#3 of The Beast Within

A revised version of the final entry of Beast Within. Took a long time to get it finished originally, and a lot longer that I had wanted to apply the feedback given. I hope it will be enjoyable to those who read it.

And here is the revised version of the final entry of Beast Within. If you have not read the first one yet, I advise against reading this part of the story.

The moon filtered through the shades covering the windows, casting its filtered light onto the bed. Down the hall the faint sound of crying could be heard emitting from Winter's room. Melissa laid on the bed and worked her mind, trying to figure out what happened to her little baby girl during the short time they were away. Melissa turned to her husband of twenty-five years, with his aged fur looking pale in the moonlight, and could tell his mind was plagued with the same questions. The only thing she knew as fact at this moment was that the moon's light was slowly beginning to no longer have an effect her, and that the curse was being passed on.

Melissa placed a paw on her husband's chest and stared into his troubled eyes before speaking the words they both were afraid to say. "Kevin, you were right to come home early. I'm worried about Winter."

If it was not for the current circumstance he would have teased her on being right, but right now he dearly wished he reacted to his gut instinct sooner after leaving for their get away. He was glad they agreed to end the trip early when they both realized Melissa did not react as she normally did to the moon. "I am too Melissa. It hurts to see my baby girl hurting so much, but I did not think the curse would have this much of an emotional toll on her."

Melissa turned her gaze to the ceiling and folded her paws across her chest. "I fear it is not entirely the curse which is causing her to act the way she is, but something else greater contributing entirely to make her act how she has. Did you happen to see how she kept cautiously tossing a quick glance towards Mark on the way to, during, and after dinner? The scent of fear was strong on her."

"To be honest I was more focused on a different scent, but yes I did take notice."

"What other scent are you talking about?"

"I'm surprised you did not pick up on it. It was the scent of sex. It was powerful on her and it was fresh, very fresh. You don't think...?" Kevin did not like how his mind was connecting those two scents.

The two couple fell into silence until finally Melissa decided to speak what was on both of their minds. "Lord knows I may love him, but if Mark has done anything to Winter," As she whispered her thoughts she became angry thinking about it. Her claws slowly unsheathed and her tone grew harsh. "he will be made to regret it tenfold."

The growing anger unsettled Kevin, he has only witnessed her anger on such a level twice before, but he shared her thoughts. He could not blame her for getting worked up. He turned to face her and grasped her left paw with both of his, trying to calm her down. He tried to speak as calmly as he could. "Let us not jump to conclusions, now. We need to get the facts. This is a very complicated situation. We need to tred lightly until we find out if Mark is connected to this. To do it I believe the best way would be to separate him from Winter, so she might feel comfortable enough to be able to tell us what has happened, although that might be understandably hard to do."

She felt her self get calmer thanks to his support, but her blood still continued to boil. A plan began to form in her mind which should offer an opportunity to get her alone. "You just leave it to me. I'll take Winter out for a girl's day out while you are at work."

"That would work out better if I tried it. I'm sure she would feel better talking about it to you rather than her father. We need every advantage since it might be difficult to get her to spill the beans regardless."

Both of them grew silent. The air was filled with tension. Melissa decided to try to break the tension and gave a mock shocked and hurt expression with a small gasp for effect. "Give me some credit dear," Her expression changed to a more mischievous look. "I am a mother after all. We have ways to make them talk."

Kevin knew what she was trying to do, and gave a laugh for her effort. "That is true. Any more I can't surprise you with a gift. And if my memory is not failing me, that was how you got me propose to you."

The moonlight has all but vanished, with the moon's glow just beyond the window, leaving the room mostly dark. They closed in and kissed before agreeing to attempting to get some sleep, knowing that the following day will be hard on everyone. Melissa had a plan, and they both wanted nothing more than to ease the pain from their little girl.

***

Before Winter knew it morning came, its warm bright light penetrating through the cracks in the blinds. Her body felt exhausted from all the crying she did till he passed out. She felt she could cry no more tears, but her fear of her next violation was stronger than ever. Her eyes began to cautiously scan her room before she noticed someone looking through the door. She jumped a little and quickly covered herself using her covers as the door began to slowly open. Her fear took over and she shut her eyes and tried to pretend to be sleeping. She strained her ears to hear the familiar sounds of her brother's footsteps.

