really damn fast right?" Kevin said, grinning.
"Yeah. Why?" Aiden said.
"You could run me back to my house and we could stay there until she gets home. I'll call her when we get there." Kevin said.
"I like the way you think." Aiden said. "Come on! In this alley."
They raced into the alley, away from the crowd. Aiden picked up the guitar, amp, and bag full of guitar supplies, then instructed Kevin to climb on his back.
"Hang on tight." Aiden laughed.
Like a bolt of lightning, Aiden took off down the road and out of town. Kevin cheered and giggled like a schoolgirl at the ride, watching the world go by faster than his eyes could see. After 5 minutes, Aiden stopped dead in front of Kevin's house in the forest.
"HA! WOW! That was awesome!" Kevin shouted.
"You liked that, did you?" Aiden said, handing Kevin his guitar.
"Is that how you get around?" Kevin asked.
"Pretty much. Beats the hell out of driving or walking." Aiden said.
"Don't you ever get tired?" Kevin asked.
"Only if I go too long without drinking blood." Aiden said.
"Oh...well, Come on. Let me show you my room." Kevin said.
Kevin took Aiden's hand and walked with him into the house, up the stairs and into his room. He sat the guitar and amp down in the corner and immediately threw himself onto Aiden.
"Whoa! Easy there sweety. Aren't you going a little fast?" Aiden said, a little surprised.
"Why not? We have two more hours until mom comes home, and I wanna have some fun!" Kevin giggled.
"Heh, alright. Take off your clothes and get on the bed." Aiden cooed.
Kevin slid off his pants slowly, to tease Aiden. Aiden took off his shirt in response, then put his hands on Kevin's hips and rubbed up against him.
"You are such a fucking tease." Aiden said.
"Mmm...I know it." Kevin giggled.
Kevin took off his shirt, then turned to face Aiden's smiling face. They kissed deeply, falling onto the bed in their embrace. Aiden pulled Kevin's Boxers off and licked his hardening shaft tenderly.
"Ooh...that feels so nice." Kevin said with a shudder.
"Heh, you must be a virgin. You are tender to the touch!" Aiden laughed.
"I'm not a virgin!" Kevin said.
"Relax. I was just kidding. Now lie back and brace yourself." Aiden said with a grin.
"What? Why-" Was all Kevin got out.
Aiden swallowed as much of Kevin's cock into his maw as he could get. He bobbed his head up and down, moving his tongue inside his mouth to make it more pleasurable.
"OH MY GOD!" Kevin cried.
There was a loud rumble just as Kevin cried out. He just wrote it off as thunder. His whole body shook with lust, as he felt himself becoming more and more in a trance.
"*Slurp* talk...I wanna hear you moan." Aiden pulled back to say.
"I...oh fuck!" Kevin said.
Aiden's hands found their way up to Kevin's nipples, teasing them and pinching them.
"OH GOD! It's too much!" Kevin moaned.
"I'll show you too much!" Aiden said.
Aiden pulled Kevin's rear end off the bed and angled him to where his hole was aimed right at him. He began licking Kevin's hole roughly, much to his delight, all the while, jacking Kevin off.
"AHHH! Oh fuck that's great!" Kevin shouted.
"You like that babe?" Aiden said.
"OH GOD YES!" Kevin shouted again.
"Then you'll love this..." Aiden said with an evil grin.
Kevin felt Aiden's fingers against him, teasing and spreading him wider.
"WAIT!" Kevin said.
But it was too late. Aiden shoved two fingers inside Kevin's tight ass with some force. Kevin's eyes went wide in surprise. He felt so good, his claws were ripping into his bed.
"AHHHH!" Kevin moaned.
There was another rumble, this time enough to shake the house.
"It's...oh god...just thunder...Fuck!" Kevin said.
Aiden dove back onto Kevin's cock and began sucking away once again, fingering him hard in unison. Kevin's tongue lolled out of his mouth as he panted and moaned.
"Mmm...you taste great..." Aiden said.
"SHIT! You're fingering me so hard! I can hardly breathe!" Kevin cried.
Aiden could feel Kevin tightening himself, and could tell he was close to cumming. He fingered him harder and harder until he almost shoved his entire fist inside him. Kevin's eyes shot open as he felt himself bursting
"AHHHHHHH! I'M CUMMING!" Kevin roared.
Suddenly, an unseen force made the window explode outward. The force then threw Aiden into the wall across from Kevin, making a large dent. The mirror, which Kevin looked at, broke in several places. He thought he saw his eyes glow golden in his reflection just before it broke.
"What the fuck was that!?" Kevin said.
He got up from the bed and ran over to Aiden, who wasn't moving.
"Aiden?! AIDEN! Talk to me!" Kevin said.
"Babe...That was a chosen one's power." Aiden grunted.
"A chosen one? Are we in danger?" Kevin asked, horrified.
"Not if you don't do that again." Aiden said, stumbling to his feet.
"ME?! What are you talking about?" Kevin said.
