Author's Note: Hey there! It's been a good couple of years since I've posted here, but rest assured, I still haven't forgot my stories. This new series will be my attempt to reboot my Twin World series. For those of you who have not read them yet, they're saved in my profile's archives. After a couple of drafts however, I found it easier to start off from semi-scratch. For this new series, I am keeping the old characters, as well as the events of the first couple of chapters of Twin World Crossover. As I add more chapters, I'll try and put in updated character profiles to help you keep up. For now, however, a little tidbit for you guys as I work on the first couple of chapters!

Heavy footsteps fell upon the ancient stone floor. Angry footsteps befitting the rage of the priestess dragoness that strode down the hall. To any other clan, the matter before her would have been a mere trifle, nothing more than an anomaly in the day to day happenings of her people. But her clan was not just any other clan. She threw open the large doors before her, opening up to a room lit only by torchlight, a round table placed in the middle. The reddish light danced across her purple scales, their lack of luster reflecting her old age. Two other dragons stood at the table, snapping to attention at she barged in, yet the show of respect did nothing to placate her

"You let her go!?"

One of the dragons responded, an older dragon, but not as old at their elder. "I told you, we should have restrained her. She was getting too free willed."

"Do not lecture me upon such a dumb idea. Restraining her would have shown her doubt in our people's cause, in the True Guard. We need unity to have any chance of defeating the false guard."

The other dragon, a military commander shook his head. "You are loosing sight of our current situation Naray. Not only have we been fightng the Rhulhulha for the past two thousand years, but your actions of recent have made the Shotel and Kafhra our enemies. Even the Tzura are debating whether or not to retract humanitarian aid from our people and the Akivals have moved several special forces clusters to the Hanadam Mountains."

"We will not need aid if we regain the confidence of our people. Mayatei was no less than a god to my clan. A serpent dragon like her is a blessing from the gods, and should we show your clans her power, I am sure they will find the strength to face even the Southern Cross."

The commander dragon's eyes went wide. "The Southern Cross, are you mad Naray!? The last time we angered them, they razed an entire village and killed every single one of our people there. We are not ready!"

Naray swatted him across the tip of his snout. "Of course I remember you idiot. We won't be ready to face them until we have Mayatei back. Once we have her, I am sure we can convince some of the priest clans to lend us their support."

The older dragon sighed begrudgingly. "Very well. We will trust your judgement for now and help get Mayatei back."

"Thank you. You will not regret this my friends." Naray bowed her head solemnly. "For the ressurection of the True Guard."

"For the True Guard, for the True King."

Cool water lapped against her scales, hiding her form in the river. Before her laid salvation, the city of Cobalus and, inside, the Palace of the Unity Council. For three weeks had she been on the run from her clan, the An'mansa. She herself was of great value to them, a symbol of the gods favor, and the anchor to which they hoped rebels to the crown would flock to. And yet, she had heard nothing good of their plans, of their intentions towards the other species. If the gods created the world, and created the people who walked upon it, then why were they inferior to dragons? Why should they be exterminated? There was no answer she could find in her texts. Instead she found the history of the dragons, the oldest and most advanced species to every exist, the eternal guardians of the world and keepers of the peace. It was not her species place to decide the fate of the world.

As she swam forwards, she dove under the walls of the city, easily flitting through the bars that kept sappers out in ancient times, now with no use now. The dark night sky twinkled with stars and the streets were lined with torches, casting shadows over the vendors who still hung onto the hope for that one more sale. A few more seconds of swimming, and she reached a dock, upon which she pulled herself out of the water. Shivering lightly, she climbed the steps to the street, her clothes dripping wet still. As she ran, bystanders couldn't help but stare, a barefoot, scared dragoness running down the street was not an everyday occurance.

A quick turn around the corner brought her flight to a halt as she slammed into another person. Tumbling backwards, she fell and gazed up on her obstacle. A very suprised burgandy and black dragon stared back, holding hands with a white and golden yellow dragoness. He said something in a language she didn't understand, smiling and extending a hand to help her up. She froze for a moment before she blurted out an apology.

"Myaik! Myaik, kutr pehl nah prek!"

And with that, she scrambled past the dragon, ignoring his kindess and instead setting a path for the Palace. She needed to get there as soon as possible, before they found her.

The King needed to know that there was an Exile who was still a dragon.