Melissa frowned at the sight, wondering what has been done to cause such a reaction. "You alright, Winter?"

Winter felt her body relax, and she let out her breath she did not notice she was holding at the sound of her mother's gentle voice. Slowly she sat up; looking away in hope her mother would not notice her bloodshot eyes. "I'm fine, mom, really. Just had a bad nightmare." Her voice was as dry as her throat felt.

Melissa did not buy that for a second, but considered the direct approach while still in the house had a snowball's chance to work. "Sorry if I woke you up, but I was wondering if you were awake. I thought we do not spend much time together. So if you want, I could make you breakfast, and then later on we could have a girl's day out of the house. What do you say?"

Winter turned her gaze towards her mother. "I'd like that." Her simple words did not convey how much she would enjoy that. Being out of the house and not having to fear her brother for another day would be a much needed rest. She gave her mother a big smile.

"Alright, I'll leave you to dress. I'll be downstairs making your favorite breakfast." Melissa left the room without another word to give Winter the privacy needed to change.

Winter took very little time to jump out of the bed and raid her closet for some clothes for the day. She briefly considered a dress, but with the recent events she chose to go with a slightly loose shirt and a regular pair of jeans.

She quickly exited her room and as she rounded the corner to the kitchen she spotted Mark eating a bowl of cereal. Her heart began to race, but she fought to keep calm. Winter turned to her brother as she took a seat. "Morning Mark, sleep well?"

"Slept as well as can be expected during a full moon. After I spent my energy on a moonlit run I managed to lie down for the night."

"Well only one more night, and it will all be over with till the next full moon." Melissa said without looking up from her preparations. "I'm making Winter some crepes, would you like some?"

"No I'm good with this bowl. So are you going out to see some of your friends today?"

Melissa shook her head. "No, Winter and I will be going out today." She studied Mark's expression from the side and noticed a scowl form briefly before reverting back to his normal expression.

"Sounds like it would be fun, would you mind if I tagged along?" Melissa expected him to ask such a thing and it further hastened her suspisions to the same conclusion she came to last night. She gave a shrug.

"If you want, but I think you would not like it. It will be a girl's day out. I was thinking of shopping for a new pair of clothes, get our claws done, and perhaps enjoy a nice movie. If you really want to come, we could use an extra pair of hands to hold our bags."

Mark rather despised shopping with his mother and sister. How anyone could spend three hours to pick out a single outfit he did not know. He quickly backed out. "I think I'll go meet up with some friends and bum around downtown instead." He quickly finished his cereal, putting the bowl in the sink. He had to make sure Winter knew not to blab, while he was out. As he was about to head up the stairs, he turned so that only Winter could see him. He caught her gaze with his own and held up a finger to his lips before he continued on, knowing she got the message.

***

Breakfast was over quickly and they piled into the car. All the while Winter said not a single word. She was noticeably less tense since they began to gather distance from the house, but she still remained on her guard.

The silence wore on till she pulled into the mall parking lot. Melissa turned off the engine and turned towards Winter with an expression of deep worry. "What's the matter Winter? What is bothering you?"

Winter kept her eyes glued on the floor as she shook her head. "Nothing."

"Don't give me that. It is written all over your face that something happened while we were away. So spill it." Her tone was commanding and a bit more harse than she had intended which caused Winter to flinch. Melissa took a breath to calm her, and she added in a calmer voice, "Would you please tell me? I worry about you deeply."

After a moment of silence sobs began to escape from Winter. She turned her tired blood shot eyes towards her mother as tears began to well up and eventually fall. "I'm sorry momma!" The tears began to fall at a steady rate now as she tried to continue. Melissa took her daughter's head and eased her onto her shoulder, gently stroking her head. Her sobs began to stop as she slowly calmed down. "I know you wanted me to be normal."

Melissa continued to gently stroke Winter's head. "I only wanted you to be yourself. If I had known this was going to be your first transformation I would have opted out of the trip."

"But I'm a freak!" Winter wailed out. "I told Mark not to tell you. He replaced my sheets after I tore them to ribbons the first night."

Winter started to continue, but any coherent thought she was about to speak turned incomprehensible as she broke down in tears again. Melissa tried to calm her down and make her feel safe. "Shhh, it's alright. Tell me all that has happened while I was away. I'll make it all better.