"Babe, I sensed the power coming from you, a second before you came. By the time I caught it, it was to late. You just unleashed your first Magic Burst. You...are a Chosen One." Aiden said, looking all around the room.
After telling Kevin's mother about the window, Aiden took the heat for breaking it.
"How the hell did it even happen?" Holly said.
"It was me, Ms. Adams. Kevin and I were having fun and I was clumsy and fell out of it. I'll pay for it, I Promise." Aiden said.
"I'm just glad neither of you were hurt! As for paying for it, I think you keeping my son out of trouble is payment enough. Now, don't you two have homework to do?" Holly said.
"Yeah. Again, I'm really sorry." Aiden said.
"It's okay. Now off you go!" Holly said with a smile.
Aiden walked into Kevin's bedroom and found him hiding in the corner.
"What on earth are you doing?" Aiden asked.
"Aren't you afraid to come near me?" Kevin asked.
"No. Why would I be?" Aiden asked.
"Because I threw you like a damn rag doll. I could've really hurt you." Kevin said.
"It's gonna take a lot more than magic to kill me. Besides, now that you're a chosen one, I can train to control your magic." Aiden said with a smile.
"I feel like a freak..." Kevin whispered then buried his head in his hands.
"So did I when I became a vampire." Aiden said, holding him. "But being special is nothing to be ashamed of."
"Can you use magic?" Kevin asked.
"Yes, but I stopped using magic a long time ago. I still know the spells though. That is, if you want to learn." Aiden said.
"I...don't know. What if I lose control again?" Kevin asked.
"I won't let that happen." Aiden said sitting next to Kevin.
"What was that I did anyway?" Kevin said.
"That was a Magic Burst. In times of stress, pain, or even pleasure, the magic power inside a chosen one manifests itself as an invisible force of nature. It is very difficult to do intentionally." Aiden said.
What is a chosen one even supposed to be?" Kevin asked.
Aiden smiled and brushed Kevin's hair away from his eyes.
"A Chosen One is a being filled with magic. The legends used to say that Magic would choose a mortal by chance, and make him a chosen one when he or she is of age. If the magic is left unchecked, it would drive that chosen one insane. There are millions and millions of chosen ones around the world, but they prefer to keep their abilities a secret from vampires, and for good reason." Aiden explained.
"Why?" Kevin asked.
"Vampires nearly committed genocide on Chosen Ones two hundred years ago. They claimed Chosen ones were planning to run the worlds progress. Peace was finally brokered fifty years after the purges started. By then, though, there weren't many Chosen Ones left. But they're back now and they are many." Aiden replied.
"This is almost mind numbing. I can use magic?" Kevin said.
"I'll prove it. Hold out your hand, focus on it, and say, 'Sphire Liet'." Aiden said.
Kevin did so, holding out his hand and focusing his mind on it.
"Sphire Liet!" Kevin said.
A ball of glowing light appeared in his hand, hovering there for a few moments. In surprise, Kevin lost focus, and the ball of light dissipated.
"WOW! What was that?" Kevin said in wonder.
"That was the Light Ball spell. It can help you see when you are in a dark place. You are gonna be a great Chosen one, one day." Aiden said.
"I would be lost without you." Kevin said, leaning his head on Aiden's shoulder. " I Love you Aiden." "I Love you too." Aiden said.
That night, Aiden was allowed to stay over, much to Kevin's delight. They both sat on his the bed and discussed magic further.
"Teach me another spell!" Kevin said excitedly.
"Okay, okay. Calm down. Now I'm gonna teach you a levitation spell. See that hanger in the closet?" Aiden said.
"Yeah." Kevin said.
"Look at it, then say, 'Hawliet'." Aiden said.
"Okay." Kevin said, then stared at the hanger. "Hawliet!"
The Hanger shook a little then lifted itself off the rack. It drifted slowly in midair, then made its way into Kevin's hands.
"HA! I did it!" Kevin said with glee.
"Great! You're a quick study. With practice, you can even lift a large boulder." Aiden said.
"Cool! I can't wait to try!" Kevin said.
"Now wait just a minute, hotshot. Your good but not that good. At least not yet. You need practice. Tomorrow, we'll go into the wood's and practice the big stuff." Aiden said, scratching Kevin's ear.
"Mmm...okay." Kevin said
"Get some sleep. I'll watch over you. I promise." Aiden said.
The next morning, Kevin woke to Aiden standing at the window, staring out into the forest.
"Good morning." Kevin said.
"Good morning Kevin." Aiden said, walking over and kissing his forehead. "You ready to practice today?"
"Can I at least have breakfast?" Kevin laughed.
"Heh, sure hon." Aiden said.
The pair walked downstairs to find a note pinned to the fridge. It was from Kevin's Mother:
Kevin, I left some pancakes for you and Aiden in the stove. They should still be warm by the time you get up. If not, then I'm sorry. I have a meeting in town with my publicist. I'll see you two later this evening. Love you! Mom
"Well I guess were having pancakes. Or at least I am." Kevin said.
"Go ahead and eat." Aiden said.