"I-I can't. He w-will..."

"It's alright. What will Mark do, Winter? I give you my word he will not do anything to you if you tell me. So please, tell me."

Not even taking notice that her mother was not even the least bit shocked that it was Mark at the center of her troubles, she took a deep breath and decided her mother has never lied to her. Not really knowing where to begin she just blurted out the first thing that would come forth. "He has evidence of what occurred during a trip I took into the woods."

Melissa's concern grew at the mention of the woods. Her voice went low with worry. "What exactly happened in the woods?"

"I was raped by a pack of wolves. I tried to fight back at first, but I was eventually overwhelmed by their numbers. The worst part of it all was at the end I realized I began to really enjoy it!"

"The two questions I'm about to ask may sound weird, but please answer them. Did you tell Mark where you were heading before entering the woods, and did you taste blood before or during that encounter?"

"I did not tell him directly, I only texted Mark before school was over that day. I told him I was going to walk home. Never did I mention going into the woods, it just kind of happened. I saw the entrence to the forest and it felt like I was being called to a long lost home. As for the blood, while I was fighting off the wolves I managed to sink my teeth into a wolf. After that I felt a craving for blood at that point, which made my body go into overdrive." Winter began to breakdown as what she just said sunk in. Saying the events made it all the more real, and not just a fantasy she had dreamt up. "Oh god! I am a freak, I enjoy blood!"

Winter once again began to cry uncontrollably on her mother's shoulder. Melissa let Winter cry for a while till she felt the tears begin to subside. "You are not a freak, dear. It is quite normal for our kind. Although I believe a little knowledge of who we are might help you better understand. You see, unlike most others of our species we still carry traits which link us closer to the feral wolves of this world. Those traits tend to grow wild and take effect the closer we get to a full moon, however for some of our kind those genes are stronger and the effects last year round. During this time our body begins to revert to its more primal instincts, to eat and to carry on our legacy, or to put it simply, to survive. To make a long story short, we crave iron heavy meals and to have sex. In the old days when our kind was more abundant they would perform a ritual involving fresh kill and then they would screw into the early hours. Does that help at all in understanding where we come from and to the reaction to your blood?"

Winter lifted her head from her mom's shoulder and looked her in the eyes. "A little, but it is still difficult to get my head around."

"Give it time. It is not something to get used to overnight, but let me give you some advice, mother to daughter. Never order a steak in public during these times unless you order it well-done, or cooked further. I will not go into details on that matter, but I did make that mistake once and we are still banned from that restaurant to this very day." They both started to laugh lightly. Melissa could not help but to wish this moment would never end.

The light laughter faded, and the thoughts brought Winter back to reality and she slowly began to return to her depressed state. "Well at least that clears up part of this, but it only does so much to help. What was with the first question? How did you know Mark was involved?"

"I didn't have hard evidence to know for sure, but I had my suspicions for a while. He is blackmailing you, isn't he Winter?"

"Yes. He has videos and pictures in his possession."

Melissa took some time to think of some sort of plan, while she continued to try to sooth her daughter on her shoulder. Almost instantly a plan formed in her mind on how to solve all the problems, assuming Winter would go along with it."I believe we can get you off the hook, but I'll need your cooperation." As she said this a devious smile spread on her face revieling her fangs.

Winter lifted her head from her mother's shoulder, her ears perking up as she looked up while her mother said those words and grew intrigued at what possible mirecle she had up her sleeves to get her out of her current predicument. "How can I help?"

"Well I have a plan to solve everything, but without your cooperation things will not work. If you agree to help, going along with the plan to the letter, I promise things will get better for you."

"I suppose I could." Winter stated in a low timid voice, unsure of what would be expected of her, but if it meant being free from Mark she will take her chances. "So what do we do first?"

"Well the first thing is to talk to my little wolf pack in the forest. Need to find out why they were following Mark's orders over my own, assuming he was of course. No doubt he was though; they would never do such a thing on my watch." Melissa turned the key to start the engine. She looked over at Winter noticing a bewildered look upon her face. "What? Didn't guess I was a pack leader?"

Winter shook her head. She did not know how many more surprises she could take in. "I had the impression the alpha was always male."

"In the old days, yes, but we have evolved past that along side the morals of the world. These days women can participate in becoming the alpha of a pack. It all comes down to the strongest in most cases, although it has been know to pass through family. I just managed to win it from your father, which was also how we first met. We both have a say in things now."

Melissa pulled out of the parking lot with the silence once again ruling the air. However the overall mood in the car was much brighter, the air filled with excitement. The drive home was quicker due to less traffic and after making sure Mark was gone they hid the car from view, and slowly began walking into the forest. The path they took was unfamiliar to Winter so she followed close behind her mom, letting the calm song of the trees overwhelm her. Before long they walked into a clearing that was home to a rather large pack of wolves, all glaring at the two. Winter felt nervous with so many eyes upon them, but took note of her mother's calm approach. She walked with such authority it was not hard to imagine her as the alpha of this pack.

They both slowed to a stop as the wolves began to encircle them. Melissa signaled Winter to stay where she stood before taking two steps forward herself. "This will be a good lesson for you Winter, concentrate and try to listen in on our conversation."

Three wolves stepped in front of Melissa where they started barking their words. Winter tried to make heads or tails of the conversation as Melissa began to reply. Slowly she began to understand the barks and growls as if it was her native tongue and deep down a part of her knew that was the truth.

"... been following Mark! Tell me what you lot were thinking!" Melissa stood tall, with her claws and fangs showing. It was clear she was furious. Two of the wolves backed away, tails and ears lowered, while the third stood his ground.

"We were promised a great many things if we were to follow him. As a gesture of faith he offered the female behind you."

"Did he tell you who she was before you accepted?"

"He simply said not to worry. It's obvious now she resembles you, a most grave error of judgment on our part."

"Indeed it was, and normally I'd skin the lot of you for your treacherous behavior," Several of the wolves trembled visibly and whined at the mention of the punishment. "But I'm willing to overlook it this time if you agree to a few conditions. The first being to never accept orders except from those I allow. The second is to play the role assigned to you in my daughter's revenge against Mark. Consider it redemption for your act of defiling her. Do you accept these conditions?"

"We accept your kindness, and your terms. We will do as told. But if I might be so bold, might I ask something?" With a nod of approval the wolf began to speak again. "The one behind you, is she the one you spoke of before?"

"Yes, although it is only recently it became a possibility. It is my hope she will accept the responsibility for that task, but the choice to accept is hers alone. I will not force a role upon her." When Melissa finished several wolves broke the circle to gather around Winter, who was slowly breaking from her confused stake and began to panic slightly. All at once the wolves lowered themselves to bow, and as a group the barked their apology. "Please forgive us, what we did was wrong and we accept any punishment for how we treated you."

"That day will be long in coming if she sees fit. For now try to please her and try to get on her good side. Now, let us begin discussing our plan for tonight."

***

Both Kevin and Melissa stood in front of the door, hands around each other. Hidden beneath the smile and warmth worry brewed, but for the sake of Winter they could not let on their intentions and they acted as normal."You two behave while we are gone. We plan to spend the entire night out with friends, so don't wait up for us."

"You have nothing to worry about. Winter and I can take care of ourselves just fine. In fact I'm sure we both will be in bed by the time you get home"

Melissa almost let her rage take form at that remark, knowing full well what he meant, but the firm grasp on her shoulder steadied her nerves and allowed her to keep up the appearance. Kevin decided to end the conversation and get on their way before either of their emotions got the better of them. "Well if anything does come up, you know where we will be. Now then, shall we be off then Mel?"

"Yes, let us be on our way dear." Winter watched as her parents slowly turned and walked away hand in hand out the door. Mark slowly and cautiously made his way up to the door and listened as the car slowly backed out of the driveway and started towards its destination. As soon as it could no longer be heard he turned to face Winter with his bone chilling stare.

"How fortuitous for us they decided to extend their honeymoon. Although I can't help but feel mom knows more than she should. She almost seemed to be acting a little bit odd. You did not tell her, did you?"

Winter quickly shook her head."I was quiet about our arrangement the entire time. I did not want to do anything to warrant your wrath. We both know you hold all the cards here. The only thing I told her was of how I have discovered the effect the moon held upon me." She adverted her gaze to the floor and grabbed her left elbow with her right hand in hopes he could not see through her lie.