Kevin picked up the plate of pancakes and sat down to eat.
"All you feed on is blood?" Kevin asked as he took his first bite.
"I can eat regular food, if I wish. But it never fully satisfies. It's the equivalent of eating crumbs." Aiden said.
"Huh. Learn something new every day." Kevin said.
"Yeah." Aiden said. Looking out of the window.
There was a rumbling noise, and some of the trees outside shook. Kevin gasped as visions of a tan furred mouse running through the woods Filled his mind. Aiden grabbed his hand.
"Honey what is it?! What do you see?" Aiden said.
"It's a boy...he's being followed. They're....vampires! He's being hunted by vampires! We have to help him!" Kevin said, panicking.
"Come on! You can lead me!" Aiden said
Aiden picked up Kevin and sped off into the woods.
"He's by the town waterfall! He's hiding, but I think they know he's there! HURRY!" Kevin said.
Aiden's legs went as fast as they would carry him. Trees and brush swayed in his wake as he sped along the trails. A lone deer was knocked out of the way by accident as he shot past it.
"There!" Kevin yelled.
A tan furred, slender mouse boy with shoulder length hair was standing on the edge of a cliff, with four vampires hissing and growling at him.
"Please help me!" The boy yelled.
Aiden roared and leapt at the first vampire, a hyena, and killed him easily. Two more jumped on him and pinned him to the ground. Aiden then kicked them off and poised himself for another attack.
The one vampire stared at Kevin like he was an appetizer. The vampire bared his fangs and leapt at the mouse boy, making the mouse boy cringe in fear. Two words flooded Kevin's mind, so he used them.
"TETRA VIA!" Kevin screamed at the vampire.
The an invisible force slammed the vampire into the ground repeated, until he was bloodied and broken. Kevin turned his attention to the two vampires attacking Aiden, then repeated the words.
"TETRA VIA!" Kevin roared.
The two vampires were thrown off of the cliff and down onto the rocks below. One exploded into ashes on impact, and the other hit the ground hard.
"Th-thank you. I'm in your debt." The mouse boy said. "I thought I was a dead mouse!"
"You okay?" Aiden said.
"AHHH! VAMPIRE! Stay away!" The boy said.
"No no! It's alright! He's a good one! A very good one." Kevin said.
"You're...not gonna kill me?" The boy said.
"No. I'm not. What's your name kid?" Aiden said.
"Kashito. My name's Kashito. And if you try to bite me, I'll flatten ya!" Kashito said with a grin.
A couple hours later, the three furs sat at the local coffee house. Kashito was explaining how he came to be in Nightingale falls.
"I've been running for the last three years from those pricks. They belong to a group called The Old Ones. They still believe that Chosen Ones are trying to rule the earth." Kashito said, brushing back his hair.
"Have you ever heard of them?" Kevin asked Aiden.
"No, this is the first I've heard of them. There are lots of factions out there, but I've never heard of the Old Ones. How serious a threat are they?" Aiden said.
"From what I hear, they kidnap both vampires and Chosen Ones of considerable ability and use dark magic to enslave them. Those they can't enslave, they kill." Kashito said.
"Why were they after you?" Kevin asked.
"Because of what I can do. I'm particularly gifted in elemental magic." Kashito said.
"Are you?" Kevin said. "Yes. In some ways, I can hear elements talking. Fire, for instance, as it burns, sings to me. I can control it, even create it, which is difficult. Even for a chosen one. If they had control over me, they would be able to capture whoever they want." Kashito said.
"Your right. I'm glad we found you." Aiden said.
"How did you find me exactly?" Kashito asked.
"I'm...not so sure what happened. I was eating breakfast and then I was seeing things in my head. Visions of you being chased. I don't know what it was." Kevin said, staring into his coffee.
"Wow! You've had visions? That is BEYOND rare in Chosen Ones!" Kashito said.
"It is?" Kevin said.
"Yeah. Legend has it there's only a select few every hundred years who have visions." Kashito said.
"I didn't even know Chosen Ones could have visions. I thought it was only vampires that could do that." Aiden said.
"Nope. Chosen Ones can do it too! And it seems your boyfriend is one of the chosen few." Kashito said.
"How did you know?" Aiden said.
"I could tell by the way you both act." Kashito said.
Kevin gasped and dumped his coffee as visions of wolves running through the woods. One of them, a white one, had a scar on his face. He was barking orders at the others to find the devil mouse.
"Honey? Honey talk to me!" Aiden said.
"What do you see Kevin?" Kashito said.
"More Vampires...they're hunting for someone...a demon mouse..." Kevin said.
"Sounds like me." Kashito said.
"How far away are they?" Aiden asked.
"I can't tell. I can only see them...but I don't think they're far. I think we're gonna have company soon." Kevin said, catching a breath.
"Looks like I'm gonna have to go into hiding." Kashito said.
"Don't worry. We'll protect you." Aiden said.
"Yeah. Like it or not, Kashito, your one of us now." Kevin said, smiling. "That doesn't sound too bad." Kashito said, smiling back.