"For your sake I hope that is true, but enough talk, let us get started with the festivities." Slowly he began to stalk towards Winter with his lecherous thoughts projecting through his eyes.

"Wait!" She lifted her gaze and looked Mark into the eyes. "If I might be so bold, I must suggest we not do it here in this house. Things would surely go wrong if we leave our scent here."

Mark stopped in his tracks, his grin showing slight annoyance. He could not deny what she said. It would be a large "Very well, sister. Your words do hold some truth to them. If not here, where do you suggest?"

Winter took a moment to pretend to think it out. She quickly ran over to the window as if struck by a brilliant idea. She pointed outside, towards the woods. "How about the woods. We could use the same clearing which started this entire thing. Not only that, but we should have a nice view of the moon through the canopy overhead. If we are to have sex, I would like to feel the moon's powers before the cycle is broken. It would only be fitting."

A twisted smirk grew on Marks face. "I would never have guessed you had such a side to you sis, but very well. I suggest we leave with haste, lest we waste both this fine opportunity our most generous parents have given us and the limited moonlight."

They both quickly exited, only stopping to lock the door. They walked quickly down the path leading towards the school, the path brightly illuminated by the false glow of the street lights. The moon could be seen slowly rising above the trees. It only took five minutes to reach the entrence to the woods leading towards the clearing. A quick glance above revealed to them the full moon, sending its cold light to illuminate the world below.

It took only a few minutes more to reach the clearing that had the lone stump close to the center. Next to the lone stump a blanket was spread out upon the grass. Above the full moon was a few minutes away from being framed perfectly centered between the tall trees that gathered around, the glow focusing on the stump below.

Winter forced herself to look away. "I hope you don't mind, but it was I who coinvinced mom to take dad out. I don't know if it is the effect of the moon or what, but I was really hoping we could have sex here, and so I found time away after returning home to return to this spot and lay out that blanket, as well as hide away some other preperations. Please make yourself comfortable while I prepare a little something special." A faint glow of embarrassment could be seen on Winter's muzzle, and her breathing was growing heavy with excitement.

Mark was clearly beginning to grow angry, no longer feeling like he was in control. "Listen here, I never said you may run the show!"

" Rest assured I'm sure you will like the things I managed to store away, but if you would rather I suppose we don't need them. I just wanted our show of lust and perversion under the final night of the moon's power to be special. Almost as if it was an official ritual to appease the moon which allows us to feel like we do." She made a show of it, giving Mark her most lustful expression she could manage.

Mark gave a loud sigh, not really enjoying the wait to force himself onto her again. He enjoyed the feeling of complete control over her, but now it seemed to be slipping away. He wanted to show her who was the boss as soon as possible. "Fine just hurry up with it, don't waste too much time."

"Thank you, I promise I won't be long." Winter quickly rushed off into the trees pleased with how the plan was progressing. She did not stop running through the trees till she met up with her parents waiting alongside the large pack of wolves. The large group looked menacing under the pale glow of the night. They were no longer in formal wear; instead they were loosely clothed by bits of tribal fabric. "Things are ready to begin."

"Very good. We will follow you in, but first you might wish to dress. Your ritual garment is resting on the rocks behind us." Melissa pointed to the rock behind them.

Winter walked over to the rocks and began to switch out of her clothes before she became conscious of all the eyes watching her. She picked up her clothing before rushing into the privacy of the trees where she quickly disrobed and with haste put the ritual gown on. The simple garment felt soft and light, while providing protection from the elements and prying eyes alike.

After she finished dressing she quickly began to make her way back to Mark, knowing the others were silently spreading out, as they continued on their way to their position a safe distance behind her. As she stepped into the clearing her heart was beating rapidly with excitement. Mark turned towards her, his expression changing from minor annoyance to a look of confusion and anger.

"Finally, I was afraid you ran into the wolves again. So what kept you, and what is with that horrible gown you have on? I was under the impression your surprise would be more provocative."

Winter took a quick breath and began to repeat her lines she quickly learned this afternoon. "The time for action is now, brother. You have tried to usurp control of that which does not belong to you. For that alone the punishment is great, but that is only the first of your sins." Almost as once the bushes and trees seemed to come alive as wolves walked into the clearing from all angles, moving as if they were one. "As the rules of the ancients you will atone for all of your misdeeds to the tribe."

"You think I'm scared of you and your pets? Besides what are you going to do? I'm the stronger of us. These fleabags will follow the one with the power."

"You forget son, strength is not everything. This pack of wolves chooses to follow leadership." Mark turned around quickly to watch his father enter the clearing."

"Through a rigorous trial shall the offspring be decided. Only then will the chosen one choose to lead. Those are the rules for leadership." Mark quickly spun around again to see his mother enter. On occasion leadership can be taken, however only through a fair contest. I would consider bribery and sneaking behind our backs to be rather unfair conduct."

Winter stepped forward, all eyes on her as she continued to recite her lines. "Mark, due to what you have allowed to pass I have endured much hardships. It is because of that I have accepted to undertake the trials for the role of leadership. I promise here and now, in front of all these witnesses, I will do my best to live up to the others before me once it is my turn to take control. For now, I am happy to accept the responsibility of being in training. And as for my first act, it is with a mixture of emotions I pass judgment onto you Mark. I ask now for the consideration from the current leaders of what I am about to suggest. There is a saying, an eye for an eye. It is that in which I suggest, to have Mark undergo what I have been forced to do. After which as with the tradition of generations past, I then propose to exile Mark and any of his future generation's kin from our territory."

Mark was outraged at what he was hearing. His paws clinched into fists, his claws digging into his flesh as he seethed with anger. "You think I'll just stand by and take such a punishment? You must think I'm weak. Let me just tell you, little sister, you will be the one gone from here, as well as our parents."

Melissa and Kevin ignored the bold threat and looked into their Daughter's eyes. "I, Melissa, accept the proposal."

"I, Kevin, accept the proposal."

Getting the acceptance for the punishment she mustered up the courage she knew she needed and faced her Brother. "Mark I know you will not go without a fight. However you tend to forget one thing."

"And what is that, Winter?"

"You can teach old wolves new trick, in this case how to render someone unable to run." As soon as she finished several wolves began to close in while two wolves picked up a piece of rope and rushed towards Mark, catching him off guard and binding his legs as they quickly ran around him in opposite directions. Winter only smiled as she watched the surprised look on her brother before he tripped and fell to the ground.

Wasting no time Winter rushed forward to bind Marks arms using some rope she had hid behind her back. After she began to loop the rope around his wrists he recovered from the shock and began to struggle while yelling several obscenities. Wanting to stop his struggling she took a breath and put all her strength into a head-butt. After contact was made she felt his struggles begin to cease until he fell unconscious.

***

It was only a hour before he woke up, but he felt like he was wakeing up with the mother of all hangovers. He tried to raise a hand to his head, but found out he could not move. Daring to open his eyes he remembered he was not at home in bed, but in the clearing in the forest. His wrists were held down by rope, which were further reinforced to several stakes in the ground. Another test and he found it impossible to move, as his body and legs were also similarly bound. In front of him Winter sat on top of a large rock, one leg crossed over her lap.

"Good to see you're awake. I was afraid I hit you too hard. We can finally have our fun. And by fun I mean your punishment. As you might have already discovered, while you were blacked out I took the liberty to remove your clothes and tie you down."

Mark's eyes popped open finally taking note of the nightly breeze that could be felt on his exposed fur. The sight of Winter made him grow angry and attempt once more to attack her. It was then he then noticed there was a pressure on his groin. "What the hell did you do to my dick?"

"To ensure the most out of your punishment I made sure you would have a hard time finding release. I put it into a cage. I'm sure you will go crazy by then end of the night."

"God damn you bitch! When I get free..."

Winter quickly interrupted as she jumped up. "When you get free you will leave, thankful we went easy on you. Here is a fun fact for you. Did you know the method of dealing with treason for our ancestors was castration? It was then normally followed up with an exile. The worst case might have even been death depending on the severity of the treason. At least you will be able to walk away with your manhood intact. Now I'm not really thrilled about joining in, incest just does not work for me like it does for you. So instead I'll be controlling the camera."

At that final word Winter jumped down from where she was standing and walked over to the camera. The first wolf of many stepped up behind Mark ready to get the first run of his temporary male toy. Winter turned the camera on and with a twisted smile she shouted "Get 'em!"
